Guest Reviews
- Lyn (7/5): We had a lovely and relaxing break, a good respite after a very hectic few months! - The location of this property was excellent, the views from our balcony was beautiful &serene. ..felt very private and quiet. (just what we needed for some rest & a peaceful weekend)
- dora (10/5): -
- Roy (8/5): Appliances not working distracted from the experience - Hamper was not delivered until about 5.30pm
Neith he BBQ or the stove lighters worked but were able to use with matches. The Stove looked brand new so may not have been installed / checked proerly
- Lee (10/5): Lovely location easy access with host. Highly recommended - Beautiful location, house had all the amenities comfy beds
- Moira (9/5): Exceptional location with beautiful view and all facilities for comfortable stay - Location, cleanliness, facilities Only thing is one of the windows needs repaired properly, looks like someone has tried to fix it but it still howls a bit when it’s windy which was annoying!
- Fern (10/5): Hillview is the perfect place for a relaxing retreat. - Our stay at Hillview was delightful. This peaceful home itself sits at the peak of the hill with the beautiful verandah overlooking spectacular untouched bushland. The beautiful floral garden attracts native birds and kangaroos. The cottage itself is decorated beautifully and is well-equipped with everything you could possible need. Hillview provided us with an opportunity for the perfect peaceful getaway. Such serenity... We wouldn't change a thing!
- Lee (8/5): We really enjoyed our stay and we loved the location. - Beautiful views, lovely gardens and walks, loads of birds. Cosy and comfortable. The bathroom was newly renovated, and the toilet is separate. It was a little difficult to find. It is attached to another chalet in the complex.
- Michael (7/5): Good - Location Finding the property
- Kira (5/5): Good view but freezing in winter - The view was lovely. Bathroom and garden were nicely renovated. Staff were available to support and responsive. The space was clean. Sufficient kitchen utensils etc however no sponge was provided or long life milk (standard inclusions for 99% of rentals). Lack of suitable heating - one small electric heater and two tiny oil heaters completely insufficient for the space. Even with the two additional oil heaters brought in, the accommodation was still freezing. Not suitable for children in winter.
Bed mattress was soft and bed frame very old and creaky.
The kitchen and lounge are dated, somewhat misrepresented in the photos.
Access instructions were not accurate - it's not clear from the address in the booking confirmation that it's actually one of the far chalets at the back of the Yallingup Forest Resort.
- Lorry (10/5): Cosy Cottage hidden away - Location and view fantastic. Clean and roomy. Excellent supply of sundries and everything needed to hand. Comfortable furnishings. Felt like home from home. Suggestion - a hoover would have been handy 😀
- Salome (9/5): - Although the house was old, the bathrooms must have had a recent reno, so that was great. There was portable heating in the rooms, which was good for the cold nights. Getting to the place was hard. No proper direction from the staff. There are no signs from the main entrance to the chalet.
- Rorobyn (10/5): Exceptional - Privacy , comfort , location
- Heinrich (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location
- Hannah (1/5): Terrible do not book - The property was double booked, we arrived with our two children and were excited, it was tucked away in beautiful scenery, the house was clean and tidy, we went back outside to get our bags to find another couple who were booked into the same house as us. The company did nothing to rectify this. We were 3 hours from home, two young children and no where to go. They offered to find us something else but no communication after all. The other couple booked months ago for 5 nights so we decided to let them have it. I had even called to confirm, confirmation was given, lock box codes were given, confirmation emails etc. I’m even still receiving “how was your stay” emails. So so disappointing!
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (9/5): Great location , nice view , comfortable stay - Great location
- Julie (9/5): Superb - Quiet
- Jennifer (9/5): A peaceful retreat with expansive views across green treetops. -
- Lauren (7/5): Awesome view, cute house - The view No dishwasher or place to store food in the kitchen.
No aircon in the bedrooms and the mobile unit in the lounge did not cope well.
- Livingston (6/5): Great location with fantastic views but the hosts MRP were not super helpful. - Location and the glorious views across the valley. Having to pay a bond that wasn’t mentioned until after we paid in full for the accomodation. No private pool as promoted, it’s a shared pool with 35 other houses! Communication from the hosts MRP was not great until after we left. They wouldn’t allow a little extra time with checkout when we asked because one of our family members was unwell. Would recommend Yallingup Forest Resort instead on the same property as the hosts were super helpful and no bond was required.
- Chelsea (9/5): Only stay 1 night on our way home to Perth 2 mum drive town , beautiful clean drinking water lovely wildlife , house has - Very comfortable nice view the friendly Kookaburras were a lovely surprise obviously use to being hand feed but very lucky for the experience Nothing
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
- Peggy (10/5): Exceptional -
- O'rourke (8/5): Relaxing enjoyable stay. - Spacious and lovely view. Not enough information on attractions on and around accommodation. The BBQ needs attention.
- Catherine (8/5): Therapeutic in a beautiful space with clean fresh air and beautiful bushland - Quiet away from everyone and everything Nothing much to complain about but had everything we needed
- Tandy-sue (9/5): Superb - Lovely setting, very comfortable
- Natalie (8/5): Very good - The location was excellent and the beds were really comfortable. I would definitely recommend this property to others. There was a crackling noise when you turned on the light in the second bedroom.
- Coyle (9/5): Superb -
- Wayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Howard (8/5): Very good - Beautiful location. Lovely and quiet.
