Guest Reviews
- Max (10/5): It was perfect for a larger group to stay. Would highly recommend - Large bedrooms, multiple living areas and amazing gardens N/A
- Margot (9/5): We had a great weekend and Kathleen very helpful - We loved the size and beautiful areas downstairs Very well appointed with everything you could need for a very enjoyable weekend with the family
- Shan (10/5): -
- Gwendolyn (8/5): Gibson Wedding - We liked the house. It was quiet, clean and a good spot for our stay for a wedding. We found it difficult to find the driveway when returning.
- Susie (9/5): -
- Katelyn (10/5): -
- Liza Arcilla (10/5): Great for families - The house was amazing! Only a 5mins drive to the city centre. We had an issue with the hot water system and had to contact the host. They were responsive and very helpful.
- Melinda (9/5): Peaceful, comfortable, well equipped place to stay when visiting the beautiful Southern Highlands. - Very comfortable home with all the right amenities and everything you need. Generous amounts of furniture and space, so everyone can have a seat in comfort. Thoughtful details, like having ample plates, glasses, cutlery etc for a group, made the stay easy. Hidden substantial foreign transaction fees applied separately after you make the booking, when using booking.com. This should be disclosed upfront. Not the host's fault. Would book through other platforms if available.
- Ozechidna (10/5): Wow! Wonderful home and facilities. Fantastic location. Hope to return. - The entire property was wonderful, kitchen was extremely well stocked with cookware, dinner ware and cutlery - we did not run out of anything while items were in the dishwasher. The house is beautiful. The gas fire and heating were wonderful for Queenslanders visiting in Winter. Everything about the house was wonderful - we all decided we could happily live there - and were all sad to leave. We all loved the porch swing too. Exceptional. With a large number of adults visiting - 4 Cars - there could have been more care parking - maybe beside the cottage and the tree with the swing.
- John (10/5): Bowral escape - Beautiful location and house. All mod cons and very close to Bowral for restaurants and shopping. No issues with anything
- Angela (8/5): Very good -
- Paula (9/5): It was good and we enjoyed our stay at the property - The house and garden surroundings were beautiful. It was clean but not spotless.
Beds and linen very good. No wardrobe in one of the bedrooms was a let down. The main bathroom had the shower in the bath which was hard for an elderly person to get in and out. Also 3 bedrooms to 1 bath was hard to manage. We had to share ensuite bathroom.
The Dining chairs were hard and uncomfortable.
Carpet needs replacing, a bit of a let down in a beautiful property.
- Dianne (10/5): Thouroughly enjoyed our stay. Would absolutely book this property again. - Excellent accommodation for our family group.
So clean.
Great position close to shops.
Beds super comfortable.
Kitchen extremely well equipped.
Fabulous gas fire. No negatives.
- Dorothea (9/5): Large, comfortable and welcoming house in a lovely setting - The house was beautiful and ideal for the bride's family base. It was such a lovely place to be during the day as we prepared for the wedding. There was a lot of space, we loved the light filled conservatory and the verandah with knotted wisteria and swing seat. The day was cool so we appreciated the warmth of the fire which gave a cosy glow and the heating upstairs worked very well. The kitchen was big and well appointed and we enjoyed meals at the long dining table. The house was very comfortable and had such a welcoming feel. We really appreciated the early check in and late check out. The separate studio accommodation was perfect for the bride the night before the wedding and for bride and groom on the wedding night.
- Ross (9/5): Peaceful and pretty gardens very comfortable - Plenty of room for the family lovely gas fire place to enjoy it was cold 🥶 in Bowral Nothing it was perfect for the family to relax
- Renee (9/5): We have a really lovely stay and the house certainly accommodated all of our needs. - The property is really beautiful and well set up and had plenty of room to accommodate us. The grounds are really lovely and compliment the house. The house is in a great location to explore Bowral and all the southern highlands has to offer. Being mindful of not parking on the grass, parking was a little bit tight for multiple cars but is manageable seeing there is also street parking. Hanging storage for clothes was a little bit tight especially with the number of cupboards in the main bedroom that weren’t available to use but again depending on how long you’re there it’s manageable.
- Evan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annick (9/5): Superb - Perfect for a family getaway. Plenty of plates, cups, glasses etc. Great location. We had a great time relaxing around the fire. Bedding and towels provided were great. Very comfortable stay. A few extra pots and pans would be good. We brought slow cookers to cook for our big family but would’ve struggled without them.
- Wendy (10/5): Excellent - Great location amazing property
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Phil (10/5): Had a beautiful stay during my daughter's wedding, at The Stables, Bowral Escape was perfect - The property host was very obliging and supportive of requests, the property by all the family from different states were very impressed with the property and its services beautiful areas outside which we used daily and regularly, cleanliness in all areas, property presented very well. Property starting to look a little tired and the glass bifold doors in the back lounge the left folding doors couldn't be opened properly as the bolt wouldn't release to fold the doors back completely and the toilet downstairs appeared to only have a half flush option.
