Guest Reviews
- Chloe (10/5): Lovely property - The location is brilliant. Getting to the property is very easy as is accessing it. The size of the property and its amenities are fantastic.
I have stayed here twice now and would happily come back. The property is in need of a little TLC, mainly in the bathrooms.
- Vicki (6/5): Average stay at best in good location - Location good - close to train. Washer /dryer useful. Heating was good. Very steep stairs for suitcases or young or elderly. One toilet did not flush properly, lost a number of lights. Flat dirty overall including bathroom. Showers not great.
- Sherifa (5/5): Overall, based on these issues, I don't believe the price we paid for a five-night stay was justified. - My experience with the host was pleasant, as they responded promptly to all my inquiries. The location was convenient, providing easy access to many of London's top tourist attractions.
However, the accommodation had significant drawbacks. The space was extremely dusty, which was particularly problematic for my family, as we are highly allergic to dust. We had to clean it ourselves, making our stay far less enjoyable than expected. The spiral staircase, while charming in photos, proved impractical for maneuvering large luggage. Additionally, the toilet in the half bath attached to the bedroom was difficult to flush, causing inconvenience. The bed in the second bedroom on the upper level was worn out and uncomfortable, adding to our discomfort.
Overall, based on these issues, I don't believe the price we paid for a five-night stay was justified.
- Emily (10/5): I liked the location. Townhouse was spacious. Spiral staircase was a bit challenging for older traveling companions. - Location NA
- Eduardo (8/5): Excellent communication. Clean home. Comfortable space. - In a quiet area One of the rooms could use a new mattress. Aside from that all was well.

- Ruth (8/5): A cosy apartment in South Kensington that’s nice to come home to. - Gina was an outstanding host who secured the property for us when there was an issue through booking.com. She is highly responsive and a lovely host.
Great central location close to South Kensington station. A very cosy apartment that was lovely to return to at the end of the day. Comfortable beds and wonderful supply of quality towels. A well appointed kitchen that allowed home cooking. The staircase is very tight and narrow. There is no toilet on the ground floor. The bedrooms and bathrooms were not cleaned very well.
- Mccarthy (8/5): - Location, charm, good local facilities and shopping and dining options
- Daniel (9/5): A wonderful location with easy access to enjoy London. - The location was fantastic, in a really lovely neighbourhood. It is only a short walk to the station and shops. It was great to have three separate bedrooms.
The host Gina communicated really well and provided detailed instructions for everything we needed to know.
- Rimvydas (4/5): One of the worst stays we've experienced — the property was neglected, dirty, and far from what was - The location was great, with plenty of coffee shops and restaurants just around the corner. The bed was very comfortable, and the linen was acceptable. I really loved the staircase feature — it has so much potential — but it would truly shine if the walls were cleaned and a nice carpet was added. With a good deep clean and some much-needed updates in the kitchen, this property could be transformed. Aside from these few positives, there’s little else I can praise. It simply needs care and attention. With some love, it could be a truly lovely place. We stayed at this property while working in the area for the week, so it was not a leisure stay. We always stay in this area around this time of year, and for this trip, we had reserved three different properties. We chose this one because the images looked the nicest, so we cancelled the other two. To be honest, we have never stayed in a property in such poor condition with such a clear lack of cleanliness.
Upon arrival, the first thing we noticed was the clutter under the stairs, which gave a poor first impression. The kitchen was particularly dirty — I had to clean the cupboard doors myself as they were extremely grimy. The wine glasses had clearly been used by previous guests and were not washed. The cutlery drawer was also dirty, so I ended up hand-washing all the utensils, plates, and cups we needed. There were only three forks available, and many of the pots and pans were unclean as well. The microwave wasn’t working, and several kitchen cupboard doors were missing handles. There were spider webs and food stains on the walls, and the boiler cupboard was full of dust, suggesting it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The area under the sink was disorganized and cluttered with cleaning products.
In the bedrooms, there was a lack of hangers and no chairs or surfaces to place clothes. The shower curtain was filthy with pink stains, and the soap dispenser was covered in black grime and not functional. In the top bedroom, the floor of the cupboard had random items, including a pair of trousers, and the floor itself seemed like it hadn't been cleaned properly in some time. The blinds were dated and heavily marked.
It’s clear that the property lacks care and attention from the owner. However, I will say that the staircase, while challenging to navigate with a suitcase, was a lovely feature with potential.
We contacted the property owner regarding our concerns.
- Kristina (4/5): It's in a great location, but needs some fine tuning asap. - + great cooking gear- pots, etc all good quality.
