Guest Reviews
- Mark (8/5): Amazing location. Well equipped. Very clean. Charismatic property. - Great location. Nothing
- Tremlett (10/5): relaxing - The peace and tranquility of the place, all the amenities were there, we really didn't have to bring anything other than our food, we just loved it Really there was nothing we didn't not like!!
- Stephanie (10/5): -
- Marie (10/5): Peace, tranquility and comfort, a fantastic Daintree experience. - Everything we needed was there, such a great place to stay. Nothing it was great. A minor improvement would be a hand rail for the entrance steps at the front and on the patio.
- Todd (10/5): A great stay. We had a great time thank you! - Great location.
- Michelle (10/5): Ryan our hoist was very accommodating. - Location, stunning place, Daintree forest at your door step.
Tranquil and beautiful.
- Olivia (3/5): Beautiful View, Poorly Maintained Property - Amazing location and views but that's about it. Rats, insects, holes and stains.
Unfortunately, we would not stay here again.
The property had multiple maintenance and cleanliness issues that significantly impacted our stay. There were holes in the screen door which allowed pests inside, and we experienced a rat entering the house through these openings which was revolting. In a tropical area like this, proper screening and pest control is essential.
The stovetop was missing knobs and did not function properly, and there was no ventilation fan, making cooking extremely uncomfortable. While we were aware there was no air conditioning, the two ceiling fans provided ran very slowly and did little to cool the space, the indoor temperature felt almost the same as outside.
The insect spray provided was completely empty, meaning we had to purchase our own supplies locally.
Cleanliness was also below standard, with dirt and debris under the bin and visible stains on the walls and blinds. The tv was carelessly mounted to which it almost fell off when we tried to move it to face us. Overall, the property appeared poorly maintained and not as expected.
We raised these concerns and supplied photo evidence; however, the resolution offered did not reflect the extent of the issues, and communication from the host was not helpful.
Would not recommend. There are better maintained properties in the area offering similar rainforest views and amenities. The pictures speak for themselves.
- Rebekah (10/5): - Beautiful location, well maintained and well ventilated in the warm jungle

- Mikhala (8/5): Idyllic stay in the heart of the rainforest. If you have capacity, take your own fan - Peaceful right in the heart of the rainforest. Sleeping at night with the fly screens and listening to the sounds was beautiful. Pool was an excellent bonus to cool down in. Unaware prior to booking there was no air conditioning or pedestal fans. Had our 8 month old daughter with us and not the place for babies. Had to check-out early due to the humidity. If it was just us adults, we could’ve stayed - you live and learn. Mosquitos are also really bad so stock up on repellent before heading out.
- Jade (10/5): -
- Mariana (7/5): Beautiful location - Beautiful location, stunning design with glass windows everywhere giving us the feeling that we were almost sleeping outside under the trees.
The host was very friendly, accomodating and quick to respond to queries. Very clean. The mattresses are incredibly old and saggy, extremely uncomfortable. All of them- double bed and roll away beds.
It would have been nice to have indoor clothes rack to dry bathers etc. humidity is so high it was impossible to have anything dry outside.
- Justin (10/5): Amazing, the perfect couples get away with nature. - Location was brilliant, right in the heart of the Daintree rainforest as promised. No neighbours, perfect couples get away.
The house was surrounded by the forest, ensuring a great view from every window. The double Bi-fold doors allowed the outside to come in getting a great experience. The house had everything that was needed. Through no fault of the host, satellite internet was down for part of our stay. Internet is important as there is very limited phone reception ( which is expected given the secluded location)
- William (10/5): Absolutely wonderful we would go there again - Everything, and very well appointed
- Rachel (10/5): Peace, quiet and tranquil, was one of the best places we have ever stayed at. - We had a perfect stay here at Forest Views. we would rate this is one of the best places we have ever stayed. The property is so quiet and the tranquility was amazing, great facilities, has everything you need and the kitchen was great for self catering, The pool and the sounds from the rainforest at night were amazing. We would highly recommend.

