Guest Reviews
- Amberlynn (8/5): -
- Melodie (9/5): Comfortable and clean - The view was breathtaking and the cabin was cozy and clean. That the firepit was shared with the other cabins.
- Dana (9/5): Cabin mit tollem Blick - Gemütliche Cabin mit tollem Blick - man kann bis in die Berge von Montana schauen. Gute Ausstattung zum kochen. Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit!
- Christopher (10/5): -
- Elisabeth (9/5): -
- Fiona (8/5): - Very cute and well done, nicely decorated.
Comfortable beds.
Quiet location. Booked 2 cabins, one with a king size bed, but the bed was a queen, a king would not have fit in the room.
Couldn’t control the temperature using the thermostat, so the cabin was really too warm for comfortable sleeping, had to get up to open the window at 3:30 am to try to cool it down. Not ideal.
- Dunham (10/5): We had a great time visiting Glacier and Waterton National Parks as this was our first trip to the area. - Beautiful view. Quiet neighborhood. Good cell phone connection. Nothing
- Amy (10/5): We started our Alberta trip here and it set the bar really high. We loved our cabin! - These self-contained units were perfect for our family. Everyone had their own bed, there was all the kitchen stuff we needed, and it was nicely furnished in a western theme. Beds were super comfortable and sheets and towels were spotless. The location is awesome and the view from the back was magical. We will definitely recommend to friends and family and hopefully return ourselves someday! Everything was fantastic and usage areas were spotlessly clean, just some of the decor high up on the walls/shelves needed a dusting.
- CanadianBrooks (2/5): Great location but property not up to standard - stay had to be aborted without resolution. - The location was convenient to the Waterton Lakes National Park entrance, ample room for parking and simple access to the property via an emailed key code. Pre arrival communication was reasonable, including an email about guest expectations and the rules of the stay. Small play area opposite the property that might be available for kids. No mention of facilities not being available or changes to the advertised description, when raising issues with owner one limited response that did not resolve issues and then no communication. The property was really dirty, stained bathroom, broken smoke detector and so unsuitable for a stay with a young child that we had to abandon the stay as soon as we had made alternative booking first thing in the morning.
- Clara (10/5): -
- Shiela (8/5): We absolutely enjoyed our stay, my kids really their beds i mean own bed😊We really like the ambiance of the place. The p - The accessibility of the place. Convenient and welcoming atmosphere actually not really like, it's just we can't used their TV, as the owner informed us already that we can use for DVD or for own Netflix account.
I cant login in my Netflix account that time and Im travelling with my kids that looking for some entertainment and they want to watch something.
- Annie (9/5): Quiet cozy comfortable farmhouse cottage. - Nice country air 20 minutes from the mountains cute comfortable little country cottages with beautiful views. Quiet well equipped. We had a great three night stay. BBQ and log fire place. We didn’t use but is there. Easy drive to horse riding 🏇 and to Waterton Lakes National Park
- Loraine (9/5): Superb -
- Adriana (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely beautiful location and cabin. It was 2 floors with a big area upstairs. Super cozy, comfy beds, huge grass area and small playground for kids to play. View was amazing. We'll definitely be back That I only booked 2 nights. Should have booked a week!
- Vincent (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cabin with stunning views and lose proximity to waterton
- Leng (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (9/5): Beautiful views, quiet. - Waterton town is approximately 20 minutes by car. There is a good general store in Mountain Haven , only 5 minutes away, that sells all you would need, plus they serve food until 8.30pm. A basic menu but was tasty.
- Zinyemba (5/5): Great place but inability to lock door from outside made the stay slightly uncomfortable. - Location is great, the cabins are cute and well constructed. The beds are good and facilities overall great. Keypad for entry into the cabin did not work on arrival and for the duration of our stay, which meant the door could not be locked from the outside. I was told it would be fixed in our absence (we had a day hike planned) but we returned to find that it had not been fixed so . So anyone could have walked in to the cabin and stolen our property.
Similarly, the smoke alarm was chirping and required the battery to be replaced. This was also not addressed.
- Jacy (5/5): Passable - Beautiful, quiet location
- Nicole (9/5): Superb - 20 minutes from Waterton National Park and 1 hour from glacier. Very comfortable. Beautiful view Dish towels for the kitchen would be nice. Information about the area would be helpful- grocery stores, food recommendations, etc.
