• Luuk (9/5): Great value vacation house for big groups. Highly recommend! - The house is located in a quiet area just off a regional road. The walls are very thick, meaning you hear very little noise from outside, or even your fellow guests in other rooms (which is nice if someone wants to go to bed early). The facilities were all clean and very nice. There's a large grass field beside the house which is great for an outdoor game or outside dining (with the included tables, chairs, and barbecue). The kitchen has everything you need, including a lot of non-perishable goods. There are plenty of rooms and bathrooms, meaning our group of seven had no issue with choosing preferred bedrooms or using the bathroom at the same time. Every bedroom gets its own TV, and the living room has a large modern TV, meaning everyone can entertain themselves if needed. HDMI ports are available on the main TV if you want to plug in a console or laptop for additional entertainment. Fans are available during the warmer weather in most bedrooms. Detergent was available for the dishwasher and washing machine, and a tumble dryer was present as well. The machines are in German, but manuals are left throughout the house and can also be found online. The parking space is big enough for two cars, or three small ones if you don't mind tight parking. Access to the house was convenient with the provided pin code and electronic locks. The front door could easily be locked from the outside without a key by simply not entering a code and pressing the '>' button. We only had a few minor issues with this house. None of these affected our stay in any significant way, but we are leaving them here to ensure future guests are informed, and for the host to potentially address. Firstly, the dishwasher is difficult to load and operate. The trays often jam with a little weight on them (e.g. a few plates or glasses) and the door did not open fully. Turning it on proved to be tricky, as following the manual to start the Eco programme didn't turn it on. By selecting the second to last programme and holding the start button, we did manage to start a basic cycle. Making sure the door opens fully, and potentially some provided instruction (if not already present) would solve most of this issue. Secondly, some of the sharp knives were dull. This meant we couldn't use all of them, and we had to wash some knives by hand once or twice if we ran out of sharp ones. A sharpening rod, or new knives would be a great addition. Thirdly, not every space was finished fully. Some bathrooms had exposed pipes or holes in the wall, and a single bathroom had a lone mirror just sitting against the wall in a corner. While this wasn't an issue for us and we really didn't mind, I decided to mention it so future guests are well informed. Finally, some rooms had leftover items from previous guests. We found a stray sock, a lip pencil, and what appeared to be a pair of underwear under the beds or left in drawers. A quick check under all the beds and in all the drawers and closets would solve this in a heartbeat.
