Guest Reviews
- Stephen (8/5): Comfortable - Nice quiet location It met our needs
- Sarah (7/5): Peaceful escape. - Very spacious. Beautiful view No shop nearby and no kitchen basics provided. We have stayed in many houses across Australia and there is often olive oil, spices, flour in the pantry which makes cooking easier.
Ugly garden
- Matthew (7/5): -
- John (4/5): Overall, we enjoyed it. the grey gravel around the site is not very appealing! - Kitchen facilities good as well as location My wife had enormous difficulties in using the stairs. She has mobility issues but suggest that installing stair rails would solve the problem. Also, we found a live mouse upstairs - later on we found a dead mouse behind the rubbish bins. the pillow covers on the downstairs double bedroom were stained.
- Arthur (10/5): -
- Hooman (10/5): Fantastic, memorable and relaxing - Absolutely everything
clean, tidy, convenient, Nothing really
- Felix (10/5): - Perfect location, quiet and clean rooms, fully equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom, fast internet, and excellent attention to detail. The bathrooms lack small trash cans, the kitchen has no cooking oil, the driveway gate is not electric and must be manually opened and closed each time, and due to local water scarcity, large water tanks are used, resulting in strict control over shower time.
- Deborah (8/5): -
- Anna (9/5): Beautiful location, great deck for socializing. Well appointed house. - Great location in Emu Bay…easy walk to beach
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Dot (10/5): - 4 older friends all had a bedroom each and the 2 bathrooms were good with comfortable beds . Excellent location and a resident koala and her baby added to the ambiance along with the sounds of penguins at night Beautiful quiet scenic location We all had a wonderful break Only downside were the steep stairs to the main area felt another rail on the other wall might have been helpful The steps outside too probably would benefit from a rail on one side But all in all an excellent get away
- Kristi (10/5): Beautiful location and home - We loved the neighborhood and the view. We had koalas in the trees and a kangaroo in the street. The property was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen and laundry were great for making a long holiday easier. The nearby beach was fantastic to walk in the evening. The recycling process is confusing. We did our best, but we are just unfamiliar with the process.
- Jodie (9/5): - Fantastic location , stunning view of the bay
- Nola (7/5): Great quiet location but felt overwhelmed with "guest" instructions - Location was excellent. Light/heater in shower/toilet not working. 1 bath towel each for 5 days. Oven not clean food scraps in bottom of oven and oven needed cleaning. Instructions left there advising Guests it is their responsibility to put bins out for council collection .. outside bins overflowing with cardboard when we arrived .. it is not a guests responsibility to put rubbish bins out on nature strip only to empty inside bins before leaving.
- Tracy (10/5): We had a great time driving around the island . We saw the penguins,Flinders Chase Park is amazing. - It has everything we needed. Lots of space and the view was amazing.
- Georgia (10/5): Amazing stay at Emu Bay, we wish could have stayed longer.we will be recommending this property to everyone! - An amazing holiday house that we absolutely loved staying at. Emu bay was so lovely for our kids and such a great spot. We will be back! Nothing that we didn’t like but it may be worth considering:
- both dvd machines weren’t working (or atleast we couldn’t make either work)
- it wouldn’t hurt to have a coffee pod machine available for guests to use, they’re inexpensive and make much better coffee than instant!
- it would be amazing to have a few local KI goodies for guests like maybe locally made toiletries, small goods like KI olives or even a small bottle of KI wine, it’s so expensive to get to KI and there is so much great local produce that could be championed and make the guest feel a little bit special. Seems a missed opportunity not to feature something local and add that extra touch for guests.
- Debbie (10/5): - Beautiful accommodation. It is super clean and has everything you need. The kitchen is well equiped. There are lots of games & books. The views are fantastic and location is awesome. Koalas in the trees and penguins at night just down the hill. Absolutely loved this place. There was nothing that we didn't like.
- Thompson (7/5): - Location, size wifi Mattresses, beds were quite uncomfortable and bedding is heavy
- Gear (10/5): Just beautiful. KI is just such a beautiful place! - Beautiful views, kitchen well stocked and everything we needed was there. We ran out of toilet paper! 😂 could have done with another roll!