- D (7/5): If only the owners put in an extra 2% effort, it would be perfect. - Very cozy. Private. Picturesque scenery, easy to find, clean on lower surfaces. very nice fireplace. full fridge and stove, water on demand, Nicely decorated for cabin theme. The reservation was for 4 people. Only 1 wash cloth, 2 towels available for the hot tub no tea towels, Plates, glasses, shelves, lighting, and displays very dusty, Dirty shower curtain. Dish soap very watered down. When host was asked for some better dish soap, a little girl showed up with 1/4 cup in the bottom of a bottle.
- Miklos (10/5): Stop reading, make a reservation instead - I love these cabin type stays to start with, so when my wife suggested the place it was a no brainer.
Cute small house, well equipped, clean, comfortable with breathtaking views.
I probably won’t book a 7 people stay, but perfect for a family of 5.
We needed a break and that is exactly what the place provided.
- Gisele (9/5): The reprieve we all needed…enjoying a little piece of mountain paradise! - The view was exceptional! The cabin we were in was clean, tastefully themed decor, had everything that we needed. A local young kitty visiting us outdoors was a bonus! We’ve named him Oreo…what a sweetie! The oven was not working but we had no need of it and they had let us know, the heat would not turn on so not sure why.
We were visiting Waterton National Park and it was a 25 minute drive to the park gate.
I definitely would go back and recommend to family and friends! Beautiful property! Just the heating issue mentioned above.
- Jayne (8/5): Very good -
- Anton (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, very helpful owners (thank you, Steve!), clean, comfortable. Nicely appointed. Not enough storage space. Could use more drawers, kitchen cabinets etc..
We had a large group, stayed multiple nights so had a lot of stuff.
- Melanie (7/5): Clean and well kept, but very small for adult family of 4. - Nice and cozy little cabin. Liked the decor, property was clean and well kept. Cozy but much smaller than anticipated on the main floor. The loft was the best part of the cabin as there was room to spread out a bit. The separate bedroom was too small to be comfortable, had to leave luggage in the front porch area could not fit it into the room and still be able to walk around the bed. While it was very nice to have cooking facilities which is important to our family, it was not really enough space to be practical having groceries during our stay as there is little space in the main area. The bathroom is also very small but was manageable. If we had just been staying here as a couple, or with very small kids it would have been enough room probably, but with a teen and another adult it was just not big enough.
- Kristina (8/5): Great view!! - We loved that it felt more like home rather than a hotel. The location was ideal for going in to Waterton park. The best part was the view!!! Nothing really to complain about
- Willemijn (8/5): Very good -
- Zenaida (10/5): A wonderful place to stay. - The place was very nice. The ambiance was wonderful and you can really relax. The children enjoyed it because there was a playground.
- Jacopo (9/5): Perfect place near Waterton lakes - Perfect organised cabin with fa tactic open views, perfectly furnished
- Sheila (10/5): A comfortable, clean, well appointed space. Great location for access to different activities. - The upstairs area was spacious and a great place to hang out and share the pictures of the day. We even streamed a couple of movies. Lots of room to gather. The only thing we would have changed would be a slightly larger main floor bedroom, but we did just fine.
- Zoya (2/5): Awful experience - The location is close to Waterton Park (22 min drive from the cabin). The mattresses are comfy. Keyless entry. We stayed in the left cabin. The cabin was not cleaned after the previous guests! Only the sheets were changed. Everything in the bathroom was filthy. The toilet had other people's fluids under and around the seat, shower cabin's floor and walls had all sorts of stains and the shower curtain was no longer white, but light brown due to its age I guess. Terrible! Moreover, the carpet upstairs was covered in hair and dust, there were at least 5 pairs of girl earrings we found all over the second floor so I would think the carpet was not vacuumed before us. When I contacted the host, she sent over a cleaner (her son most likely) to fix the toilet and shower, and he was cleaning only for like 5 min (really?), when called upstairs, he said he did not think the carpet needed cleaning...... Usually, when a host doesn't want to spend much money on cleaning, they at least clean and dust the visible surfaces. Nah, not in this case. Plates had long black hair on them, so glad we had single-use plates, cutlery and cups with us. And in addition to all that, the range seemed to have a gas leak (the left knob was loose) so we just cut off the gas valve behind the fridge. I would not stay again and would not recommend it to anyone.
