Guest Reviews
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Koby (10/5): Excellent location and amazing locals - Robyn and John her wonderful during our stay. We loved the space and historic look of the place. Cannot recommend highly enough for a big group Nil. Loved it!
- Ayani (8/5): - Surrounded by beautiful nature, very serene and peaceful, the perfect location to unwind and relax. The house was very well equiped with amenities and was nicely decorated. Was very spacious and cosy! Found 3 mice in the barbecue so couldn’t use it, one of the showers was a little temperamental and was difficult to adjust the temperature of the water.
- Kaye (9/5): Great house, had character. Only issue was the wifi didn’t work - The outdoor area
- Peter (9/5): -

- Carla Cristina (9/5): Pleasant Experience - We had a wonderful stay. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and very well set up, with everything we needed for a relaxing visit. The space was thoughtfully prepared and felt welcoming from the moment we arrived.
Our host was friendly, responsive, and helpful, making the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Clear communication and attention to detail really stood out.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this accomodation to anyone visiting Angaston. We would definitely stay again.

- karin (10/5): Absolutely great stay - Great location we absolutely loved the gardens and outdoor jacuzzi incl outdoor bathroom shower and dressing gowns for everyone in the bedrooms Curtain in one of the bedrooms not able to open
- Angela (10/5): -
- Leah (3/5): Disappointed is an understatement. - The location was great, and the outside garden was lovely except for the steps leading down: safety tape has been applied but to an uneven surface. The closest alternate route has obstacles.
The house had good aircon for the downstairs area which unfortunately did not help upstairs during extreme heat but was expected, the use of portable fans for upstairs was a help. I booked this house due to being listed and described as luxurious. My family and I did not have this experience. The house was very dusty, spider/ant/insect infested, and webs visible. Our bedding had insects on the first night. One bed had a spider nest that we had to deal with. The host advised cleaner issues with their crew, and used ‘old with disabilities’ which I found uncomfortable that the host chose to inform me in that terminology. Unfortunately insects in our beds was a constant occurrence, due to the house having many webs, insects fell especially in the back rumpus bedroom from the ceiling and behind the bed, onto the bed.
The host kindly offered to come and inspect the house which I find interesting now after reading previous reviews (sadly only reading these after my stay) which described the same things highlighting issues regarding dust especially that same year.
We tried to make the best of a difficult situation, especially as it was during an extreme heat episode weather wise, but we spent a great deal of our time in the house ‘cleaning’ to feel comfortable with small children with the environment and especially due to being asthma sufferers. The dust was not ideal. Finding the outside shower eventually was a positive. The only one.
Due to the conditions of inside the house I refused to put my children in the ‘hot tub’. The bathroom is in need of a severe upgrade, with the inside shower needing help with mould. We had to utilise a local relatives amenities due to it being too hard to work. The bathroom curtains could do with a web/insect removal. The microwave is also completely rusted and not working properly. Overall it was a short break that felt more like hard work and anxiety, than luxury. Australia has insects, that is a given but I felt there were more inside the house than outside! I was very unhappy for the price I paid for 2 nights.

