Guest Reviews
- Conor (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (7/5): Perfect x - The outdoor area for fire was great .
It was a cost stay for us as it was raining a lot so the lounge area was perfect to chill stay warm and watch movies. Overall lovely experience at this place loved the vibe and the atmosphere. Furnished beautifully with modern amenities. Will be back
- Sara (9/5): Superb - Gorgeous cottage Noisy.road but we signed up for that bring so close to town
- Jeanne (9/5): Superb -
- Brooke (10/5): Fantastic, I can’t wait to go back! - It was much bigger than I had expected, especially the backyard! It had such a cute rustic aesthetic I absolutely LOVED. It was exactly what I had envisioned for my weekend away, nothing more relaxing than waking up early in the morning and sitting on the balcony with a coffee watching the sunrise. Not to mention it was also an excellent location, so close to the town but also far enough away you still felt like you had privacy I liked everything.
- Shane (8/5): Very comfortable. Recommended. - Position. A 10 minute stroll into town. Excellent.
- Beth (9/5): Superb - Location was great
Beds were realy comfortable
Bathrooms were clean outdoor shower was loved by all.
Kitchen had everything that was needed.
Overall it was a fabulous few days. No negatives
- Alex (9/5): Herritage Cottage 2024 Nov Stay - The cozy and home-y vibe of the cabin is exactly what myself and my friends were after, and Herritage Cottage did not dissapoint at all.
It was a short walk into town, which was perfect for the nights we wanted to dine out, or if we needed to quickly duck into the shops.
The bedrooms fit our needs perfectly, and the facilities were great.
We did have an issue with the power going off in the bathrooms and kitchen at one point, but the staff were very quick in getting back to us to let us know where the fuse box was to turn it back on.
Loved it!
- Paul (9/5): Great location, owners comms were excellent, would go back - Perfect location, clean, tidy and beds were comfortable As the weather was superb the outside bathroom wasn’t an issue but not sure if it would have been ok if it had been colder, but nonetheless it was different!
- Sarah (10/5): Perfect Margs stay - Perfect location (you can walk everywhere) and there are great restaurants and bars close (but not too close to have any noise at the property), looks exactly like the pictures, very cosy and well set up. The farmers market on a Saturday is an added bonus as it’s just across the road (we got some amazing groceries to take home). Beds were comfy. It’s warm in the cold without needing added heaters (and there is a fire for winter). Cute little balcony out the back we used to have our coffee in the morning on with the beautiful morning sun. The management were super responsive, there were also some discount cards to be used at local restaurants and wineries. There were even DVDs and games to use! Nothing! Wish we could stay longer, will definitely be booking again!
- Kathryn (8/5): Interesting property with a quirky vibe - Interesting staying in a heritage property as we were visiting from the UK. The outside bathroom was fun. Kitchen was well equipped. Attention to detail wasn’t great, for example a great big wardrobe with 2 hangers and could have been cleaner
- Amanda (8/5): Comfy, relaxing spot to explore the region -
- Frances (8/5): Very good - Location was absolutely superb and it was very easy to walk into the centre. The information provided to us on booking was very useful and loved the complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. They'd obviously thought about what people would need so there was milk in the fridge, toiletries, washing powder etc. for us to use. The house was lovely and had great amenities and comfortable beds. It had pretty much everything we wanted! I would definitely stay again with wider family. It is an old property and consequently is a bit drafty and creaky. We could have done with a draft excluder at the front door as it was very wet and windy when we were there. We were a bit cold but we made good use of the log fire! We could have done with some instructions on how to use the hob, oven and microwave but we managed to work it out! A teapot and a French press would have been nice but that's just our preference. Knowing all this we would just pack what we personally want to make it a bit more comfortable.
- Selena (9/5): We loved the cottage. - Location great. Walked into town for coffee every morning. Great little kitchen with dish washer.
We loved the outside toilet & shower. We nicknamed it (the brass monkey).
- Adrian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Niamh (8/5): Very good - Location and property TV's didn't work 100%
- Gilmour (10/5): The cleanliness was exceptional! -
- Alan (3/5): Disappointing the value isn’t there and main road location an issue. - Walking distance to town Noisy location with traffic noise. Back lawn untidy, not mowed. Cockroaches running around at night, mouse poo in the toaster. Firewood for 1 night in winter? ? No TV antennas in bedrooms? Lillypilly fruit very messy around front paths. Other houses better value, stayed in much better home previously for same price. Advertised as 2 bathroom didn’t mention 1 was in the backyard and open, might be ok for Summer but needs pointing out for winter stays.
