• Julia (1/5): Unacceptable cleanliness and hygiene issues, very disappointing experience and lost money - Initial communication from the host and the view. I rarely leave negative reviews unless I feel it is absolutely necessary and unfortunately on this occasion, I feel it is imperative to warn other travellers. We booked the 'luxury home' based on previous reviews (I wish I had read some of the more negative reviews as they are exactly what we experienced). Upon arrival the host was initially helpful and showed us around. However, once inside it became clear the apartment had not been cleaned well - weeks' worth of dust, food debris in drawers, stains in the kitchen and bins (old food and stains). We found old food under the sofa cushions and mouldy food in the microwave (see photos). Fridge and freezer were dirty, hair in the bathroom, unsanitary toilet brush, bathroom heater not working, dirty kettle and most of the fixtures and fittings appeared old and worn out. We raised the issue and the host said he would arrange cleaning 'free of charge' the next day. However, after one night (we slept in our clothes), we felt so uncomfortable and we couldn't stay any longer. We very kindly asked the host for a refund and that is when all communication stopped. The booking was then marked by the host as a 'No Show' despite us having stayed there one night and we have supportive evidence of our stay. We had to find alternative arrangements and are now out of pocket by a significant amount of money. I also see 2 new 9/10 reviews in March which is impossible as the reviews were for 7 nights each and overlapping in dates.. I would hope Booking.com will look into these reviews to ensure they are accurate. Beware! Thankfully our bank is processing a chargeback - I think the photos speak for themselves

• M (9/5): Schitterende locatie. - De locatie was rustig en je had veel privacy. De ligging t.o.v. het centrum. Je kunt lopend over de boulevard, langs het strand naar het centrum. Wij houden van wandelen. De eigenaar ontvangt je heel gastvrij en geeft veel tips en een goede uitleg. Ook is hij goed bereikbaar. Het prachtige uitzicht op het grote comfortabele dakterras. De bussen die heel vaak rijden naar het centrum en weinig geld kosten. De stijle klim lopend naar boven naar het appartement. Wij hadden geen auto gehuurd en deden veel lopend.

• H (9/5): Prettig appartement op goede locatie - Het appartement heeft een fantastisch terras, ruim en een mooi uitzicht. De omgeving is rustig. Door het mooie weer zijn wij veel buiten geweest, het appartement zelf is keurig ingericht, maar wij vonden het wat sfeerloos met weinig daglicht.

El chico que nos hizo el check in también fue muy agradable Estaba sucio, tanto la cocina como el baño (el WC es negro y no lo habían limpiado bien cuando llegamos…). Además, no tenía casi menaje: tenedores, vasos y platos contados por huésped, y sólo un cuchillo decente…

Everything was really clean and we had everything we could need even makeup wipes provided. Balcony is huge and the view is amazing. Communication with the host worked really well and he even kept our luggage on the first day when we arrived early and also last day until the evening. He was happy and funny and told us all good places to go It’s on the hilltop so there was some walking to beach and restaurant. View is amazing so we didn’t mind that

• Dympna (9/5): Fabulous sea view from the terrace in a quiet neighbourhood. - Lovely apartment in a quiet neighbourhood and a fantastic terrace with comfortable furniture and an outdoor fridge, which was stocked with local beer and water - a nice touch in such warm weather. Our host Francisco was very welcoming on arrival and gave us lots of information about the area. He also brought us to the supermarket to get groceries, which was very helpful as the property is up a steep hill. The shower was great and the kitchen was well equipped. It was only 10 minutes walk to the promenade - lovely to stroll along and 15 minutes to the nearest restaurant. There was a great selection of bars and restaurants - most of them facing the sea. The buses into Malaga were very frequent and cheap and only took 20 minutes to Malaga Old Town. The steep hill to the property. We got a taxi back to the apartment each day which was an added cost but taxis were easy to order via apps. The terrace is upstairs - separate to the apartment but still private. However, the terrace was magnificent, so we can't fault that. Mosquitoes were a problem, but not within the owners control.
• Diaa (7/5): Very good view but .. - Francisco (the host) was very helpful and friendly. The view is really gorgeous. The neighborhood is very quiet. The kitchen facilities were okay. The place is on top of a hill which is very challenging to reach without a car. As I have been with a kid I needed to take a taxi everyday whenever I was heading to the house. (It adds implicitly to your costs) The last two days there was a very unpleasant smell (sewage) coming from the kitchen and it was very uncomfortable to withstand it. I informed Francisco and he was very responsive and tried to fix it with all his best, which was really appreciated, but unfortunately it didn't work despite his best efforts.

