Guest Reviews
- Joanne (9/5): We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Kyoomba, would definitely recommend to friends and family. - Very spacious, plenty of room for everyone. Great outdoor entertaining area. Internal stairs need to be baby- proofed (railings at bottom of stairs plus a baby gate). It’s advertised as family friendly but we had an 18mth old that needed close supervision around the stairs.
There is air con in the kitchen/dining area but not upstairs or in the loft and these areas were stifling in the heat as they also had no ceiling fans.
Just some little things that would really make a big difference:
More tea towels - we had one for three days. More dishwashing tablets, only four of these for three days. There are notices everywhere about conserving tank water yet handwashing dishes uses far more water than a dishwasher cycle.
Be a bit more generous with the coffee pods. I was told there was a coffee machine and that pods would be provided but there were only four pods available.
- Leanne (9/5): Overall we really enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to visit again. - The floor plan with 2 family areas to spread out and that there were enough glasses and crockery for a large number which doesn’t always happen at some places. We liked that there were animals near by. We felt like the property had a great country vibe which is what we were looking forward. We thought that some areas could do with some aircon and the kitchen had a nice country feel but was a bit dated.
- Rosemary (9/5): Fantastic stay in a beautiful clean well kept country home. - The homestead was perfect for 8 adults (could take 10) and our 4 dogs. The grounds are well cared for and the country outlook is fantastic. The stairs were a bit challenging for some of our party.
- Hutchison (10/5): - The Sugarloaf Homestead was so beautiful, we had the best weekend and we will defeintly be back!! Thank you
- Portia (10/5): It was everything we needed for our weekend away and we had the best time. - Coziness, proximity to town, farm life and able to fit our bigger group of 9 No faults
- Natalie (10/5): Comfortable and well equipped rural property close to Stanthorpe - What a fabulous house to stay at near Stanthorpe. The kitchen was really well equipped and the house was very comfortable. It was very spacious for 3 couples travelling together- one thing to note is the upstairs bathroom is an ensuite within one of the 3 bedrooms upstairs. It was wonderful being fully fenced when travelling with a dog and such a beautiful rural outlook. Check in instructions were clear and house was clean. We loved the fireplace and supplied firewood. Thanks for a great stay!
- Katie (10/5): Perfect Winter Escape - Perfect Winter escape
- Jembi88 (10/5): - We had a fantastic stay. The house was well equipped with everything we might have needed for our family trip, including kids toys that kept our toddler occupied for ages. The beds were comfy and the fireplace was a godsend on the cool winter evenings.
The location is beautiful, close enough to town to do anything you are visiting for, but secluded enough that you have peace and calm.
We hope that Carnell Raceway is reopened so our full group can attend next visit, it was disappointing that The Big Chill got cancelled so our whole group was not travelling, we would definitely book again!
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Great property for family trip
- Rachael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracy (9/5): Superb - Great location and a beautiful night by the fire pit under a starry sky.
- Karina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (8/5): Had a wonderful time, great location, beautiful house and very accommodating. - I loved the space and location. Shower was cold.
- Sue (7/5): Nice big house but mattresses not great - Great big house with nice fireplace when it was pretty chilly. Outdoor firepit was great even when cold. Lots of firewood which helped. Lots of useful items in kitchen which helped when cooking for 10 :) The mattresses were not great. All 5 couples found the beds squeaky when turning over and mattresses not very good. Our only negative for the property.
- Tracey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jocelyn (10/5): Fantastic place to stay - Great location with everything you need for an enjoyable stay The stairs are a bit steep
- Lynette (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable for a large group. Beds were comfortable and showers hot. Large lounge room and we made great use of the wood fire
- Gladys (9/5): Superb and cosy love the generous supply of firewood! - Cutest cottage , highly recommend to all ! Couldn’t fault it really. I suppose if we didn’t have to take out our own trash to the town centre that would have made the experience 10 of 10! It’s a truly lovely experience overall!
