Guest Reviews
- Lia (9/5): Overall a great stay - The size of the house is great, good location, lots of lovely spaces and interesting furniture and ornaments. We didn’t receive the goodie hamper that we were supposed to, which would have been nice since it was my 50th birthday celebration. The host apologized upon checking out.
- Jen (10/5): - Gorgeous decor! Love how well presented the property is 😍 The house was perfect for our large family to make many lasting memories! We favoured the deck area
- Vicki (10/5): There were 6 adults. We all had so much privacy. The home is so very comfortable. We loved it. - I loved everything about this home. It has a warm and welcoming feel. Homley, relaxing. We couldn't have found a better place. There is nothing we didn't like. 😊
- Jenna (10/5): An inspiring place to reconnect — and surprisingly perfect for families - The Land of the Lost Treasure House is truly a one-of-a-kind stay. There is so much to see and explore throughout the house, and it’s perfectly suited for big groups or families coming together. The space feels inspiring, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed to encourage connection.
We were initially a little nervous about staying here with a young child, but those concerns disappeared almost immediately. Everything has been thoughtfully considered — including baby-friendly essentials — which made the stay incredibly easy and stress-free.
Although the property is located on a main road, we honestly didn’t notice it at all once inside. The gated patio area was a huge plus for peace of mind — fully enclosed, secure, and perfect for relaxing without worrying about little ones wandering. It truly felt like a safe, private retreat.
We stayed for two nights and felt there was still so much more to experience. We came here to reconnect, reset, and tick off a few things on our bucket list — and somehow left with an even longer list of reasons to return. .
- Emma (7/5): Great locations for large families and good bbq area and plenty of dining space. - Lots of space and great location. Plenty of bedrooms to cater for everyone and plenty of seating areas. The lawn was long so unusable for the children. The rooms were very hot even with fans . A few essentials were missing such as soap, enough forks, washing liquid but these were promptly provided when requested. Couldn’t find the coffee machine and there wasn’t a hamper but nice touch to have the wine.
- Cheryl (9/5): A large roomy, magical home, waiting for you to have your next adventure in! - We loved the roomy house, different entertainment area. Thoughtfully set out for young children - security gates etc. Supplied games to us. It was in a great location, central to what we wanted to see. Just needs a new seal on the fridge please.
- Emma (9/5): -
- Cathy (5/5): great location, nice views, comfortable - spacious, clean, comfortable, had a good bath for little people, had clove oil for the ants the dishwasher didn't drain properly, despite cleaning the drain filter. two burners on the bbq didn't work, there was a chair with a broken leg.
- Karen (9/5): - Loved the house, such a great space, great for a group. loved looking at all the trinkets. We used the items to do a treasure hunt with photos, so much fun! Location excellent. Dishwasher on its way out and could have done with some more kitchen basics like oven trays, alfoil and tea bags. But only minor things.
- Jill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (1/5): Bad -

- Lisa (9/5): Very enjoyable, will definitely be back - We loved all the quirky things to look at and the art work . It was very comfy and lots of different spaces in the house to explore and excape too. We are a disability support group and our young adults had a fantastic time. That the spar didn’t work
We found it hard to operate the stove
That was a little bit frustrating

- Angela (9/5): Superb -
- Deborah (8/5): Comfortable and lovely veiw - It was great, a lot of room to enjoy our self at different rooms in the house . Good location All the tv didn’t work we had set them up and they didn’t work .
- Marie (9/5): Superb -
- Carol (8/5): Very inviting and roomy property, gives you a feeling of comfort. - It was very roomy with a lovely lookout over the backyard. Beds were comfortable with good pillows. The downstairs bedrooms have insufficient window coverings and let in too much light. One blind had broken slats. Also the downstairs showers are a bit difficult to get in and out of.
- Nicolette (7/5): Great for large families - Great location and size of house for family group. Lots of spaces to hang out. Some rooms were musty.
- Pete (8/5): Very good -
- Geoff (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ewa (8/5): Very good -
- Douglas (10/5): The views were amazing. The beds were very comfortable. We wish we could’ve stayed longer. - The location was great and the house was very clean. The bottle of bubbly on arrival was a nice touch. The outdoor barbecue area was fabulous.