- Roberta (10/5): - The view is amazing! The place is very clean and cozy. Bed is very confortable and the kitchen is very well equipped, there is also a bbq outdoor. Best place to relax and enjoy the nature! Nothing
- NADIA (10/5): UN LUGAR MÁGICO - La ubicación, el entorno de la casa, los espacios exteriores de la casa impresionante s. Estás literalmente en medio de la selva tropical sin moverte de la terraza Heche en falta un secador de pelo
- Phillipa (7/5): Lovely location - Location was lovely, just as the photos showed Screen door was damaged, so we had wildlife visit us during the night!
- Karen (10/5): Would love to stay again - We had a lovely relaxing time and would rate this as one of the top 5 places we’ve stayed in around the world. The peace and tranquility was amazing, the facilities, the pool, bathroom and kitchen were great too. The sounds from the rainforest at night were unforgettably amazing. We would definitely stay here again (and will bring back the pool towel we accident left with haha)
- Steve (4/5): - Property was beautiful. Good location to cape trib and Daintree discovery centre. The host was quick to respond to messages. Very clean and unique. Beautiful but I don’t think worth the price due to below reasons. We had two occasions where the host arrived at night unannounced and stayed on a small cabin near the accommodation. The host’s cabin drains power from the accommodation so we lost power on both occasions (he did refund one night minus “fees”). I was a bit scared when I saw another vehicle on the property and didn’t know who it was in such a remote place.
- Lisa (10/5): Amazing Location - The location is amazing. There are views of the rainforest from every part of the house and 2 beautiful decks as well. The house was beautifully designed and well equipped with everything we needed. Just know you'll need to stock up on groceries before you arrive as it's a bit of a drive to the store. We appreciated the owners quick response to messages.
- Alison (8/5): Wonderful - Amazing surroundings The last night we lost all power and it was so dark
- David (8/5): It is a lovely spot to explore the rain forest, it has all you need and great for couples - We liked to be hidden in the jungle. The bed is good and the whole apartment is spacious The shower pressure was not good, no door to the toilet, slow internet. It was very humid, it was impossible to dry anything.
Ants came very quickly to the kitchen despite our attempts to keep all closed and in the fridge
- Ming (10/5): Exceptional - Location, views, cleaniness None
- Lynda (10/5): Fantastic stay, perfect location , spotlessly clean, well equipped .Owner communications good - This is the perfect spot to stay in the Daintree Forest . A secluded spot, centrally situated and only 5 minutes off the main road . A little piece of heaven , surrounded by the Forest and no one else in sight. So much care has been taken to ensure that everything that could be needed is supplied , even a pool. . Easy check in ,good comms with the owner , spotlessly clean. Don’t hesitate to book at Forest Views. It’s just “lovely”.
- Katherine (10/5): A tranquil place to stay and totally unwind! - Being immersed in the forest was quite an experience, especially sleeping at night with the door open (fly screen in place!). We also loved the pool.
I would recommend to anyone who was wanting to stay in that area!
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oleg (10/5): Just amazing -
- Lawrence (10/5): Incredible stay in the rainforest! We would recommend to anyone! - We loved everything about it! The location, all of the personal touches, the pool, everything!
- Danielle (9/5): A great place to stay in the heart of the Daintree rainforest! - The house was clean, well equipped and secluded which looked onto the rainforest.
- Hannah (10/5): Best stay I have experienced. - Such a beautiful experience, a beautiful place with everything you need in one place. Will become regulars at this stay. Everything was perfect.
- Julie (9/5): Amazing setting in the forest, with all mod cons. - Amazing setting in the forest. Very well equipped. It was very hard to find the entrance when we arrived, property would benefit from some signage that is visible at night.
- Michael (10/5): A perfect getaway for the ultimate forest experience... - The location is perfect for a the ultimate forest experience... especially during the night and in the early morning... lots to see... Nothing really... it was everything we hoped for and more...
