Guest Reviews
- Yolande (7/5): - Prachtig gelegen!

- Christine (10/5): Beautiful location and wonderful restaurant on site - A beautiful location with a wonderful restaurant on site. The photos on this website do not do the location justice. The people at the restaurant were so helpful and friendly the place for full and the owner managed to get us a table. It’s really nice you can have drinks overlooking the abbey and then head inside for food, the place is full of locals. It’s fully booked on a weekend which is always a good sign. It’s lively to have breakfast with the highland cows and you can hear the stream surrounding the property. A very memorable stay.
- Olivier (9/5): - rien
- sylvie (10/5): -
- Diane (10/5): We had a lovely overnight stay wished we could of stayed longer - Everything,it was clean very quiet and very comfortable We had trouble locking the door when we were leaving

- Christelle (9/5): -
- Thaïs (10/5): Prachtig rustgevend, we komen zeker terug! - Prachtige plaats, prachtig Huis ( de molen)
Alles zeer netjes, goede bedden, veel ruimte
Zeer vlot in te checken.
Alles was top inorde.
- DORIAN (8/5): -
- Edward (10/5): - Simply outstanding accommodation and amazing historical grounds...Onsite dinner was great...very clean house
- Laura Vinck (6/5): Kan beter - We would like to start on a positive note: the stay had a unique location in a valley surrounded by beautiful nature and the abbey. In other words, the property has a lot of potential.
However, we were quite disappointed by the hygiene upon arrival. We found hair in the shower and on the sheets, as well as insects and dust. It seemed as though the property hadn’t been cleaned in a while, which immediately took away the joy of what was meant to be a relaxing family weekend.
After informing our host—who was friendly—we noticed that only the bathroom was cleaned somewhat afterward.
For a weekend that cost €800, we expected to arrive in a clean environment and not have to start our holiday by cleaning ourselves. Our young toddler couldn't safely crawl on the floor, which was particularly frustrating.
It feels like our standards of cleanliness are clearly different.
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Elakiya (9/5): Superb -
- Trevor (8/5): If the location suits you (it is remote) then book it. - The house was immaculate. Very recent restoration done to a high standard. The location was great for our road trip. There are two double bedrooms and 4 single beds in the roof room. 2 bathrooms, a big well equipped kitchen with large dining table and a nice lounge area for when it gets a bit cold outside. Loads of parking and two superb restaurants which due to a concert, were unfortunately fully booked. But the terrace kindly did us a limited choice and boxed it up to take back to the house. The waiter couldn’t have helped us more. Nothing. Everything was superb.
- Gülcan (8/5): Very good -
- Eric (9/5): Worth the trip. - The history is excellent Check in was a little confusing. The property could use better signs for the different buildings
- Gabriela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carla (6/5): limited - Access was with a code.
Nice bistro next to the house. (with personal service from Valerie, who does a great job)
Beautiful location for walks.
comfortable beds. the kitchen was not very clean, we needed to wash the (limited) glasses before first use, and the cupboards could use a deep clean. The windows looked like the hadn't been cleaned in a long time. (spider webs...)
There is no cosy area inside the house to relax. Yes, there is a sofa, but again, nothing cosy about it.
The terrace outside is small, and furniture is not comfortable. We even put the kitchen chairs outside to have some comfort.
Unclear when we could enter and should leave the premises.
- Itamar (10/5): Amazing stay in a medieval renovated house set in an idyllic, pastoral scenery - We slept at the Bief du Vivier, a small stone house located on the grounds of a medieval convent, Abbaye Notre Dame du Vivier (not active any more). There are a bedroom, a living room and a fully equipped kitchen with a large dining table on the ground floor, two full bathrooms and a bedroom on the second floor, and a large attic including four twin beds. As a family of four, we used only part of the rooms and the beds. Although the building is historical, all is renovated and brand new on the inside. All is surrounded by the green and lush grounds of the convent, with farm animals such as Merino Sheep on the courtyard, a small stream at the entrance to the house and a good local (and quite popular) restaurant operating at the former chapel, across the stream. The main building of the convent, just across the parking lot, is going through renovation so there are building materials scattered there and even a construction crane, just across from the sheep. Also, the house is full with Christian religious décor, as befits a former convent (but now it was turned into a modern accommodation) so if you dislike religious symbols in your bedroom this place might not be the best choice (we still enjoyed it very much).
- Jessica (8/5): Very good - Very spacious and lovely grounds to walk around.
The restaurant was a lovely recommendation at the Chapel.
Easy communication with the host. There was no hand wash, tea or coffee pods in the accommodation.
It's quite hard to get around the area without a car.
- Carlo (9/5): Superb -
- Ronie (8/5): Very good -
- Mili (6/5): big disappointment !! - historical monument. by hiking trails . different animals around. in one word- disappointment! nothing like the photos on the website. construction on site now. very puritan layout. not even a carpet in the living room. cold. we had to use our coats while seating in the living room. windows were probably not being cleaned for a while - full of bugs and some of the beds were not clean, also the cutlery drawer. no tea bags , just coffee. no recommendation in the room for things to do in the area, trails to walk, supermarket around, or where to have breakfast. most important-no respond from owner when we sent photos of the un-cleaned beds. nothing. for the price we paid it was a disgrace. maybe it looks different in the summer : more like the photos they published but its definitely not a place to enjoy a cosy winter weekend.
- Aishelie (10/5): Stunning - The view is beautiful and amazing location. Loved the animals and especially the house. I wish I stayed longer
- Olivier (9/5): Superb -
- William (8/5): top - very good old furniture for the terrace, bad chairs
- Rasma (10/5): Exceptional - The house is just fantastic! Very tasteful and good quality design, beautiful old sculptures and artwork, it is beautiful and very well equipped (especially the kitchen! nothing is missing). The rooms are comfortable. Also in the summer heat the house is pleasantly cool. We enjoyed the terrace. It is located on historic abbaye grounds, so the surroundings are exceptional. We really enjoyed the restaurant, kids loved the farm animals and the gardens and the overall feel of the place is jūst superb. all was great
- Richard (9/5): Superb - Location was fabulous
