Guest Reviews
- Sharon (1/5): BUYER BEWARE, property was filthy. - BUYER BEWARE, property was filthy.
Dirt everywhere and fluff all over carpet.
Carpet mat under dining table had pet hair, food smeared into carpet and stains.
One person in our booking was allergic to cat hair. Dead fly and food crumbs in fridge.
Dead flies and insects all over house.
Only 2 towels displayed for a booking of 4. Damaged furniture. Upstairs TV showed pornography once internet was connected.
Everywhere has smears from using dirty cloths.I made a point of advising the owner that I would leave the property in the same state it was in at arrival (I was not cleaning somebody else's filth).
House rules : whole property had to be vacuumed and cleaned on departure.
Any additional towels used incur $5 fee per towel.
Had to call owner to confirm would not be charged extra for using additional towels as 2 towels not enough for 4 people. No bath mats or hand towels anywhere on property.
Security deposit took 10 days to receive after putting in a complaint regards cleanliness with Booking.com. BUYER BEWARE, property was filthy.

- Stephen (2/5): Not good - The house was unclean we were expected to clean it had other guest food under the living room couch the floors were dirty. One shower did not work at all We’re do I start the security bond was paid 10 days prior to our stay and it took me chasing for the return for over 12 days I wouldn’t recommend this property at all
- Sharyn (1/5): Terrible! - From beginning to end it was bad! Firstly they wouldn't give the code until we had paid $500 deposit which we did, we were on our plane to Austrailia before we got it. The place was dirty, sheets had marks on them, kitchen dirty, bad commiucation with owner. We couldnt get hold of them to get deposit back, still waiting, messages have been sent but still no money back even though they said we have got a full refund. Police have been called and Booking.com have been messaged. Super dissapointed!! The whole experience! First time this has happened and i have been a member with booking.com for a long time! Something has to be done, people cant be scammed like this!
- Diane (1/5): Terrible!! Never stay here!! - Nothing They double booked but gave us the pin and were chased down by the people staying there who has also paid
- Haylon (1/5): Worst experience highly unprofessional! - We arrived to find that there were
already occupiers staying at the property. We were given the code to get inside only to find every room had other people's belongings in them . We had to then find last minute accommodation! We are still waiting for our refund!!
- Kell (3/5): We booked and stayed for a local QLD softball event. The location was great, the house was dirty. - We liked the location.
Going to keep writing top fill the box.
Communication was poor
The property is for sale
Leaks from the floor up
Lounges had food and toys still in it. OWNER MADE CONTACT ASKED FOR 4500 DEPOSIT INTO HIS ACCOUNT OR NO CODE. THIS WAS DONE, STILL WAITING FOR OUR $500 BACK. HE NO LONGER COMMUNICATES. It was double booked. Other booking arrived after us, thank fully and had the same code. We will be taking this further.
Open home was scheduled without us knowing. People entered the property whilst we had paid for accomodation, the bins were over flowing on arrival. Gardeneers and neighbours always coming over. Cigarette butts found out the back after we had been away for a day playing sport. Spa/pool empty. BBQ rusted and left over food present. Fridge dirty. floors dirty, and 1m x 1m section in front of the laundry leaks water.
- Amanda (8/5): Very good -
- Window (1/5): Bad - Plenty of space in the house The pool wasn't working, oven turns off randomly while cooking, walls had many marks and scratches, master bedroom door does close without scraping the frame, the king bed is all falling apart underneath, no garage keys and front door keys weren't working, no safety screens on windows, and the manager does not reply to messages until you spam his number and bond payments took about 20ish days to come back
- Sandra (1/5): Filthy, inadequate, ridiculous damage deposit. Disappointed. - Location, It was filthy inside. Stains all over the beds, hairs and empty bottles strewn over the bathroom floors, threadbare towels that we had to find in a cupboard, not enough bedding to keep us warm (had to get my husband to bring extra blankets when he arrived the following day), no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. The place clearly had not been cleaned before we arrived yet they asked in the checkout procedure for the whole house to be vacuumed amongst a long list of requests. Lacklustre communication from hosts and ridiculous $500 damage deposit that we were told we had to pay in order to get the security access code on the day. Took weeks of communication to get it refunded. Booking.com had to step in to make it happen. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.
- Fetalaiga (8/5): Very good - Location, nice and clean, really good The oven and stove wasn't working, no towels, no bins for trash in bedrooms and shower and kitchen, so should be a little cheaper, dining table so annoying, not good
- Avi (7/5): Was ok stay n could be better if above issue are address - Location only - I will email property with pictures soon Linen has stains and smelly including bed sheets
No exhaust fan in bathroom (both)
TV remote with no batteries
- Liam (2/5): Unreliable - It was in a nice location. There are very strict house rules about being clean and keeping the house in order. But the vacuum cleaner is broken and unusable. There are doors that don’t close, locks that are broken. No cleaning supplies offered to keep dishes clean. The 3 TV’s are just for show as decorations because they don’t connect to anything and don’t work. They simply turn on and off.
