Guest Reviews
- Steven (10/5): Een aanrader !

Aangenaam verblijf, zeer vriendelijke hosts.

- allison (10/5): We enjoyed our stay.the sun eps were indeed steep but if you just go surely and slowly you will be fine! - Cozy, lots of characters and great location. Pillows were too hard
- nicole (9/5): - La situation de cette belle maison en plein centre, ancienne atypique mais extraordinaire et confortable Rien de négatif
- Tara (10/5): Quirky and cute property with plenty of space to hang out - great for family or close friends! - Cool property with lots of character (exposed beams, quirky stairs, neat art/furniture). Great location which was walkable to everything and on a pretty and quiet street. Awesome friendly hosts who communicated well and provided lots of helpful information/tips. They also allowed us to drop our bags inside the front door prior to check in which was a great help! Lastly, there was an iron/ironing board which was such a luxury since none of the hotels in Europe seem to have one!
Tips/Information:
Layout of the house is as follows: Ground floor is kitchen/toilet room/dining area/playroom down some stairs to the basement; second floor is up crazy stairs and has the lounge and a large shower/toilet room; third floor is up more crazy stairs and has a toilet room and two small bedrooms; forth floor is up normal stairs and has the outdoor roof area, a large attic bedroom, and a shower room with sink.
Do not underestimate the stairs (see photos taken from lounge)- they are steep older style wooden spiral stairs with small steps, creaky sounds, and uneven boards. The lounge and all bedrooms are located up the stairs, but we loved them and there was much laughter! The only room that fits the baby cot is at the very top, but it has a shower and sink which is convenient for baby care.
We took a bus from the train station and then walked the remaining 15 minutes. We saw a free city bus later but didn't use it, as it doesn't come up on the Google maps options (perhaps this would have taken us closer).
Essentials such as tea/olive oil were available, but we provided our own milk (there is a small supermarket 5 minutes walk away). The pillows were a very thick memory foam style which were not great for us back/stomach sleepers. Perhaps some extra pillows would make for a more comfortable stay so that guests may choose their preferred type.
- Dario (9/5): - Awesome location, super easy access, very clean, very comfortable, beautiful interiors, fully furnished and with all necessary utilities to get started, even coffee :D Those stairs are scary even if you're fully able-bodied

- Alastair (8/5): Relaxing, good to get together with the family, close to restaurants and bakery - Close to everything. Ideal for extended family to get together. Good value for money, spacious. Don’t expect boutique, it is functional and cosy and quiet location.
We had no problem with the stairs, we know what to expect in Bruges. Please fix the wobbly tiles in the kitchen, we worried that they ours crack! A long mirror would be handy too!

