Guest Reviews
- aki (9/5): - The view from the windows.
- chiqui2 (10/5): - Comfort, cleanliness and the propane fire pit.
- Rachel Stewart (10/5): -
- Carole (10/5): Loved it. Definitely would come back - Quiet location All was good
- Dalfino (10/5): -
- Mary (8/5): - Quiet peaceful, clean. Comfortable bed Slippery tub, be careful
- Karen (10/5): We had a great adventure in Port Renfrew and the cabin was a great place to call home while there. - It was so cozy, clean, everything we needed and the view was a bonus.
- Sandra (8/5): -
- Guido (1/5): Misleading listing, zero communication, and unfair charges. - I booked this property the same day and drove from Victoria to Renfrew, BC. We arrived about two hours early and went to see the location before check-in. The cabin was extremely small, squeezed into a very narrow space, and had no meaningful nature view as implied in the listing. The reality did not match the expectations created by the photos and description.
Because of this, we decided not to stay and immediately requested a cancellation. We understood there would be a $75 cancellation fee and were willing to accept that. Instead, we selected the option to request a full refund due to the circumstances â and received absolutely no response from the property.
Booking instructed us to contact the establishment directly. Despite sending messages through the app, we never received any reply. The complete lack of communication is unacceptable.
Even more concerning is being charged $131 in cleaning fees when we never even entered the cabin.
This experience reflects extremely rigid policies, zero flexibility for exceptional situations, and very poor customer service. I strongly advise other travelers to think carefully before booking, especially if you expect transparency, communication, or reasonable handling of unexpected situations.
- Janine (8/5): Relaxing retreat close to nature places - Cabin feels cozy, nestled up against a rock wall. Afternoon sunshine (March) on the deck. Nice gas fireplace, fire pit for bonfires, bbq, stove and oven. Close to stores, a short drive from Botanical Beach. Feels small inside, especially for 3 or 4 adults, though the deck adds a lot of outdoor space- it was colder when we visited, so quite cozy with all of us inside. Is in a subdivision of cabins, not in the forest. The campfire and deck are partly visible from the road, so partly though not totally private.
- Carolyne (10/5): -
- Sharlene (10/5): - No coffee, as the coffee grinder was not working
- ian (8/5): Cozy, well-equipped cabin. -
- Mykhaylo (9/5): An absolutely wonderful and stress-free stay with thoughtful hospitality and a beautiful setting. - We truly enjoyed our stay.
We were pleasantly surprised by a wonderful complimentary bonus - the host sent us a message early in the morning on the day of arrival offering early check-in at any time convenient for us instead of the standard 4 PM. That was incredibly thoughtful and very much appreciated. A fantastic extra touch.
The cottage itself was lovely. Everything was spotless, and the bed was very comfortable. Check-in and check-out were simple and convenient.
The location is beautiful, and honestly, we cannot find a single thing to mention negatively. Only positive impressions and sincere thanks for the complimentary early check-in.
Highly recommended!
- Larissa (8/5): - Location, ease of check in, nice to get 2 cabins close together - but one cabin was much more spacious than the other. Cleanliness, the floors and surfaces were a bit dusty.

- Stacy (10/5): -
- Kiersten (8/5): -

- Denise (9/5): It was great! - Great place to stay. Use the barbecue, fire pit and propane fireplace. Spent as much time as possible outside but the cottage was comfortable and clean and beds comfortable. I would go back.
- Kim (10/5): Amazing đ - Loved the property, quite, beautiful view. Everything you need. Maybe no access to water front
- robin (6/5): A decent place for 2 people. Can walk to the brewery! - Beautiful view of the lake, but there is no lake access. Yhe stairs down to the lake are blocked of- probably need work. Cleanliness was a factor. Hotdog rappers by the grill from the previous users I assume. Sheets for the pull out couch had a dead worm in one. Little detergent to wash it with. Kitchen was clean, chair was comfortable.
- Mark (7/5): All and all it was a nice stay. - The heat was turned way down to 5 when we arrived it took a very long time to heat it up. Should be wanmed up for your arivel.
- Tricia (10/5): It was a wonderful stay - The ocean view of the property is amazing! The place is clean and equipped with everything we need. Itâs a home away from home. We love the sound of the ocean when you open the slidings doors/windows. We will definitely come back. Nothing
- Jane (10/5): -
- Andy (10/5): - The cabin was clean and cozy. Had everything we needed for a quick weekend getaway The Jays lost game 5 while we were there, but there was a TV and cable to watch the game
- Michele (9/5): We stayed for 6 nights, and it was excellent. Cozy, well maintained and had all the amenities that you could think of. T - Amenities were great, location right in this small cozy community and it had everything you would need.
- Carolyn (9/5): Could have stayed longer, one night was not enough - Chalet was very well equipped and very comfortable. Everything worked well and was easy to find everything. Chalet number (#10) was not visible from the street. Pricing was strange, ie advertised at $145 a night but the small print said "plus $150 for extras including $130 for cleaning". This is misleading so chalet was really almost $300 per night.
- Katherine (8/5): Lovely. - Location with o ram view was very nice. The only thing we couldn't find was the tea pot.
- Rucha (10/5): Lovely atmosphere - We loved the cosy space. This is our 2ns visit this year. The view is amazing all day. Nothing
- Emma (8/5): Perfect quiet spot for a couple of nights away - Well equipped for self catering, lovely cosy cabin. We couldnât find a colander to drain pasta, but only a small minor! Lovely spot to stay a few days. Our only major negative was the lack of a well stocked grocery store nearby.
- JOHN (9/5): Great chalet with special view. - Really great place to stay in Port Renfrew, the chalet had everything you needed and a great view from the balcony. Very quiet area which really felt like you were staying in the middle of nowhere! We had a power cut for a few hours in the evening which meant we couldnât cook what we had planned and had to light some candles but wasnât too bad.