+ consistently warm.
+ host approachable and solution focused when a problem arose.
+ beds comfy
++ location to station, shops, museums. - the stairs are steep, and yes are clearly outlined in the listing, but, up to the 3rd floor bedroom the stairs narrow in both width of the stairwell, and width of the stair. Leave your luggage downstairs, it isn't worth trying to get it up there.
- the stair rail is not connected at the top of the 3rd floor, and you can see where paint has chipped off the railing. The chipped paint allows blue plastic to show through, it seems the railing is blue plastic cabling/conduit painted and screwed into the wall.
- shower on 2nd floor is broken and sprays everywhere.
- ensuite toilet on 2nd floor rarely flushed well
- nearly every room had lights that were out and needing replacement. One room had zero lights working except a lamp on the table.
- kitchen is dirty, there was food crumbs, hair and dust in all the corners. Fridge smelled bad.
- very noisy from the road, people talking, cars driving etc, closer look showed that several windows did not shut firmly.
-listing for occupancy up to 6 pax, only 4 seats at dining table, only 2 drinking glasses.
- cupboard under the sink was stacked high with products, bags etc, just a mess to navigate.
- the wall in the kitchen is peeling and mouldy, after a night of rain the wall was visibly wet in places and plaster flakes were on the floor.
- - - I went looking in the cupboards for extra blankets when my teen got a cold so they could nap on the couch. Found things stacked in every nook possible in almost every cupboard. Thought I'd found what I needed when there was a duvet, only to take it out and see big blood stains all over it. Shook that off, continued hunting, to find a pillow case full of used towels and mattress protector again with blood.
The host was approachable and friendly when I contacted them about an urgent thing, so I'm sure i could have said all the above to them to fix, but seriously, a bag of dirty linen? No lights?
- Jennifer (6/5): Great location, nice bedrooms, but sad common area - Read the reviews carefully before booking. This property has a wonderful location on a quiet street and is close to cafes, museums, and the S. Kensington underground station. Yes, there are 4 toilets, but two of them are so tiny that my leg pushed up against the wall, and I'm a small person. The bedrooms were nice and the beds comfortable. We enjoyed our stay but found the ground floor pretty sad, considering how expensive it was. The host was responsive to my questions. The living room is gloomy and you can't see out the window. The kitchen looks like it's from the 1970's and there's an active leak on one of the walls. There's nowhere to hang your clothes, apart from 3 robe hooks on the back of the door. There was stuff filling most of the cabinets, like cleaning supplies and extra bedding, so you couldn't use the cabinets. We only had one set of keys so I had to lock my kids in if I went somewhere when they were sleeping. There was no way for them to open the locked door from the inside, despite the host saying the door would open. So they were trapped inside, which isn't safe. Several of the lights were burned out.
- Emma (8/5): Just right for what we needed. - Gina was a brilliant host! When I needed to contact her she replied almost immediately and sorted it out as soon as she could. Location was brilliant. There were 4 bathrooms/shower rooms. made life much easier getting ready in the mornings. The spiral staircase was a bit dicey up top and a narrow. Not suitable for small children or disabled people. The kitchen could have done with an update.
- Pak (7/5): Good - Location Toilets are very small. Basins are too small for cleaning. Staircase is too narrow. It takes so long to carry luggages from ground floor level.
- Nina (9/5): Wonderful stay in London - Lovely house, comfortable beds, great location, very close to South Kensington Station
- George (10/5): Good value, good local, small rooms, unusual staircase but we had a great time. - Space for 3 couples, reasonable kitchen and laundry, rooms are small and little closet space but great location and value. The staircase is narrow but we packed with cubes vs having to carry luggage upstairs. One shower and one toilet not working but manager noted and fixed it.
- Talia (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (7/5): Location was great, easy to get around. comfy compact apartment - awesome location, comfortable apartment spiral staircase was great but manageable
- Jean (7/5): Good -
- Sarah (7/5): Overall, the stay was ok. The location was the best part. - The location was great. Not far from the tube. Many restaurants in walking distance. No bathroom on main floor. Toilet difficult to flush. Clothes dryer did not work. The stairs are spiral and difficult to handle with luggage or frequent need to use the bathroom.
- Sean (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (7/5): Good - Location Narrow spiral stair as one person’s mobility in our group found it too difficult
- Kendall (9/5): Great stay, amazing location in London. - Location was perfect. Situated on a quiet street but a short walk to museums, restaurants, grocery stores etc.