- Michele (9/5): Excellent place to stay - Comfortable, felt "like home", fabulous views. BBQ might have been better (and more sociable) if it was on the upstairs balcony, clothes washing powder box empty, no soap downstairs.
- Nick (9/5): Lovely house with water view. - This is a lovely location and the view of the bay from the verandah is fantastic. The house and bathrooms are spacious. Kitchen was well equipped and BBQ was great. Some salt, pepper, oil, gladwrap and foil available for use. Washing machine and large clothes rack available. Plenty of local info provided by property manager. This is not a complaint, just personal observations so people can plan. The main bed is very firm. Bed in 2nd bedroom a bit softer. There are no cafes in Emu Bay, you need to take everything. Whilst there is a coffee plunger there is no coffee pod machine. We had pods, but needed to go buy ground coffee. A lamp in the main living room would be nice at night as overhead lights bright. There was tissues and hand soap, but no body wash, shampoo etc in bathroom.
- Kaye (2/5): Manager was unresponsive to requests re lack of cleanliness and smell of curry - Location Pungent curry smell spoilt our stay
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (7/5): Peaceful, comfortable retreat in Emu Bay. - The view of the bay and coastline from the house is beautiful and the sunny, sheltered deck is a great place to relax. Emu Bay is small and peaceful with friendly locals, including resident koalas wallabies and pelicans. The coffee wagon and kids playground by the beach. The house is well equipped and comfortable. Especially good for groups or families with older kids. The laundry is a bonus. Parking is convenient. The information provided about the area facilities was helpful. The stairs are steep. Not a suitable option for anyone with mobility issues.
Basic essentials like soap products in the bathrooms, more clean towels and washers, olive oil and basic spices in the kitchen, would be appreciated.
- Jan (10/5): Canadians in K.i. - The bed was a little uncomfortable, but other than tgat it was perfect.
- Frieda (9/5): Superb -
- Anne (9/5): We loved every minute, especially the view!! - The view!!
Very well equipped.
Spotlessly clean
Well maintained
Easy check in
Privacy For us the bed was a little small and uncomfortable but that is totally subjective.
- Vedant (7/5): Charged much enough money and in return not fair service provided in the house - We like view There were no air conditioner downstairs even whole house had only one upstairs so for big group it is definitely not suitable because it was too hot and one Air conditioner is not enough for whole two story house also there no shower gel and no shampoo and etc for bathroom which is quiet disappointing as well
- Catriona (10/5): Exceptional - Superb views, just a short walk to the pier & beach. The accommodation felt homely & was well equipped throughout.
It was an ideal base to be able to explore the island from then come back to relax in comfort.
- John (8/5): Enjoyed it but modest money would make it so much better. - Lovely quiet position with kangaroos about at dusk and dawn Facilities poor; TV far too small; no coffee machine yet no cafe within 15 minutes.View spoiled by garage and water tanks in back yard ( over which you had to look to have sea view).
- Nigel (10/5): A beautiful house in a beautiful bay on a beautiful island - Fabulous view, great wildlife, excellent facilities Stairs were awkward for cases.
- David (9/5): Perfect base for visiting Emu Bay and Stokes Bay.close to Kingscote - Spotlessly clean, well appointed and spectacular view off a beautiful deck. It was an exceptionally hot day and the AC unit on the main floor did not adequately cool the bottom floor as there were no ceiling fans there
- Michelle (10/5): Fabulous views, very comfortable. - The view was fabulous, everything we needed was at our finger tips in the kitchen :)
- Syed (9/5): Superb -
- Kacey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (9/5): Beautiful well furnished and equipped house. Would definitely stay there again. - Beautiful house very close to the beach.
Comfortable and spacious with well equipped kitchen.
We would definitely stay there again.
There were Koalas in the backyard and at night we saw penguins on the beach!! For this place to score a 10, it would have been nice to have shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms.
Also, was not happy about having to wheel the garbage/recycling bins to the front on garbage days. I would have expected the cleaners to do that.
