Guest Reviews
- ELIZABETH (9/5): Ideal for a stay in Strahan. - Location, cottage set-up, decor and personal touches. Hosts Kellie and Kerry were perfect - friendly and helpful
The cottage was exactly what we wanted. Maybe a slightly larger container for microwaving, that would be only request for next visit.
- Jo (10/5): It was a lovely experience staying in this beautiful old cottage. Very comfortable and clean! - The hosts were extremely helpful and the cottage was incredibly clean. We loved everything about the property.
- Kym (10/5): - Tasteful period furnishings. Personal welcoming. Clean and welcoming That we only stayed 2 nights
- Kynan (10/5): - Such a lovely greeting by the host Kellie a really gorgeous cottage and garden it was a privilege to be able to stay in this charming old world accommodation thankyou Kellie and Kerry
- Gayle (9/5): Terrific property in a great location. I would book again if ever I go to Strahan - I loved how the old church was furnished, suited the house, it was lovely and warm (because Kelly told us to leave it on) clean, excellent water pressure and comfortable bed and pillows.
- cb775468647871c9eae9a1b47c6743bf (10/5): We enjoyed our time in Strahan, Kerry and Kellie were excellent hosts. - We stayed in the Sir John cottage and it was simply beautiful. The bed was a real treat, the whole cottage was lovely and we were warm and comfortable. The location was excellent, loved crossing the very quiet road to go to the IGA. Nothing.

- 5b6a1ad063f0729db7964e9a1cf1a5ee (8/5): - The history of the building. The cuteness of the building.
The little special things. Robe, Toiletries. Handmade curtains and paintings. Location. A little pricey in comparison to other accommodation.

- Kim (10/5): -
- Mark (8/5): Enjoyable short stay, met all our requirements - Proximity to the Esplenade Inability to sample the whiskey
- Neil (9/5): A very interesting property, loved the entry and bench seat. Different! - Location was excellent and a short stroll down to the wharf for Gordon River cruise the next morning. The pictures on the ad show clearly that the accommodation was an old little church. It was quirky, something totally different. The huge bed was very comfortable. A couple of things to note for others - (1) the shower is over a spa tub in a large bathroom, and (2) the bedroom is upstairs, so need to use stairs to get to the bathroom. It was a big dark inside. but the owners have included a lot of extras for visitor's comfort which

- Dorothy (10/5): A lovely surprise. Very interesting town with great tours of the harbour. -
- Sangster (10/5): - The personal service, greeting us not long after arrival with hints on local places to eat at and all we needed to know about our accommodation. Previsit info about local experiences, convenient location close to IGA and the town centre. Nothing
- Oakes (10/5): 5⭐️ - AMAZING!! Magical, charming old church. Beautifully restored by Kerry and Kellie. Nothing has been overlooked. Great location. Sensational ambience. King size bed - super comfortable. Chesterfield lounge - super comfortable. And there is a washing machine and dryer. Absolutely nothing. My only regret was, I couldn’t stay longer.
- Jim (10/5): Highly recommend - A lovely old cottage in a great location. Very comfortable and very quiet. Across the road from the IGA and a few minutes walk to the harbour front. Kerry and Kellie were great hosts, very welcoming and provided useful local information.
- Michele (10/5): Perfect down to the last port. - The cottage was amazing and felt like we had stepped back in time, while all the way having modern facilities. Loved sitting on the deck of a night and watching the world go by. Walking distance to town and tourist attractions. There was nothing we did not like, it is an amazing venue with so many bonuses. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Very roomy and comfortable and the complimentary port was very much appreciated at the end of the day!!! Nothing . Everything was great!

Excellent, all the furniture is antique except the mattress, which was very comfortable.

Would highly recommend the church for a couple
- David (10/5): The cottage was delightful - The character of the cottage No wifi
- Jacintha (8/5): An absolutely delightful stay and great surprise ! Well thought out and everything for comfort - Beautiful renovated church. All conveniences played attention to.. ( from gowns to blankets on chairs and port )
good ‘notes’ attached for convenience
Ideally located Was hard to find property because there was no sign on the specific building …saying this was unit ?
No wifi
Stove looked like it hadn’t been used in ages and extractor was dusty

- David (10/5): Great stay in a colonial cottage in a handy location - Old colonial cottage with everything you need for a short stay. Great location - the IGA is nearby and it's a short walk down to the harbour for the Gordon River cruise etc, pub, fish & chips, etc. If the sun shines you can eat breakfast on the bedroom balcony and dinner on the porch.
- Keian (10/5): -
- Geoffrey (8/5): - Great location in the centre of town. Really nicely restored old cottage with lots of character.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Lovely - Beautifully appointed 1890’s era house.
Excellent beds and great linen.

