Guest Reviews
- Felix (9/5): Cozy, comfortable apartment in the heart of Rome. - Perfect location in the centre of Rome, close to tourist attractions, great food and cozy shops. A nice apartment in a quiet courtyard. Not the most comfortable bed but it wasn’t a problem.
- Amanda (9/5): Great little spot for a few days in Rome! Owner was helpful and good value - The location was great and handy when touring around Rome. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Difficult to find the property
- Yana (7/5): Good -
- Gabriela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (8/5): Very good apartment in a great location, would happily stay again when we return to Rome! - Very good location, delicious food available just a minute from the property with a Gelato shop next door and an excellent bakery next to that. Air conditioning worked perfectly and the apartment had all that we needed. Check in was smooth and efficient. Many thanks! As others have mentioned, the bed was a little uncomfortable but this didn’t prevent us from sleeping.
- Nandor (9/5): Nice place in the centre - Excellent location, cozy mini-apartment in the center of Rome. Ideal for couples. Overall, everything was fine, we liked it. Unfortunately, mold appeared on a small surface in the bathroom. Water was constantly flowing from the toilet tank, which was loud and disturbing at night.
- Emanuel (6/5): Pleasant - Location is great - stranger hair in the bathroom (was not cleaned well)
- toilet paper was completely soaked as the water tank on top kept dripping. had to buy our own toilet paper
- it costs 30€ or more if you arrive later than 21:00. Please keep in mind that it is a self-checkin (automated door in the front + receiving key to the door with a code)
- Ekaterina (8/5): Good for staying 3-4 nights - Location is amazing!
You have everything in the property you need. It was cold even with AC turned on, but during hot summer it will be even beneficial.
- Dimitrios (3/5): Good location but the room was dirty and humid and we couldn’t feel comfortable at all - Great location The room was very humid, thus had a bad smell that made us feel very uncomfortable and made the room feel dirty. The towels smelled weird. Also there was an old dirty dirty duvet with NO duvet cover. Of course we didn’t use it and got cold while sleeping. The covers of the sofa, the chairs and the table seemed like they’ve never been washed. All our clothes and bags smelled like mold when we returned.
- Neira (8/5): Best location in Rome. - The location is perfect, we haven't used the public transport at all. Almost all the tourist spots are walking distance. Many famous (and good) restaurants are nearby. The kitchen was well stocked and handy to use. It is very cozy. The bathroom is extremely small. You really don't have a window, just the door, so you can't keep it open all the time. The furniture is quite run down, and bed is uncomfortable.
- Jan (10/5): Best Place - In the heart of Rome, next to the best Gelateria. Quiet and cozy home. Superfriendly and quick responding host. I will come back!
- Nenad (8/5): Very good -
- P (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment is a safe, quiet oasis in an amazingly central location. The kitchen has all that one needs so we were able to comfortably make our coffee and eat in as we desired. A gelato place is just outside the front door of the complex. An outrageously popular local Roman food stand is also right there. The grocery stores and wine stores are just steps away. The proprietor was very responsive and helped us ahead of time with finding excellent parking in a nearby facility. The entry is ultra secure but the courtyard is friendly and welcoming anyway, there were just friendly families around us. We really enjoyed our time in Rome because this place is such a respite. Our daughter lives in Rome and we definitely want to keep coming back to this apartment when we visit her. It was truly perfect in every way.
- Debbie (8/5): We loved it. Would stay again. - Location and authenticity The bathroom was really small, but it was manageable
- Sam (1/5): Awful- dirty, mould and host who ignores you. - Only possible positive was that location was central. Everything, the worst experience of staying in an apartment. Arrived at 3pm and not cleaned at all. Urine in toilet, bin full, no bed sheets. 1 hr 30 mins we were calling the hosts mobile, sending emails and WhatsApp - all ignored. We waited and waited for a response. Host finally sent cleaner who came. We checked and its was worse than we thought. Mould all over the top wall of bathroom wall by toilet and all around the shower tray and screen. If you unfortunately book this stay you will also find mould in the hatch right by the bed. There is damp mould issue for years-check the negative reviews, issue is historic and host has let this property get worse.
We decided to book as there were positive reviews so we risked it, hoping it was just moaners. Please don't! Save your lungs from breathing in dust and wet mould environment.
