Guest Reviews
- Susan (10/5): It was comfortable and like going home after a big day of hiking! - Nigel thought of everything! So many things were in his B&B in every room. Quirky! Just all the small things were attended to! Kitchen so well-equipped with utensils and food-herbs,tea/coffee, and many other things..
The house is older but comfortable, a great size, a great backyard, so pretty and green, and places to sit in the sun or under the verandah. Great to have a washer and dryer, although I tried to use the outside and the sun!
The bed was comfortable, the lounges were great, WIFI, TV, a large fridge with yummy things left in it, lovely hot water,
, very quiet area, close to town, a nice surprise on arrival, but I won't tell! I would recommend as a stay! I can not really think of anything! Maybe a couple of sharper knives for cutting things. But really, Nigel thought of it all!
- Mary-Anne (10/5): We had a great time, very easy and was very inpressed with the lovely hospitality. - Great location, close to everything. Lots of thoughtful touches that really made the stay smooth and enjoyable. Very clean and stocked with everything you needed.
- Peter (10/5): -
- Felicity (10/5): A great place to stay in Hawker and a great host. - Our host, Nigel, met us at the property and showed us around it explaining how important things like the coffee machine and TV worked! The smell of baking bread in the extremely well equipped kitchen was lovely, and we enjoyed it with our breakfast over the next couple of days. Our thoughtful host had left eggs, bacon, butter and a selection of milk from dairy to vegan as well as fruit juice. A selection of breakfast cereals was also available. Overall it was a great stay.
- Marie (8/5): - Maison agréable et très bien équipée
- Lyn (10/5): - We opened the door to the aroma of bread baking. Wow! Nigel had stocked the fridge with everything we could have wanted and more. One night was not long enough to enjoy all that was on offer. Comfy beds with lovely linen. Great location to base yourself in the Flinders.
- Naomi (9/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): -
Rien.
- Patricia (10/5): - Met our needs as a group of singles.
The property was clean and very comfortable. Communication with our hosts was easy and they had provided every thing we needed.
A great option for visiting the Flinders Rangers. We would have loved to stay longer
- Yang Joo Irene (9/5): -
- Susan (9/5): A cosy and charming house, very comfortable and welcoming, well located for both the Flinders Ranges and the Pichi Richi - Location is excellent for visiting Flinders Ranges. Very comfortable and well thought out accommodation. Lots of thoughtful touches such as fresh bread baking on arrival, books and brochures on the local area and lots of local art on display. Well stocked with items such as several types of breakfast cereal and milk, assorted condiments, gladwrap and foil etc, all very useful for people on the road. Bathroom is cold in winter.
- Ruth (10/5): This Host and property truely provides country hospitality where you are welcomed as an old friend - This property is amazing. An older style house which has been lovingly prepared to reflect the local area of the Flinders Ranges. Everything we needed had been provided for including an awesome breakfast selection. Host (Nigel) was so helpful with great communication during booking and arrival process. Honestly, nothing. Our group was just doing an overnighter, but my hubby and I will go back to explore the area and will definitely stay at this property
- Robyn (9/5): -
- Shirley (10/5): - Perfect location and the host Nigel was lovely.

