Guest Reviews
- Ukena (10/5): Enjoyable. Great location. - House was lovely and cosy. Felt like you were away for the weekend and could really feel at home. The cottage is well set up with beautiful gardens in a peaceful street.
- Vanessa (8/5): An wonderful place to get away for the weekend - will be re-booking in the future. - Loved the era of the home, the beautiful garden, the wood fire, the bath, the large kitchen and dining room, separate lounge with gas fire and comfy couch, comfy beds, and the central location. Possibly needs a good spring clean (things like window sills, under beds, kitchen cupboards etc). Would benefit from a few more small amenities like condiments, some nice cooking oils & vinegars, herbs & spices, jam & honey, and some salad /serving bowls ... all of which give that added convenience and comfort.
- Melissa (7/5): -
- Margaret (7/5): Quiet & cosy private accomodation in a lovely location. - Quiet location
Cosy & warm once heating activated Would be nice to arrive to a ‘warmed up’ cottage
No heating in bathroom
- Emilie (8/5): We enjoyed a relaxing weekend away - A beautiful home feel with a log fire The oven was very smelly when we turned it on- needs a good clean. I place needs a real good dusting & clean
- Peter (10/5): Delightful, cute and quirky Lemon Tree Cottage is the quintessential Blue Mountains retreat. - Cute and quirky with lovely private garden and outlook close to the centre of town. Nothing
- Gunther (10/5): Cosy stay in a gorgeous blue mountains cottage - The most gorgeous little cottage filled with charming furnishings and a beautiful garden Nothing
- Jacqueline (4/5): - Sorry to say., after staying in a fabulous cottage in Orange then coming to Lemon Tree cottage it was very disappointing. I can't say that I liked anything., don't want to offend but wouldn't recommend this and was certainly overpriced. The cottage is old., we didn't think it was very clean., they need to provide better linen and towels. It is a quirky cottage.,.but lacks a lot of charm.
- Mcgee (9/5): Superb -
- Carol (9/5): Superb -
- Jeffrey (9/5): great -
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - The space, facilities, location, and home away from home feeling. Nothing to report.
- Suzanne (9/5): Superb -
- Helene (3/5): Very disappointing - The location was good, very close to Leura town centre and the back garden was lovely. The gas fire place was a bonus.
The host was also very responsive. The cottage was musty and very unclean. It was dusty and the appliances were dirty as well. We were not confident that the bedding was clean and it smelled very unfresh. It needed a thorough professional cleaning and the pillows need replacing. The TV remote did not work and we could not find batteries to replace the old ones.
It does not have WiFi.
- Kirsten (9/5): Enjoyed our stay at the cottage, it was a cosy little retreat to come back to each day. - Very cosy and warm, close to everything and lovely and quiet.
- Karen (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay, all the comforts of home plus more - The cottage was amazing, all the comforts of home you could ask for, the spa was an added luxury.
The art work and little sculptures inside the house were charming. The sculptures in the garden were breathtaking.
Can't wait to return I couldn't fault anything
- Kerry (9/5): Superb -
- Anne (9/5): The charm of the property suited the location of the Blue Mountains - Communication between our hosts was informative and thoughtful.
- Liesl (6/5): Reasonable value due to proximity to attractions. - The proximity to the attractions of the Blue Mountains is good. We enjoyed the spa. The mattress springs could be heard and the pillows could have been, at least, medium. There was a noticeable background mustiness.
- Annamarie (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (9/5): Superb -
- Beth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ingrid (10/5): Enjoyable relaxing - Charming comfortable the garden was lovely Not much
- Kenneth (9/5): Relaxing, comfortable and quiet. - Lovely location, great garden and very quaint inside. The spa was fantastic. Would be nice to have wi-fi.
- Michael (8/5): Very cosy and easy to be there. Garden was very lovely. - The spa bath was a little difficult to get into. We're both in our seventies and a little agility challenged.
We couldn't work out how to use the sound bar on the TV so had to put up with just OK sound from the TV speakers.
