• Canvaina (9/5): Estancia muy agradable en una zona cercana al centro. - La amabilidad de la anfitriona. Que la casa fuese muy amplia y completa. La cocina, muy bien estructurada. La zona, muy tranquila por la noche. Hay que subir unas escaleras muy empinadas para llegar a las habitaciones. Que el water esté en la planta baja, lo cual por la noche es un problema.

• Blagica (9/5): Gemütliches Haus in Mechelen - Das Haus befindet sich in einer ruhigen Straße in Mechelen, ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß von der Stadtmitte entfernt. Ein Carrefour ist in ein Paar Minuten entfernt. Wir wurden durch Lydia sehr warm empfangen. Sie spricht Deutsch und hat uns viele hilfreiche Informationen in schriftlicher Form über Mechelen zur Verfügung gestellt. Das Haus ist sauber und sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und mit allem, was man braucht ausgestattet. Für uns war ein privater Parkplatz sehr wichtig und wir durften das Auto entweder in der Garage, oder auf der Straße vor dem Haus abstellen. Vielen Dank liebe Lydia für den herzlichen Empfang!

• Kerli (8/5): Worth it! - Nice house and lovely little garden area. Owner was very lovely! We only spent one night and didn’t have much time to enjoy the house. As th weather was over 30 degrees that day and there’s no AC, we struggeled to sleep as it was really warm. But otherwise I would book this place next time as well.

• Z (10/5): A delightful home away from home!! - What a delightful house. Our family of 4 arrived in early January welcomed by Lydia, the host. We had experienced German trains at their worst on the day of arrival, and so ended up arriving at the house over 6 hours behind schedule, and so arrived after 10.30pm on a cold and wet night. Lydia quite happily rode her bike to the house and waited for us with some treats and took her time explaining where everything was, and gave us a whole lot of information about everything we might need. She was very communicative, kind and eager to make our stay pleasant. She even went to the effort of getting information that we were trying to find out relating to train tickets. Her English was excellent which was a bonus for us. The house had a beautiful lit up Christmas tree. It was warm and cosy and very spacious. Beautifully furnished, a well equipped kitchen and a lovely bathroom. The tv had streaming services. Beds were very comfortable. The house was spotlessly clean. There’s also a washing machine and dryer and a clothes drying rack. Our family felt very much at home. Lydia has put a lot of love and thought into making this house a delightful and comfortable place. The house is in a great location. It’s in a very quiet street. There’s a large Carrefour supermarket 200metres from the house. Further down (300metres) there’s a great bakery/deli. We were able to walk to the main town very easily. Took around 15 minutes. It’s also very easy getting to the train station. The bus stop is a few metres from the house and it only takes around 10 minutes with the bus to get to the train station. We quite easily took the train to Brussels. We will definitely return and stay longer to explore more of Mechelen and surrounding towns. Thank you for a great stay. There’s nothing we did not like. We just didn’t like that we didn’t book it for longer.
• David (8/5): Very comfortable and value for money... - Whilst outside the city, it was easy to access as there is a regular bus at the end of the road which goes direct to Mechelen station or near the city centre. Mechelen was lovely and well connected to other key locations in Northern Belgium including Brussels, Ghent and Bruges all of which we visited. We used public transport extensively which by and large was easy but if you're coming from the UK use the Belgian Railways website as easier to navigate than talking to staff at stations... But a really good stay in a good location in a lovely country with lovely people. Although this cannot be easily resolved, the toilet being downstairs was a bit annoying especially in the night with the stairs being so steep and Belgian beer being so good!

Great outside seating space (covered and open). Very helpful and responsive host. We hadn't realised the only toilet is downstairs. Stairs are manageable but extremely steep with very narrow treads..
• Song (10/5): Nice stay in a historic house - Nice house with lots of history and unique experience. Kitchen with cookware and utensils. Host was waiting for us to hand over the keys as we arrive. Rooms have decent sizes and beds are comfortable. The stairs are very narrow and steep, so we did not bring anything other than clothes upstairs. There is no bathroom on 2nd floor in the shower room, so be prepared to go downstairs using the narrow stairs when you need to use bathroom. I would not recommend this to elder people who may have mobility issues.
• Andriy (9/5): Pleasant stay in an atmospheric house - Spacious accommodation, equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay, in particular a lot of beautiful dishes and furniture. Located within walking distance from the center of Mechelen. There is a supermarket nearby. There is a garage for a car. Small patio. Very nice and responsive hostess. Quite a steep staircase to the first floor, where there are two bedrooms and a bathroom. Travelers with disabilities or with small children should take this into account, as well as the fact that the toilet is located on the ground floor.

• Kieran (10/5): Exceptional - What an amazing gem. The owner is the nicest person on continental Europe, you'll believe me once you've stayed here. Her English is very good and she was very accommodating and helpful. Its like staying with family. Everyone in my group felt at home from the moment we arrived. There was enough parking for 3 cars and the area seemed very safe. We were amazed that you get the whole house including garden for your money. We will be looking to return in the future. This is one not to miss if you need a place to relax. Nothing. We will be back.
