Guest Reviews
- Motheral (10/5): Went for a quiet trip away from the city, and got exactly this. The hot tub was great addition and the area was tucked a - The property was clean, quiet and relaxing. Nothing- everything was great.
- Melody (7/5): Nice to be lakeside - Nice to be lakeside Access to the property was ridiculous and if you had mobility issues there is no way of accessing the suite. No reasonable way of getting case to our room so had to unpack items in car park area and carry smaller bag down. The info on page wasn’t clear on that.
- Philip (7/5): A l lovely place, not perfect by any means but if you’re sound of footing, well worth a stay. - The location, on the edge of a small lake was lovely. Just a pity the location was not easy to enjoy/appreciate due to unstable floating platform/s where the place meets the water. (Alright if you are there to go boating or paddle boarding but not much else). As above. Also…the place is not suitable for anyone of unstable footing/walking ability as the access to the place is up and down irregular, sometimes steep concrete steps… both to the living quarters and about the back lake- leading area. In my case the view to the lake made the access difficulty worth it. It’ll be lovely in the warmer months.

- Jody (10/5): We would stay here again😊 - serene, beautiful, cozy we didnt have any complaints

- Anonymous (10/5): Very welcoming, clean, hospitable and they have thought of every detail. Will definately be returning to Janice’s little - Absolutely beautiful , quiet, peaceful setting Nothing to not like
- Susan (6/5): Although the property had some positive aspects there were other issues such as broken hot tub, difficult access to the - It was very clean, had lovely views of the lake and was very quiet and peaceful. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom although it had no tub had a beautiful walk-in shower. Great location close to streets leading both to the major highways and to the downtown area The jets did not work on the hot tub, and while we immediately brought it to the host’s attention it was not able to be fixed during our stay. There were a series of wooden and cement stairs leading down to the suite, practically no handrails, and then a long walk up to the top of the road where our car was parked. So it was arduous for my 69 year old sister to go up and down, also it was difficult to unload and load our suitcases and supplies. The wooden rails leading down to the dock were old , splintery and decaying. The wooden stairs on our patio were not secured to the deck and were wobbly and I felt dangerous. The non functioning hot tub was a major issue for us. In our opinion we did not receive a fair resolution to the issue from Elite Vacation who, while giving us a 10% discount on our stay, proceeded to claw most of the discount back on the claim that they were owed a pet fee and that the host had to do a bunch of extra yard clean up after our dog. We at no time hid the fact that we had a pet. The ad stated that a pet fee MAY apply, not WILL apply. And the claim that we did not not pick up after our pet is basically a lie from our host. Our 13 year old small dog was never off leash or left unattended on the property and we picked up after him EVERY time. So while we ultimately received a $50 refund from Elite it left a bitter taste in our mouths and we will not stay there again or recommend it to our friends
- Raymond (10/5): Perfect - The location was lakeside and incredibly peaceful, which was just what we were looking for. This was our second visit in three weeks and we will definitely return in the near future Everything was perfect so nothing to dislike.
- Eilene (10/5): Exceptional - Right at the lake. Close to amenities but provide a lake life.
- Raymond (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): We had high expectations which were met - The property overall met our high expectations. Highlights were the fabulous bathroom, the wonderful spa, the comfortable bed, the relaxing surrounds, the agent's organisation. Nothing
- Zoheb (10/5): overall great experience and we would definitely go to Lakeside retreat again! - Beautiful lake view, excellent accommodations to bring a dog
- Gurcharan (10/5): Great retreat - Very Peaceful & secluded.
Quick access to all amenities Too many steps going downhill to the suite.
- Ling (10/5): Perfect place to stay - Comfortable, clean, everything is perfect! None
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Price (10/5): Definitely going back - It was secluded with a stunning view of the lake, very clean with your own walkway to the jetty and use of paddle boards. The hot tub was an excellent touch!Bed was very comfortable as well. Faultless. If you’re looking to head into downtown Victoria everyday I would say this isn’t that feasible, it’s a 15 min drive but cabs are very expensive so if you’re heading in and out for dinner it’s an expensive round trip. That being said, we used it as a great base to explore all of Vancouver island so it made sense for us.