- September (10/5): Wonderful - Quiet and well maintained
- Caitlyn (10/5): -
- Maralea (6/5): - It's looking dated, there's a lot of damage to walls that are covered with stickers of bugs.
- Heike (10/5): - Sehr gemĂŒtliches Cottage mit Blick auf das Wasser, tolle Terrasse, volle Ausstattung, easy Check in
- Paul (7/5): - Good location, easy walk to places to eat.
Good WiFi.
Well equipped kitchen. We had trouble finding the property and getting in. We were not sent the email regarding the code for getting into the property until mid morning on the day of our arrival. This was after we had left our previous hotel and WiFi access. Thankfully another couple allowed us to access their internet so that we could download the email with the information. Certainly clearer instructions sent at least a day before would have helped.
- Cindy (10/5): -
- Trevor (10/5): -
- Stacey (8/5): - The location, the vue. The réception. Disappointed there was no BBQ or cook top
- Ursula (9/5): -
- Johannes (8/5): - GemĂŒtlich, gute Ausstattung der KĂŒche. Anreise war schwierig, Wegbeschreibung ungenau.
- Deana (10/5): Would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend to others. - The cabin was perfect for two of us .
The location was great , cabin and property were clean and was quiet. We were very happy and wanted for nothing.
- Ronald (10/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): Sweet spot west coast style - Very cozy, felt like home. We wanted for nothing in terms of amenities. Very thoughtfully done. The view from the deck was amazing! The caretaker was very sweet and had a lot of great recommendations on what to do. Not much I didn't like except that we didn't book for longer
- Martin (8/5): Very happy with our little cabin!! - Very quaint, clean, and roomy cottage for the two of us. Coastal view would have been nice.
- TYSON (9/5): -
- Kate (10/5): -
- jkimelman (6/5): Disappointed with serious lack of staff communication - The place was clean. It is a lovely cabin with a view in a peaceful, though crowded (with other cabins) vacation development. There was a problem with the electricity and the owner let us know half the lights in the kitchen would not work. No offer of bringing extra lights to help in the meantime. When we got there, the main light in the adjacent living room was also out. We messaged requesting help and she never got back to us. We tried calling twice and she never got back to us.
The place was over twice as expensive as a beautiful b&b we stayed in the previous night (also through booking.com).
I think this place is overpriced and the owner needs to communicate.
Plus it would have been nice if she gave a list of local grocery and businesses. The place is remote and that would have helped.

Bed was comfortable Bedroom is a bit too small (no room for suitcases)
- Robyn (9/5): would stay again - Lovely typical Canadain Chalet in the woods. Handy to everything, Quiet & private, quirky. Sofa bed was OK but not great
- Marisa (8/5): Very good - Cute little cottage, well appointed and suitable for an overnight stay. Kitchen and barbq were great. Bedroom and bathroom small but all worked fine. Screened, opening windows essential. We found it a little hard to find, although text info from Clare was helpful. Lots of places with similar names

- Byron (7/5): Good - Good and clean close to everything . Needs a bigger hot water tank.
- Lisa (7/5): Very remote and beautiful views! But bundle up! - Beautiful location, clean.
But we were freezing and couldnât get the heat up.
The snow was blocking the doorway and it was frozen shut. There wasnt anything cleared away.

Lovely views though. See above

Lovely location, spacious house, everything you could want for a nice getaway, wish I could have stayed longer as there are plenty of beaches to explore and the small village has everything you could need for a few days away.
