Guest Reviews
- Heidi (4/5): This house is best suited to young surfers or groups wanting a very basic stay. I wouldn’t recommend it for families or - While the upstairs bedroom balcony does have a view, the balcony off the living area does not. It looks directly into the neighbouring balcony, which wasn’t tidy and was not the beautiful view we expected from that deck area. This house is better suited to young surfers. I wouldn’t recommend it for families or anyone wanting a comfortable, relaxing holiday.
The beds were very uncomfortable — the upstairs bed was so old that I had to go to Kmart and buy a mattress topper just to be able to sleep. The property itself is quite dated, and the photos in the booking listing appear to be very old and do not reflect the current condition of the house.
The second bathroom has a shower curtain which was mouldy and not very inviting.
The dryer was also inconvenient to use, requiring $1 and three 20c coins, and it is located outside in a small room underneath the house. The kitchen was poorly equipped as well, with only seven dinner plates provided
- Pete (7/5): Good - House is nice layout and good location No ac, no bbq, wasn’t clean, spiders inside the house, spider webs in does and ceiling
- Martina (8/5): Our new favourite holiday house at beautiful Angourie - we'll be back! - Great location - beautiful short walk to the delightful Spooky's beach, Blue Pool and excellent cafe. We easily visited the beach several times a day - just a quiet stroll through the lovely bush path. The cafe - virtually across the road - is open early in the morning and do excellent coffee & breakfast. The staff were very friendly and they also opened on Sunday afternoon for live music and cocktails which was great fun.
Also Angourie is our favourite holiday destination - quiet and peaceful yet only 10 minutes to shops and restaurants in Yamba.
we went for beautiful walks from the house to the adjacent headland and Yuragir
National Park The house really is a 'hideaway' - completely surrounded by a leafy garden so it's totally private from the road and feels like you're in a tree house. Gorgeous!
3 seperate deck areas - with 3 of the bedrooms opening directly onto them and plenty of room for outdoor meals. We stayed in the master bedroom upstairs with amazing ocean views, and did yoga on our deck each morning. We also brought hammocks which we hung on each deck.
The kitchen was well equipped for a holiday house.
The laundry downstairs has a commercial sized washer and dryer which was useful (just be prepared to pay for use of the dryer, and have the correct coins!).
Having 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets was handy for our group size (the 3rd toilet isn't mentioned in the listing).
Great to have a couple of undercover carports. For the high price we paid for 1 week in December, we felt there should have been the standard inclusions of linen, a BBQ & wifi. (While we can live without wifi, the other 2 things are fundamental - especially a BBQ at a coast house with 3 decks! There is the option to hire linen for even more money, which we felt was pretty unreasonable.. We've stayed at many coastal holiday houses throughout NSW and run a successful 16 bed AirBnB ourselves, so we have reasonable and realistic expectations about what the market supplies.)