- Sheather (10/5): Property was just what I needed, quiet, not people or traffic, - the peace and quiet leaving
- David (10/5): Absolutely amazing break! Perfect for a peaceful sojourn if you’re a couple. - The setting, views from the bedroom, rainforest sounds.
- Nadja (10/5): Amazing rainforest retreat - Stunning views of the rain forest with old tree growth. Pool is a massive bonus to cool off in! House design very thoughtful with beautiful touches, very comfortable bed, high quality linen and toiletries! The only challenge was for a family of 3 that the house doesn’t have any internal doors so going to toilet felt a bit awkward for my teenager- had to play music in living room ;-)
- Rebekah (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning scenery, beautiful layout, great facilities
- Lorraine (10/5): Serene location, close to all the Cape Tribulation hotspots - Everything about this properly enchanted us. The location was beautiful and peaceful, with plenty of wildlife outside and no unwanted visitors (we were worried about snakes) inside, thankfully. All of the property’s facilities were in great condition and we made good use of the outdoor BBQ and pool areas. All communication with our hosts was pleasant and friendly. Each room, including the bathroom, has views of the surrounding rainforest, however we still felt secluded and safe. The floor to ceiling views of the rainforest are incredible to wake up to each morning.
- Barry-keen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margie (9/5): A little piece of paradise! -
- Vanessa (9/5): It’s the perfect place for a rainforest escape. You really are in the middle of it all. - It was perfectly located between all attractions, walks and grocery stores. The house is the perfect size and comfortable and the pool is beautiful. It was stocked with everything you needed for at home meals and a good washing machine. The air flow wasn’t amazing and could have used a standing fan or two to allow for some air movement. The water pressure in the shower could be stronger.
- Natalie (10/5): Relaxation amongst the rainforest and musical wildlife. - The serene setting amongst the rainforest. The back deck and outlook from the living space is just so relaxing. The overall design and fittings worked well in this nature escape. Nothing! It was fab!
- Steve (8/5): Excellent location surrounded by jungle beauty. - Location is excellent. Easy drive to all the points of interest in the Daintree NP area.
You will sleep in front of the jungle as if you were in the middle of it. Wonderful.
Everything was clean and tidy. Oven and stove are not fully functional. Must use a cigarette lighter to ignite the gas. However the labels on the stove are entirely missing, knobs are missing too, so you must guess which knob controls which cook top. Thus excessive gas is released while you figure it out. Igniting the oven is a challenge.
Ants will attack any food substance left anywhere. I understand it's the jungle, so just be ready.
There are no inside doors. The shower is completely open to the sink and toilet. There is no privacy if that is important. You will hear all the natural noises of whomever is also staying in this unit.
- Kershen (8/5): Very good -
- Marie (10/5): A perfect getaway in your very own oasis. We will definitely be back - The location is stunning, tranquil, absolute oasis in the middle of the rainforest. The nightly chorus of the forest was the best thing to fall asleep to. Nothing
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (9/5): Sleeping with a window onto the forest - Absolutely beautiful view of the forest, lovely amenities and all very clean. Nothing!
- Dianne (10/5): We just loved it there. - Right in the middle of the rain forest. First class comfort
- Iain (9/5): Superb -
- Georgia (10/5): Amazing! - Property is amazing, such a good spot! Lacking instructions to get in, had to drive up a different address
- Gillian (8/5): Beautiful rainforest studio - Beautiful studio house, well equipped, and amazing location. The house would be perfect for a couple, but for a family of 4 (with early teens), the lack of privacy was not ideal. For instance, there are no bathroom doors, and it is a completely open plan studio rather than one bedroom house. Having said that, we still loved it.
- Jane (10/5): Perfect Daintree Retreat - We absolutely loved our stay. Paradise! Location perfect. View perfect. Facilities perfect. July stay and zero mosquitoes. Perfect sunny weather every day. The sheets smelled pretty bad- a musty smell
- Alexandra (9/5): Loved our stay. It was a beautiful oasis in the rainforest. - Pool, outdoor seating, beautiful outlook, great location. Loved it. Only thing would’ve made it more comfortable particularly for husband and kids was to have a mosquito deterrent like mosquito coil to burn outside on deck.