No Wi-Fi.
- Brad (10/5): Fantastic location and very comfortable - Lemon Tree Cottage is located in a very quiet location but within easy walking of Leura Mall.
The house is quirky and arty with an old world feel.
The backyard is a lovely tree covered green oasis on a hot day.
The cottage had everything we required and the beds were very comfortable.
- Kaps (9/5): Superb -
- Ann (8/5): It was very enjoyable - Our breakfast was very nice thank you
We liked the king parrots and the glossy black cockatoos in the big trees at the back There wasn’t anything we didn’t like except we did not find the toaster!!!
- Watson (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyable stay in a lovely cottage, would do it again. - Location was great, easy walking distance to shops etc, loved the decor, instructions easy to follow, very comfortable.
- Nic (9/5): Clean and comfortable stay. Loved the spa, look/feel of the cottage, and the yard. Perfect ty! -
- Main (10/5): One of the loveliest properties we’ve stayed in the Blue Mountains, and we visit twice a year Can’t recommend Lemon Tree - Lemon Tree Cottage is extremely comfortable, clean and beautifully furnished.
We ate breakfast and lunch under the shade umbrella in the back garden entertained by the native birds
We enjoyed perfect weather to explore, hike a little, shop in Leura Mall and visit Everglades Nat Trust home & gardens.
All these within a short walk from the cottage , We were spoilt with sunny days and cool nights ,perfect for a special weekend with our daughter and husband from UK Can’t think of anything, its the perfect property.
- Julie (7/5): Good -
- Peter (10/5): Quaint, Clean, Well equipped and located. - Quaint, clean well equipped and located Nothing
- David (9/5): Cute and very comfortable cottage - Lovely cottage in a good location
- Debbie (9/5): Beautiful old authentic cottage in the heart of the Blue Mountains. - Beautiful little cottage in the heart of the blue mountains. Great location for exploring the Blue Mountains, very quiet, great spa bath, comfy 4 poster bed and snug warm lounge with gas heater. Loved the homely feeling of this cottage. Very cold in the bathroom - heater broken. Poor pre communication demanding money & then no communication from host regarding receipt of payment, despite asking for confirmation.
- Steve_p (8/5): Beautiuful, very comfortable cottage - Beautiuful cottage, with nice old decor, with all you could want. About 1 km walk to the shopping strip. Not a huge issue, but as I am an older person a closer location would have suited me a little better.
- Ally (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deanna (3/5): Interesting - Good shower, great location, quirky decor which is cute but very dated and somewhat feels dirty and dusty. Very strong musky smell, constant flickering light in the bathroom, dark rooms and hard to find decent lighting in any rooms, lots of instructions on not staining pillow cases yet the pillows & sheets had oily strains on them, lots of cobwebs, carpet needs a good clean, very abrupt communication,
- Sheila (7/5): Delightful, rustic cottage - This cottage is delightful. Full of old pictures and tapestries, a lovely nod to the era of the home. The gardens are quiet and peaceful, especially loved the sculpture walk around the back garden. The lounge was cosy on the cold day we experienced during our stay, and we appreciated the electric blankets. There was a plumbing issue during our stay and the owner attended and had it fixed really promptly which we really appreciated. I do think the cottage could do with a good clean. The bathroom and kitchen were rather 'grubby', light switches were dirty and towels smelt musty. The bathroom tiles are really cold, a bathmat and a heater in the bathroom would make a big difference.
- Suzanne (8/5): Very good -
- Mac_1230 (9/5): Loved the stay, looking forward to returning in the not too distant future. - The cottage & gardens were delightful. Filled with tasteful artwork & antique curiosities. The location was excellent. Nice and quiet, but not far from the centre of town. The cottage was also very well equipped with a good kitchen, and plenty of reading, viewing & listening options to relax to. Nothing. All good.
- Chloe (7/5): Enjoyed very much. - Loved the cottage, beautiful garden and scenery. Full of artwork. Great bathroom and kitchen facilities. No WiFi available.