Easy to access property, great communication with Gina.
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Amy (10/5): The house was perfect! The location was ideal. - Everything! The location was key! Very close to South Kensington station. The neighborhood was quiet, but able to walk everywhere. The house was clean! There were plenty of amenities provided including towels, linens, etc. The owner was kind and provided excellent check-in and departure instructions. A+++ We liked everything. No complaints at all.
- Helen (8/5): Wonderful stay in a great spot and good value - Wonderful location and lots of bathrooms which helped for getting ready for a wedding. Could be less cluttered
- Brian (8/5): We chose the town house for where it was situated… . Lovely area to stay in . We would certainly book again .😊 - The town house was perfectly situated! We had easy access to all the places we wanted to visit .The host was very nice and accommodating. We were arriving very early on the London train and she allowed us to leave our luggage in the town house to save us carrying it around with us until our check in time .😊 Not really any wardrobe / units in the bedrooms and the spiral staircase was a little hectic to get suitcases up to the top floor … but we managed and we did all have a girly laugh about it !!
- Rona (8/5): We had a great time, loved the location, but had a hard time w the stairs. - Location Stairs
- Simone (8/5): Great location for cooler months - Great location - close to everything Couldn’t open lounge windows and London was unusually warmer so not ideal.
- Julie (9/5): Charming townhouse in an excellent location and a great value. Would certainly visit again. - The property location is excellent! The Chelsea area is full of museum's, shops and restaurants so you could spend a day exploring close to the property. A short walk to South Kensington tube will get you to all the other highlights of London.
Gina was excellent with communication and providing us with tips for the area.
We were a group of 5 so the 3 bedrooms/ 3.5 baths was perfect. Very comfortable stay. Thank you! The spiral staircase is narrow and steep. Could be difficult with large luggage and small children.
- Rachel (10/5): A comfortable stay in a great neighbourhood. Easy walk to trains and buses. -
- Maree (10/5): Definitely stay again - Location was brilliant, close to South Kensington tube, walk to King’s Road, Chelsea, gorgeous neighbourhood. Nothing, just be careful on winding stairs.
- Joanne (8/5): A very comfortable, great value 3 bed, 2 bath home in fantastic location. - The townhouse is in a fantastic location. Great for transport and for local pubs, shops etc. The little Elystan Rd precinct is gorgeous and we loved Villa Mammas, the Middle Eastern restaurant so much we went twice.
Gina was extremely prompt and helpful in all communication. The property is excellent value for 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in Chelsea. The beds were extremely comfortable and all the linens/plates/glasses etc were new and lovely.
We were a group of 3 friends and it had everything we needed for a very comfortable 5 night stay. The staircase is very steep and narrow so tricky for luggage. The bathrooms are compact and both kitchen and bathrooms are a little tired, but all perfectly fine.
- Davide (8/5): Very good -
- Nguyen (7/5): Great and convenient location. - Location was the best, which was very easy to walk to the tube, and local restaurants. The pillows are too soft. Need more toiletries.
It could be very noisy from neighbours opening/closing doors and even water running from the pipe.
The house’s spiral staircase is definitely not suitable for young kids.
- Amber (8/5): nice experience - position is good.
- Sandra (7/5): fantastic location , comfy beds. - fantastic location needs some work, looking a bit worn , a few things need fixing but host aware and easy to contact , friendly. unit smaller than photos depict, spiral stairs tricky , do not take big bags, not for kids or elderly or dodgy knees!
- Sarah (10/5): Fantastic accomodation in a great location. - Everything about the property was perfect! We were told everything we needed to know in a timely manner. The property itself was lovely. My only suggestion would be to travel with smaller suitcases as the stairs are narrow but other than that it was perfect, thank you so much!
- Cynthia (7/5): Good - location to tube and bus stops, walking distance to great neighborhood restaurants, museums, shops! cozy living room, very comfortable beds! broken door handles kitchen cabinets, horrible smell in refrigerator
- Henry (9/5): A fantastic Stay, A true gem of a house! We will be going back. - Excellent Location to V&A, Hyde Park Corner, Harrods, Natural History Museum. Sainsburys and M&S are just a few minutes walk (literally 7mins). 15 minute walk to RHS Chelsea Flower. The property is Clean, light, airer, Very Comfortable beds, everything has been thought off from providing a hair drier to a fully equipped kitchen with adequate utensils, dishwasher, washing machine for you to be able to self cater. The house is located down a safe quiet street, Georgina texted and emailed details and was contactable the whole stay.We had a wonderful stay and will most definitely be going back. There was nothing we didn't like. The only thing I would possibly mention are the spiral stairs, they are narrow and steep to anyone not completely stable on their feet or with little ones. It didn't bother us as we have 2 teenagers and a 5yr old.