I had to continuously follow up with the owner about giving back my $500 damage deposit in which I didn’t even receive a response. Until one day I got through via phone call. I only received my deposit back 2 weeks after my stay and that’s because I complained through Booking.com. The owner was taking a chance and made me struggle to get my own money back. I wouldn’t trust this owner with my money again.
- Denise (3/5): Location was great but photo did not represent the furniture quality inside the premises - Premises were not cleaned ,, dusty ,floor carpets needed to be vacuumed
We were 4 people … only had 1 wine glass on premises
Arrived to enter only to be told there was a $500 security deposit We were not informed if this previously and had to pay into a private account before we could get the entry code
Took over 10 days and many messages before we got it returned even though the day after we left we were told there no issues with the property and we will get a full refund
- Brian (8/5): Very good -
- Filipine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Silipa (6/5): Pleasant - Great location! We had some dramas with checking in as we received a message 5mins before checking in to request a $500 deposit. Property was not cleaned to the standards of the overall price for the home. Over priced for the condition it was in.
- Kelly (2/5): Wouldn’t use again - Large house. Very dirty, especially toilet, under couches, in fridge and kitchen pantry. I finally got my bond back after 5 days, since our stay. Air con took 2 hours to work and tv down stairs doesn’t work! Very limited internet reception and wifi.
- Tanakon (1/5): Bad -
- Chris (1/5): they scammed me out of the deposit. do not book with this property - they scammed me out of the deposit. do not book with this property they scammed me out of the deposit. do not book with this property
- Amy (1/5): it was a super bad stay and I hope this house goes off the market - none! The experience was super poor!
The house was very dirty and dingy, there was a very foul smell when you entered, the air conditioning took over five hours to cool down and it was very hard to stay in the house. The leather sofa was broken, the patchwork sofa was dirty, the windows were full of mosquito carcasses, flies were flying around the room, the toilet seat was crooked, the sheets were stained, even, the beds were broken, the bed boards were broken and padded with bricks, everything was terrible and we booked for two more nights. The owner told us to exchange the house code for a deposit of AUD 500, we were worried we wouldn't get a refund and had to stay for two nights, we were so uncomfortable. Eventually the owner said he would refund us the money after checking out and checking the room, this turned out to be a matter that took almost two weeks to deal with, during which time the owner lied about having refunded us the money, which he actually hadn't! They didn't answer the phone or reply to text messages, and finally I called the official customer service to urge the owner to return the deposit to me, and that's how it got there. booking's official customer service didn't have any say in the matter, and they would only send an email to inform the owner when I said that the owner didn't refund me the money, which made me feel very inefficient.
All in all, it was a super bad stay and I hope this house goes off the market! No more people get hurt!!
- Kit (6/5): Pleasant - Low quality bed framing besides that everything was great
- Sharon (5/5): Passable - Good sized house Was near a swamp which brought in the mozzies and cane toads
- Sharon (8/5): Communication with host was excellent, house was suited to our needs, would stay again. - Location
- Dyonne (1/5): Not worth the effort , go to a reputable hotel. - Large living space I had to provide a $500 security bond ( direct bank transfer) and I had to chase up for the return of my bond. It took 20 days. The owner was not helpful and I submitted a complaint to ASSS.
- Kathie (3/5): Poor - Not much No air conditioning, dirty home (have photos)
- Manawa (3/5): Poor - Nice house and is in a nice location The staff are terrible. Be careful when paying the security deposit. They will take your money and not return it as promised. It has been months since I have checked out and still no payment has been sent back to me. I have messaged the property numerous times and they will simply not respond. Please be careful when dealing with the Waterside Holiday Team.
- Jason (8/5): Very good - Good location, big house
- Robert (3/5): Cheap house, cheap fittings and not clean. - Spacious house The house was quite dirty. Everything in the house is just cheap - from the crockery, the one wine glass, the thin towels, the crappy pillows and stained linen.
It's not a waterside home, you can see the water from the top balcony though. The area is a construction site with the tradies commencing work at 6.30am next door. You can't sit outside as you're looked on by the neighbours. No ironing board and when I contacted the owner to ask where it was the response was "not available at this time". I purchased one and left it at the property, not so much as a thanks from the owner.
The instructions state that a $500 cash security deposit is required however on the day I was directed to transfer to a personal bank account. It took me over 3 weeks to get my deposit returned after constantly contacting the owner.
It was also a requirement to vacuum the entire house with the cheapest and most useless vacuum cleaner.
- Michele (6/5): Shocked 4 bedrooms are not available for full use - Space in house was good. Advertised as a 4 bedroom house, but was not 4 bedrooms available, only two bedrooms because we booked for four people and they expect only 2 couples. We are a family of one couple and 2 single people. I have never had this experience where a house is advertised as a 4 bedroom then receive a call to say I must pay more to open the other rooms or I will be charged more for using them. Very shocked. Will not rebook.
