Guest Reviews
- Judith (8/5): -
- Shallis (9/5): Great place to escape the rat race although you are only 2 minutes from the main street of Cooma. - The restoration of the old house has been done veery well. The house is in a great location, very quiet with plenty of space and room to move. Being able to site outside and just watch nature was very restful. Beds, were a little uncomfortable
- Pamela (8/5): Very enjoyable stay, sadly too short to enjoy the surrounds fully. - Loved the rustic quality of the cottage and the setting was lovely. Well equipped kitchen and pleasant lounge area. Nice and close to Cooma. The sleeping comfort would be improved by some mattress toppers and new pillows.
- Alison (10/5): Fantastic - Very peaceful and relaxing. Loved looking out at the animals and rial setting. N/A
- Brett Beattie (1/5): - The location and farm animals and the overall layout of the place It needs to be cleaned thoroughly. There was mouse poo in both cupboard in main bedroom. Tried to vaccumm it up but smell still there. The house is full of cobwebs and dust. The linen is old and towels thread bare. Carpets stained. It smells of dust and has a rank smell throughout the house. The house is a collection of mismatch items. It's full of nick knacks which are covered in dust. No remotes worked. A very hot place with only 2 oscillating fans with need a good clean.
- Geoff (8/5): The stay was a quick overnight stay on our way to elsewhere. - Our grand kids loved being able to feed the chickens and animals.
Beautiful location. The shower water ran out away from the floor waste. Making the bathroom floor wet. Tv did not work very well.
- Sophia (10/5): -
- Peter (8/5): Excellent. It was quiet and great to say hello to the animals in the morning. -
- Ray (10/5): -
- Johanne (8/5): LOVELY LITTLE COTTAGE JUST OUTSIDE OF TOWN. - Loved the stone cottage. Everything you needed was supplied. My grandson loved feeding the animals. Linen on beds and towels were very old and could be replaced.
- Dianne (8/5): -
- Terry (10/5): Always a great stay here at Woodvale, Cooma. - The location isa couple of K's out of town, so its nice and quiet. Not much to dislike about this Farmstead, it is always good, about to book our 5th return stay.
- Negar (9/5): - Nice setting
- Gail (10/5): Wonderful - would stay again. - Lovely old cottage with newer additions- not at all musty, however. One double bedroom, one small single, and one large with three single beds and a cot (3 or 4 steps and small landing to that room and no railing).
Kids adored the animals and Maria was patient and kind, explaining about them and their upkeep. Children were able to hold chicks and loved that.
The scenery is outstanding. I loved early morning on the outside setting.
It’s out of town a little (hence the peaceful outlook), so you need a car.
It’s peaceful, scenic and very comfortable with a lovely host, Maria, whom you will meet when she comes to feed the animals. Nothing to dislike although a railing to the higher level bedroom would be good. The bathroom is a good size and we managed well with 3 adults and two children.
- nortycorty (10/5): Very enjoyable for the whole family. - All creature comforts for a very enjoyable stay. There is nothing not to like
- Herman (8/5): Happy to return here - Good communication - Directions & key entry had clear instructions, easy entry with car space close to house. We brought our breakfast with us. Kitchen was well supplied and clean. Did have some some essentials. Lots of farm animal / pets so nice for children. Cooma has a cold climate so pack thermals and a good coat and beanie The house was cool on arrival but due to the stone walls inside it held the heat quite well and had an electric blanket.
- Penny (10/5): - We loved the location and the stone cottage. The farm animals were a bonus. Maria was a very accommodating host.
- Phillipa (8/5): -
- Sajin (8/5): -
- loretta (10/5): Totally relaxing -

- Miriam (10/5): Cosy, charming, comfortable and clean. Close to town and easy drive to the snowfields. Highly recommend! - We have stayed here twice now and have really enjoyed it both times. It’s comfortable, cosy, clean and full of charm! Scenic backdrop, close to town and only an hour to the snowfields. House has everything you need. Lovely family holiday Nothing

- joanne (10/5): -
- Reg (8/5): Very good -
- Shakeel (8/5): Beautiful Classic & cosy family home - It's a beautiful cottage, and we loved it. Great location, access, and plenty of space for our family of 5. If you like old classic places, this was a beauty.
We went in the snow season but the place had ample heating in all bedrooms and a big gas heater in the family room.
Beds were comfy and warm, and it had a fully functional kitchen. Second bedroom (with 3 singles) needed some cleaning, there were cobwebs on the walls and ceilings and live spiders in them.
- Shah (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (7/5): Good - Atmospheric cottage in lovely rural setting
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Great service and friendly staff 👏 The sweet house 🏠
- Rebecca (9/5): Would love to come back - Good location, very clean , everything as advertised Nothing
- Maclejend (9/5): Superb -
- Gordon (8/5): Very good -
- Jenny (10/5): Serene and comfortable accomodation. Delightful host. Wished we could have stayed longer. - Beautiful setting with farm animals and very well equipped kitchen.