They could benefit from a new cleaning service as under the beds and on top of the range hood was dusty.
- Nenad (10/5): Amazing place KI Emu Bay - Beautiful view of the ocean every morning
So relaxing All good
- Anna (8/5): We had very enjoyable time - The house was specious The bedrooms were dusty
- Deborah (9/5): Very relaxing would return - Spacious and very well set up for a relaxing holiday.
The kitchen was well resourced for cooking
Close to Kingscote for groceries but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing Minor detail- the towels were non absorbent and not fluffy but a quick wash and air dry solved the problem- not sure what the commercial laundry uses to launder but it appeared they were washed with too much fabric softener as this affects absorption and fluid feeling.
But a minor issue
- Jim (9/5): Superb -
- Sarita (8/5): Apart from mosquitoes at night/unable to sleep, everything was good - Like the view, location Mosquitoes
- Connie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful quiet area fabulous views. Handy location for shops and for getting to other areas of the island. Lovely home. Highly recommend.
- Bronwyn (10/5): The house was spacious and comfortable with everything we needed - The location and views were great Nothing to not like
- Karen (9/5): Peaceful - Quiet location
- Payne (10/5): Lovely house well stocked with kitchen utensils etc. big enough didn’t feel cramped. Love the beach and views - Place was lovely and clean. Plenty of room as there was only four of us but two sleep separate so one couple had downstairs other had upstairs worked perfect.
- Jude (10/5): A spacious home with incredible views that has everything that you could need! Def 5* - It was spacious with a beautiful view. Nothing
- Louise (8/5): Very good -
- Tp24 (10/5): Beautiful 4 night stay in Emu Bay - Love the view, comfortable bed, nice and quiet, sunny mornings on the deck, great kitchen. It was great for us as we like to be self-sufficient, so the relative distance from everything wasn't a problem.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Jayne (8/5): Very good -
- Taust (8/5): Location and view in sizable house. - Good view over garage and other houses to beautiful bay. The house itself was very sizable and well equipped with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 up and 1 down) washing machine, bbq, big balcony, washing machine, line for drying and plenty of off street parking. Emu bay is an excellent location, but shops about 15 minutes away. Communication from hosting agents was one way with information about local activities, but no answers to my messages asking for further information about the house.
The house was generally clean, but fan, behind beds and main bathroom floor needed work. We had to clean the fan in the main living area before we turned it on.
Noise from bathrooms travels through thin walls.
- Heather (8/5): Fantastic time with family at a gorgeous beach - A very comfortable house with a fantastic view. The stairs are very steep and hard for elderly to see the edge of the steps
- Jingxi (9/5): Superb -
- Rachael (10/5): Completely idyllic - Beautiful view in a perfect location Nothing!
- James (9/5): Great views and a lovely property - Great location with fantastic views. Very comfortable upstairs area with big veranda looking out over Emu Bay. Nice isolated and peaceful location still within an easy drive to Kingscote and the amenities you need. Very well presented and an excellent array of crockery, cutlery and pans etc. No real negatives. The property was pretty much what we hoped for.
- Joanne (10/5): Fabulous relaxing holiday - The house and location were fabulous. Central location so we were able to visit everywhere we had planned to visit. Leaving to go home.... It was so relaxing and quiet, just what we needed.
- Neil (9/5): Excellent and would recommend to friends. - Good location and the house was equipped with everything you needed. The view was amazing. The bed in the main room was very low and a bit hard.
- Mike (7/5): It was good, plenty of room for all of us and good facilities - Location good, no meals provided The door handle on the downstairs bathroom needs to be fixed. The instructions for the key box could be clearer (it took me a while to work out that it has a little sliding cover over the keypad). Also, some incorrect assumptions were made about our group (based on where the 6 towels were laid out). It was assumed we were 3 couples, but we were actually two couple and two singles (brother and sister)... no great harm done, once we worked it out and that everyone did actually have a towel!
- Nick (9/5): Superb Emu Bay - Stunning view of Emu Bay and long white beach.
Kitchen and equipment very well stocked.
