- Susanna (6/5): Fair - We were meet by the host, who showed us around the house and provided us with a lot of useful information about the area, including were to do some shopping and where to eat. There were a lot of brochures that were helpful. The house is situated in a great location for bike riding, walks and exploring the battlefields. There is parking outside. The Wifi is excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable. We did not use the garden, as there was too much vegetation to navigate around, so cannot comment, although we were showed around. Lovely patio with table and chairs outside that was under cover. I try not to read too much into reviews as we all have our different expectations and we try to make up our own minds about a property. Photos whiles useful do not always tell a bigger picture. For a holiday home, we found this place too cluttered, dusty and dirty in places. There was very little room to put anything, either in cupboards or on top. It has very little natural lighting and whilst we love fairy lights we found that the internal lights were not bright enough. It states that there are 3 bedrooms, the main one is upstairs, but the second is in the utility room and one behind a screen in the lounge. Unfortunately, there was a slight sewage type smell from the kitchen sink and in the utility room. We did report this and the host said that he would arrange someone to sort it out. With a good deep clean, decluttering and maintenance this would be a great holiday home.