• Jay (10/5): A little paradise - One the best vacation experiences of my life! The owner of the apartment is an impressive person, always available for any kind of help. The apartment was very comfortable, big and peaceful. The view from its own private terrace is to die for! Beautiful neighbourhood. There is a parc just a few meters away to go for a run, down the hill there are plenty of restaurants and chiringuitos to choose from. I will definitely go back to stay there. Thank you Francisco for everything!

• Julius (10/5): Would recommend! - The view from the terrace and the terrace itself was amazing, it also had a small fridge if we didn't feel like leaving the sunny terrace for a refreshment. The kitchen was also perfectly equipped, the bathroom was stylish, overall perfectly enjoyable as a couple. The owner was very kind, helpful and provided us with tips to make our vacation even more enjoyable.

• Una (8/5): Our host Francisco was waiting for us at the property. He was very welcoming . - The private balcony had amazing sea views, with comfortable seating and sun shade. The silence was also wonderful. And the still stary nights were enthralling. Francisco's wealth of local knowledge, bus numbers for different locations and helpful tips was a great advantage to us. He is a wonderful host Anyone with even slight mobility issuse should be aware that there is an extremely steep winding road you must use to get to the bus stop
• Anita (7/5): Fine for a couple of days. - The balcony was lovely with great views. Nice to have your own place to chill out. Netflix was a great addition to. Up an incredibly steep hill. Parking outside was fine though. The property needed a thorough deep clean and kitchen needs side plates and bowls and more than 3 of anything. The bed was a foam mattress so we rolled together at night. However I messaged Francisco and he delivered a single bed to the Lounge which solved that problem. He couldn’t be more helpful.
• Nancy (10/5): A little piece of paradise! - Do yourself a favour and stay here as many days as you can! Francisco was very kind, and helped us get groceries the day we arrived, as we didn't have a car. The apartment was very nice and comfortable, with some clever design details. Lovely view from the large window. But the crowning glory was the large private terrace, one floor up, overlooking the quiet neighbourhood and the sea. There is enough seating, and enough plants, that depending on the weather you can choose to sit in the sun or the shade. Although it's a safe, quiet area, once you go down the hill it's only a ten-minute bus ride to the center of Malaga. Yes, the dog across the street annoyed us once, but we found it only really barks at the time when everyone is out walking their dog in the evening. We loved the place, but anybody with mobility issues should be aware the apartment is one flight up, and the terrace another flight above that. And there's quite a hill to climb to get there! Otherwise, if anything wasn't perfect - it wasn't important!

All only 10 minutes away. Many restaurants as you headed south 1 mile. The hill to apartment was steep only if walking.The dog across from apartment would bark early morning and evening.that was so annoying for a relaxing break.

The property was close to seafront but down a very steep hill. I would not recommend this property for anyone with poor mobility. The kitchen was too small to do any cooking and not very well equipped or maintained. The black paintwork makes the property look shabby and dated.

Change over very easy and Francesco kindly let us leave our bags for early check in.Apartment clean and very quiet at night. A bit of a climb from seafront, if you’re not used to walking in the heat. Might be better with a car. Not a lot of kitchen equipment, just enough to make breakfast or snack. We had to catch bus into old town from seafront to find variety of shops and restaurants. Local supermarket probably 30-40min round trip to walk. Shame about constantly barking dogs in the day but not really the fault of holiday let.

• Katerina (4/5): Property needs deep cleaning and better maintenance. - Nice, quiet area on the hill overlooking the city, although bit further from the centre. Size of the flat was good. Easy check in procedure and clear communication with the host. Nice view from the terrace - terrace is spacious and has a large seating area. Lack of cleanliness was definitely the biggest issue. I am not sure if the host checks the property before arrivals, but property was not clean at all. Another disappointment was that the terrace was not direct part of the flat but was on the top floor (one floor above the flat), which was not apparent from the description when we have booked the property. The main reason we have booked this property was to have our own terrace in the flat. Kitchen did not have many items, overall the flat need proper cleaning and more maintenance, furniture, especially sofa was worn out. Unfortunately, this property was a more expensive than the other properties we have stayed in Spain, but was the lowest quality, hence the rating. :(

The apartment was in a very nice area and had a great terrace with sea views and within a few minutes walk to the beach and shops. Francisco was very helpful and available if needed, however we had no issues.