- Trudie (10/5): Great place to gather as a group - There was nothing not to like.
Abundant breakfast choices
Freshly backed bread
Kind host
- Gillian (10/5): Excellent, would visit again. - Fresh baked bread, location, aerial tour of Wilpena Pound Travelling with a large group of different ages it would have been ideal to have a few more of the beds in separate rooms.
- Juli-anne (8/5): Very good -
- Robyn (9/5): Comfortable and well appointed home for families, with very good self-cooked breakfast. - Nigel was very friendly and helpful. Home is well stocked with everything you need and substantial breakfast food. 4 bedrooms exist but 2 are not private, being essentially the lounge room and a room people have to walk through to get to different parts of the house. Would be good to make these a bit more private.
- Colin (10/5): Ver comfy stay in the Flinders. - The house was the best stocked we have ever stayed in. Everything you need plus way more. One bathroom for six older people was a bit of a squeeze.
- Eve (9/5): Superb - Host was very friendly and welcoming
Good location and everything available in the house to feel at home
The fresh home baked bread was a bonus we didn't expect but enjoyed :-) Layout of the house was a bit odd with one bed in the main room and having to go across another bed room to reach kitchen / bathroom / other bedrooms. But it worked out well for our stay as 2 families with kids
- Ruth (10/5): A great place to stay - Generous choices for breakfast Nothing
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jooyoung (10/5): Exceptional - A spacious backyard and multiple rooms are available, allowing guests to stay according to their preferences.
- Ross (8/5): Great location for accessing walks, attractions and the pub. - Loved the fresh baked bread. Amazing attention to detail. WIFI reception could have been better.
- Megan (8/5): Great place to experience the outback and the gateway to the Flinders Ranges. - Wonderful to arrive to the smell of freshly baking bread! Lots of breakfast supplies provided too.
The garden was gorgeous, full of native plants which attracted the birds.
Beds were very comfortable.
We very much enjoyed our stay.
- Peach (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): We were well welcomed and very comfortable. Thankyou Nigel. - Beautiful cottage close to everything in Hawker.
- Ann (9/5): Superb - It's an old house with some rooms that open off each other, but Nigel has really gone out of his way to make it comfortable. Herbs and spices in the kitchen, freshly baked bread, state of the art coffee and washing machines plus loads of tourist information. Nigel was extremely helpful. Nothing really. The bathroom is a bit old fashioned, but the shower works well and toiletries are provided.
- Gregory (10/5): Exceptional - Plenty of room and fresh baked bread, made in the bread maker, ready when we arrived. Very helpful host. Location is close to Wilpena and the National Park.
- Keir (10/5): Highly Recommended. Quaint Cottage in a Nice Country Town. - A great little cottage in a great little town. We needed a place to stay on our way from Broken Hill to Arkaroola and options were limited.
We found this place on Booking.com and had a delightful stay. The small things matter and the freshly baked bread was welcome, particularly given that it was a little bit cool weather wise. The owner, Nigel, lives next door and he made himself known to us upon arrival and is a nice bloke.
We were keen to for a quiet night in after a long drive and this place fitted the bill. Very comfortable and clean, and fully self-contained. Would highly recommend. Nothing. Could have stayed another night to be truthful, but we were committed elsewhere.
- Amanda499 (10/5): Comfortable, homey house - Super comfortable beds and warm heating (we were there in winter).
Loved the fresh baked bread and selection of milks for breakfast.
- Mieke (9/5): Superb -
- Annette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (10/5): Awesome B&B in Hawker - My brother and I stayed for two days over the Monarchs Bday weekend. We really enjoy our hosts home made bread making machine. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, quaint town with a heritage walk, Jeff Morgan's Museum, and Hawkers Hotel Motel restaurant, all were great!! The two matching couches need replacing in the living room.
- Deborah (10/5): Perfect place!! - Location on Hawker's Heritage Walk, restaurants, art gallery, general store. Star gazing in the back yard!! Fully loaded kitchen, fresh bread in the bread machine. CD about Australia's original people. Comfy beds!! A lovely B&B. Two old couches no spring - cushions left. You sunk in, hard to get out of.
- Zoe (10/5): Nigel provided everything for a memorable stay - Clean, comfortable with everything provided and a friendly, informative host

- Jane (8/5): Great stay and a wonderful area. - Excellent breakfast supplies and a friendly host. Bread baking in the bread maker when we arrived and lots of information about the area. Only one bathroom and one toilet for 5 of us could sometimes be a bit challenging. But Nigel has plans!
- Maddison (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed in the flinders ranges airBnB and it was amazing! The communication between Nigel and I was great and informative. The place was very well presented and I had a very pleasant stay
- Marie (4/5): Disappointing - It was well stocked in the kitchen. Many kitchen appliances, BBQ, outside area, eski, thermos. An enclosed area for a dog outside. It's a dark very old house. One bedroom in the middle of the house where all had to go through, no window. No window in another room. Old, very noisy air conditioners in the bedrooms which stopped us from sleeping.

The house, although old, was well appointed and adequate for the four of us. Even though the weather was foul and restricted what we could do, we enjoyed our stay. Didn't like we had to walk through our bedroom to get to the kitchen and bathroom.