- Eloise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joshua (9/5): Perfect rainforest getaway - Awesome location in the rainforest, very luxurious, and we had a great time. Everything was available at the stay and we wish we could have stayed for longer!
- Sharon (10/5): Beautiful house, beautiful setting - Amazing spot, beautiful setting and everything in the property was excellent and clean. The deck is very nice. Peaceful and quiet. Big enough to have space for your things and more. No microwave is the only possible bad point and you can easily figure out an alternative!
- Karolyn (8/5): Very good -
- Jarrod (9/5): Superb - Rainforest and pool is amazing. Very comfortable and tidy Bathroom light worked intermittently. Linen was damp and therefore smelt.
- Sima (10/5): Love love loveeed it! - This place is such a little oasis! Being able to watch the forest during the day and listen to it by night with a complete clear view from bed was awesome (with the protection of a fly screen). I loved the pool and the outdoor shower was divine! Nothing
- Yvonne (10/5): The photos don’t do this place justice I would stay again if I was up that way. - I loved the open plan living and how the bed looks out into the forest. Listening to nature to fall asleep was great. It had everything you needed. I can’t think of anything.
- Anna (10/5): Perfect rainforest sanctuary for a couple getaway -
- Rashmi (9/5): A rainforest escape - It’s simply gorgeous…. Set amidst lush dense rainforest with a private pool and a backyard overlooking the forests . It’s an experience worth having! The host promptly responds to queries and the unit is completely self contained. It would be great to have a door to the bathroom/ toilet … this was the only part we didn’t like
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place hidden in the Forrest. Entire house with its own swimming pool.the pictures do.not do this place justice, it is way better then whay is shown.
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing little house in the rainforest. Perfectly well equipped and clean. Love the view directly on the forest.
- Amy (10/5): Wonderful - We absolutely loved our stay here. The online photos just didn’t do it justice. Perfect place to relax in the rain & sun - we were lucky enough to to experience both conditions.
- Francisco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simmi (10/5): Magical Retreat - A magical retreat in the middle of the rainforest. Nature at your doorstep from an absolutely immaculate, gorgeous studio. Laying in the comfort of your bed and hearing/watching the rainforest be a rainforest was just lush lush lush. Had a visit from a monitor lizard which was very special. Loved the little touches like board games and high-end body wash/conditioner. Started to feel like home after 2 nights and were very sad to leave. Nature being nature means leaving food around will definitely attract ants etc but can easily get around that by being careful. Surprisingly very few bugs inside the property which was good.
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional - Everything! Place is honestly beautiful, very secluded and private, had everything we needed. No air con but the fans at night are fine for sleeping. Pool is perfect to cool off in. Didn’t want to leave. Will definitely be back to stay again.
- Matthew (9/5): Your own isolated paradise - You are right in the rain forest with large doors opening directly onto the first edge. Wild life would just walk by (we saw a Cassowary twice in a few days) The apartment is on solar/generator so you need to be careful with power. This means no air con but the fans do a pretty good job keeping you cool. Phone and internet is a bit spotty, bit that's kinda a plus too.
- Tinisi (10/5): Pure Bliss! - The tranquillity, immersed in the remnants of oldest rainforest in the world and hearing all the sounds of the forest. Pure bliss!
We used the pool daily to cool off. Felt spoilt with an outside shower (hot and cold water). The home was beautifully maintained and had everything we needed!
The views from the bed and bathrooms were amazing. The mosquito screens allowed us to have the whole back open all the time. We laid in bed just watching Nature and hoping to see a cassowary visit.
We drove up from Cairns airport. There is a big Woolworths in Mossman so we stocked up with groceries and made most of fully functioning kitchen!