- Ozzieo (9/5): Very beautiful surroundings and comfortable stay. Very relaxing and enjoyable - Accomodating host who was kind to give us an early start and late checkout
The property had all the facilities as described and very comfortable Freezer was dirty and not cleaned
The pillows were too big
- Sharyn (10/5): What a wonderful weekend break - What a wonderful place to stay. We couldn't have asked for more. The home was absolutely stunning - location, facilities, ambience, outlook and the weather was amazing! Kathleen was such a fabulous host. We couldn't have asked for more. We can't wait to stay again.
- Wendy (9/5): Great place, so pretty, with lovely hosts. - Beautiful property. plenty of room and heating facilities were great on a very cold few days. Minor mix-up about key box code but hosts very helpful. Unfortunately we lost power to flattette early Sunday morning so moved the 2 people into main house. also ground floor toilet backed up and couldn't be used from Sat night. But despite this we loved the place and were very happy with it, Would come again. Only because we picked the place needing to accommodate an elderly person in a wheelchair, that needed ground floor, I would suggest building a ramp up to front porch and a flat even path be built from flattette front door to main house, It was very difficult pushing chair over gravel and the two steps were high to porch to lift wheelchair. Very hard.
- Rob (8/5): Lovely big home with quiet surroundings, perfect for an extended family retreat - Easy key pickup from the lock box.
- Clarke (9/5): Superb -
- Quinon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): enjoyed our stay . lovely ! - spacious and clean .
- Helena (4/5): Disappointing -
- Victoria (10/5): great place to stay! - very nice! nothing
- Tiffeney (8/5): Very good -
- Yu (4/5): Overall disappointed - The garden is really beautiful and the outside areas are really well kept No kitchen paper towel is provided
No dishwasher tablet available
Our 2 year old niece found a tablet on the bedroom floor which was quite dangerous as we don't know where it came from. The floor under the beds hadn't been cleaned in a very long time
All bathroom only have hair conditioner but no shampoo or shower gel or soap.
The bedroom floor in studio was seeping water.
Mould in the bathroom.
The doorknob was taped and said do not touch, but how can you get through the door without touching the door handle? Toilet double flush didn't work and most of the cupboards and storage areas were locked shut...
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gaby (8/5): great - Location, garden, space, proximity to town and comfortable. It was great to meet the host in person and they were very helpful when we contacted them about locking the keys in the cottage. considering how many people were staying/using the facilities and the supply of toilet aper could have been better. Very small thing I know.
- Frances (9/5): Beautiful property, lovely hosts, great for kids and good location. Would definitely book again! - The property was beautiful with so many nice touches and was well equipped. A great house for kids and easy walking distance to town. We couldn't get the microwave to work properly but aside from that, everything was great!
- Pauline (8/5): Perfect for our family to stay together in the beautiful town of Bowral - The house and studio were well provided. Heating was adequate. Could have more lighting in the studio bathroom. The garden lovely. An ideal place in summer to use the outdoor areas. There wasn't anything to not like!
- G4b3 (8/5): Great Place and Location let down by Poor Management - Location and Property excellent. Let down by poor management of the property. 4 days to respond. Inaccurate instructions to reset lock box which I gave them feedback on which they agreed and will correct their sentence. And if you didn't they threaten to charge a $30 dollar fee. And they then rang and asked why we reset the lock box.. 3pm late check in.
- Janene (10/5): Amazing!!! - Beautifully appointed, highly recommend!!
- Karina (10/5): Great home - Great location, close to town. Really big house which was great for 12 guests. Master bedroom has ensuite bathroom with double shower heads. Front porch swing is lovely. House was cosy and warm. Will definitely stay again when in Bowral. Bbq was in a bit of anti social location for winter. But can be easily moved if need be.
The neighbours are quite nosy and walk past a lot. Felt a but uncomfortable like we were being monitored at times.
- Giselle (10/5): I look forward to sharing your lovely house with others friends on my next stay. - the location perfect an easy walk into town & the layout of the house is great.
We thoroughly enjoyed the terrace room soo relaxing & the studio room is designed very well. The beds were very comfortable too.
- Swan (10/5): Very well managed, hosts thought of everything and we would definitely come again. - Great location, well equipped, beautifully furnished, warm and cosy. Loved having an early check-in and late check-out, much appreciated. Wonderful stay, would be glad to re-visit. Two slice toaster for eight people, manageable but 4 slice toaster would have been better. Otherwise no complaints, all positive.
- Maria (10/5): A gorgeous house with everything you need for a long weekend with the family - beautiful and spacious no outside fire pit