- Isa (8/5): Quirky house in a great location, great price, not for fussies! - For the reasonable price and the fantastic location (5' walk to South Kent tube, King's Road, many buses into central London, many restaurants and shops nearby, 2' walk to a playground), it would be unreasonable for me to nitpick. This is an old mews house, with a quirky steep spiral staircase connecting 3 small floors. My kids (youngest is 7) were fine with the stairs, but I'd say this is not for toddlers or the elderly. Beds were comfy (on the softer side which I liked), with 2 pillows per person (better than some hotels!), with clean sheets and towels provided. There is quite a lot of basic stuff leftover from other visitors (washing powder, soap, sugar, tea, coffee etc) in the cupboards, which was very convenient. The house is straightforward and easy to operate, no need any fancy instruction manuals. It has 3 double bedrooms, 4 bathrooms (4 WCs, 2 shower-over-baths, 1 shower), so more than sufficient for the 6 of us. Also a washing machine, clothes dryer and dishwasher. Icing on the cake is that Gina is super responsive and helpful! It's an old house, so this is not for Fussies! You can't expect to pay such a reasonable price for such an expensive area and get tip-top accommodation so manage your expectations accordingly, otherwise please be prepared to pay more than double the price to stay in the same area. Wear and tear is obvious through the house, and it could be a little cleaner (hairballs behind doors and on the carpeted staircase), and one bedroom window couldn't close the last 2 inches (which might be an issue in Winter). But overall, the positives far outweighed these little niggles.
- Michelle (6/5): Not as stylish as we expected from the photographs on the website - We were so close to South Kensington and our favourite museums. And the no14 bus is a 2mins walk from the property and goes all the way to Russell Square, via Piccadily Circus. Our first impression from outside was how dirty the door and windows were and the ugly bars at the front window, then when we went in, the first thing we saw was a huge bag of dirty bedding and towels, mop and buckets under the spiral staircase. There was also a cheap shelving unit by the door, piled high with uncollected mail. The whole property is needing decorated/painted and the kitchen needs replaced. There was only 1 plug for the 5 sinks and 2 baths in the property!!!!Nowhere in the property could we find any safety information or equipment (fire blanket or extinguisher) in the event of an emergency. The spiral staircase is far too narrow and steep and it is the only access between the three levels. There is very limited storage (no coat hangers supplied) in the bedrooms, and the hoovers, ironing board and highchair downstairs are kept by the dining table, as there is not a cupboard. There were ants in the kitchen. There are electric cables and faulty sockets in the main living area and 2nd floor bedroom. One of the toilets did not always flush. There is unsightly damp patches in the bathrooms and kitchen. The house is not soundproof and the street is very noisy through the night at the weekend (people and motorbikes). The photographs on the website are not all of the current interior decor.
- Sheinbein (8/5): The place was perfect for a family stay in London. - The apartment was exactly what we were hoping for. It was spacious enough to fit our family of five during our weeklong vacation in London. Its location could not have been better. Super convenient to public transportation. Also walking distance to museums, parks, eating and the like. Amenities were perfect for a lite breakfast, washing and sleeping. We would definitely stay here again. A trail of ants and poor noise insulation.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melody (10/5): Exceptional -
- Craigg1971 (8/5): Very good -
- Maciej (9/5): Superb -
- Miroslaw (8/5): Great location for visiting - I spent a few days at home for business purposes, but I also managed to do some sightseeing. The house is located in a great location. The Natural British, Victoria and Albert, Science Musem is a 10-minute walk away. 15-20 minutes to Hyde Park or Harrods.
Wifi worked great, it was also clean.
One of the rooms was warmer than the rest of the house, but it wasn't a problem for us, because one of my colleagues lived there who preferes to stay warm at night.
After the return I've had a bit of a problem with the invoice because booking.com doesn't provide it (they wrote to me to ask the host about it), so Gina, who manages the property, promised to send it to me. Problem with invoice, but it was misunderstanding with booking.com website, and the host. Luckily, we managed to sort it out thanks to the host.
- Brad (7/5): a good option for a family or group - convenient location. host was responsive whenever we had questions. safe neighborhood. multiple bedrooms and bathrooms spiral staircase was difficult to navigate with luggage.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - the location was great, nice quiet street & less than 10mins walk to tube station
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional -
