Guest Reviews
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Emma (9/5): - The host was understanding, courteous and gracious when we had an issue with checkout. She communicated promptly and was kind, with a mishapy that occurred our end (& unfortunately out of my control). Great hosts!
- Caitlin (10/5): A cozy, clean cottage to spend a chilly autumn weekend - Beautifully decorated, cozy, just moments from town.
- Anthony (9/5): Our stay was perfect for attending a wedding at Bendooley Estate, plus exploring the town of Berrima - The property was located in the perfect spot for easy walking access to the beautiful town of Berrima.
The bedrooms were perfect for privacy and comfort, with each bedroom having a well appointed ensuite bathroom. Control of heating devices could be better
- Lydia (10/5): - Lovely and close to the wedding venues in the area.
The 3rd bedroom is on the side of the house so allows you to stay with family but also have separate spaces together.

- Susan (10/5): Great accommodation for couples who maybe going to an event or out wine tasting in the area. - Fabulous location to small village of Berrima. Lovely walk to the river which was very scenic and we happened to see a platypus. Very special. Our host were very responsive and me did get to meet their beautiful dog - Archie. A wonder stay. Limited space for dining, we were in Berrima for a wedding so it did not affect us so much. I would not recommend this accommodation for a family with small children.
- Robyn (10/5): Great location - gorgeous property - Lovely hosts who were very accommodating. Exceptionally clean with lovely touches. Very homely with everything you need. Ideal base for attending a wedding at Bendooley - will definitely come again.
- Melissa (9/5): -
- Tanya (10/5): A beautiful cozy clean cottage in a great location. - The property was lovely. Cosy, welcoming, clean & decorated beautifully. All in the perfect location.
- Sally (10/5): Magnificent play to stay to experience the beauty of Berrima and the wider Southern Highlands. Lovely hosts . - Gorgeous country cottage well located and adjacent to Main Street Berrima. Very welcoming hosts and guard dog Alfie ( a beautiful gentle Golden Retriever). Thoughtful touches in the cottage to ensure a comfortable stay . Would highly recommend. Nil issues at all .
- Scott (8/5): A great spot for a either a short or long stay - Location was excellent. Well within walking distance of shops & restaurants. The property was very comfortable & well stocked. We had to wait for the central heating to kick in the first night with only a small fan heater in the lounge room. The front veranda could have done with sweep.
- Alison (8/5): -
- Melanie (10/5): Hillside Cottage was a great place to stay - The cottage was as described and was perfect for our family group of 3 adult couples attending a wedding at Bendooley. Having ensuites for all the bedrooms was excellent, and the cottage was warm and comfortable. It is very close to restaurants, cafes and shops all being a very short walk away.
- Margaret (9/5): Superb -
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Izabella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Agnes (8/5): Very good - Beautiful location, and wonderfully clean house. The beds and pillows are very firm, it would have been a lot more enjoyable with more comfortable beds.
- Michelle (10/5): Fabulous stay. Owners were so happy and helpful. Very flexible with us. They would do anythingvto make our stay perfect. - It was all we needed for weekend wedding
- Dennis (10/5): A great place to stay for a few nights and soak up old country charm - Very nicely set up and cosy but the bedrooms and en-suite were large peace and quiet and morning sun Not much at all
- Tracy (10/5): The property had old world charm, but with modern inclusions such as and ensuite for each bedroom. - The cottage was quirky and was restored with old charm. Every room had its own ensuite and the location was close to the wedding venue we were attending. It would have been nice to have had an outdoor area to sit and have drinks and cheese in the afternoon.
- Debra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Enjoyed the atmosphere of the small town. - Supplied our own breakfast and ate at a local cafe. We have visited the area on other occasions, this was a special one the marriage of my son. The only thing we found were the mattresses weren't very comfortable, other than that everything else was great. Loved the old ambiance of the cottage.
- Judith-lyn (10/5): We loved it. So close to everything - We has the whole 3 bedroom home to our selves. Our family was impressed with the communal areas, beds were comfortable and the house was warm.
- Yvonne (9/5): Great property close to everything. - Excellent property for family get together. Large comfy bedrooms each with ensuite. Very close to Main Street and shops. Ten minute walk to The Surveyor General hotel for dinner. Hosts very helpful. Very comfortable accommodation. Heating very welcome on chilly nights. Plenty of glasses, crockery and cutlery. Bedding very comfortable. Kitchen well provisioned but quite small.
- Jacinta (10/5): Exceptional - Grant and Gayle are very friendly and offered great advice on where to eat, all with in walking distance. The handwash in the bathrooms were water not soap (watered down ) or empty. This I would place on the cleaners not the owners.
- Stuart (9/5): Hillside Cottage was a very enjoyable experience and would definitely rebook when visiting Berrima - We attended a family wedding at Bendooley Estate, the location was perfect.