- Leanne (10/5): Magical feeling of warmth & peaceful ❤️ - Location was excellent, beautiful quaint cottage, with a touch of retro & old charm. Fireplace excellent, spa bath was perfect, loved the four post bed, yard was rustic, We loved it & will definitely return. ❤️❤️❤️
- Anne (10/5): If you want a quiet, romantic, peaceful independent space, you cannot go better. Exceptional value -
- Petra (8/5): Very good - Perfect location, very cosy
- Kylie (8/5): Very good -
- Nichola (7/5): Comfortable. - Great location. Close to Leura Mall shops. The front of the house could do with a freshen up.
- Jason (10/5): Best cottage we've ever stayed in - Beautifully appointed. Attention to detail. Every possible need was met. The gardens are stunning. Lemon Tree Cottage is homely, cosy and transports guests to a simpler time without sacrificing creature comforts. Nothing. Everything was perfect.
- Dorothy (10/5): Lovely cottage with everything you need for a comfortable and cosy stay. - Good location and walking distance to the village of Leura.
- Erin (10/5): Beautiful, cozy, magical - Beautiful cottage in an amazing location. The weather was cold and rainy during our stay, but inside we were warm and cozy at all times. Truly felt like home away from home. Perfect sized space for my husband and I, with our two under 2 babies. n/a
- Peter (8/5): Great stay. Perfect location with easy access to everything we wanted to do. -
- John (9/5): Superb - Well equipped, cosy, homely. Unfortunate Musty smell, a good airing required. No clothes dryer for inclement weather, needed when staying longer.
Kitchen saucepan and frying pan need replacing due to age, difficult to clean.
- Cath (10/5): We had a wonderful time in this gorgeous little cottage loved the decor the comfort and feeling of the place - The quaintness the location the feeling and comfort Nothing
- Kathryn (9/5): Perfect home away from home. - Great location - within walking distance of main shopping area and train station. Lemon Tree cottage was so cosy and welcoming for our long weekend trip. We had hot then rainy wet weather. The cottage was beautifully cool, but we used the gas fire on the last day when temperature dropped. The decor is lovely and it has all the facilities you need, located in a gorgeous lush green garden. We had to leave!
- Bob (10/5): Geat cottage with excellent facilities - Beautiful cottage with excellent facilities. Within an easy walk of good restaurants and coffee shops. Nothing
- Bernadette (8/5): Great little cottage - Location was great to go for a walk and a short drive to alot of the sights. No welcome note or any welcome that you'd normally get from other places. Only got some long life milk.
Neighbours constantly looking over the fence and looking out the windows when we were having breakfast out on the back deck.
- Anthony (1/5): Arrived but didn’t stay due to cockroach issue. - The property did not accurately reflect what was offered in the advertised description or photographs. We didn’t stay as we found a cockroach between the pillows. There were other issues such as the ‘quality’ towels they promised - see all my photographs. The owners accused us of fishing for reasons to leave and denied the cottage was dusty and musty smelling. A very upsetting experience for 3 retired ladies . The owners don’t seem to want to compensate us despite finding a cockroach in the bed - unbelievable.
- Hilary (9/5): Lovely cosy cottage. - Gorgeous little mountain cottage, absolutely stuffed with interesting things. Garden is a delight, full of artworks. Very comfortable and cosy. Close to Leura Village and Blue Mountains attractions. Very quiet and peaceful area.