- Miriama (10/5): Cooma Comfort - We loved the peace and quiet. A lovely quaint cottage with beautiful surroundings and animals. Very clean and the beds were so comfortable. Highly recommend! N/A
- Rod (8/5): A very comfortable and quiet stay in a restored historic house - Semi rural, quiet area with a few animals.
House was very comfortable, sofas were comfortable (which is very often NOT the case), bed good quality and kitchen well equipped.
We appreciated the effort made to restore the historic house Main bedroom door should swing the other way to allow access around bed
- William (10/5): Beautiful location and very peaceful. Loved all the animals. - N/A Nothing
- Lawrence (9/5): Enchanting - The setting feels like a divine country but it is only 5min drive from cooma shops. We felt so relaxed once we took in the cottage and its view. The kitchen is well equipped so we bought supplies in town and cooked at the cottage We wished we stayed more than overnight. I'd love to come back and walk along the disused rail line
- Aaron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (8/5): Very good - The location and views are beautiful. Our kids loved the animals and the space to explore after the drive. The gardens are stunning and brilliantly maintained. The price is very reasonable. We found the rooms quite cluttered and dated and the beds weren't super comfortable.
- Stevanus (9/5): Superb -
- Terry (9/5): 3rd time stay, booked again for next year so must be good eh? -
- Cheryl (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (5/5): Passable -
- Laura (10/5): A very special stay, in a very special location - We adored our stay at Woodvale. The old house had such character, and being able to sit outside and enjoy the gorgeous surrounds really made our time there feel very special. We loved the farm animals, especially the beautiful cat who is very friendly. Perfect for a family getaway
- Kel (10/5): Country cottage perfection - Brilliant setting, cozy and lovely decor, utterly perfect.
- Emma (9/5): Superb -
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional - The animals, the house was comfortable and homely and Maria was so welcoming.
- Nortycorty (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sam (10/5): Perfect, wish we could have stayed a little longer to spend time with the animals. - Lovely place and great value, much better than staying in a cooma hotel. And the cat. Nothing!
- Jenny (8/5): Good ambiance - we love feeding the animals and harvesting the chooks egg The bedroom is outdated it feels creepy
- Morgan (6/5): Simple can be more, for a more comfortable stay. - Absolutly love the design and exterior of the place. Was a beautiful peaceful location. It is spacious. Had basic needs.
Was happy to have heated blanket.
Was given bulk of bottle water to use in morning. There is room for improvement.
I can appreciate history, however, I felt I was staying at a grandmothers deceased estate. I understand trying to go for a home, cosy feel. But, Felt a bit cluttered.
Fresh, modern, simpler look would have felt more comfortable.
Bathroom: Had bit of a mouldy smell to it.
main bedroom: heater didnt really heat the room.
Gas heater in loungeroom didnt really warm up the place.
I hope this feedback is taken in a way to help and improve and not as an offence. Because you have so much potential here.
Thank you for having us. All the best.
- Stefan (10/5): Nice thank you - Cosy All good
- Miriam (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the accomodation. Very comfortable, cosy and charming. Really enjoyed all the animals in particular the cat Berri. Great location!
- Claire (9/5): Superb - A great place to stay on the way home from the snow. Kids loved the farm animals. Nice and quiet and had everything we needed.
- Josh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zoe (10/5): It was a lovely three day stay and the hosts were welcoming and helpful, quickly responding to any of our questions. Suc - The cottage was a beautiful little place with ample space and facilities, set on a lovely little farm. Our kids loved visiting the animals. We would have loved to use the fireplace but couldn’t as we had the children with us.
- Camila (10/5): Exceptional -
- P.dhillon (10/5): Excellent gateway from busy city - It was a beautiful place in the isolation, The host was excellent. Not much
- John (9/5): Will be back - Location & charm Needed new pillows

- Tim (9/5): Superb -
- Elaine (8/5): Very happy with everything - Good location and fully fenced. Perfect property for travelling with dogs. Maria the owner was very friendly .
- Sally (9/5): Perfect location and accommodation for a relaxing catch up with family. - Great location. Homely, quaint and comfortable. ???
- Lynda (10/5): Picturesque location, cottage very appealing and comfortable, Maria the host was lively and the anim - Location was lovely, cottage better than we expected animals a bonus, just the 1dt night had big problem with mosquito's which was very unpleasant had to go and get spray and plug ins, holes in flyscreens Mosquito's, otherwise stay was terrific
- Merridy (9/5): Superb -
- Di (10/5): Exceptional - Maria was a delightful host. The location was beautiful and peaceful. The animals were gorgeous. We had some mozzies at night so recommend the aerogard.
- Nirmalendu (7/5): Good. - The garden and the friendly cat. Clean and well furnished. I found two large huntsman spiders - one in the small bedroom and one in the smaller original living room. One side of the shower place is open which leads to water runoff to the bathroom floor.
- Kiran (9/5): Superb -
- Mick5355 (8/5): Very good -
- Philip (9/5): Superb -
- Kristina (7/5): Ok for one night - The location was very quiet and peaceful and felt like a farm retreat. Close enough to the main town, about a 5 minute drive, to access the shops and restaurants. The place felt a bit spooky considering there were old photos on the dressers and walls, we didn’t think it was appropriate for a place that offers short accomodation. We could not access any of the bedrooms with my son’s wheelchair so he slept on the futon in the lounge. However, when we opened it there were what appeared to be mouse droppings on the mattress.
- Anna (9/5): Superb -
- Truloff (10/5): Feels like a home away from home, but with more perks! Definitely recommend staying at this cottage! - All the amenities of a full house, and very clean. Friendly host communication. Nothing
- Neethu (10/5): Was wonderful stay .. we will go back for sure - Well maintained with all the amenities Nothing
- Carrero (8/5): Woodvale at Cooma is a cute and comfortable Cottage farm stay. - Holidays with 4 kids under 7 is a challenge however, Woodvale at Cooma was the perfect solution. Each day the kids couldn't wait to feed the animals and explore the property. The Cat (Berry) stole the show.
The house is comfortable and the heaters provide enough warmth. Holidaying with 4 kids.
- Manas (10/5): Cozy Cottange - Beautiful cottage to stay in. We loved every thing about it. Maria is an excellent host, She introduced the farm animals to us.
The propery was equipped with everything needed.
- Amanda (9/5): Superb - Cozy, comfortable and welcoming place to stay surrounded by farm animals on a big property. It’s nice and close to town and feels so homely. I really liked the album showing the restoration process of this lovely, stone cottage.
- Chun-hsien (6/5): Kids were happy. - Animals surrounding. Hot water not stable and heaters.
- Bishal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phuong (10/5): Fabulous - I liked everything about this accommodation. Nothing
- Lew (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely old cottage, surrounded by farm animals, was perfect for family stopover.
- Cecil (8/5): Very good - Close to town.
Cosy atmosphere. Heating not uniform throughout the home.
- Raj (7/5): Good - Quiet location N/A
- Bronwyn (9/5): great place to stay in Cooma. history and farm animals, comfy beds and cosy fire. loved it! - friendly farm animals. lovely historic home not far from town. I can’t think of anything!
- Leida (9/5): Warm cosy farmstay cottage- excellent for families - Cosy cottage, heated, animals, dryer Oven thermostat acting up, pots missing lids
- Michelle (8/5): A great short stay which suited our reason for travelling. - Great location, value for money. Lovely atmosphere with the animals and the country setting. the welcome chocolates were demolished quickly. We would love to come back and experience the farm atmosphere in the future. The front room was a little cold, even with the heater. The back bedroom was fine though. We were only at the property overnight, so perhaps the house just didn't have time to warm up properly.
- Deidre (4/5): The cottage is beautiful however i would not consider it child friendly - There were a lot of items around the house and a sign above the childrens toys that they must be put back exactly how they were or we could be charged more. The shower overflowed as drainage was not sufficient and it smelt like there was a dead mouse in the kitchen. I found the house to be very cluttered .
- Kristel (9/5): charming country cottage - location, farm animals, fireplace, arts walls nothing
- Amal (8/5): Very good -
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (8/5): Location excellent, just what we needed for an overnight stay from south coast NSW to Melbourne - Location was great. Ample space. Comfortable, plenty of blankets as it was a very cold day and night. Shower was very warm too. Love the animals roaming around the fenced area. Need more heating.
- Beau (10/5): Exceptional - The property was amazing. So clean and tidy.
The cottage was stunning and super comfy and cozy.
Waking up and seeing the animals was a huge bonus too.
Will stay here again in the future.
Just outstanding.
- Meredeth (7/5): Good - Characterful cottage on the outskirts of Cooma with beautiful outlook of the cute farm animals. Great for kids. Comfortable lounge area with warm gas fire. Owner was very accomodating and helpful in relation to a couple of issues that arose during our stay.
- Jill (1/5): Location and view good only. - Not secure fencing for small / medium dog. Too much clutter , nowhere to put anything down in main bedroom. Dressing table and chest drawer tops all filled up knick knacks.Bedroom heaters good, only one small fan heater in kitchen dining area. Could not light fire as not allowed with children. Small round worm/bugs ? constantly over floor in bathroom.
- Bentedeschi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (9/5): Superb - lovely farm setting with friendly animals!
- Susan (8/5): Very good - The cottage is delightful in a lovely setting with plenty of room. The double bed was comfortable but the single was very small and quite uncomfortable.
It was certainly good value but just some tea, coffee and milk would make a big difference.
- Cidinha (7/5): Good - Family environment and beautiful location Cleanness. And lack of space for clothes.
