Guest Reviews
- Meg (10/5): A stargazing delight - Extraordinary location, quiet and peaceful. Magnificent. Beds were comfortable and the oversize fridge was a real bonus. Kitchen has everything you need. It would be good if the historic brocken glass on the walking track were removed. It might be historic but poses a real risk to walkers and wildlife.

- Susan (9/5): Fabulous location and a great stay in a historic township - Bed was very squeaky
- Jagmeet (8/5): Very good -
- Vilaça (8/5): Very good -
- Benjamin (8/5): Beautiful spot off-grid - The cottage was beautifully quiet and spacious. The beds were really comfortable. The kitchen had more than we expected - microwave, oven, fridge, etc. Although, no oil, salt, pepper. The bathroom is outside of the cottage, but clean and modern. There is a fireplace inside and a fire pit outside. There is no mobile signal, but if you walk down to the lake, you can get some reception. We loved it! More photos would help.
- Skender (9/5): A wonderful experience to learn about the past and see the wonderful flora, fauna and geology. - We found Norfolk cottage to be a convenient base for our exploration of the park.
We like; that the history of the region has been preserved, the roads, boardwalks and tracks are well maintained, information is available in Norfolk lodge and the park headquarters, the amazing flora, fauna and coastline.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and appreciate the efforts to make experiences like this possible. The rangers we encounter were friendly and easily accessible and ready to provide information about our stay or the park. There is nothing we didn't like. It was important to read the information provided. We found Norfolk lodge a comfortable place to stay for two people at this particular time of year. Although, extreme heat or cold weather would make for an uncomfortable stay as there is no air conditioning. Maybe the windows could be checked as they were difficult to open, and insect screens checked for gaps. The bed is so not the great for people with back issues.
Kitchen was well stocked with utensils but maybe an extra couch in the lounge to cater for more than 2 people.
People need to be aware that there is an outdoor bathroom and toilet.
- Anja (9/5): A great combination of heritage and natural wonders - Norfolk Lodge is part of the few surviving buildings of this historical village of Inneston. It is a quaint solid stone cottage. We loved how well preserved and looked after it was as it gave us the opportunity to imagine what life must have been there over 100 years ago. NPs have done a great job adding a full functioning kitchen and bathroom, which made the stay in the middle of winter still enjoyable, although the outside temperatures dropped to 5 degrees during the nights. We had the warm logfire going and entertained ourselves with the card and board games provided. We LOVED how clean and tidy it was and had fantastic sleeps in these beds with super comfortable mattresses. Thanks also to the super friendly and helpful staff, who were immediately helpful in providing us with a new globe when one had stopped working.
And, of course, nature didn't let us down either. We watched tiny thornbills, silvereyes, and a Willie Wagtail from the kitchen window and were lucky to encounter two emus grazing past our property. We also saw multiple Tamar Wallabies and a Mallee Fowl.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience. Maybe one or two additional lounge chairs would be a great addition to the already very comfortable lounge provided, so playing and chatting in the living room might be cosier for the ones, not sitting on the lounge.
- Guinea (9/5): Superb - A genuine remote ghost town as far removed from the world as you could want. Amazing amounts of wallabies, kangaroos, emus and lizards all around the town itself. The surrounding coast is the most rugged and breathtaking I've ever seen! No landline and no cell phone reception means calls can't be made within the town of inneston itself.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Dianne (6/5): Good but room for improvement. - Solitude and convenience of location Lacks warmth (ambience not heat). Also people doing the trail through the town are intrusive and have little respect for privacy of those staying in the lodges. There needs to be a way of preventing day trippers from accessing each lodges private space. There was also a putrid smell in the kitchen, i suspect a dead rodent.
- Matthew (8/5): Very good - Being authentically immersed in the national Park. Appropriately rustic accommodation for the location. Note: Booking.com doesn't indicate own bedding and linen is required.
Could use a little upkeep on facilities, but has what's needed.
