Guest Reviews
- Dennis (10/5): - Awesome location!
- Denyce (10/5): - The view is breathtaking. Owners of the property are very nice easy to talk to and super helpful. Definitely worth staying at Pelican Ridge specially for whole big families đź’• would love to go back in the summer đź’•

- Lidia (8/5): Wonderful setting in the Waterton area. - Gorgeous setting on a lake. Spacious apartment. The property is very cheaply furnished. There is a loose headboard in one of the bedrooms. There are a number of rules (e.g. threatening a charge of $10 for missing towels) leading us to believe that perhaps the proprietors have had bad experiences in the past. The windows and sliding doors need some attention as far as cleanliness.
- Jan (10/5): Escape from reality! - This house is amazing. The location and design are both fabulous. We loved it. We had fantastic views of the lake and the mountains. Peace and tranquility in abundance. The house itself is well equipped, and the master bedroom is beautiful. It was a lovely relaxing few days after a hectic week and in a good place for us to explore the area. We loved everything about it. It is a bit difficult to find at first - better directions would help - not a complaint, just an observation. You need to come prepared with shopping as it is beautifully remote. Wrap up warm as the uncontrollable wind caught us out a couple of times.
- Jenn (3/5): Cleanliness and host response are problematic - The view was the beautiful, but didn't make up for the shortcomings. This house appears new and clean in photos, but pay attention to the reviews starting to pop up since it is newer to the rental market. Cleanliness, and the cheapness in which it was built and put together (and the host's responses), are problematic and could affect your stay.
The house was half cleaned when we arrived. At its most basic level: Dirty windows, floors, kitchen drawers, cabinets, coffee maker, and food stuck inside the fridge. There was also unemptied trash, a still-full dryer, items in the washer, etc. At a higher level: maintenance issues everywhere...dust on the fans, splatter on the kitchen lights, stains on the couch...
The house itself has other issues. Flys and earwigs everywhere. There are also issues with normal conveniences like TVs--the one in the bedroom doesn't work, the one in the living room echos so loudly it makes it hard to watch (pro tip: place a pillow behind it under the speakers and it makes it bearable).
The worst part...when working to address the cleanliness issue, the host did not take ownership, apologize, or offer to send their cleaning service back out to finish up. Instead, they line-by-lined each issue with what THEY thought was an issue or not. Then, they offered to reimburse a small amount of money first and then the remainder ONLY if I would leave a favorable review. I opted to leave a review instead as this is info I would like to know prior to renting--we had to spend our first night there cleaning, no one should need to do that with a paid rental. SO, here I am, leaving my first bad review ever.
Also for consideration, we stayed in the upstairs unit. It's connected to the downstairs unit with a precariously locked double door that you can see through between cracks. We were thankful no one was in that unit, as the doors are by no means secure, should someone want to get through. (It may not matter at all for some, but it's good information to have.)
- Kaitan (9/5): Lovely, modern and spacious home in mint condition with lake and mountain views - Spacious and in mint condition. Gorgeous view. Well stocked in almost all respects. Nice A/C system. There is no dishwasher, which is not ideal, but there is also no dish rack making it difficult to dry dishes. The internet is just enough to stream video but is not well suited for remote work when needed during a stay.
- Will (8/5): Great home located a short drive from Waterton - Beautiful views, location, nice house, very comfortable. Dark Quiet location, but in the basement suite you can hear the people upstairs. Lots of bumpy gravel road to travel on. Your car will get very dusty or muddy if rainy.
Being on a lake there are lots of bugs trying to get in!
Housekeeping could be improved, but minor issues.
- Roy (6/5): - The location and view are outstanding The BBQ was a disaster. The fridge, stove and cutlery drawer were very dirty. There is an issue with Ear Wig control.
- llergl (8/5): Pleasant stay and not too far from Waterton. - The location is on a lake 20 min from Waterton and has a lovely view. The rooms were spacious. The King room pretty much just had an extra sheet for the comforter but since the 4th bedroom wasn't being used we grabbed the comforters out of that bedroom. The room was quite warm compared to the rest of the basement suite so we needed to leave the window open at night for air flow. We had people upstairs that walked with a heavy foot which was quite loud. The water cistern alarm went off at 7:30 in the morning but we didn't have access to turn it off so we had to wait 15 min for the people upstairs to turn it off. The fridge was super small and dark and one had to bend way over to see what was in it and there isn't much counter space to set things. The lights in the living space are all or nothing when turning on and off. It would be nice to be able to have just two of the pot lights on so it wasn't so bright. There is a floor lamp but that makes the room very dim. The lock box was a bit fussy to close it with the key in it but we finally managed after several attempts.
