- Brooke (10/5): - We loved our mini getaway. The location is perfect, amazing views and had everything we needed.
We had such a great time with the birds that come down of an evening, at one stage we had 10. Both my bestie and I would recommend Noonamen cottage and if our husbands are lucky we might bring them with us next time. Thank you so much for your beautiful cottage. There wasn't anything.
- Jenny (7/5): Decent cottage close to town in Halls Gap - Affordable cottage close to the village. The instructions were easy to follow and provided well in advance, however a question we sent about an hour after checkin was answered days after we left so the communication wasn't excellent. Its pretty basic but it has everything you need. THERE IS NO WIFI! We didn't realise that and it was difficult with our international guests. There is no wifi as I mentioned.

- Sarah (9/5): Great quirky cottage in the heart of halls gap. - Great location and amazing fireplace. No outdoor shelter from sun or rain, we were made aware of this days before but offered no discount for inconvenience or solution (gazebo).
The toilet lid will not stay up and hit us in the back every single time we sat, poor 4 year old got it in the head.
Also we had a lot of trouble with the doors and the locks, we ended up just leaving it unlocked when we went out.

- Zhihao (8/5): Reasonably comfortable for a good price. - Spacious, well located and with fantastic kitchen and fire facilities. Toilet door did not close properly, only conditioner was provided, potentially unsafe outdoor wiring, roof prone to lifting with high winds.

- Dean (6/5): Very good location and comfortable stay - Location and space Could use a deep clean and upgrading
- Lisa (7/5): Gariwerd is always wonderful, and we had great weather. - The location was fantastic I was given a door locker code, then had to work out where the key locker was. Owner didn’t respond on departure day.
- John (10/5): Very cold conditions but the wood fire and reverse cycle AC kept us cozy - Well maintained character property in a great location.
- Leslee (3/5): Very disappointed - Location to shops etc was great. Close enough to walk. The whole place was not prepared for guests. The beds were not made, no towels and no soap for the shower.
We had to make the bed after speaking to the owner as to where everything was. To his credit, he did offer to refund us the money and we could have moved. It wasn’t his fault but the cleaner’s fault.
- Kyle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (8/5): Pleasant holiday Halls Gap - The peacefulness of the location. Everything we needed was there. Very comfortable place and good value. Nothing really
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Antonia (9/5): Very rejuvenating. - Location is fabulous Quiet area. Cottage had lovely verandahs.
- Terri (9/5): Superb -
- David (8/5): Excellent host, fantastic property with all the facilities one might need in a great location - It was home from home with all the facilities you could possibly hope for Sadly, and we really felt for the owners, the property had not been cleaned or the bedding changed. The owners had been let down by the usual team as it was a statutory holiday on our change over day. That said it only took a few minutes to make good as we were given access to the locked cleaning and laundry cupboards. We would definitely stay again.
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage had a very calming atmosphere and the facilities met all our needs. The highlight of the house was the large covered deck which was a great place to enjoy the very early morning hours and later in the day / evening. The house was perfectly located close to shops, restaurants and local attractions. We really enjoy Halls Gap and will continue to visit.
- Browning (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Fabulous accommodation and location, great hosts, spectacular views - a magical part of Victoria. - Perfectly positioned close to the village of Hall's Gap - a leisurely 7 minute stroll, but far enough away from the action the cottage is cosy, homely, and comfortable. The views of the Grampians are striking from all angles and whether you hit the hiking trails or just relax on the deck the vistas are stunning. We didn't cook however the kitchen was clean and well appointed. Bring your own milk on arrival. The purpose of our visit was to attend a destination wedding at Mt William Station 25 km away and several guests were collected by private bus outside the Information centre - so the location was extremely convenient for group transport. The hosts were extremely accommodating regarding arrival and check out times.