Wildlife friendly - koalas and echidnas seen regularly very nearby. Quiet apart from the evening penguin chorus which is a bonus. Very few street lights so night sky stars amazing. Nothing but would recommend visitors bring an infra-red torch (NOT a white light) for viewing penguins with minimal impact or disturbance at night.
- Amy (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (8/5): Excellent stay and really enjoyed Annie’s! - Situated in beautiful Emu Bay with sea view. 2bathrooms a bonus with group. Barbecue for cooking. Ceiling fans very dusty, light over mirror in upstairs bathroom needs to be brighter!
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marco (8/5): Very good - If two families, one has to stay below. No that much awesome view... Better photos would better explain this for group higher than 4 people.
- Matk (10/5): Absolutely perfect and peaceful - Brilliant It was perfect
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - The view The stairs it needs a rail and people should be aware that the stairs are very steep
- Gianna (10/5): Peaceful and was food for my soul - It was clean and beautifully maintained and presented in a peaceful location
- Helen (10/5): Stunning location, spacious accommodation, central to destinations and great fishing - This was a beautiful location, house was extremely well equipped and clean with plenty of room for a group nothing
- Mark (8/5): Like a home. Lots of pots, pans, storage, etc. catering for an extended visit perfectly. - Loved the living area. Would be perfect for larger groups of guests. Great tv reception, internet available as well. Outdoor area great, large and plenty of seating. Kitchen and appliances clean.
Bathrooms clean, good laundry facilities
The view was lovely, spotted a pod of dolphins. As we like to leave the property in a clean state, we stripped the bed of linen. Found the mattress protector to have several stains that appeared to have not been laundered from previous guests. My question now is. Is all the bed linen changed in between guests?
- Katie (10/5): we enjoyed the house only a few small issues like lamp needed a globe, clock & tv remote neede batteries - the property was clean & had everything we needed the TV down the bottom only had SBS channels & no air conditioning
- Kemuel (10/5): Exceptional - Great location with amazing views and great property for friends and family to sleep and entertain.
- Radu (10/5): Very nice... - The house was very clean and tidy.
Everything was working as expected.
Very nice location with amazing views. Nothing to mention.
- Primo (9/5): Superb -
- Melissa (9/5): Superb - spacious and clean with beautiful views! It was difficult to get into the property initially- so many repeat emails were sent to me prior to my stay and the code I was sent was incorrect which caused a few issues - particularly difficult as there was no wifi so we couldn’t contact anyone.
- Andres (10/5): beautiful - because of the view and the facilities
- Deborah (9/5): 4 nights stay, good location to visit Emu Bay - - The location of the property is great, just walking distance to the beach and pier. If you would like to join the tour for swimming with dolphins, that will be super convenient, since the tour will departure from the Emu Bay pier. And Emu Bay Beach is great to chill out for a whole late afternoon.
- The communication with with property manager is very easy, she also offer the discount for booking the Sealink tickets.
- The water temperature for taking show is perfect, easy to adjust.
- Kitchen is well equipped and enough chairs for a big group of people. The sofa and arm chairs in the big living room are very comfy.
- 4 bedrooms + 2 single beds in the downstairs living room could accommodate a large group of people. - 2 bathrooms are not quite enough for a large group, need to queue to use the toilets.
- there is only a washer, that will be better if there could be a dryer
- we found a big cockroach and a spider in the living room downstairs
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (9/5): A great place to stay with most things you would require on a short break - It was a pleasure to share this family's holiday home. The views were great and it was a lovely quiet location. The stairs were an issue to us older people and also no dryer only a washing machine. The big trees in the front neighbours house spoiled the full on view. The BBQ being downstairs.....may have been better suited upstairs.
- Liz (10/5): We loved every bit of it. - Excellent layout & facilities
Great views & location
Easy check in / check out Everything was spot on.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Varnell (10/5): Stunning, perfect family quiet getaway - The contact with the property management was fantastic. Great location, so much bigger than we expected and a wonderful view of the bay.
Having the kids downstairs was fun for them and us! There wasnt really anything we sidnt like
The master bed was a little firm for us, but that's our personal preference and with so much space we moved to one of the other bedrooms.