Highly recommended to family and friends! Clothes airer inside would be handy. It rained and clothes damp from undercover outside line. So we had them inside just improvised with chairs. Minor details.
- Duncan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Birgit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kelly (9/5): Superb -
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional - Location perfect for wildlife watching. Loved the privacy and views straight into the forest What's not to like?!
- Daniel (10/5): #Number 1 spot in the daintree. - Wow wow wow, this accomodation is as good as it gets. 1 with nature tick, amazing location in the middle of the daintree and a self contained villa with private pool all amazing. We saw a cassowary and plenty of lizards too just outside the villa. It's a great launching pad to Cape Tribulation which is iconic in its self. We loved the bed and pool and we will definitely be back. Thanks Ryan. Nothing it is flawless.
- Angela (9/5): Beautiful place to stay relax and see the Daintree - Private
Pool
In the rainforest
Wildlife and noises
Good location No door on toilet
Fold out bed was not comfortable
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tamara (10/5): Incredible, peaceful getaway with stunning views and a modern space. - We loved the peace and tranquility. The location was incredible, surrounded by the rainforest. The home itself was perfect. It had everything we needed! We were able to cook our dinner in the well-equipped kitchen, enjoy a wine on the verandah of an evening and a peaceful coffee in the morning. The open windows which gave views to the stunning rainforest right from the bed were so lovely. The pool was gorgeous. All in all a beautiful space and setting that we were very happy with! We look forward to staying at Forest Views again, for a little longer this time!
- Yuka (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely beautiful!
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - Private, clean, comfortable bed, amazing rainforest views, plunge pool Nothing. It was an amazing rainforest retreat!
- Jo (9/5): It was such an amazing experience loved it - It was so well designed
Tucked in the forest

- Anonymous (10/5): We had a lovely stay and would stay again. Feeling very relaxed. - Cabin was very clean and comfortable and was equipped with all accessories to make a enjoyable stay.
- Marvin (10/5): Amazing! - Perfect place to stay! Great location in the middle of the Daintree Rainforest, surrounded by the sounds of nature! Beatiful view. We slept with the doors open so we could listen to the sounds of the forest.
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Kylie (10/5): Exceptional - It's like having your own private oasis in the rainforest. The place has everything you need so you can chill out and enjoy the serenity from the deck or the pool or go out and explore the daintree. Going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the forest is amazing! Nothing it was all amazing.
- Nik (10/5): Beautiful, Tranquil, Great location - The location was amazing, extremely tranquil and isolated in the forest, but still just a short drive to Diwan, Cow Bay and Cape Tribulation. It was fantastic to wake up and fall asleep to the sights and sounds of the forest. The main bed was very very comfortable, and Ryan also supplied us two camp beds which were also comfy. The bathroom was tropical with a great shower and hot water, and the kitchen was well equipped with good gas stove, also a very clean BBQ (which we didn't get around to using). My daughter absolutely loved the swimming pool. We didn't meet Ryan but his communication was excellent and check in was easy.
We loved staying here and would definitely come back. Keep in mind that the house is open plan, so be aware that privacy is limited if you are travelling in a group of friends.
We recommend to book ahead if you want to eat out at a local restaurant - it can be hard to get a booking at short notice. We ended up going to the Lync Cafe at nearby holiday park, which was just OK. The kitchen and bbq in the house are great though, so stock up on food and prepare yourself a nice dinner at home!
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sallybeats (9/5): Superb -
- Lynne (10/5): Wonderful Serene Accommodation - Superb location close to all attractions. Felt like you were all alone in the rainforest. Wonderful location of bed looking out onto the rainforest. Great sleeping with the bifold doors open, listening to the sounds of the rainforest. Protection provided by strong secure screen doors. The house had everything we needed and lots of extra touches. Highly recommend.
- Stijn (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (9/5): Little slice a paradise - House was in an amazing location and very comfortable. Owner was also very pleasant to deal with. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay. Liked everything about the place.
