Guest Reviews
- Matthew (8/5): Relaxing and chilled - Location and setting was excellent
- Ken (10/5): Excellent value for money - Excellent location, functional house, value for money. The weather!
- Tate (10/5): -
- Julia (7/5): A pleasant home with a fabulous pool - The pool is so lovely and refreshing on a hot day. The outdoor table under the vines was lovely too for dinner. Air conditioning made it very comfortable in the middle of summer. Bedding am towels were lovely and clean. There is no pool furniture to lay on. Definitely need some comfortable poolside chairs for sunbathing.
- Terry (8/5): -
- Jackson (10/5): -
- Kellie (9/5): - Very clean house. The ensuite bedroom is in a shed out the back of the property.
- Cecile (8/5): -
- Merran (7/5): Pleasant - Near most things we went too. Living area small for 6 people and dining room area
- Patricia (10/5): -
- Karen (8/5): Lovely location in a large house.Bit pricey. - Spacious, large bedrooms. Well done quipped kitchen. Lovely garden. Good location. Lounge/ dining area small in comparison to bedrooms. Poor lighting, very dull. Luckily we didn’t need one bedroom so took lamps to lounge/ dining area. Really needs to be sorted.
Outside lighting at back also very poor - a safety risk. We did discuss this with the hosts and understood their reasoning, but for older people, they could trip and fall over.
Only one bathroom and toilet in bathroom plus laundry!
Needs at least another toilet. There is a space at the end of the corridor to do that. Could use a macerating toilet.
We booked a cot, not present on arrival , no instructions as to where it was, could not contact the hosts until well after dark.
Not enough pillows, one per person plus a cushion that I would not use due to hygiene reasons.
Bedrooms although lovely size a bit bare. Need some sort of dressing table in the main front bedroom.
However we overcame all the problems and had a lovely stay.
- Louise (7/5): Excellent location -
- Jane (8/5): Pleasant stay - Well equipped kitchen - great fridge, extras like salt, oil, glad wrap really useful
Garden outlook lovely at rear (pool also)
Super quiet location and 5m walk up to the main street of Tanunda, and for exercise go the other way for scenic walk along to Langmeil road
Spacious bedrooms, (nice would be a chest of drawers or something to place items on without being on the floor )
Thought there were no flannels until we discovered the thin bathroom mirror opened up which was where they were ! Air con takes say 20 mins to fire up so you can't tell if it's doing anything, sometimes the screen disappears so have to keep trying different things to get it to stay on.
Not clean enough ie 1. Splotchy marks in kitchen - i rubbed one and it came off so cleaned up myself, needs a good soak and mop. Also hairs at the corner of my room had to ask for dustpan
TV remote type i've experienced before and hate with a passion, not designed for ppl with fat fingers or long fingernails , you pick it up and it exits out if Netflix and have to start again
Don't close the flyscreen shut hard at the rear as you might get locked out, luckily the owner came over to sort us out
- Carole (7/5): Good -
- Eloise (4/5): Great location - Disappointing Accommodation - The location was wonderful - walking distance into the main street of Tanunda. It is directly opposite a school which was a little noisy through the day, but didn't bother us at all. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well provisioned. Off street parking was a bonus and we used the washing machine and clothes line regularly, so it was great to get home and not have to wash all of our clothes.
The character of the house is lovely. Whilst there were two bathrooms, one was located in a granny flat in the backyard. We weren't provided keys for the granny flat, but it was left unlocked. The bathroom door wouldn't close (latch fault), which wasn't a huge problem on its own, but the external door to the granny flat doesn't lock, so it was a bit weird having a shower in an insecure room.
The inside bathroom also houses the laundry, which makes it a bit cramped for four adults using this as the main bathroom. This bathroom felt generally dirty and smelt of old urine. I needed to use the clothes dryer on the last day and found that the filter was full of lint from previous guest use.
Both sofas were extremely dirty and the oven was also dirty. I appreciate this is an old house, but it smelled musty and this was especially the case in the built in wardrobes in the master bedroom.
There is a cellar accessed from a hatch door in the kitchen floor. This door felt extremely flimsy when we walked over it, so much so that we placed dining chairs on it to prevent us accidentally walking over it and falling through and onto the stone stairs below.
We booked this property specifically for the two bathrooms, laundry and pool. The pool was lovely, but quite cold, despite temperatures in the mid 30s during our stay.
- Madeleine (10/5): Lovely spot to stay to visit the Barossa - Lovely outdoor area - shame it was a bit too cold for a swim. We enjoyed the space - the beds were comfy it was very clean. It was perfect for our stay
- Jordan (8/5): Very good -
- Jaimy-michelle (9/5): Superb -
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful grounds, friendly staff. Enjoyed sitting in the verandah having coffee and the pool was great. Nothing
- Melanie (9/5): This home is a gem for a summer break - The pool was fab, kitchen was excellent, beds very comfy, air con very welcome! Some pool furniture would be a great addition, and a few missing essentials in the kitchen (e.g. mixing bowls)
- Steve (8/5): Very good - Kitchen blind doesn’t work
- Melissa (8/5): Jane Place was a great house for a group, conveniently located with great facilities. - The house was a wonderful size for a group. Great location, great pool, great space. Ducted Air conditioning was a little bit and miss, sometimes it felt like it was working and sometimes not…particularly at night.