- Bert (9/5): Beautiful stay in a chalet full of character !!! - Beautiful chalet (3 next to each other), private owner, very quiet surrounding with a nice view on the Waterton mountains. Full of character, and a large and beautiful first sleeping floor for the kids. Good location to visit Waterton NP and Many Glaciers (magnificent hike, the Grinnell trail) in Glacier NP Nothing
- Vinaykumar (9/5): Just EXCELLENT! - The cabin interior and all facilities within cabin. Location, quality and quietness.
- Raeannan (10/5): Great time with family. A short stop from Waterton lakes. -
- Suzan (9/5): Great place to stay while visiting Waterton national Park - Great comfortable beds, cozy and nicely decorated We had to drive back and forth between the park for activities but we knew it was 15-20 mins away
- Jessica (8/5): Very good - Big rooms and high ceiling Rickys staff(for breakfast) is slow to serve.
- Nareshkumar (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (10/5): Waterton Lakes NP gem. - Clean, quiet, well appointed cabin with phenomenal view of the mountains. Close to Waterton Lakes NP.
- Sandra (7/5): Good - No breakfast Windows we’re dirty; no tv.
- Kim (8/5): Loved the cabins and the location, will definitely stay here again. - The cabins were adorable and very well furnished, perfect for a get away. Because the well water is not necessarily for everyone there was drinkable water provided on demand at the kitchen sink. The cabin was super cozy and they have made the most of the space ensuring you have everything you need. The beds were so comfortable, that is always a worry but not here. All the window had blinds you could close to ensure privacy. Plenty of towels on hand in the bathroom and the kitchen. Fully equipped kitchen ensured we could make meals if we chose to. The main bedroom on the ground floor was very crowded, while a luggage stand was provided there was absolutely no room to set it up. A table lamp or bed side lamp would have been greatly appreciated.
- S_o_l_o_traveller (9/5): Superb -
- Kerri (10/5): We loved staying here while exploring Waterton. - I love how thoughtfully appointed the cabin is. It has all the comforts, cute decor, and a beautiful location. We liked everything about it.
- Holger (8/5): Very good - Comfortable cabin, clean and cosy. Near to Waterton
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional - Lots of room upstairs for relaxing. Limited kitchen counter space.
- Wendy (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - Close to Waterton park
- Diane (9/5): Superb - There were several small items in need of repair/replacement: coffee maker switch, water spout base. Gas stove knob was loose, causing gas leak with barely a bump of the knob.
- Michael (10/5): Great stay in a great location. - My stay was wonderful. Great little cabin (kind of a "tiny house" actually) with improvements and great decor to make it feel quite cozy. Wi-Fi worked great and was secure. Location is also great and very close to Waterton Lakes National Park in a more peaceful setting surrounded by the mountains and farm/livestock pastures typical of scenic southern Alberta. Never got to meet the host, but she and I communicated via text and once by phone which was fine and all that was necessary. No actual keys needed as the door lock works with a code which was given to me. Everything was clean and new-looking and in fine shape. Has a full kitchen with stove, range, medium size fridge, microwave, and much more. Also has a gas grill on the porch, but I did not use it. Everything was really great so no complaints. Might suggest a wall lamp by the main bed downstairs as an extra comfort improvement. Also, the AC unit is only on the 2nd floor, but since it was not that hot this time of year, AC was not really needed as windows could be opened in the evening to help cool things down if necessary.
- Alison (10/5): Thanks. Will come again - Quiet private beautiful views had Everything we needed
- Linda (7/5): Good -
- Gineta (10/5): Excellent service and location. Price is so reasonable. Can sleep 2 family for sure. - Location and price No pets allowed
- Mona (10/5): Perfect for a family - Location was fantastic and within 15-20min to Waterton and Cardston. Kitchen did not disappoint and the loft was a hit with the kids. If you're lucky enough to spot some wildlife, it just makes the stay extra special.
- Cara (8/5): Very good -
- Ravinder (7/5): Maybe - Good Out side
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Laurie (6/5): Once we settled in, it was quite pleasant - Private location. BBQ was disgusting. We had to clean it. First thing we did was clean the dishes so we could eat off the stove lates and utensils. We swept the floors and generally left the house lace in a mess ch better condition than we found it Very basic and rugged. We couldn’t imagine how the place could have fit an additional 3 people. There were 4 of us and we crowded it
- Jeramie (10/5): It was a great experience at the Haven and we have recommended to others already/looking forward to future visits! - Clean/good location/great layout for traveling family/decorating suited each cabin perfectly Fire pit is too deep and recreation area for kids and family just needs some upgrades or upkeep but this is minor!