- Judy (9/5): We loved this property, it's location was fantastic. - This property was very comfortable, with loads of old world charm. The wood fire was a winner. Nothing
- Karen (8/5): Quant cottage in the heart of Strahan - The cottage is very quaint, in an excellent position right across the supermarket and a 5 minute walk to the esplanade. There was a lovely little garden where you could sit out in the evening. We went on the boat cruise and attended the play - both were excellent and highly recommended. Not a big problem but there is only a very small basic oven so it’s hard to cook a full meal. No WIFI.
- Kelly (9/5): - Great hosts. The cottage was in a lovely position, across the road from a small supermarket and up the hill from the main town. Nice and close to the pier where the Gordon River boat tour leaves from and an easy walk. It is uphill back to the cottage, so just keep that in mind if you have any walking issues. Very authentic, rustic cottage that felt just right.
- Sally (10/5): - Beautiful cottage
Spectacular scenery in Strathan
Great hosts
- Joseph (10/5): The property was as illustrated on the website and its location complemented our requirements. - Conveniently located a short walk from the centre of the town and across the road from the supermarket.
Cosy layout and tastefully decorated, with high ceilings; along with every conceivable appliance, the washing machine was a welcome bonus. No dislikes
- Alejandra (10/5): We’ll come back - We enjoyed every moment of our stay at Kerrellie. It felt like living in the 1800s, but with all the comforts of the modern world, including a jacuzzi. Despite the rain in Strahan, we played chess and warmed ourselves by the wood fire. We loved it!
- Anna (8/5): Best pet friendly accommodation in Strahan - Second time staying here. Great pet friendly accommodation. The attention to detail is great and the comfort with robes and good quality towels is very welcome
Although we didn’t need it having a washing machine and drier is always a bonus when travelling
- Lindsey (10/5): Great for a few days stay in Strahan. An easy walk to the boats and Hogarth Falls - Lovely historical cottage close to everything in Strahan. We were cozy and comfortable. Loved that it was dog friendly
- James (9/5): Lovely place to stay very close walk to the. Cruise departure. - Lovely place, great furniture, nice bed. Not best appointed lichen, but functional

Very friendly, welcoming & responsive owners. Thanks for a great stay There was nothing we didn’t like - just a suggestion that more than 2 pieces of crockery/cutlery would be good (sometimes need more for one meal)
- Raymond (9/5): Recommend to all travelers! - Clean and comfortable
- Birgitta (9/5): Nice little cottage - The electric blanket
- GEOFFREY (10/5): -
- Yvette (10/5): Stunning church conversion - This is the most converted church. Beautifully renovated, gorgeous period furniture. There is nothing really to fault. My only slight negative was the pillows were too big for me, but that's personal preference
- Tracey (10/5): -
- Barbara (10/5): -
- Anna (8/5): Cosy comfortable cottage in great location. - Charming well equipped old cottage with full amenities and friendly hosts. Spacious and great location. Red doilies, I put them away in the drawer 😅

- Annette (9/5): You could not get a better host went above & beyond to welcome us - Cozy clean easy walking to town All good
- Candice (10/5): Beautiful Strahan stay - Nice historical cottage. You can tell the owners are really thoughtful and have thought about the little things. Really appreciated the slippers and amenties kit.
The cottage is opposite IGA, so you can buy groceries and have back at the cottage. Beautiful warm fireplace! Personally, wasnt a fan of the shower in the spa bath and oven took ages to cook. Everything else was amazing!
- Gina (10/5): Quaint and enjoyable. Great hosts - Clean, well appointed Nothing
- Rachel (8/5): Charming - Cosy with character and charm
Self contained with washer and drier

- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb - Cosy and relaxing.
- Scott (10/5): Character charm in Strahan. - Fabulous character cottage in a central location. Walking distance to pub and Gordon River Cruise terminal. The hosts, Kerry and Kellie, have put a lot of thought into making our stay very comfortable. Even supplying timber for the fire. Thank you very much and would highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in Strahan.
- Jim (10/5): Had a lovely time away and the accommodation and hosts were fantastic - Location was great. The hosts were lovely. The accommodation was unique and fitting for the location
- Margaret (9/5): Superb -
- Ann (10/5): Hosts were accessible if needed, but did not intrude. Very relaxing comfortable stay. - Charming property tastefully furnished and handy to the IGA, pharmacy and Strahan wharf.
So cosy and private.
- Nicholas (9/5): The cottage was comfortable and full of character, and the location was excellent. -
- Suzanne (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): Historic charm - Sir John cottage is a beautifully presented piece of historic charm within walking distance of the Strahan waterfront.
Kerrie and Kellie are wonderful, unobtrusive hosts who have provided every comfort. The separate bedroom with four poster bed and the Jason recliners in the loungeroom were unexpected luxuries.
- Colleen (8/5): Great stay in Strahan Tasmania. - Location of the property was a short walk from the waterfront and where the cruises leave from.
The hosts were very friendly and ensured that we were happy with everything.
- Brian (10/5): Was greeted by the owner who made use feel very welcome and at home. - Great location close to everything important in Strahn
- Jill (8/5): Very comfortable and it made our stay in Strahan very easy , warm and comfortable. - Great location being opposite IGA ( for when we ran out of things ) … and just above the wharf .
The decor of the bedroom was impressive as was the complimentary toiletries pack . The washing machine : dryer and washing powder supplied . A non slip mat in the shower would be helpful.
- Dianna (8/5): Very good - The character and unique style Shower over the spa bath. Throughly enjoyed the water pressure and temperature of water. Thanks to Kellie’s heads up.
- Sally (9/5): Superb -
- David (9/5): Warm and a step back in time without doing without the modern facilities. - Entering the property was like taking a step back in time. It was lovely and warm with the heater and a/c unit turned on prior to our arrival. We did not need to use the heater in the kitchen at night and with the door closed between the hallway and kitchen and the a/c set to heat 23 degress we had lovely warm and comfortable sleep for our 2 night stay. The bathroom was spacious with lovely hot shower. The cottage had a washing m/c and dyer, but we did not need to use them.
We did not use the fire place, as it was not cold enough at the end of March 2025, but it would be very romantic in winter. The leather lounge suite was very comfortable.
Great location as it is located across the road from the IGA and just up the street from the service station. The cottage is 5-10 minute walk from the docks where you board The Gordon River Cruise as well as a number of places to get a coffe and get something to eat.
There is a very nice rainforest walk about 15 minutes from the cottage as well. The lighting in the kitchen was a little dull. A second light with a seperate switch to make it brighter would be good. With a seperate switch you could then have the kitchen filled with light or just us 1 light to give it that nostalgic feel.
- Darryl (5/5): Hosts were fine - Needs a lot of work
- Daniella (8/5): Very good - Beautiful card by Ellie to acknowledge our celebration.. Very grateful
Very comfy bed and great pillows. Great comfort sets! (slippers, robes, amenity kit for bathroom needs) Handy to IGA, walking distance to cruise and the play. Nice touch on the nightly Port. Bedroom was a fantastic size
Happy to recommend No WiFi, fan and light coming on in bathroom,( not able to disengage fan)
Seating in the lounge could be more comfy..The two chairs, (the lounge was comfy)
But overall, Thunbs Up 👍
- Maggie (9/5): Really lovely property across the road from the supermarket but very quiet at night. We were very comfortable - Fabulous old property well renovated.
- Kay (9/5): Superb - This old converted church is charming. The very helpful owners have gone to a lot of trouble furnishing the church with antiques and creating a cosy and comfortable atmosphere. There's plenty of space, the bed on the mezzanine floor is glamorous, enormous, and super comfortable, and the small but functional kitchen was well equipped for preparing simple meals. The location is great, about 5 minutes walk to the waterfront activity and directly opposite a supermarket. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay and recommend it to others.