- Samantha (10/5): A great relaxing week with family in fabulous accommodation - It was so cosy and very comfortable. Ammenities great and fantastic view and location Nothing
- Gemma (3/5): Disappointing stay - We arrived to the property not being cleaned. It took numerous phone calls to get through to someone. We were eventually sent to another cottage as they had no one to clean the one we were staying in that day. We also asked for a cot and was told it would be set up, but it was not set up when we returned to the cottage we were supposed to be at from the start, so we set one up ourselves. It was an inconvenience to go to another property and then back to this one the following day. I was offered the full cleaning fee be refunded, which was a fraction of what we paid for the property. No other compensation was offered for the inconvenience. I had to follow up after our stay as we didn't get any communication regarding the cleaning fee refund. I found the communication to be abysmal and am extremely disappointed. I would recommend staying in another property where you will get good customer service and communication.
- Lindi (8/5): We loved the situation but feel it needs an update re furniture - Location was great The furniture was second hand and outdoor furniture needs replacing and the fridges didn’t work well
- Reyhan (8/5): Pleasant, relaxing stay in the bush - Gorgeous views, comfortable chairs overlooking the valley below on the deck. Decent cutlery and crockery, some basic provisions provided: oil, salt/pepper, sachets of coffee (a little old tasting), BBQ. House was clean with decent shampoo/conditioner and hand soaps. Fairly quiet once Caves Road noise dies down. Cosy pleasant spot, fairly central to towns and touristy spots. Main failure was the absolute nightmare to book the place and how hard it was to get in contact with the host to fix it in the beginning. The booking.com integration must be fixed.
Toilet cramped with little extra sink, felt like an airplane toilet.
Toilet paper was cheap and nasty less than single ply, not what I'd expect in premium accommodation.
No sponge or chux wipes to wash dishes properly - bring your own, supplied brush did not clean grease off dishes so there was residue on them from the previous people (I had to burn my hands to wash ours properly).
Shower water spray not contained in the cubicle so the floor was quite slippery - multiple bath mats would have been good to help with this.
Bed frame needs replacing or maintenance, extremely squeaky with slightest movement, mattress could also be replaced but less urgent.
BBQ missing one of the turning knobs and also hard to light because the remaining knob has been rounded out so it doesn't grip.
- Colette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessica (9/5): Exactly what I needed! - Such a great quiet location. The perfect spot if you are after some pretty views that feels isolated but close to town. Comfortable bed. Needs a little update in the kitchen (sink) but has new bathrooms which is nice.
- Brad (10/5): Exceptional - The views were amazing. Birds everywhere. Just peaceful. Everything supplied for a stress free weekend.
- Scott (10/5): Great stay - The view phenomenal. The place was clean and well stocked with utensils etc. Contacting staff was great. Asked if I could have an extra 2 people stay for one night no problems.
- Helen (7/5): Good -
- Andoni (9/5): Superb - Location and quietness Bedding
- Hermann (10/5): Loved our stay! - Great location with view over bushland. Comfortable King size bed. Access to Yallingup Forrest Resort facilities such as pool and tennis court. Renovated Bathroom. Well kitted out with everything we needed. Sharing walls with owners next door, although they were respectful and keep the surroundings in good shape. Traffic noise from Caves road on occasion.
- Keir (6/5): Fantastic location, with very basic kitchen facilities. - A lovely location, and very tranquil view looking over the coastal bush. Very quiet and relaxing. Bedrooms were comfortable. Upon arrival we found that basic kitchen cleaning items such as sponges and scourers hadn't been provided. Despite requesting these from the management on our first day, they were never delivered as promised. We had to purchase our own cleaning products from Coles.
The kitchen is also in need of renovation. The sink is very worn, and the cupboards and drawers require more thorough cleaning. The chalet's bedrooms and bathrooms are fine, but the kitchen lets it down.
- Darius (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (5/5): Ok - Setting Utensils were old and need updating
- Shreejana (10/5): Found the perfect place for my gateway. It has all the facilities required, it was clean and perfect for my family. Look - It was very clean, gorgeous and peaceful. I loved the location, which is one of the best part of this property.
- Kelli (8/5): Perfect family escape, surrounded by trees with an incredible view. - Superb location, close enough to Dunsborough, but far enough away to avoid the school holiday crowds.
The property managers were in regular communication, and available to help if needed.
Hillview had everything we needed to enjoy our three night stay. It was superbly clean, with crisp fresh linen and towels. Beds were comfortable and we loved waking up to that incredible view! The only limitation for us was that there was nowhere to store groceries that we brought with us for our stay.

- Fionnuala (10/5): Exceptional - The view was amazing. The cottage was lovely & v. private.
Lots of communication re stay. Could have been more direction on entering got confused with the lodge sign. Dirt track to apartments so was a bit unsure initially where to go.
- Tracy (9/5): perfect location, great amenities and value for money. would definitely stay again - the views were stunning and it had everything we needed could do with a bath mat and mirror in the spare room.
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - The location, being at the top of the hill looking over the trees, I would not really have liked to be at the bottom of the hill. Somebody was clearing the land on a machine and kicking up lots of dust. When it was really windy at night we could hear a roof panel vibrating, might need a screw or two 😉.
The mattress in the king bed was a little soft and collapsing on the left side.
- Chelsea (10/5): highly recommend! - Beautiful location and property! It had everything we needed and is a central location close to multiple wineries and breweries.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - perfect location, view, peace and serenity! nothing
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marina (9/5): Superb -