All in all, we all had a great time. Excellent for a large group of family. There was no secure parking, but apart from that fabulous Good Friday, and Saturday Sunday and Monday Good Friday Easter Thursday. Ask them today or something Saturday really on the trading hours down there it said it was closing at six
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant -
- Judith (9/5): Great place for family get together - It worked well for 3 families of 3 generations to share. Had room for a couple more family for Christmas lunch. Filtered water was slow when we had lots of water bottles to fill.
- Anonymous (9/5): Coming back - The social history and connections of interesting objects Nothing
- Catherine (9/5): Superb -
- Suzanne (8/5): Was very comfortable with good facilities and was great for the size of our party - Location was fine but was a short trip to get into Maleny . Able to organise courtesy bus for transport from the Maleny Hotel so worked ok
- Maureen (8/5): Very good -
- Timothy (1/5): Large building filled with eccletic pieces - Beware of damage accusations and additional costs - Eccletic items are interesting. All kitchen equipment needed is available. Engagement with owner was non-existent at check in or check out. The Owner charged my group additional costs without explanation before, 2 weeks later, asserting that damage had been caused to a chair. The damage was not caused by my group. Despite committments from the owner to return the money, weeks later, this has still not happened. No secure, on site parking available - must park on street. Location is on a main road, can be noisy. Accomodation is on the second story of a building with a cafe and bric-a-brac store on the first floor. The comings and going of its customers and the associated noise can be disturbing.
- Anonymous (8/5): Unusual but most enjoyable - Spacious and Quirky I
- Anchor (10/5): Debs 60th birthday bash - Lovely..peaceful... spacious...comfy😊
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shridhar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donna (8/5): excellent - so many areas to chill, great central kitchen smells of pets
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bernie (10/5): Perfect for friends get-together - Perfect for family or friends get-together! Lots of room, great catering facilities, very convenient location to the local villages, and the shops downstairs and french cafe across the road adds to the attractions. And a bottle of wine to welcome us, thank you. nothing significant at all. We were short a few items of cutlery for our group, but this was very very quickly resolved downstairs in the shop/reception. A little road noise early in the morning from construction trucks working across the road, but expect this will be very short term.
- Christine (10/5): we enjoyed spending time in this place. - plenty of room for everyone, either to be together or to be apart. nothing
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Juliette (10/5): Huge house, ecletric decor, everything you want & need. Super comfortable. - Huge house to accommodate many.
All the equipment & facilities you need plus more.
Beds super comfortable.
Plenty of space & relax areas.
Quirky & ecletric decor. Nothing.
- Barbara (9/5): A unique and wonderful place for a family weekend - The house was spacious with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. There were also many spaces to relax in small or larger groups. The kitchen was well equipped and the dinning space was great. The outdoor area was also very good. The house had a lot of character and was a wonderful place for our extended family weekend. The curtains and blinds were not very effective for blocking light and we were woken early by the daylight. There was a little bit of noise from the road. There were not enough teaspoons in the kitchen.
- Monica (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was not included There was no hair dryer although the guest book stated that there was both hair dryer and hair straightener.
- Sjsydney (8/5): Lovely location with nice views. - Lovely location in the hinterland, cows next door and views towards the Sunshine Coast from the balcony. Spacious property with more than enough beds for us. Walk across the road to a lovely French cafe. The house was cluttered, probably a function of having a shop downstairs that sold all sorts of stuff. It must make it harder to keep a place of this size tidy and clean.
Too many scented sticks for our liking - we moved them out to the balcony.
- Scott (9/5): This was my 5th stay here. The hosts are always lovely and we enjoy the peace and quiet. - Location is awesome and the hosts are fantastic. Love the eclectic setup and the shops downstairs.
- Sandra (9/5): Superb - The eclectic decor and the many spaces to spread out in groups or to take a break.
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Janina (7/5): Really good - The spaciousness - and variety of separate spaces The sheets need to be replaced - they are far too thin
- Aquilina (9/5): Fantastic place and so quirky. Big enough for us all to set up our sewing machines. Great location. - Just the slowness of the Cooktop and oven for heating dishes. Also some instructions on how to use and play DVDs through the TV. Batteries in xbox controller were flat and door wasn't opening.