The local wildlife was a huge part of our stay - the birds will happily sit and chat with you on the terrace whilst eyeing off your snacks - hilariously entertaining, and the well established native garden surrounding the cottage provides some natural screening from the neighbouring properties and roads. Noonameena Cottage is not well sign posted like other properties from the main road- we struggled to locate it.
Bring your own guest soap and face flannels - things we didn't think we'd need to pack.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Teresa (10/5): Exceptional - Could fault nothing. Comfortable beds and great living area with outside balcony for wildlife to come visit us
- Brian (8/5): Very good -
- Mincy (9/5): Superb - Great location
Comfortable
Loved the cottage vibe
- David (8/5): Very good - No WIFI
- Stuart (10/5): We loved it! - Location was awesome. Kids loved the birds that were on the balcony
- Cioba (10/5): I recommend this cottage to people who need 2 large bedrooms, a large living room and kitchen. - Perfect cottage in a perfect location. We had a very pleasant stay in this roomy cottage that had everything we needed to enjoy. Grampians Wonderlan track was closed due to fires.
- Liz (8/5): Very good - It was very comfy and great location. The spa did not work.
- Charlie (9/5): Superb - Peaceful
- Marija (8/5): Very good - Great location amazing scenery and walks. The cottage is spacious, kitchen is well appointed (my guide to perfection is a pair of scissors!) and the balcony was wonderful to watch the world go by together with visits from the local birds. The location was great.
- Jacqui (10/5): Great cottage in the Grampians - Spacious cottage in a great spot. There's a few cosmetic things which are easily fixed which I'll tell the owner about. It didn't affect the stay.
- Kieran (9/5): Superb - Great location and spacious setting. Very comfortable furniture and beds. Couldn't get the bathroom door to latch closed was the only annoying thing.
- Jennifer (8/5): Great. - Good location /lots of birds, kangaroos, cockatoos, emus/very comfy beds-had great sleeps every night. I appreciated the local tourist info /magazines/general info was handy. Toilet lid needs fixing/saucepan has loose handle(dangerous)/
- Adolf (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- Jeff (8/5): Very good - Some decent sharp knives for cooking
- Andrew (9/5): A lovely cottage in a wonderful location - Excellent Took me a couple of hours to work out how to get the TV going as everything was disconnected. Written instructions would have saved a few frustrating hours.
- Carmel (7/5): Good - Quiet and located walking distance to town. Electric blanket really needs attention as it is a safety hazard working only intermittently. Dirty in places.
- Penelope (7/5): Good - Bed was a bit hard, would have been good to have had a blanket .
- Martina (9/5): Superb -
- David (9/5): Superb - The cottage was extremely clean and well located on the edge of the center of town. With lots of glass, the cottage has a very light, bright feel, and despite being on the main road, it was still very quite over night. The fire place ensured we had both warmth and atmosphere. The kitchen was a little basic, though generally adequate.
- Eileen (9/5): Superb -
- Emily (9/5): Superb - Location
Wood fire
- Jennifer (9/5): Warmth and comfort surrounded by trees. - It was wonderful to have a whole house to ourselves in such a convenient location. The wood burning fireplace was very much appreciated, even though there was alternative heating. The kitchen was well supplied with cooking equipment. I loved the trees all around. We got used to the slightly wonky floor and the toilet lid closing while in use.
- D.smith88 (10/5): Exceptional - Great little cottage with everything you need and a great location! Only downside was we had no body wash but probably just missed it
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julija (9/5): Superb -
- Luke (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia (7/5): Good -
- Lynn (7/5): Comfortable but unfortunately wet weather which we know is out of our control!! - Not applicable No Sharp knives in kitchen
Smoke detector battery dead so kept beeping and had to take it out
Heat pump control requires new battery
- Aliesha (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (10/5): Cosy cottage for a happy holiday! - Beautiful cottage to relax and enjoy the peaceful countryside but so close to everything in the little township which was within easy walking distance on a designated footpath.