- Skye (7/5): Good -
- Mark (4/5): Good location, terrible experience overall with the owners. Beware of these people and read the fine print. - The property was large and a good location The property was dirty, sheets on some of the beds weren’t washed.
Blood in the bathroom.
No coffee or condiments. Communication was terrible. We paid for the full house for 4 of us but the day of arrival were told we could only 2 of the 4 rooms.
They also hit us up for a $500 security deposit or they wouldn’t provide the entry code.
It took over 2 x weeks of chafing to get this back.
Bad customer service overall.
I have never had issues like this at any time when booking accommodation. Has left a bad taste in my mouth. Would never use these owners again. Beware people
- Jaspreet (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Spencer (9/5): Superb -
- Adam (8/5): overall it was ok and will come back again would of liked a few more condiments like oil salt pepper sugar coffee and so - plenty of room a little dirty
- Silia (7/5): Good - The space lots of it Master bed broke so we had to sleep on the floor the while time.
No ironing board so we had to find something to iron.
No bathroom amenities.
Please note the owners are refusing to refund our bond because they provided a faulty BED. The bed is supposed to take adults. Photos were provided to the owners that the bedframe did not have brackets on the corners making it susceptible to breakage/damage. They refused still to refund any of our bond!! Fixing a bed does not cost $500. RIP OFF!!! Please beware!!!
- Tania (5/5): Not as expected - The rooms were spacious and, as expected, accommodated a large group well. The house was not very clean. The surfaces had been wiped down but were wiped with a dirty cloth.
There were cockroaches in the kitchen on the floor, benches and drawers.
The beds sheets were stained with makeup on a couple of pillows.
There were no mattress protectors, with the bottom sheet being a flat sheet and kept slipping off the bed.
The towels provided were threadbare.
Air-conditioning was turned off at the fuse box. After some investigation, got this working.
Fridge had facility for ice and cold water. This did not work. Not connected?
No exit instructions or welcome pack on arrival.
- Scott (5/5): Lovely home, but a bit unloved. Dusty, and junk furniture in the garage. -
- Maree (8/5): It was a great house, good location close to Redcliffe jetty. - The house was fabulous and very spacious It had no extras like tea, coffee & milk for arrival. A few additional comforts to welcome us.
- Mathew (10/5): you have a beautiful home Thankyou for sharing it with us - nice and big and room enough for the whole family with a large family it’s hard to find room for everybody in the one place
- Allan (8/5): Very good -
- Nicole (5/5): Passable -
- Chelsea (10/5): Best booking I have stayed in ever. Cosy, clean, beautiful. - My stay at this property was exceptional, was clean, cosy and suitable for any necessary needs or wants in an over night accommodation.
Very highly recommended this property ☺️☺️ Nothin, everything was perfect
- Munday (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (6/5): Ok - Large confortable home. Suited our needs to go to a wedding in the local area I reccomend the front door latch be checked as took heaps of goes to lock up. Needs a good quality vacuum cleaner.given its a requirement to totally vacuum the house. Dont like the last minute notice to guve a cash deposit. Should be paet of intiial booking process. Top level tv should operate as well as lower level one. Constructive criticism to improve the premise.
- Avi (8/5): really good stay - exhaust fan needed in all wash room NA
- Devagi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (9/5): Beautiful.and spacious - We were very impressed with our home away from home. We were in town for a tournament that weekend so we weren't there much but it was a great place to recharge the batteries. It was clean large house with 3 lounge spaces, so for a house that accommodates a lot of people, you don't feel on top of each other and can easily find a quiet space away from the others if you wish. Otherwise the open plan kitchen, dining, lounge area was a great space for us to all to chat about our day before tumbling into the comfy beds. It is located in a quiet suburb about 10 mins drive away from the Bramble Bay Bowls Club where our tournament was held. Overall we loved the place and will definitely book here again in the future. The lock box for the initial access was quite fidgety but once you work that out, the garage remote is the best way in and out until it's time to check out. First world problem, but a dryer would have been handy. As we were only there after long days at the tournament it would have been useful to wash our team shirts and into the dryer to ensure they were dry by morning. It took a while for the a/c to work effectively. I didn't feel uncomfortable myself but some of the guests mentioned feeling warm (one ended up sleeping on the lounge the first night as he was too hot in his room). We stayed at the end of winter so in Summer it might be worth noting to turn on the a/c as soon as you get in to give it time to work. It was good the 2nd night and he slept in his room as we turned it on sooner that day. You need a car to stay here as it is not close to restaurants/bars in Redcliffe. This didn't affect us much but one of our guests would have preferred not to have to have a designated driver if he wanted a few cold ones on the esplanade restaurants. Not a biggie but worth noting if that is what you are after. Note - none of these things are earth shattering problems and didn't greatly affect our stay.
- Tiana (2/5): Very poor -
