Guest Reviews
- Tim (9/5): - Cozy place. The only very minor complaint was there was not a pair of scissors available.
- Brett (9/5): Pretty much exactly as advertised. Communication with property manager is top notch. - Very remote. Serene and peaceful.
Lots of wildlife to watch, both in and around the water. A bit musty smelling, but to be expected.
- Nigel (10/5): Perfect couple of nights in every way wish we could have stayed longer - thank you - Beautifully appointed, private, remote but totally accessible, a view to die for, quiet. Nothing

- Christopher (10/5): Luxurious apartment surrounded by an oasis of calm - The apartment is well furnished and decorated with everything that you would need to make it feel like your own vacation home. The kitchen has all the necessary cookware to easily prep meals, except for a freezer. The large dinner table and small balcony table allows for comfortable indoor or al fresco dining. A neat little wine fridge lets you store the locally bought vintages from the surrounding vineyards. The tranquility of the area is pervasive and a slice of heaven looking for those wishing to disconnect from the hustle and bustle. A few minor things: It would be nice to have access to the beach for the guests and to offer use of a kayak. Also, not sure if possible, but screens on the balcony doors would be a plus so as to sit with them open and listen to the sounds of nature but at the same time not have mosquitoes/wasps, etc. fly in. Lastly, lack of a freezer complicates some meal preps.
- Stewart (8/5): Lovely place to stay in the cowichan area - Loved the view from the balcony, the humming birds and bald eagles Tv needed to be fixed
Done while we were there
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - The unit is excellent, very clean, and the bed so comfortable. The view over the estuary is excellent. The environment is also really lovely, including fragrant trees and singing birds.
- Juliet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (10/5): Great hidden gem. A must book - Everything. This is the hidden gem of hidden gems. Perfect quiet location, easy access to the unit. The details are exquisite and clearly a lot of thought and pride went into putting this together. Breakfast on the patio looking out into the bay is serene
We added an extra day because it was just so peaceful. 10/10 would recommend to anyone Hard to find correct driveway at night but once I knew where it was it was easy.
- Douglas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (7/5): Ok value for money but a bit too far from town - location is remote from Cowichan Bay. Hard to find at night. House number hard to see unit was very nice, modern and well funished See above
- David (6/5): Too many problems within the apartment to make it worth the extra drive and the expense - Beautiful view from balcony. Coffee and coffee maker was provided. Apartment was a bit of a long drive from amenities of Cowichan Bay( 15+ min). Very thin walls and could hear upstairs tenants stomping around all evening and well past midnight. Had to bang on the ceiling to get them to quiet down. No screens on the windows or doors so could not leave any open at night due to concern about raccoons coming in( they were noted around the property both at night and during the day)- as a result it became very stuffy in apartment. Mattress was too soft causing backaches in AM. None of the kitchen drawers had any handles on them making it very awkward and difficult to open. Refrigerator did not have a freezer section and the unit was so small that we could not fit a half gallon of milk standing upright and had to pour it into small containers to fit into the fridge. Fireplace would not turn on with remote control.
- Graham (9/5): Wonderful stay on the bay. Beautiful surrounds with big views - Big views, private Nothing
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pamela (10/5): Luxurious home with a gorgeous view! - The view. Comfortable couch. Comfortable Queen size bed and pillows. Extra blankets and pillows. Coffee maker great. Kitchen fully stocked with quality equipment, dishes and cutlery. Property management. Our ‘greeter’ Jordan who we only met by text and phone was friendly and responsive to our questions
The property binders full of information re: equipment and advice. Please add instructions as to operation of shower! No access to the bay though path was visible. Tricky place to find in the dark. Don’t think you’d find the driveway without GPS! Our greeter went out of his way to explain that we should try not to go past the driveway as it would be difficult to back up on the narrow road. We took his advice and went carefully- when you’ve done it once it’s no problem. This is a spectacular location but you need a vehicle to get to stores.
- William (6/5): Pleasant - With respect to scenery and peacefulness, the location was superb. I did not understand at the time of booking how remote the location is. The signage on the street is almost non-existant. The only reason I knew I was there was because the car navigation told me I was. The door code I was given did not work (fortunately, my contact person was able to remedy that quickly but had he not been reachable it would have been a disaster). Finally, although this was minor from my perspective, the television setup was beyond me. That may have been due to the internet connection not working for the first two days of my stay.
- Carolyn (9/5): Will come back again - Quiet and peaceful
- Terry (9/5): Overall the suite was beautiful and the hosts very conciencious. - The hosts Howard and John were very welcoming and friendly. The pride they have of their spectacular location and facility shines through. The suite was beautifully furnished and we enjoyed the sunny balcony. Having a full kitchen was perfect. As we saw in the previous reviews the small double bed made our muscles sore after by the second sleep. However Howard said he planned to replace the bed with a new queen. Also Howard said he would further train his new cleaner on how to detail the suite for future guests. Perhaps the "cleaning" fee could be removed as the rates of the suite could amply cover the cost of a two hour cleaner. Same goes for the "greeter" fee.
- Sharon (10/5): AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, AND VERY RELAXING!!!! - The location was AMAZING!!! The balcony overlooked the bay and offered constant entertainment for watching birds rabbits tidal changes and beautiful sunsets. It was close to many hikes and waterfalls. We were told a greeter was going to meet us , but instead we called him for specific directions because there were 2 addresses on the tree next to the driveway dropping down to the property. If we had know that it might have made it easier.
- Jill (10/5): We'll be back. - Loved it, a real gem!
- Sasha (10/5): Beautiful, quiet, clean place with stunning views of Cowichan Bay - Beautiful, bright apartment, elegantly furnished, very clean, spacious, comfortable. Quality towels, kitchen utensils, fire place. Stunning views. Very quiet, intimate yet only 10 min drive to Cowichan Bay village. 15-20 to Duncan.
This is the best alternative to the tired, stuffy, overpriced hotels in the area. Everything was perfect.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (9/5): Peace and quiet in a beautiful setting overlooking an interesting bay with wildlife. - Many windows looking out onto Cowichan Bay, two balconies overlooking the water and a small third balcony facing the mountain. Much wildlife, especially birds. This is a beautiful property. I couldn't find instructions for the stovetop.