The cottage had everything needed for a comfortable stay, particularly with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils - so nice (and economical) to be able to cook at “home” on a cold winter’s evening or make a warm breakfast to start the day - also lovely to have a washing machine on site along with a clothes line AND PEGS or a clothes horse, especially to keep towels clean and dry.
Wood fire was very efficient to keep the entire cottage warm and cosy with plenty of wood 🪵 available in the shed, and a wheelbarrow to bring it to the door, a job our grandson loved doing. Firelighters and matches provided but kindling might be needed for an easier start up. We were fortunate enough to have some left by a previous guest. Only problem was it was requested to remove the ash from the fireplace before we left but we were unable to do so because we had had the fire going 24/7 due to the extra cold weather so it would have been quite dangerous to do so … we didn’t want to cause injury to ourselves or damage the property … in fact, the fire was still burning when we left!
Lounge area was spacious, although the chairs and couch were quite low and not easy to get up from, but it was a nice surprise to see a good selection of DVD’s and board games provided for our enjoyment too!
Good table and chairs for dining; roomy kitchen for preparing meals and snacks with plenty of space for pantry items and a good sized refrigerator and working stove (although no exhaust fan)
Bathroom was large with plenty of space for toiletries and clean absorbent towels; however, anyone with mobility issues would find stepping into the bath to shower quite a problem as there was no handrail to hold onto; and forget using the spa bath (apparently it hasn’t worked for some time!)
Beds were very comfortable. Electric blankets 😊 Spa bath apparently hasn’t worked for some time but has not been attended to.
Also difficult to step into the bath without a handrail to hold onto.
The control for the air conditioner needs new batteries but, although mentioned in the Visitors Book, several times, has not been done.
Refrigerator (freezer section) needs to be attended to - as it is icy and has unneeded items in it.
Also, the door of the actual refrigerator needs to be pushed shut firmly as it doesn’t seal properly.
The salt and pepper looks like it has been there some time and not inviting to use so, we didn’t!
No sharp knives on site for meal preparation at all; take your own.
Lounge chairs are very low and do not have arm rests so are difficult to get up from; especially for those who are elderly or have mobility issues.
Wheels on the wheelbarrow need to be pumped up (or perhaps there is a puncture?)

- Stella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dave (10/5): Clean, comfy and warm fire! - Excellent location Nil
- Jacqueline (10/5): A wonderful and relaxing stay. - Lovely accommodation in an excellent location with stunning views. Very comfortable and warm. N/A
- Jonathan (9/5): Excellent option overall, especially for a bigger group - Location was good, good sized house, reasonable kitchen. The lockbox key being for the back door is a bit confusing so make sure to carefully read the instructions :)
- Karishma (8/5): It was brief and lovely given the convenience of the location. - Location The electric blanket did not work on one side of one bed no matter what I tried. Kept flashing but never came on.
- Wendy (9/5): An excellent location to spend time with family and appreciate the Grampians. - The wood fire. Back up air conditioning. Atmosphere, location, clean, comfortable beds, electric blankets, well serviced kitchen, birdlife, verandah/decking (in warmer weather, maybe) BBQ, almost all bases covered. A couple of sharp knives in the kitchen for food preparation would have been good. Also a smart TV for streaming sports etc. Can always bring own WIFi.
- Gerald (9/5): Superb -
- Amaya (8/5): Very good -
- Wasenshi (8/5): A very nice place to spend a few days in the Grampians - a great location and a beatiful setting - The cottage is equipped with lots of things that a family needs for a comfortable stay including games and blu-rays/DVDs. There is aircon for the days that are hot and plenty of things to keep you warm when it is not. The location is super practical as you are a short stroll away from the shops and the cafes/restaurants in Halls Gap. The settings around the house are amazing and although you are on the main road, you feel you are in a secluded location. You get greeted by the wildlife every evening and morning and there was a kookaburra that was on the porch that visited regularly. No WiFi - may not be a deal-breaker but depending on the mobile network you're with, call reception and mobile internet can be really bad in Halls Gap so that would have been helpful.
