Guest Reviews
- Goby (6/5): Very Good staff, but outdated place - The location was great. The staff was very prompt to answer whenever I had any request. They were friendly and responded rather positively to all my requests and at least we’re doing their best to address the points raised. Some of the equipement had rust, the place was not the neatest, and some of the equipement were damaged. The deck outside in the garden had quite a big hole in it. The place would need a bit of refurbishment and in-depth cleaning. I almost feel like I returned th place cleaner than it was.
- Sophie (2/5): I was severely underwhelmed and will not choose this place to stay again im disappointed in the lack of remorse from the - The use of the kitchen and washing machine Dirty plates and cutlery, no hand soap, toilet paper and 2 towels to use for 3 people. The fact there was no spare pillows and linen and the wrong internet was given to us and lack of instruction of how to use the front door as foreigners we didn’t know how to lock it.
- John (2/5): Disappointing. Booking.com should be looking into this place if they want to keep it on their site - Close to the shops and bars in Sandymount When we arrived there were stains on the bed from the previous guest, there were used towels on the floor in the hallway and no fresh bedding. When I asked for fresh linen and towels I was told they would be changed the next morning so we had to sleep on the sofa. The next morning the linen wand towels were dropped off in the doorway in a black bin bag so I had to make the bed myself. The decking outside is cracked with huge holes and there was a pumpkin just left outside from Halloween.
- Roy (8/5): Very good -
- Luzaan (5/5): Overpriced, underdelivered, false post advertising (pics & description), but great location - Location was good, but honestly everything else had multiple disasters This is a full Granny flat, there's a seat in the shower which isn't shown on the photos. There was no secondary booking option, I was under the impression I was booking the entire house based on the photos, turns out there's a built on granny flat with a separate 1-bed booking option which I didn't realize there is another 4-bed booking option for the main house - this conveniently isn't mentioned anywhere and the 4-bed option is hidden when it's not available to be booked. Therefore your assumption is that you're booking a House and Garden, but you're actually only booking the granny flat labeled as a studio. I constantly had to battle with noisy neighbours renting the main house which is attached and above the granny flat, you could hear them stomping and moving furniture at all hours of the morning (after midnight hours). I wouldn't use their appliances and there was left-over food and ingredients, this felt more like a glorified overcharged AirBnB of someone's house than an actual B&B (because it was!). There was Zero Cellphone network over multiple carriers, Zero wifi range in the flat, even after an additional extender was installed (so the wifi was constantly disconnecting or just not available), the owner missed the appointment for me to collect my confidential post and decided to tell the rental company he had hung my confidential post outside overnight in a clear bag between his many crates stacked at the door, while the rental company told me to come back the next day (2 hours by public transport again) - because the owner wouldn't be back for the remainder of the night - which was untrue. The outside deck planks were rotten and had holes everywhere, safety concern, I wouldn't even walk on the deck falling apart much less sit on the rusted 'garden chair and table'.
- Giltinan (7/5): Good -
- Ammar (10/5): Exceptional - Greetings by a gentleman and lady at the moment of arrival to the apartment. Luckily I met them once i arrived there.
Check in went smoothly
Safe and secured area

- Claire (8/5): Very agreeable - Excellent location, comfy beds, spotlessly clean Kitchen furniture
- Julie (10/5): Great experience - Great place to stay. thank you for having us.

- Mayu (1/5): Bad - I called them, the apt was dirty,no bin bags, lack of blankets, but the worst was that at 5am I opan the curten to go outside and heavy wood stick fall from the ceiling on my left arm and It swallan since Thursday . Very painful. I send video at 5:40am to the management property and he send me a massage they will call me,and until now I haven't heard from them. The kitchen cutlery was dirty. I pic and video it all,and they promised me the manager will call to sort some compansation, but until now only ignoring. I pass it to you to see what we going to do about it.and the bad was catastrify
- Mirko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (8/5): brilliant, would come back and stay again and agian - the location was great, never been to SandyMount before and what a lovely place, great village with loads of cafes and restaurants and a few pubs as well. great local butchers, and on few minutes walk from the beach. Kettle didn't work, but being a boy scout managed to boil water on the stove so nothing we couldn't overcome. other than that a great house to base our weekend trip
- Elena (9/5): Superb -