Very rude host who has threatened me with Italian laws to make false reviews. I have all the evidence and waiting for response from booking.com for refund as we left 2 hrs after arriving at 3pm and giving the host the opportunity to resilve. We haf to pay for another hotel as was the worst apartment and you cant sleep there. Read the negative reviews regarding cleaning and mould, they are all true. The host will reply with lies once again no doubt as he has done to the previous negative reviews. We wished we had listened to the bad reviews and not gone with this apartment based on its location and cheaper cost compared to others; as it was a stressful and cost us lots of money. Now still stressful as we try to deal with this rude threatening host, and trying to get our money back from not being able to stay in such a dirty and mould filled apartment.
- Debbie (5/5): The host was very communicative. We had a few things happen when we got there and he was able to help. The location is - The property is in a great location and has a great cafe and pizza place right next door. The bed mattress was terrible! You felt every spring. The apt is located in a secured location, but people will buzz when they forget their keys in the middle of the night. We got buzzed twice!
- Tatiana (6/5): Nice apartment in the city center with a garden for a Roman Holiday adventures - The location is perfect - walking distance to everything and a cafe with gelato just at the door exit :) The apartment has a very interesting design and small space organization was a good example for inspiration! Tea and coffee were also available as well as cooking utensils. There is a lovely small garden to eat outside! Alessandro, I have a few suggestions for improvement:
1) Black mold cleaning in the bathroom is required (shower walls and doors, and above the toilet)
2) The window can be always open to help remove moisture after shower and avoid mold, but needs to cover with a net to stop flies/mosquitos to enter. I think the open window would be enough to air inlet and no need for a dehumidifier, but the existing one was not efficient and you may want to replace it if the open window does not help
3) There are so many salt boxes at the kitchen (up to 10 different salts) - you can give them to the local restaurants to use and keep only one at home
4) I wish you could replace pillows, because they are very specific, not regular pillows (on the second night I woke up with a pain in my neck and could not sleep anymore)
- France (9/5): Internet was not good -
- Joan (9/5): Superb - Exceptional location, very nice host. Cozy neighborhood and apartment. The host was very responsive and generous. We really enjoyed our stay 😊 Maybe the bed was not the most comfortable and the apartment was a little bit old, but anyways it was cozy and nice!
- Dominika (3/5): Locatie perfect, hygiene in the bathroom unacceptable - Locatie Bathroom
- Neus (6/5): Good location - Little but enough for 2 people.
Very good location. It wasn’t clean.
- Kayla (10/5): Excellent Home Away From Home in Rome - Domus Chiavari House is an excellent choice for your stay in Rome. Having a kitchen helps save a little money on expenses for meals & drinks. Also makes it nice to come back to a cold bottle of wine after walking around all day.The decor reminds you that you are staying in the heart of Rome. The location is superb. You can very easily walk to everything..... Monuments, Vatican, colosseum, stores & restaurants. The best thing of all is the host Alessandro... He goes above & beyond to make your stay in Rome wonderful! He leaves lots of extras to get you started.
Thanks again for your hospitality Alessandro!
We look forward to staying with you again.
Don't forget to leave a little something in the TRAVELER'S supply 😉 A microwave would be nice & maybe a memory foam mattress topper. The bed was a little firm to our liking.
- Khjohnny (9/5): Superb -
- Alessandro (10/5): perfect place - Small but well-kept apartment. I found everything I needed for my stay. The house was very clean. Excellent idea of the traveler's refrigerator, I also left a thing to drink. check-in was easy, just follow the instructions arrived by email and very convenient as I arrived when I wanted. Alessandro was very nice and he gave me information on WhatsApp. Reading the latest reviews I was a bit disheartened but from my experience I didn't have any problems. I will definitely be back!
- Elizaveta (10/5): it was an awesome apartment in the very center of Rome. This is the best location imaginable. All the most beautiful p - the owner is very kind! he was always in touch and very helpful. He speaks excellent English, which was also very important for us :)
- Margaret (10/5): loved the location! - great location, we were able to walk to most sites and good restaurants were very near by. pizza, pastry and pasta. also coffee right out the front door! bathroom/ shower small but fine for us. a great value for the money and very responsive host. would recommend!
- Krista (3/5): Very small low budget option - location. When having trouble with apartment, host responded immediately. Extremely small and wasn’t clean. I wouldn’t call the bed a mattress it was terrible. Most of the light switches didn’t work or the lightbulbs were bad. To use the toilet, your feet were in the shower. Smallest bathroom I’ve ever experienced. You could barely turn around in the shower and there was mold all over it plus stains on the bathroom mirror. Check in instructions didn’t specify which apartment it was and very hard to find in a big complex with multiple other units.