- Mascha (5/5): The view is great but the house has too many flaws - The house is located on a beautiful spot with a great view over the lake and relatively close to Waterton lakes park. - The house looks new and modern but already need some renovations as stuff is worn and broken.
- For a house with sleeps for 8 there are not enough mugs and glasses (only 4 of each) and the kitchen is very small.
- There is no dishwasher washer in the lower level unit.
- There is a BBQ but no outside dining table.
- We had a lot of noise from the upstairs neighbours and the aircon / heating unit just next to the bedroom window.
- the windows and shower curtain were not clean.
- During our stay the septic tank was emptied by a truck, which gave a horrible smell around the house.
- JENYIN (8/5): - Nearby to the lake Let us do the garbage
- Vladimir (8/5): Very good -
- Isabel (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location
- Molly (10/5): Best spot when visiting Waterton - Such a great location and incredible incredible views (the pictures don't do it justice), very comfortable home with lots of space for everyone, very clean, so close to Waterton (~20 min to town centre) but far enough away for some peace and quiet at the end of the day. Super for our family, would love to come and stay longer.
- Boney (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about the property was excellent , the view , the comfort everything!
- Michael (9/5): We had a very pleasant stay and would return again should we ever return to the Waterton area. - The location was very quiet and peaceful. The view outstanding! Interior had everything we needed. We had a very enjoyable stay. Wise decision not to disclose it's a couple of miles of gravel roads to the house.
- Laury (7/5): Good - Great location The water was terrible we had to buy jugs and bring in from town.
A lot of earwigs inside.
- Perrott (8/5): Lovely, fresh house with great views. - Great location, about 30 minutes from central Waterton. There was lots of space for the 6 of us in the upper suite. Kitchen facilities were good, and the beds were comfortable. Upon arrival, the dishwasher, which had been run, had dishes that were far from clean. We had to wash most of the dishes, glasses and utensils before we could use them. Due to the proximity to the lake and lots of grasses and weeds, there were a lot of earwigs in and around the house. They don't bite or cause problems, but there was the 'ick' factor.
- Olena (8/5): It was a pleasure staying in the unit. - Location. Proximity to the lake. There was no dishwasher - the dishes weren’t very clean and pots and pans were greasy. It would be also nice to wash the windows to enhance the view.
- Shanna (6/5): Nice home, not convenient if planning on spending most time in Waterton, and expensive stay for only one floor. - The home was new, clean and big. Located on a lake and an amazing view of the mountains, sunset, and water. The ad says that it is a “entire house” but the reservations are only for the bottom or top floor. So you could potentially have strangers above or below you in the same house during your stay. Expensive stay for how far out of town it is. A little farther from Waterton than expected. The grass was not cut around the deck or down to the water. Dishes were greasy in the cupboards. The owners are asking for $50 USD for a pillow case that they cannot locate. The bed was stripped and put into the washing machine, so it’s likely that the case is tucked inside the duvet cover, beside or behind the machine as it was not removed from the property. Also fairly difficult to find.
- Lizel (10/5): Had a wonderful time and will be back for sure!! - Awesome views from the patio.
Great location away from the hustle and bustle.
Very relaxing Sometimes noise from other guests from the lower level can be heard from the connecting doors that divide the two houses.
- Shuang (8/5): It was a good experience overall. - Great views and location. The house is well maintained and clean. We enjoyed watching the waterfowl and the lake. The short lakeshore walk was also pleasant. It was a little tricky to find the house due to lack of physical address.
- Angela (8/5): Overall we really enjoyed the property - Perfect for watching sunsets over the mountains. Lots of space. Close enough to Waterton park. The yard is unkept and it wasn’t that easy to find. House isn’t numbered and the directions given do not match google maps.
- Unseen (8/5): Very good - The location There was no perfect way to reach to the property, Google Map leads from wrong direction , which leads to Dead end.
They should include the perfect map photograph, so new guest will be at ease to find properly and doesn't waste their time
- Ted (9/5): It was a nice house in a Great location on the lake. We enjoyed our stay there. - It was a bit hard to find the place. It's a bit off the grid but the owner sent instructions that got us there.
- Chris (8/5): Very good - The location is great. The house is wonderful for the most part. The owners are great to work with. Loud neighbors upstairs, a few house items were not up to par for the price you pay.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Allan (8/5): There was plenty of room for six people and it was quiet for the most part. - The view and location The forest fire smoke was strong. There were no support bars for the tub for handicapped people. There were no chairs in the bedroom.
- Carrie (9/5): Superb - stunning views!!
