Guest Reviews
- Grant (10/5): Amazing, memorable and happy - It was a well presented and Quirky stay away accommodation. Unique setting and amazing facilities in place. Would stay again in a heartbeat Nothing at all it was too perfect
- Dina (10/5): Wonderful - This is where we stay in our honeymoon a year ago
This was our second time stay to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary ❤️
- Colin (9/5): Great stay in good location for visiting the Barrington Tops - Very interesting conversion. Well equipped. Nothing
- Tracy (10/5): -
- Louise (10/5): Picture perfect and peaceful. - The host needs to be commended for consistency in cleanliness, comfort and communication. This is our third stay here and we highly recommend it. If you’re looking for a peaceful break, local eateries and ammenities and beautiful scenery and outdoor activities…this is the one for you. Be as active or as tranquil as you like. Nothing, it was all excellent!
- Peter (10/5): Beautiful old church which has been carefully renovated. Great place to relax - Just like the pictures and very well appointed inside Nothing
- Caroline (10/5): -
- JD (8/5): Weekend at The Church. - The renovations to the church have been done very well. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was excellent and the kitchen / living areas were great. All facilities are there should you wish to stay in and cook a meal for yourself. The outdoor covered area is also a great spot to sit and enjoy a drink. Lawns were a little unkempt but I believe the owner was having issues with their usual gardener so a bit out of their control.
- lisa (10/5): A relaxing delux staycation to visit the Barrington national Parks - A lovely church renovated for luxury stay is true to its photos and description
Lovely comfy bed and beautiful linens is a must and this did not disappoint
Enough items for self catering Nothing it had all the necessary inclusions
- Louise (10/5): Lovely Winter get away… - This was our second stay here, but the first in the colder months and it was still exceptional. Beautifully cozy and warm, fabulous shower, super comfortable bed and a lovely covered area to enjoy the outdoors. The kitchen is lovely to cook in and we love the dining area….so many beautiful touches in a lovely space. It was all spot on!
- Richard (10/5): A resurrected old church provides the perfect backdrop to a romantic getaway. - Absolutely everything. From the gorgeous artworks which added a sophisticated touch, to the beautifully proportioned wall-panelling, the barn-style roof lines, the practical boot entry way and the sublime garden lighting. This place has it all, and it comes in a wonderfully stylish and detailed package. The only thing we didn’t adore about The Church was is’s location , situated as it was in the centre of the village. The village itself if quaint enough but The Church belongs on a hill of its own with spectacular rolling views, as impractical as that may be to achieve…
- Phillip (9/5): -
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous location; exceptional & comfortable stay.
Very detailed thought put into The Church renovation with loving care also. We loved the finishing touch of Scottish theme to cushions & Scottish thistle artwork.
Outdoor area brilliant also however it was rather too chilly for us to enjoy!
Thoroughly recommend The Church Barrington
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (9/5): Beautiful accomodation, great location, would highly recommend. - Beautifully restored church turned into luxury boutique accommodation . It had everything we needed, full kitchen, lovely dining/living area and comfortable bed. We loved relaxing in the outdoor area to read a book, listen to the birds and enjoy a glass of wine . We loved everything, the only comment is there were only 3 coffee pods but that was probably an oversight from the cleaner
- Dagmar (9/5): The Church at Barrington is a lovely place to stay only minutes away from Gloucester - tastefully renovated church, well stocked kitchen, nice bathroom with washer& dryer, easy key access The church has everything you need but as a personal preference we would have liked a DVD player because we know how to operate it and a suit case stand for convenience.
- Carl (10/5): The most comfortable and relaxed Ive been in a long time. This was a stunning place and can’twait to come back again. - Incredibly well finished and appointed. The two key things I look for are the quality of the shower and bed, and both were excellent. Absolutely nothing!