- Hagger (10/5): A lovely house from which to explore a beautiful city - I liked the location, it was quiet yet only a few minutes from the Market Square. The property was quirky and a wonderful mix between old and new. Everything was spotless. The beds were comfortable. The showers were big. I really liked the use of the space behind the living room, where there was a shower, lavatory and basin. It was like a secret passage. The chairs in the living room were very comfortable. The kitchen had plenty of crockery, cutlery and utensils, not that we ate in much as there was so many nearby restaurants and cafes, and our hosts provided a comprehensive list of suggested eating places. The coffee provided by the hosts was delicious. The hosts had emailed about parking, so we were able to drop our luggage at the property and then take the car to parking that was about 20 minutes walk away. The terrace between the two bedroom floors was narrow, yet what fun, to sit out in the evening and enjoy the view of the church and rooftops while listening to the bells around the city. We stayed when it was quite warm, and the hosts had provided the bedrooms with electric fans. I was aware that the property had an old, narrow staircase, and the hosts reminded me when I booked the property. The treads were narrow, the stairs steep, so we all had to hold on when using the stairs, which limited how much stuff could be carried, especially when we wanted to sit out on the terrace having an evening drink.
- Victoria (10/5): Fabulous - An amazingly different and quirky house. Full of character! Would highly recommend provided, as stated in the description you are comfortable getting up narrow twisty stairs. Highly recommended and would return! A few of the tiles on the floor were loose so rocked when stood on so worried they may break if stepped on accidentally but all good otherwise.
- Nicolette (9/5): Great stay , recommend for mobile travellers - Great location and fabulous old house. Bit hot on the top floors but understandable in an old house
- Shane (10/5): Had a great stay at the Cosy house.couldn’thave been better great location and lots of room - The location was amazing and the host very accommodating.
- David (9/5): Great first trip to Bruges. Recommendations by the hosts were very helpful. - Great location. The layout was quirky but it added to the experience. Hosts were extremely helpful and responsive.
- Ankit (9/5): Lovely property with perfect location - The location is amazing.
The house has a number of bedrooms and number of bathrooms/toilets; little one just loved the downstairs cave :-)
The host were very responsive and very accommodative. The windy staircase; we were aware of it not being suitable for people with limited mobility but it was a bit challenging for us to use as well, just had to be extra careful but that wouldn't stop us from booking this property again.
- Angela (9/5): Superb -
- Nico (10/5): A bucket list dream stay in one of the most beautiful European towns! - The accommodation was super close to everything we wanted to see in Brugge. It was amazing to stay in such a historic house which has everything you need. The hosts were very friendly and responsive. They answered all our questions and were very accommodating. We also appreciated the fact that the Booking.com advert was 100% honest, unlike other experiences we have had recently had with other accommodations. Nothing.
- Farida (10/5): Exceptional -
- Massimo (7/5): All things considered, it was still a good experience. - we stayed in this house for 3 nights. The house is very well positioned for what there is to see in Bruges. The internal cleanliness is absolutely perfect, as well as the area is very quiet at night. The coded system for accessing the cash register is also excellent. Unfortunately, the internal spiral staircase does not make the house easily usable, not only for those with mobility problems (as specified immediately in the characteristics of the house), but also for those who may have to get up at night to go to the bathroom and have to put your feet on the wooden ladder.
In fact, this is what happened during the first night to one of my friends, who fell down the spiral staircase, fortunately without causing any damage.
None of us have mobility problems (so much so that in 4 days we walked almost 40 km in Bruges), but it is clear that that type of staircase can hide pitfalls even for those who are perfectly skilled in movement.
- Arlene (7/5): Good - Location was really great and the house was beautiful - very quirky with lots of lovely old features. I would imagine it's not possible to make any improvements on the staircase as it is an old building, but as the house is spread out over three floors, the spiral stairs are very steep and not suitable for anyone with mobility issues - even without, it was difficult to navigate, particularly if needing the bathroom in the night.
- Fiona (9/5): Loved your beautiful city and despite the stairs had a great stay - Location was fabulous, had everything we needed for a short stay. Staircase was extremely scary to use. We ended up having to find a hotel for my 73 year old mother as there is no way she could have got up and down them. Would not have liked to have to use these stairs longer than a few days
- Quan (10/5): Great spot for an extended family visit to Bruges. -
- James (10/5): Great and stylish old house in central Bruges - Beautiful, interesting house, well restored and as described on the site (including the steep staircases), only 5 minutes' walk from the centre of Bruges. Warm, clean, spacious, stylish - and a roof terrace. Everything worked well. Hosts were very helpful and swift to respond with any questions, including local suggestions of places to eat or visit. Very highly recommended! Nothing really. Minor suggestions: A pair of oven gloves and a sharp knife would add to the very well equipped kitchen. For the British, a teapot is always welcome but improvising is possible! A rain cover for the table and benches on the roof terrace would make them more usable all year round, as they would stay dry.
- Malina (10/5): lovely house, very cute, great location. - very cute quirky house. Loved the balcony. the bathrooms where harder to access from the bedrooms.
- Richard (7/5): The location of the home is wonderful; however, the home needs to replace the bedding and pillows. - Location.
Unique home filled with history. The beds and pillows were not the most comfortable. The duvet covers need to be replaced as they are very dated and have holes in them. The house also needed some cleaning as the showers smelled awful as did the kitchen.
- Murat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shannon (10/5): delightful and calming - spacious and clean with sweet little touches the stairs are very interesting in design but not made for big people or children or drunks
- Frida (10/5): Lovely weekend with friends and cool to stay in this old authentic town house. - Amazing location, the details and design in the house. Fast response and recommendations from the hosts. Many bathrooms and toilets. Stairs was a little bit steep. Would have been nice with some extra duvets in the beds.
- Tobias (10/5): Exceptional -
- Russell (9/5): Superb - Fabulous 3 storey house very close to the market place in Bruge, 3 double bedrooms all very comfortable - also 3 toilets and 2 showers. Ideal for exploring Bruge
underground car park very close. 2 flights of very tight spiral stairs are not ideal for elderly or young children.