- Jeff (9/5): Superb -
- Carol-joy (8/5): Delightful three days. - Location great. Garden cute. Camelia in the little water bath was a lovely touch. The two air conditioners were ineffective. They need replacing. It affected comfort.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (8/5): My second stay at Lemon tree cottage.Perfect spot to show family from the uk around the Blue Mountains. - Comfortable, artistically decorated. Nothing
- Deb (10/5): Must Stay - Lovely, cosy, comfortable cottage. Gorgeous back garden to relax in. Lots of interesting/quirky pieces to look at inside and out. Loved our stay. Great Location Nothing
- Gidget (7/5): Would be great to come back in warmer months when it wasn't so cold. - It was a little further form the shops than I expected but location good otherwise. Quiet neighborhood and lots of birds. Beautiful setting. Would be lovely to sit out in warmer months to enjoy nature and locations. Beds very comfortable and warm with heated blankets. I have issues with ankles and legs from a prior car accident and my friend has knee issues. The bathroom had a spa bath with shower overhead. Spa bath was quite deep which made it hard to get in and out of. Not great for people with a disability. Wasn't stated in information. Heating in wider cottage not great but we stayed in the lounge area which had a gas fireplace which kept us warm. Walkway from street had tree trip hazards again not disability friendly and had to carry suitcases over the rough areas.
- Kim (10/5): A very cosy, eclectic Cottage with a historical feel. The gardens were lovely. - Location was great!
- Cailyn (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (7/5): Good - The property was warm with lots of different types of heating especially good wood supply important for winter in the mountains as was the hot water for the shower. Overall comfortable! Too crowded with personal pieces from the owner. If you were staying longing you would have had difficulty finding space to put your clothes. Every inch of space had something on it. Sometimes less is more.
- Phillip (8/5): Very good - The location in a quiet and beautiful part of Leura was excellent. The cottage was well equipped for our stay or longer. The initial appearance was disconcerting. The front garden and pathways to the front door were somewhat dishevelled. There was a confronting musty smell when entering which lingered during our stay.
- Anna (8/5): Very good - Great location and lovely homey cottage. Bit musty smell when we first arrived however fine after being aired for a few hours.
- Gail (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (9/5): Superb - charming retro and private property
- Wendy (9/5): Really had the wow factor and we enjoyed the back to nature - Quirkiness. A blast from the past - revisiting the 60s. Interesting collection of paintings, sculptures and other art works. Wonderful bird life.
- Kerry (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Ok (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (10/5): Lovely mountains cottage - A lovely mountains cottage, very comfortable for a four-day stay. The facilities were all great. N/A
- Stephen (9/5): Lovely Lemon Tree Cottage - Despite a few quirks common to most older homes, the cottage is utterly charming and cosy. The garden is enchanting too. We would definitely visit again
- Debbie (9/5): Fabulous cosy character filled cottage. Wonderful amenities. Highly recommend. - 10/10. This is simply a beautiful little cottage - full of character & charm. The bed and sofa were so comfortable and the wood fire in the kitchen and gas fire in the living room made it nice and cosy when it was cold outside. The owners have clearly listened to some of the negative reviews (there are grab handles & a heater in the bathroom now). The spa was excellent (especially due to its garden outlook) and the kitchen exceptionally well stocked. We had an amazing stay and would definitely return. The cottage was fabulous but communication was very blunt - a few pleasantries goes a long way to make guests feel welcome.
- Garry (9/5): Superb -
- Caroline (10/5): Beautiful cosy country cottage - Beautiful quirky cottage in a quiet location on the edge of Leura village. Very comfortable four poster bed in main bedroom, lovely snug lounge with very effective gas heater, which was very welcome as the weather was pretty cold during our stay. Lots of interesting art work on walls, loved the homemade quilts around the place, sculptures in garden. Well appointed kitchen and outdoor bbq, everything we needed. Minor issue that the shower was great but had to climb over the edge of the spa bath to access (could be an issue for guests who are less mobile). Parking was ok but a little tight- would struggle if 2 couples each with a car.
- Laura (7/5): Good -
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
- Jodie (8/5): Very good -
- Virginia (9/5): It was lovely, probably needs abit of a de-clutter. - Cosy little cottage, heaters were great. front pathway needs to be redone, it is messy and dangerous. No gladwrap or foil
- Dianne (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Binky (10/5): The perfect winter cottage - fireplace and bath tub! -
- Adam (7/5): Good -