- John (9/5): Overall a pleasant stay in a comfortable cottage - The location was excellent, within walking distance to restaurants and shopping precinct. Second outdoor bathroom would be ideal during summer months. Beds were comfortable, house was clean and tidy. Off street parking was a bonus The Check in process was not ok. Was given incorrect pin number for locked key box. There was no response from given telephone number even though it was called within stated office hours. Finally reached an emergency number and were given the correct pin. After travelling all day this was not an ideal start to a holiday
- Tracey (8/5): Would come again and recommend to people. - Spacious and quirky.
Great location.
Came for two nights for our honey moon and it was a wedding gift. No cover for ironing board.
Coffee machine didn’t work.
- Judith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (2/5): Great location RUINED by NOISY NEIGHBOURS - House was lovely and rustic, in a good location close to town. The house is located beside the “neighbours from hell” as there was noise every night during our three night stay.
We have never complained about a stay previously in all our time with Booking.com, and respect every property we stay in, but this was a nightmare stay.
We had noise every night, culminating in a very noisy party until 2.30am on a Monday night/Tuesday morning! Totally unacceptable and unfair.
There are previous complaints on Booking.com about these noise issues so it’s not just us, being “over fussy” as that’s not our style TBH.
So disappointing as the cottage is fab, in a good location to town, and really nice. But the neighbours are HELL.

- Bruno (10/5): Exceptional -
- Troy (8/5): Wonderful stay in a great location that had lots of charm. - We were a family of 7 and had a really wonderful stay. The property suited all three generations, we especially loved the outdoor space. It was a fantastic location & the communication from our hosts was excellent. The property was very clean and well furnished.
- Trina (8/5): Location was great, liked the house. Only reason we wouldn’t come back is the neighbors up all night every night. - Location was great - close to town
Outdoor bbq area and outdoor bathroom were good Only one aircon which didn’t cool down the house very well (it was high 30’s)
Needs a good dusting.
A gate to the back yard would be handy when coming back from the beach.
Next door neighbors were awful and stayed up all night playing music and arguing and banging about every night we were there - none of us had a good nights sleep.
- Anastasia (8/5): Very good -
- David (6/5): Pleasant - Excellent location. Easy walk into town. BBQ area and equipment very good. WiFi good Less noisy neighbours who were very loud into early hours of morning on more than one occasion.
Outside shower and toilet full of cobwebs.
Electrics need updating, tripped on occasions.
- Sam (8/5): Very good - We loved the character of the cottage!! Space for the kids to run around safely in the back yard
Proximity to town!!
Modern facilities!
Outside toilet and shower were a great addition as it was modern and clean A previous group of people left a bit of a mess out the back!
- Ajwant (8/5): Very good -
- Scott (10/5): Well worth the stay and in great location. - Clean, rustic but with the essential needs very good quality. Outdoor shower and toilet was a treat after mountain biking. Fireplaces were great.
Short walk into town and opposite farmers markets held every Saturday.
- Jennifer (7/5): It was comfortable. It had aircon which warmed the kitchen & living room. The bedrooms were cold , bathroom. Bed - Convenient location Creaking floor so noisy at night walking to the bathroom. TV in 2nd bedroom the antenna cord too short. Couldn’t use it.
- Brittani (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (10/5): just amazing can’t wait to come back - location and rustic feel nothing at all ! wanted to stay longer
- Nevill (5/5): All up we had a great time. - The house was nice. Could have used a de-spiderwebbing. They were webs that had been there for a while, full of dirt and leaves The sheets on my bed were dirty. I had to wash them myself as there were no extra sets on site.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Outside bathroom was fab! It was all great!
- Patrick (8/5): cottage net all out expectations and kitted out with everything we needed to enjoy our stay and enjoyed coming back to t - Location was great, cottage was quirky, great outdoor Bbq area ! nothing
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Excellent location, 5min walk from town centre.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - all good -
- Vixj (7/5): Historical treasure in a great location
A great last minute find for a couple of days adventuring - Fabulous location within minutes walk from centre.
Great outdoor bathroom and bbq area.
Rooms large and bedding clean.
Sofa comfortable.
Kitchen stocked reasonably well.
Loved the historical aspect of the house. Mattresses could do with an upgrade.
Mattress protector was stained.
Whole house needs a thorough clean
- Noeleen (9/5): Superb -
- Bernadette (9/5): Homely Cottage Stay - Very quirky. Kitchen had everything we needed. Extra blankets available. Good heating. Lots of places to sit inside and out to enjoy the sun. Shower had good pressure. Washing machine and dryer were an added bonus. Easy walk into the township. Ample off street parking. The open fire in the lounge was lovely to sit around in the evening (we supplied our own wood though). We'd stay here again. Being an older home the floor was quite creaky to walk on, but I guess that added to the character!