- Louise (10/5): A perfectly peaceful and relaxing setting. - The accommodation was easy to find and parking was good. The church conversion was just beautiful, with the perfect blend of history with modern facilities. The bed was very comfortable, the rain shower was incredible and the decor perfect for the setting. The kitchen was well stocked and great to cook in. There were just so many lovely touches throughout the property that enhanced our stay. The host had supplied ample information about the district and have created a beautiful space both inside and out. The two bar fridges worked quite well together, but did reduce the freezer space available.
- Alison (10/5): Amazing - Such a beautiful place, so relaxing on the verandah overlooking the garden
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - We really enjoyed the property. Very well appointed. Qualify throughout.
- John (9/5): Very satisfying stay in a charming historic church. Well worth it. -
- Rodney (10/5): Excellent. A great drive to the Barringron Tops - We brought our own breakfast. We enjoyed having drinks on the back porch in the late afternoon. All was good.
Nothing to complain about.
- Claire (10/5): A restful enjoyable and happy experience. - Restored old church and the owners had maintained some of the old artefacts while modernising the facilities and plumbing. History of the building was very interesting and we enjoyed learning of the migrant religious to the area. Grounds were lovely and spacious. No wardrobe or dresser or anywhere to put your clothes.
- Ian (10/5): Highly recommend Church at Barrington for couples looking for a quiet getaway. - Church at Barrington has been very tastefully renovated, with a full kitchen and ensuite, plus outdoor area with BBQ. Very quiet in the small town of Barrington, but close enough to Gloucester's shopping and Pub's. Everything perfect.
- Natalie (10/5): I loved it - The Church was beautiful and a great place to stay. The rain shower in the bathroom was so relaxing; I loved it. It had everything you could ask for: a very comfy bed, a great kitchen, an excellent bathroom, beautiful grounds, and a great location.
- Colleen (10/5): Comfort and inspiration! - The property was beautifully renovated and really comfortable. And well lit. We loved the spaciousness inside and in the covered outdoor area. Even though we stayed during a rain event, we enjoyed the stay immensely. And the village of Barrington is close to some amazing walks and rivers. Really there’s nothing not to like!
- Nicholas (10/5): The perfect getaway - Beautifully decorated. Well appointed. Quiet location.
- Grahame (10/5): Stunning country retreat - The unique character and history of the premises, the clean and comfortable facilities, and the beautiful back porch overlooking the immaculate garden where we spent hours reading, chatting, drinking lovely wine, and just relaxing to the soothing sounds of local wildlife and light rain. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Steven (9/5): A beautiful place to stay. Well appointed and ideally located for Barrington Tops and Gloucester. We would definitely st - Character and charm inside and out. Nothing
- Hilton (10/5): Will be back for sure - Immaculate and lovingly fitted out
- Peter (10/5): Beautifully appointed old church - super comfortable - would highly recommend it - The Church was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. It had everything we needed and was so nice to stay at Only tiny thing - the bathroom door handle was a bit tricky and was a hassle every time we went to use it
- Lisa (10/5): Divine stay at Barrington! - The church was unconventional and interesting. Beautifully redone and keeping in theme with its origins, it was one of the nicest places I have stayed. Spacious yet cosy. Sitting on the porch with a drink watching the birds in the evening was such a treat. Nothing- it was lovely!
- Kevin (9/5): Fabulous property - great for couples getaway and touring Barrington Tops area - Quality decor and facilities Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable and Beautifully fitted out
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandy (9/5): Better than expected -
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Very well done up and very comfortable.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional and quirky - this is an exceptional place - The Church @ Barrington is exceptional accommodation, in a charmingly (and sympathetically) restored church in one of the best parts of NSW.
The owners have provided the guests with a booklet of history of the church, along with a nice comfy bed, a comprehensive array of cooking gear, cutlery etc - everything you need.
The Church is an ideal base to explore the district - not only The Barrington Tops, but also along The Thunderbolt Way north to Bretti.
Gloucester (about 5km south) has cafes and restaurants, and Woolies and IGA and is a friendly little town.
There is a main road at the front - but road noise isn’t an issue. You can sit out on the back verandah, have a glass of your favourite, and watch the birds (lorikeets, rosellas, king parrots to name a few) eat at the bird feeder (there’s seed under the kitchen bench). There’s nothing not to love
- Margaret (10/5): Brilliant. - Everything about the property exceeded expectations. The church has been lovingly and professionally converted. Calm, peaceful, stunning. Nothing.
- Otree (10/5): Most amazing place for a two person getaway - the church renovation is modern and beautiful. so easy to just be inside. kitchen and appliances are excellent quality and the wifi is superb. information booklets provided are amazing and the outside seating area is sensational. Has everything you could need nothing really but when the plants are fully grown and blooming the privacy will be better.
- Andrew (8/5): A lovely experience in the heart of Gloucester. - Had a wonderful time at the Church. Was a excellent location and the venue was a great experience to have. Barrington is close to Gloucester, which made it easy to go in and out of town. It was very cold overnight which we expected, but being a big area to warm using the AC with high ceilings, we still needed to put a blanket around us when watching TV etc. For the asthmatics, there was a bit of dust around, but there was a large build up of dust on the fans, which you don't expect from luxury accommodation.
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colin (10/5): We enjoyed our stay at The Church which was cosy and comfortable. - Beautifully appointed and decorated. Spotless! Very comfortable. Located on a busy road
- Jenny (9/5): Kitchen vey well equipped. All the comforts of home . Having washing machine and dryer was great. - Location was very convenient. Gardens were beautiful
- Jarrad (8/5): Interesting accommodation making use of the old church, great for a couples weekend away. - Great use of the old church, the garden area was fantastic Cooking staples such as oils, butter etc. would be good as there is limited food options around so cooking is required
- Colin (10/5): Great renovation keeping the feel of a worship space, well appointed and very comfortable. -
- Monica (10/5): Unique, comfortable, new large accommodation for two. Fantastic if your looking for something special. - Unique property in a great location. the newly planted gardens are amazing and will become more established within a short period of time. Facilities are new and of high quality. Nothing
- Territan (10/5): Fabulous stay at Barrington - Unique experience staying in a church. Everything's new & very clean
Stephen was very prompt in getting back to our queries.
Thnx for complimentary wine. Much appreciated Tricky to work key box.
- Matthew (10/5): We enjoyed our short stay at The Church. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Thank you kindly, Matt &a - The gardens were designed beautifully. We enjoyed wandering around looking at the roses. The renovation to the church have been done to a high standard, which made our stay very comfortable.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - it’s uniqueness. once a church, now an accomodation place.
- Liza (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kylie (10/5): It was an absolutely beautiful space. -
- Alan (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (8/5): fabulous getaway in a beautifully restored building - beautifully restored lovely gardens great atmosphere and love the artwork tv too small, a welcome place of a loaf of fresh bread or muesli would have been an extra touch
- Juliana (10/5): Luxury accommodation with all that you need for the perfect stay - Exceptional high quality luxury accommodation of this old renovated church. Close to national Park facilities and regional town of Gloucester. Highly recommend and would return again
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Jill (10/5): Everything you could want for your holiday - This place was brilliant. Comfortable, stylish and really well equipped. There was even a salad spinner. We had not expected the large and comfortable back veranda (an external room really) or the extensive and lovely gardens. We had several games of boule, ably assisted by the white rooster from next door and used some of the herbs from the garden in cooking.
The Church is about a ten minute drive to Gloucester, a small town with two supermarkets and a bakery called Batter & Dough with fabulous bread and cakes. The Visitor Information Centre in Gloucester is a great resource. Nothing.
- Mark (10/5): Absolutely wonderful - A beautifully restored church with lovely inclusions and wonderful gardens. Enjoyed playing boules outside in the grounds It was all perfect
- Lawrence (9/5): Superb -