- Diane (9/5): Very lovely accommodation & good location. Will definitely book Noonamena Cottage again. - It was very spacious & a delight to relax & unwind in. The bed was comfy & warm. I was in Halls Gap as a support worker for a client attending a family get together. Not a fan of the mugs..forgot to bring my own cup. Also had difficulty putting the cover back on the key safe..it took me quite a while but got there eventually.
- Zixiao (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, close to center
- Christopher (8/5): Great location, very close to pub and top indian restraraunt - Location, wild life, amenities Back room gets hot, need sun protection, rear deck needs boards replaced
- Kimberley (8/5): Very good - Very nice cottage, just a short walk to town
Make sure you bring nuts for the cockatoos Couldn't get in touch with the owner at all
- Kym (9/5): Superb -
- Angela (8/5): Homely cottage - This was a lovely cottage that felt very homely & was in a fab location to get to everything that Halls Gap has to offer. Lovely bed & bedding although pillows were a little ‘thin’, great shower. Kitchen has all you need to cater at home. A little ‘tired’ in places, lots of cobwebs (understandable in the location), basically not a criticism it just has an ageing charm. Note, no WiFi.
- Mairead (5/5): Passable - Location was great, close to town but still quiet. Main bed was lovely and comfortable General cleanliness of the house was disappointing e.g. dusty ledges, cereal on floor under chair in sitting room, dirty marks around light switch
- Van (5/5): Good view. Weird smell. - Loved the mountain view and wildlife. House was smelly. Couldn't get rid of the smell. Could not contact host regarding unclear vacate instructions, shampoo and conditioner provided for 2 guests. Paid for 5.
- Jeffrey (10/5): Everything you could need for a relaxing stay - Perfect position, quaintly old style, spotlessly clean Nothing it was perfect
- Elise (9/5): Superb -
- A (8/5): Very good -
- Lai (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Rhonda (8/5): Very good -
- Sue (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marcus (8/5): Very good -
- Krystina (9/5): Superb - Great location. Instructions were clear. Everything was provided. Place was comfortable, welcoming and roomy. Totally recommend. Good walk to shops.
- Roger (8/5): Relaxing time at a lovely cottage in a lovely location - Excellent location.
Lovely cottage. Whilst not the most modern looking cottage, it had everything that we needed for our stay. Spa bath didn't work. Shower taps dripped. Kitchen floor sloped.
But these are only minor things.
- Curd (8/5): Peaceful - Location and balcony
- Phuong (10/5): This is the fourth time we've stayed at Noonameena Cottage. Its a home away from home for us! :) -
- Jones (10/5): Exceptional - The home feeling! Perfect location! Mt son loved the Wild life that came to visit. Nothing
- Erryn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (7/5): Perfect - A lovely cottage in a perfect location . Would highly recommend .
- Ross (6/5): Despite the issues above, we did have an enjoyable stay. - Have stayed at this cottage many times in the past and have many fond memories. There was a very strong smell of wood smoke when we first opened the house. The problem turned out to be the door on the wood heater. The door handle was broken and the door was not sealing, therefore allowing smoke to escape into the living room. There were also many cobwebs on the roof and walls. Both of these issues are very easy to fix.
- Linda (9/5): Superb -
- Debra (10/5): Exceptional - Location, cleanliness everything needed to enjoy the stay.
Owners easy to contact and very accommodating when asked for an additional night stay.
- Dave (8/5): Very good - Location
Comfy bed
Deep bath
Near to restaurants Kitchen utensils were a bit muddly..
Empty knife block
Fire lighters would be handy
Spa bath didn't work
Or fan in lounge
- Melissa (8/5): Lovely property - Great loaction The fireplace could have been ready to light for our convenience and kindling provided as when we arrived it was raining and wood was difficult to access from the shed.
- Itzmyatnoe (9/5): Comfortable stay - Big and comfortable cottage with fireplace for heating. The keybox was hard to get to on a cold dark night as there was no light around.
