• Toni (7/5): Small changes needed. - The cottage was in a good location within walking distance of the shops, beach and restaurants, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen had everything we required. Parking was right outside the door. We expected the location to be extremely quiet, but unfortunately there was a pizza bar across the road that had patrons sitting outside until well after 11pm. Not what we expected in such a small town. The outside of the cottage needed some attention. The front garden was overgrown with weeds and an empty pot full of dirt sat on the front step (presumably the plant had died??) The back courtyard also needed weeds and cobwebs removed. We had to remove cobwebs from the clothesline before we could use it. The half used packets of pasta and rice left in the cupboards by other occupants also needed to be removed. Not a good look.
• Cash (10/5): Easy, serene and authentic hospitality without being in your space - The welcoming attitude of the hosts. The view out the back of the pademelons visiting and the nut in the background. The ease of parking out the front of the property. The serenity. The instructions and communications. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Stanley when I return. That I couldn’t stay longer.

• Melissa (10/5): - A well appointed, comfortable cottage! The most comfortable beds of our entire Tasmanian trip! All the little extras were really appreciated; from the cheese platter on arrival, stocked pantry, wine available to purchase, books, board games … and even a picnic basket and rug! The opportunity to wash our clothes in the laundry was greatly appreciated! Would definitely recommend!

• Linda (9/5): The cottage stay reflected everything that makes Stanley such a special place. - Thoughtful touches , such as the cheese platter made the visit that much more special. Nothing- the property had everything we needed and more.

• Charlene (4/5): Great location, but cold rooms, poor soundproofing, and limited amenities. - The location was very convenient and close to all the places I wanted to visit. The house was extremely cold during our stay, and there was no individual heating in the bedrooms—only wall heaters in the hallway and living area. This made the bedrooms uncomfortably cold and difficult to sleep in. The property appears to be partitioned into two separate dwellings, and unfortunately the soundproofing is very poor. We could hear the neighbours clearly, even late at night (around 2:00am), and normal activities like someone using the kitchen early in the morning would easily wake others. Amenities were also quite limited. There was only a small amount of washing powder provided, so I had to use my own (luckily I brought some). Similarly, the shampoo and conditioner supplied were not sufficient for four people. If you plan to stay here, I would recommend bringing your own supplies or requesting additional items in advance.

• Yuk Kiu Chloe (10/5): A cosy and relaxing getaway - Everything. A nicely decorated and cosy cottage, with the most delicious cheese platter and nice view of the Nut. The chairlift, town center, penguins viewing platform and lookout points were all within a few minutes drive. Nothing! We’d love to be back!

Great location close to the main street, coffee shops and pub, the nut and penguin viewing. There was a cheese platter on arrival. The shower was leaky. Wasn't a big issue just put a fair puddle of water on the floor.

• Norma (10/5): Loved The Cubby Hole, perfect place to stay. - Beautiful property right in the centre of Stanley. Loved the deco and enormous space. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking at the Nut. It was an easy walk to the base of the Nut and also for the towns restaurants. Nothing.

We loved swimming on the beach and the penguins were almost on the doorstep. Also within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to be. Not much, the toilet needs a bit more light, an easy fix with a better bulb.

The rooms and unit were clean and tidy, the beds were well made, and all necessary toiletries and amenities were provided. The front entrance could use some attention - the flowers and plants were a bit overgrown. Otherwise, no major complaints.

Big open space with lots of views while retaining privacy. Well appointed with everything you need for a super comfortable stay. Driveway is a little tight in bigger vehicles (4WD) but you don't need a car to get around town.

• Klaus Kemmerich (9/5): Netter Aufenthalt mit viel Platz und zweckmäßiger Ausstattung. - Zentrale Lage im Ort, viel Platz - alles da was man so braucht - Parkplatz an der Wohnung. Wir waren in #5 nebenan ist #7 Die Wohneinheit ist ein halbes Haus - auch die andere Hälfte wird vermietet - es könnte ruhig sein, aber die Ruhe hängt von den Nachbarn ab - da man auch gut hört was in der anderen Haushälfte ab geht. Insgesamt ist das Haus etwas älter und abgewohnt, aber mit neueren Einrichtungen bestückt - also eine Mischung aus antik und modern.

In addition, the hostess had left us a lovely cheese platter and crackers. As the property is on the main street, sitting on the verandah was 'busy'.