- Gerard (6/5): Convenient location, clean, comfortable, but a little bit of maintenance would improve this a lot. - Convenient location, clean, comfortable. Bed was comfortable and plenty of wardrobe space. Kitchen and dining area good, reasonably well stocked re cutlery, dishes etc. Good heating in each room and bathroom. This apartment could do with more attention to maintenance. As others experienced, getting the key was a problem. I was either given the wrong code for the lockbox or else it was deposited in the wrong lockbox. Took quite a while to figure it out with the agent. In the meantime, the door to the apartment had been left wide open! Resolved eventually with the agent via text messages ++ The shower drain in the bathroom was partially blocked and on the first morning water flowed out onto the bathroom floor. I had to purchase drain blocker liquid to resolve the problem! The kickboard under the kitchen cupboards has come away and just been left on the floor. Also, there were two extra mattresses left leaning against the wall?? This doesn't take away from the fact that it's a lovely apartment in other respects.
- Joseph (7/5): Good - The house was big and spacious....
- Louis (1/5): Very disappointing - the pullout couch was in good working condition the plug in the bathroom sink didn’t work and got stuck inside the sink so we couldn’t use the sink. There is no hot water in the kitchen, like none, so we had to boil the kettle just to wash dishes. The oven is dirty, really grimy, and as soon as we switched on the oven it started to create a lot of smoke in the house.
We received an email with directions on how to enter the property when we arrived. The email gave the code for s lock box. there are two lock boxes, one with keys for the main house, and one with keys for the apartment. We had booked the apartment. I followed the directions in the email and used the code they had sent. It unlocked the keys for the main house. I Had tried to unlock the apartment, but the keys didn’t work. So I went to the main house and tried the keys, and it unlocked the door. My mom and I went inside the main house but quickly saw that it hadn’t been serviced as there were alcohol cans all over the house, the beds weren’t made, and there were used towels on the floor.
I phoned the number in the email and a person answered. I explained who I am and that it doesn’t seem like the house has been serviced since the previous guests checked out. The man was so rude and sarcastic! He asked really really sarcastically if I had booked the house or the apartment. I told him I had booked the apartment, and he was like okay! Like somehow I was the idiot. He then told me ‘they’ had probably emailed me the wrong access code, whoever they are. And gave me the code for the other lock code. The next morning I get an email saying please email them if I need anything. When I replied to the email to mention the cold water in the kitchen and the broken bathroom sink I got a reply that said that inbox is not monitored and I shouldn’t send emails to it. It was very frustrating being in a foreign country and dealing with this unprofessionalism and absolutely poor service. They didn’t care.
- Marie (1/5): Memorable Christmas stay - Very good location. House was warm. Smell of sewage throughout house, especially bedrooms, made for an unpleasant stay. Had to keep windows open to reduce pong. When we arrived cleaners were still working so we learned that the freezer was not working properly, solid block of ice, had been reported but no action taken. They were kind enough to defrost it. A toilet upstairs was unusable and had been reported multiple times, again not fixed. On the third day, after multiple contacts with the management company, this toilet was fixed, until then everyone walked through our room to use toilet in the bathroom with broken shower. The plumber confirmed the issue was lack of a trap in the shower to prevent gases escaping back into the building. See pictures.
The house needs a deep clean, but is overall clean enough. Sitting room furniture very basic and kitchen furniture is very cheap, kitchen chairs coming apart and screws seem stripped as we couldn’t tighten them. Could be a really nice place with a little tlc., feels like a neglected rental. Booking.com were pleasant but unable to broker any settlement with the management company. I’m not looking to make out but some compensation would have left us feeling less abused by the circumstances. We breathed sewage gas for 10 days. Yuck.
- Emma (6/5): Hosts kindly allowed us to increase our group number to 7. ideal property for 7 however would very much benefit from the - the location was excellent and house was spacious.
bedrooms were clean and beds very comfortable .
plenty of hot water and house nice and warm. ample parking. on arrival the kitchen was dirty. crumbs on surfaces on table and in sink. Crumbs on floor and skirting boards dirty. micro wave covered in old cooked on food. spent 2 hours cleaning!!.
A lovely property that would benefit from some TLC and simple cosmetic repairs. freezer door broken, did not close. several other handle broken and cupboard doors hanging badly, dining chair broken and broken headrest in bathroom. unable to locate iron and ironing board.
not enough crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment for 7 people.
bottom stair carpet loose.
- Sheila (10/5): Exceptional - Good location. Very nice house
- Robers (9/5): Superb -
- Anas (7/5): clean but complicated process - clean, location difficult to reach the staff or in-charge person to explain how things works, switching on/off heating system …. etc
+ complicated key delivery
+ lack of communication to clarify the logistics
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Anas (8/5): good clean and spacious but very expensive - clean, well furnished communication with help desk was not good enough
confusions with some technicalities
no brochures on how to switch on certain stuff