- Kevin (7/5): All in all it was an enjoyable stay - One of the bedrooms and bathroom were down the back of the yard. No BBQ
- Watson1987 (6/5): Great location. Slightly misleading. - Spacious home in a great location. This home was booked because it stated it had 2 bathrooms. What the description didn't say is the second bathroom out the back in the garage. Not ideal in winter conditions. I would have reconsidered booking if this was clearly stated. Small things missing like tissues, bath mats and some items from pictures not there. Speaker system only plugged in in the kitchen (the owner provided a story about previous people abusing system with noise to listen outside (as set up) and neighbours not liking the disturbance). Just own it, say it only runs in the kitchen.
Lots of dust under curtains and in corners.
- Kathryn (10/5): Great thanks - Location I didnt check my emails on the morning of departure. Was not sure of what to do with the keys
We just left the keys inside
- Colin (9/5): Our stay was brief, but we would use again. - The location is central and within walking distance of amenities.
I did not use the kitchen, but it was beautifully equipped. The property is advertised with two bathrooms, which it technically has. However, one bathroom is external to the main property. It is however well appointed.
- Colin (7/5): I would recommend - Generous sized bedrooms The floor mounted door to the cellar under the kitchen presented a safety risk due to its poor construction. I brought this to the attention of the owner who has assured, it will be fixed
- Mark (6/5): We were very looking forward to it left disappointed and won’t be back. - Not applicable we did our own. The location was okay. We didn’t like the fact that we were under the understanding it was a 3 bedroom house with 2 bathrooms, unfortunately the 2nd bathroom was in a shed at the back of the property which was very awkward if you wanted to use it in the middle of the night & the lights were not working at the back of the property & their were many bulbs not working, and very poor lighting in the dining area.
- Steph (9/5): Superb -
- Dave (9/5): Barossa stay - Great location, Tunundas nice and central for checking out the area Lovely older home, large bedrooms with air conditioning, great with a pool
- Emma (7/5): A great place if you’re looking for somewhere with a pool. Within walking distance of the high street and really helpful - The pool is fantastic! It’s a little tired inside and very dark.
- Rebecca (9/5): Overall great stay and would definitely book again for a quick getaway as the pool is awesome! - The pool was amazing and it was so relaxing sitting out the back under the vines! King size bed was fantastic and quiet location made for a fabulous stay. Basic condiments not supplied (eg:butter) for a $350/night stay was sub par, and pool area would benefit from a couple of sun lounges on the deck!
- Karen (7/5): Very comfortable, great location property does need some work starting to look a bit tired. - The bedrooms were spacious and the king beds were comfortable. The pool temperate was perfect. There was no instructions for wifi or written information about the property. The back sliding door needs repair and there was a lack of seating around the pool.
- Christopher (10/5): A great central location with a supurb pool -
- Hayley (7/5): Overall a nice little house to stay in. - The beds were comfy. Backyard has a lovely view. Close to the main Street of Tanunda. There was a coffee machine, but no coffee/tea provision. There are 2 bathrooms, however the second is outside in the granny flat. This made it a little difficult with 4 guests. The blankets in the hallway cupboard had stains on them.
- Jan (8/5): Pleasant & clean& plenty of room. - No breakfast The bathroom was difficult for elderly people to manage. The shower door swung out to connect with the room door, & the shower insert was slippery. A hand rail in the shower would have made it safer
- Petra (7/5): Short Walk into Town - Property Does Need a Little TLC - Th Location was great and the house was pretty big The property was advertised with 2 bathrooms and there was only one bathroom. The property was a little dirty and run down. The built in cupboards in the main bedroom had broken sliding doors which would not slide open / closed. The mirror lights in the bathroom did not work. There was a coffee machine but no Tea or coffee or Sugar. There were no cleaning products to wipe down the benches, like spray and wipe.
The property is close to a school so noise from school kids on Weekdays.
- Tracey (5/5): Good location but in need of maintenance and therefore overall overpriced. - Good location, clean comfy beds.
The pool looked nice and would be lovely in summer. It said the property had 2 bathrooms, 1 was in the laundry and the other in a converted shed.
The sofas were grubby and the light switch in the lounge/dining room is on the ceiling.
The back gate was partially hanging and the back sliding door and wardrobe doors were coming off their hinges, this has been mentioned in previous reviews.
The fridge and kitchen cupboards needed wiping.
There was lots of pots and pans and crockery but no serving bowls or boards. not very equipped for a group weekend getaway.
- Helen (8/5): Despite the issues mentioned we enjoyed our stay. - Comfortable and well appointed and good location. There were several chipped plates and the outside windows of bedroom 2 needed cleaning. The foliage outside of this window needed cutting back.
The shower screen over the bath creates a water catchment and consequently during a shower it runs along, down the side and all over the floor. We first thought there was a leak! it required putting a towel on the floor outside the bath otherwise water runs into the hallway?
- Julius (9/5): It is a pleasant stay particularly if you have groups of family/friends. -
- Sharon (9/5): Clean, comfortable and conveniently located for everything we required during our stay - Very comfortable beds, great outdoor entertainment area and excellent kitchen facilities.
Easy proximity to centre of town Waking to a leaf blower early every morning (from nearby school we assumed) , barking dog next door early every morning
- Matthew (9/5): Superb -
- Joey (8/5): Very good -
- Audra (7/5): Good -
- Cross (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (7/5): Good -
- Vasilios (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