- Fehr (9/5): Superb -
- Yufeng (1/5): Bad - Not very clean. Location is good. But everything else is bad. The room is not clean at all. Not convenient at all
- Gerald (10/5): Very cute cabin, clean, quiet, out in the country. - The queen bedroom is tight quarters but close to the bathroom. The upstairs 2 queen room had lots of room, very comfortable. The location was beautiful and close to Waterton. Going down stairs in the night to go to the bathroom.
- Daniel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alicia (9/5): Perfect mountain view getaway in rural Alberta! - The Hunter cabin was well decorated and the cabin overall had a great design. Perfect for a family get away. Mary was quick to answer or return my message. Lots of space on the second floor for our son to play and watch tv. Lots of sleeping space with four beds. The location to Waterton was great for day trips. Waking up in the morning with a coffee with a view of the mountains was perfect. The cabin was cozy, inviting, and exactly what I had hoped for to celebrate my husbands birthday. I would stay here again!!! The stove/heater in the Hunter cabin was quite loud. The blower fan’s bearings need replacement. It woke us up at night and made noises throughout the day when it was on and circulating heat. It got to the point that we h just kept it off and only had the ceiling fan going. No issues though with temperature which was good. There was a note stating not to touch the thermostat but we were able to adjust as we needed too.
The kitchen was missing some items I thought could be there for future guests-a flipper/spatula for cooking or paper towels for example—but we made due with what was there.
One last thing that felt missing was storage. No pantry area of dry goods and stuff so I kept those in boxes on the floor in the corners. No storage for clothing (closet or dresser) in any of the sleeping areas. And a larger self or something would be nice for the bathroom for our toiletries.
- Maria (7/5): Good -
- Marverick (10/5): Exceptional - All of us of who stayed in the cabins really loved the place, the cleanliness, the overall feel and vibe of the facility... No shampoo, conditioner and soap provided but we were informed ahead of time so no big deal at all...though the host wasnt that friendly, she was considerate when the number of people went beyond the max limit per cabin
- Hans (8/5): Very good -
- Isabelle (1/5): Beautiful location but the dirty cabin ruined our mini vacation. - Great location close to Waterton Park with awesome mountain views and the bed we slept in was comfortable. We spent 3 nights in the Fisherman’s Cabin
The cabin was not clean, in fact it was dirty. With such incredible views it was a shame the windows were filthy inside and out, with dead flies and spider webs on the windowsills. The appliances were not clean. The bathroom was not clean especially the toilet. The whole cabin was covered in dust - gas Jotul stove, baseboards, doors and decor. The floor and carpet had dirt on it, especially behind the barn door downstairs. The kitchen wooden countertop, table and floor were sticky. The light switches and door handles did not look clean. The couch looked dirty and was extremely uncomfortable. When you walked into the cabin, all you could smell was Febreeze (a can was left on the windowsill). The outside area and porch of the cabin was unkempt and not inviting. We actually only slept there and made breakfast and I’m so thankful I took my Ninja air fryer with us as I would not have used their stove.
On checkout you had to strip the beds that you used, so I’m thinking the other beds were not changed. With all the extra Covid cleaning measures that they were taking, all beds should have been stripped and the cabin should have been spotless. They even charge a cleaning fee, which is a joke, considering how dirty the cabin was on our arrival.
I did leave the owner a note on the table on her Check In document (more like all the don’ts) and did not get any response.
We do not recommend staying there and we will never stay there again. Sad because it was such a beautiful location.
- Jessica (9/5): Great place to stay, we’ll definitely be back! - Location great if you are exploring Waterton, only 15 minutes from the park. The cabin was very comfortable and clean. The upstairs has so much room! The wifi worked well and Netflix was available. We had trouble with the heat but luckily it wasn’t too cold while we were there.
- Marielle (8/5): Very good - The view was lovely. Cute little cabin. Please take care to regularly check under the rug. It was rather unclean and disturbing.
- Brent (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (9/5): we had a lovely and memorable weekend - close to waterton, beautiful area and place for kids to play. our boys will definitely remember the cute copper barn. Thank you!
- Arif (7/5): Good - Nice views. Quiet Well water in shower had odor. Host does not provide soap or shampoo in shower, wish I had known to bring our own.