The lovely verandah was our favourite place to sit and soak up the sun.
The gardens were stunning to look at and Alfie was adorable.
We also enjoyed spending a day walking around Berrima. The body wash in all of the bathrooms was not enough for the 3 day stay, they needed refilling.
Forgot to mention to the host that one side of the toaster was broken, will need to be replaced.
- Graham (10/5): Great stay in a piece of history - Location for a local wedding There was nothing I didn’t like
- Lee (8/5): A very nice place to stay - No soap in the shower
- Margaret (9/5): Very cosy, cute cottage with lovely furnishings, bedding and little extras. - Facilities were great. 3 rooms and 4 bathrooms. Hosts supplied coffee and milk, lots of towels. Easy to access and walking distance to local shops, pub and winery. Close to Bowral for shopping too. Beds were beautifully made with quality sheets and electric blankets but were not very comfortable.
- Karen (10/5): We had a great few days staying in this cottage - This little cottage was just lovely
Communication was excellent
Was a great few days away
- Shenese (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (10/5): Hillside Cottage is a true home away from home and we will be back - Hillside Cottage was really warm and cozy, all of the cottage and so well appointed with loads of amenities on offer. The cottage is a short stroll from cafes, cute shops, pub and lovely restaurants, perfect for a weekend escape and not have to worry about driving once you’ve arrived. Our host Gayle was also very friendly and responsive with any questions we had about the cottage and village of Berrima. When we had to leave.
- Linda (10/5): Perfect for a Grooms wedding party - Perfect location for a wedding being held at Ben Dooley Just a little cluttered but others it was perfect
- Anthony (8/5): Fortunately weather was kind to us so we managed - Great location Tiny kitchen for so many people
- Nicole (10/5): Relaxing - Quaint character. Perfect location. Owners were lovely My bed was very squeaky
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful comfortable home with plenty of space & great location. Nothing. All wonderful
- Diz2508 (10/5): Perfect - Comfortable house, perfect for a group of friends.
Convenient location, we spent days exploring 10min drive from most spots.
- Megan (10/5): Stay was excellent. In town for a wedding and location and facilities were excellent for 3 adult couples. Would make a g - Beautiful cottage. Great central location.
- Anonymous (8/5): We really loved the place. The rooms were just beautiful in particular the Garden room. We’d love to return at some stag - Beautifully preserved character home, with all essentials provided making it a very cosy place to stay. Warm greeting from the host on arrival with full privacy provided for the stay thereafter. Stunning location and verandah to the enjoy the view. Hot water system was a little bit temperamental during our stay and unfortunately on opening up the sofa bed for use there were what looked like a few mouse/rat droppings inside.
- Adam (9/5): A nice comfortable house with very accomodating hosts. - It has a very comfortable atmosphere, stayed in winter and the house remained quite warm. Suitable for a small group as there is enough space to relax nearby and still have plenty of privacy. Lots of bathrooms available for multiple groups getting ready at the same time. The hot water did get used up fairly quickly, but showers was still comfortable with only the hot water tap turned on.
- Oethellebert (10/5): Cozy Cottage - The property was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It was perfectly located near the wedding we attended at Bendooley Estate as well as conveniently located in the heart of Berrima.
Gayle was also amazing, ensuring we were able to access the property and even let my daughter play with their puppy. Nothing.
- Troy (10/5): Perfect location to stay in Berrima within walking distance to all the main street cafes and shops. - We choose this property because it was right in the town of Berrima and yet was a quiet, comfortable stay. we choose Berrima for a mid-week mini break with my family and elderly parents - great place and precisely as described by our wonderful hosts, Gayle and Grant.
- George (9/5): A lovely and enjoyable weekend stay in a beautiful part of the Southern Highlands to attend a family wedding at Bendoole - A very clean, comfortable and well presented and tastefully renovated property retaining all its old world charm that is centrally located and within walking distance of all the shops in the beautiful old town of Berrima
- Andrew (7/5): Good - Easy access to the Berrima village. Warm and cosy. Not a true 4 bed, 4 bath but suited our needs. Dine out all meals advised,
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (8/5): nice heritage property, peaceful stay. - lovely decor, good communication, host turned on lights for us prior to late arrival. parking and access to the front verandah over grass and pebbles as we had my elderly mother on a walker and difficult to go over pebbles. An access gate close to the parking would be better.
- Coleen (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage is very convenient, lovely and clean and very comfortable. There was nothing to dislike
- Andre (10/5): Awesome cottage with great hosts - The cottage is beautiful and cozy. The hosts were fantastic in accommodating our requirements and it is located just a stroll away from the Berrima Village and conveniently close to Bendooley.
- Carolyn (9/5): Superb - Cottage was beautifully decorated and well set out The beds were a bit too hard
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional -
