Guest Reviews
- Chantale (10/5): On a adoré!
- Carola (9/5): - Pillows were very hard. The mattress feels worn out
- Robert (1/5): -
- chiesa quijano (9/5): Muy disfrutable - No tenía desayuno. Pero el
Lugar es muy cómodo para elaborar el desayuno a gusto. Las almohadas eran muy altas. Poco flexibles. El resto de las instalaciones eran muy buenas
- Nettie (8/5): - The setting in the trees was awesome, and we also really enjoyed the screened in veranda The bed was not comfortable, it was sinking in , like it needed sturdier box support
- Juliette (9/5): Superb - Very cute cabana in the tree. Felt home instantly. Very well equipped. Very easy check in and check out. The property was a bit far from Placencia village, but I rented a golf cart for the whole stay and it was real easy to navigate. The house creaks a lot with the wind, part of the charm but a bit scary 😬
- Jeff (8/5): Fun place to stay! - What a magical place to stay it felt like we were all alone in the treetops. So fun while eating dinner on the screened in porch to watch the auguti’s down below us. Fun to watch the birds too! We had a cat and it was easy to get into town. They need to trim the trees back from the house. The trees were growing through the screens upstairs making holes and letting the bugs in.
- Gian (8/5): Very good -
- Udeen (8/5): Amazing little cabana tree house - Amazing little cabana. So nice having the kitchenette, snug upstairs and porch area. Felt like a little private spot in the jungle. The front door was a bit broken and hard to lock
- Nadia (10/5): Beauty covers a multitude of mishaps! - Beautiful location, clean, many amenities Not charged the rate stipulated and felt weird never seeing the host and so much info by text that didn't coincide as more than one person unrelated to property managing guests, it could be improved on that end because the place is too nice to have poor customer service.
- Jack (6/5): Pleasant - The space is very nice. The team on the ground were lovely. Many of the facilities were very run down or even broken, the cooking equipment in particular. This had to be replaced but was replaced with something so old I had to use a fork to prop up the hot plate.
The A/C was very noisy, sounding like an idling diesel truck under the bedroom.
The bed was probably once quite comfortable but is now concave into the middle.
It was advertised as having two bikes but only one was available, even after asked multiple times to have access them.
The laundry was offered but could not be done for us.
The road running right outside the property is very loud.
There is not really access to a beach due to local development.
- Vinson (10/5): Comfortable! -
- Romaine (10/5): Overall, we enjoyed our stay here! - The unit was great - a good size, very clean. It really felt like being in a large, comfortable tree house. It was easy to reach the concierge by email when we had a question, and it was dealt with immediately, even on a Sunday.
We did not have a car while we stayed, and got around fine with taxis, but it would be better to have your own transportation as there are few restaurants within walking distance. The village of Seine Bight is over a kilometre down the road, with groceries and several restaurants, but in the heat of the day it's too far to walk. Blue Crab Beach, a public beach, is close by. As is, this is a great place but you really need your own transportation to get around. Bicycles on site to borrow or rent would make it perfect for people who are not driving their own car.
- Avner (6/5): Horrible uncomfortable bed in a nice building with no local workers there. - Nice design. Nice space. A lot of room. Fun porch. The furniture. Especially the bed and sofa were the worst in a month and a half of staying all over in guest houses, hostels and private houses. Pulled my back from the sinking mattress. Just horrible.
The logistics and security follow up from the company was excessive and redundant. The links in email didn’t work. They demanded so much info when it was already booked.
Location is ok if you have car. 20min dr to placencia.
Property is for sale so perhaps that’s why not investing in it. Also no local person there to get info from
- Alissa (8/5): Very good - The treehouse is really cool. The beach was across the street. The trash situation was not ideal. We would leave it at the bottom of the stairs and nobody would pick it up. Then we put it out on the street like we were told and the raccoons got into it. I think a neighbor ended up picking it up. The bikes were difficult to use as the tires were fairly flat and the seats were so rusted they were not adjustable. If you have a small child - the ladder up to the loft can be dangerous. We have a toddler and he became obsessed with the ladder so we had to block it off during the day. The loft does not have a good railing for toddlers either so you really have to watch the young kids up there.
We travel a lot and the bed in the main room was probably the worst we have ever slept on. There were a lot of great things about this place, but for such a long stay, the bed was definitely a downside. The kitchen could also use some updated equipment - the non-stick pans were beyond scratched up, the can opener was rusted and didn't work, could use more utensils.
- Martin (9/5): Superb - Cool property! Very clean. Water pressure was poor for showers.
- Sophie (10/5): Peaceful, relaxing stay in a beautiful treehouse. - The property was absolutely beautiful and the local property manager went above & beyond to accommodate us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave! Nothing, we really enjoyed our stay.
- Derek (10/5): Great little escape - Great place to have a lovely relaxing time in Placencia. Nice area for cooking and chilling out. The bedroom was spacious and our kids enjoyed the mezzanine space upstairs for their private area. The small cooker didn't work so we found it hard to toast bread in the mornings
- Finch (9/5): Great location, Clean rooms, Cool house, Ample parking, Beautifully kept grounds - The Black Orchid tree house was so cool! We especially enjoyed using the shower.
With all the louvers open, it really felt like showering in the tree tops! As an open-air concept home, the addition of AC in the bedroom was greatly appreciated. Pleasantly surprised how quiet the morning road traffic was, and we loved the songs of the birds with coffee in the morning (bring your own grounds). Kiddo enjoyed having a whole loft to himself. Hard to complain about this neat place, but if I'm completely honest, the mattress is really a foam pad. Supportive enough for a few nights, but that's my only constructive criticism. Also, not really a complaint, and wasn't an issue for us, just be mindful that you and your neighbors can hear each other. Quiet time is at 10pm and seems to be respected by the guests.
- Timothy (10/5): If you are a fan of rustic, basic, and general functionality, this is the place! - I liked the rustic feel and simplicity of the design. The space is functional and a good value. The tree-top feel is quite nice because of all the birds. They begins to sing and feed in the trees at sunrise. Exotic birds and other wildlife are visible on the property. 1) The Black Orchid Cabana sits very close to Placencia Rd. The traffic noise is somewhat unsettling at times. There were some aesthetic problems too: 2) Very old toilet seat 3) Broken faucet handle in the bathroom (hot water) 4) The security is somewhat suspect. One of the lock mechanisms (the inner sliding glass door) was faulty. It didn’t lock properly. The outer door locks securely. But it is a wooden-framed, screen door. 😳
- Seth (4/5): It was ok but has potential to be much better. - The structure itself is neat - the lay out of the little house, kitchen and rooms are great for a short stay. There was a cockroach in the home - it was gross🙃 also the local managers were difficult to get ahold of and not very helpful.
- Anthony (7/5): It's ok - Nice room. AC worked great. They were great to meet our requests for early check in and beach towels, bit it took some time. Very quiet at night. Beach access is not that great. The trees block any breeze making it a hot stay.
Walls are a bit dirty.
There is not a lot with in walking distance.
- Sarah (7/5): The photos of the property do not represent the reality, the property’s kitchen area & items require upgrading. - Nice high off the ground cabana in the trees. Drinkable water from the tap. Nice outside seating area, protected from nighttime insects. Kitchen area & utensils were not clean& very used. Dish clothes were grubby & old. Beach Towels were not fit for purpose, bike’s available were really rusty & not maintained. Old half used previous guests toiletries bottles left, not pleasant. We asked in advance for the sofa bed to be made, linen was delivered in a creased bundle which was not clean. This is the 2nd Vacasa property we have stayed at which has been disappointing. The photos representing the property are highly edited & not accurate.
- Arnaud (9/5): I will stay there again because it’s a good play to stay in and embrace the Belizean way of life - Loved the place and the space inside. The shower is very nice. The space with the TV above the room is good. Kitchen is sufficient enough It’s not I did not like, as it’s a tree house, you have to understand that there are no glass windows. The nights we spend there, there was no loud neighbors so the whole place was calm
- Dafina (9/5): Nice and adventurous - Interesting setting Location far from everything
- Paul (5/5): Too much road noise - Air conditioner was useful for drowning out road noise at night. Too noisy! The main road is right beside the cabins and they are an open design so loud trucks and motorcycles are very annoying. The upper loft is accessed by a steep ladder so it's hard to bring snacks and drinks to watch the tv.. The sliding glass door doesn't lock properly.
- Allana (1/5): Absolutely would not recommend!!!! - The Cabanas were quaint. The staff ignored us. We called and texted on WhatsApp. Did not provide enough blankets even after being asked. Two of us had to sleep with just sheets and we were cold at night, had to sleep with coats and pants on. Would not provide toilet paper after using the small amount they did. The ad did not indicate there were limits on toiletries, etc. . Made us feel like we were begging for anything we requested. No dish towels. The mattress was concave on both sides, not comfortable. Showers were pitiful. No communication, nor did the caretakers make us feel welcome. There was no light above the stairs, which was really dangerous.. The ad on booking.com made you think there was a beach with sand and hammocks nearby. There is a beach within walking distance where no one goes littered with plastic and seaweed. It is not maintained, very deceiving. The bikes they indicate can be borrowed look like they have been locked to the post for 10 years. It is up for sale, and it looks like they just want to offload the property and could care less . When we did actually see someone who was cleaning and we asked for a role of paper towel for the kitchen, the look on her was one of exasperation. There were x4 ladies, and none of us would recommend this place. We were there for a week, and they made us feel embarrassed to ask for anything. Not enough garbage bags, etc, and did not provide when asked. It might be ok for one or two days but no longer. Staying here actually hampered our enjoyment of Placencia.
- Julie-kay (10/5): A wonderful well equipped retreat in the trees! - The wooden building was high up in the trees, with great facilities, well equipped kitchen, huge shower, very comfortable beds and wonderful sleeping/tv platform. The net covered balcony was superb and the hammock was very restful. A localised light on the sleeping platform would have been great.
- Morgan (8/5): Very comfy, well-equipped but a bit far from beaches and activities. - The open bathroom.
The room was spacious and comfy. The burners of the kitchen not really appropriate for the equipment.
- Holly (9/5): Superb - The property was really modern and clean, and the directions to access the key were super easy to follow. Being a bit out of town, the property does offer bikes to get into town, but the road was a little busy due to what we believe is the nature of how fast placencia is growing so we opted to drive in as there are no designated side walks. This also meant the road was a little loud early in the AM with all the trucks coming in. Despite that, the view sitting eating our breakfast did make us feel like we were in the trees and away from larger resorts. There is a little beach within a 2 minute walk on the other side of the road from where we were staying (beaches are public in the daytime). The room was also super clean and as we were on the end of the three cabanas, we felt we had nice privacy in our bedroom as it faced the trees. We did reach out to Vacasa during our stay asking clarification on the safe key and only heard back a week after our stay when we were back at home. We had sorted it out, but some of the directions on the property management site are not entirely accurate to what is the case (e.g. they say you will get a safe code but there is a safe key attached to your room key). Small things, but still inaccuracies.
- Katt (3/5): I will never book this location again due to safe issues. - It was a cute treehouse and available channels on TV for football and movies My car was broken into, the back window was busted. I was parked in front of a camera and was told they didn't work. I no longer felt safe in the area and my concerns of safety all the time added additional stress over the time I had remained. I am a sole traveler and this was not a good look especially when that was one of the main reasons I chose Inn The Trees. I believe that's false advertisement and they should reimburse me the same amount I had to pay for the damages.
- Michelle (6/5): Nice economical place to stay but does lack personal touches - Being high in the trees and just across the road from a beach Couple of issues and response was delayed
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Bailey (8/5): Very good -
- Lynda (8/5): Good locations for peace and quiet - The peace and quiet. The balcony was very spacious whilst being enclosed so meant sitting out was bug free, even in the evening. The distance from Placencia buses were not as regular as the time table suggested.
- Ramon (9/5): Superb - It's a spacious cabana surrounded by green. Everything was clean and we loved that we could use bikes, because there is nothing in the neighbourhood. With the bikes it's only 7 minutes to the supermarket. The host was friendly and gave us all the information we needed. We didnt like the bed, it was too soft and didnt support our back. But thats personal. Also there was noise at night from a waterpump.
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional - The design No iron to iron clothes
- Wildy (8/5): Very good -
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional - Central location for our activities. Great breeze that high up.
- Larue (9/5): Beautiful, quite, clean place to stay. - The place was beautiful and fully equipped with everything we needed. The home was clean and checking in was very easy. The AC didn't move much air past the bedroom so our kids were pretty warm by morning. Overall though, would totally stay again.
- Angelica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jan (10/5): A lovely place to stay, a bit away from the hustle of Placencia town - The cabana was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped, the shower was great, and the hammock in the screened porch was very popular. It was nice to have a bedroom plus the loft area for our sons. The on-site staff was very responsive and helpful. The location in Seine Bight is a 15-minute drive from Placencia town, but there is a small beach across the road and other amenities at the nearby resorts. There was nothing about the cabana to dislike – it was great! The main road can be noisy, but there's nowhere on the peninsula that isn't near the main road.
- Tj (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): quiet, clean , well appointed, lovely gardens , peaceful - beautiful cabin in quiet well
maintained gardens … clean snd comfortable and good value it’s quite a distance from the main village and taxis are expensive
- Mills (7/5): Good - Host was super responsive, design of unit interesting, nice to have coffee/blender/salt&pepper, my daughter liked the loft, would be amazing for a longer stay for people looking for R&R or working, was less $ than many other places, again, host was excellent! Road noise was loud, bed is sagging, i missed having a bedside table light so flashlight was appreciated. The nearby beach wasn’t very nice & town was a little bit far.
- Tim (8/5): Very good - beautifull cabanas. really clean en on a very quiet location! fast communication with the owner but in the end they didn’t get things done ore it took a lot of time.
- Robert (9/5): Excellent, would return again! - A unique elevated cabana - literally in the trees - with cooking facilities. There are only 3 units so it does not feel crowded, the bed was comfortable and it was spacious. There is a nice beach across the road, and the proximity to the town of Placencia's beaches provides many options. Nothing we didn't like. A couple of portable garden/lawn chairs that could be moved between the deck and the kitchen/living area would be nice because the 'sofa' that is the only seating option in the kitchen/living area is not comfortable.
- Kaitlyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Monica (9/5): Superb -
- Ritchie (8/5): Very good -
- Vicki (10/5): Exceptional - Location was great
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - Very unique property, like staying in a tree house, nice upgrades too.
- Meagan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jordana (8/5): Delightful, cozy spot! Make sure you have a vehicle. - This is such a cozy space to stay! We loved the open air, rain shower bathroom, the bed was very comfortable and the AC worked well. The veranda was best of all, we had immaculate mornings laying in the hammock sipping coffee. Everything about the space itself was excellent. We also found Sirenian Resort a short walk up the road offers free pool access (as long as you buy drinks/food), which was an excellent bonus. The AC was a bit noisy at times and you can hear the neighbours quite often just doing normal things (using the washroom, shower, chatting among themselves, etc). We had great, respectful neighbours during our stay, there just wasn’t much to be done about hearing each other.
Also, you NEED a vehicle to stay here! This was our personal mistake due to lack of research. Everything is close and accessible by car, not so much by bike or walking. We wouldn’t book again without having access to a golf cart or car.
- Jacqueline (4/5): Wouldn't stay again until they do some repairs. - The idea is great. In a tree! The screen door was broken. The door to the bathroom was hanging off the entire rail. There was no lights in the bedroom, the one in there was broken. The shower drain had a very sharp piece of metal sticking out.
- Gemma (8/5): Fun and comfortable tree house stay - We loved the design of the tree house, so cute and comfortable. Bed was comfy, and great to have a little kitchen set up. Quick drive to Placencia village Closer to the sound of the road than we thought, luckily the road isn’t busy but it isn’t completely quiet. There was a loud vibration noise every 60 seconds or so throughout the night, sounds like a water pump trying to work. They were aware of it and hadn’t had it fixed yet. So disappointing the stay wasn’t as tranquil as we thought it’d be.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erika (8/5): Very good -
- Carlos (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - great location and easy access no wash cloths and no extra blankets for the pull out bed.
- Robert (9/5): Loved the stay. So relaxing and would recomend the stay to anyone. - When we arrived the keys were right on the counter. We also had extra reading that helped us know the area. Places to visit and places to eat. It just took a little bit to contact the owner. We have to use What'sApp to contact.
- Rhode (1/5): Bad -
- Gilbert (10/5): Excellent stay! - Exceeded my expectations. Spent an entire day at the cabana just relaxing and writing and it was the perfect place to do that! There was some loud noise from the adjacent cabana at night but the hosts took prompt action! Nothing!
- Carlos (9/5): Superb -
- Talia (9/5): Superb -
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lumpford (10/5): must stay - by far the best place I’ve stayed in my 8 months of traveling. it felt like your own full house, they definitely made the most of the square footage. the bathroom was stunning, incredible hot shower. the owners were amazing!!! so helpful and kind. thank you, highly highly recommend only bad part was it was 40 minute bike ride into town or 30 Belize dollars for one way into town (or 50 round trip) but if you’re willing to bike, the bikes are free!! closest food and shop is about 20 min walk