- Samantha (9/5): Fantastic spot for a group to stay to expore the valley - Grate location , super helpful host, simple access
- Ciara (7/5): -
- Peter (9/5): A great weekend away with a comfortable log cabin feel! - Location was excellent, loved the outdoor area and spa. Water pressure in the shower was a bit low but otherwise all great
- lynda (7/5): -
- Debbie (5/5): - Faciities were misleading - the description said 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms for 8 adults. The 5th Bedroom was 2 beds on a landing (thankfully we didn't need this, and there was only 1 bathroom. No bathroom upstairs with an extra toilet downstairs and an extra shower in the laundry room which was separate to the house. Not suitable for 8 adults in their 70's.
- Rachael (10/5): - We loved staying at this beautiful home.
- Andrea (10/5): -
- Tegan (7/5): Cozy, warm log cottage ideal for families. - The location was great and close to shops. The architecture and style was cozy and fitting for the location. The spa was therapeutic with the contrast to the cold. Wine and nibbles were yummy on arrival. The outside laundry and shower was great. The choice of so many beds was good to work out which was comfortable to sleep in. We liked the board games and the fire place. It was nice to have fresh milk in the fridge. Great communication with our host. 🩷🌈👍 We had to ask for firewood. 🪵 maybe putting the heater on prior to arrival time. And maybe getting some pet chickens lol.
- Michael (8/5): We will recommend this house to friends - Well located in a quite location that had all the facilities we required Could do with an exhaust fan in the second toilet
- Alanah (7/5): Great place to stay - Cosy house. Great value for money very cheap and clean. Owners were lovely Nothing
- Helen (10/5): Fabulous stay group of four ladies for a catch up . Each having our own double room was a luxury ! - Cosy . Had heaps of character . Walking distance to a few eateries food land etc. Owners easily accessible . Delivered wood in an instant upon request at a cost of your own . Good quality wood and support with making the fire . Nice welcome gift upon arrival cheese crackers dried fruit wine milk in the fridge . Can’t think of one thing !
- Emma (10/5): Gorgeous home away from home - Absolutely gorgeous property, we wish we had more time to spend here! Loved the log cabin feel and the spaciousness A few outdated and slow kitchen appliances
- Kaye (8/5): Very good - We were a group of four men. All had our own room each and two bathrooms to share so perfect for our requirements
- Kyle (9/5): A perfect place to stay for families or friend groups - Great location, exquisite home and hosts had thought of absolutely everything to make the stay excellent. Short walk to the main road but the location is quiet, and house is surrounded on all sides by backyard space so it feels very separate and cosy. Comfortable beds, great facilities and a full house didn't feel crowded at all. For what was advertised, there is very little to be upset at.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely beautiful place to stay.
- Felicity (9/5): Great location, really good size for a family stay. Really enjoyed our stay. - Peaceful location and a great house to stay in as a family of 6 people Needs a bigger frypan in the kitchen
- Julie (10/5): Perfect Barossa weekend - Perfect for our Barossa getaway Nothing to report
- Wendy (5/5): Passable - Loved the patio out the back. Good place for having a barbecue and eating outside. Stairs down to garden need to be replaced.
Plates did not fit in dishwasher so had to hand wash. Plates chipped.
- Helen (9/5): Superb - Beautiful getaway
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The property had an excellent range of toys and games for kids and also the spa is a great feature. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and all of these little touches made it a wonderful stay. Thank you to the hosts!!! N/A
- Walter (1/5): Would never go there again! - Sorry nothing to like about this property!!! The owner didn’t answer the phone?? It was not as advertised!! 4 bedroom 3 bathroom??? 4 bedroom ok not very clean! In the house 1 bathroom and one toilet. On the outside in the laundry a shower and a basin with cold or hot water?! Kitchen cupboard broken and dirty. Lounge, without rain, leaking with water( messaged the owner) dirty oven, ants, cockroaches and possums which keep some of us awake during the night. Totally overpriced for what we got??!! It is a shame because with just a bit more effort and TLC, it could be a wonderful place!!
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Noelene (10/5): Very relaxing and restorative - Excellent location, extremely clean and welcoming. The location was fantastic. The garden brought a lot of birds into the back yard.
- Gaynor (5/5): Passable - Location in Angaston was fabulous.
Loved the garden, but the steps were dangerous and need repairs.
Loved the stain glass. We're very impressed with the kitchen equipment. No wi fi. No instructions for appliances.
- Remco (9/5): Excellent rustic setting with room for everyone. Great to hang on the grass and play finska - Lots of rooms
Lots of pantry items to use
Finska We only discovered the second outside shower at the end - would have been good to know with the number of rooms
- Kylie (10/5): Such a relaxing place to stay, would love to come back in warmer weather to enjoy the outside more. - Quiet and peaceful, lots of places close by to explore. Spa, outdoor area, and fireplace were the highlights. There were lots of games there we could play and dvds to watch. Nothing that we didn’t like. Only thing would be the 5th bedroom is not a room, it’s a spot on the landing of the loft with 2 single beds, but that didn’t bother our group.
- Kathy (7/5): Good - the house was in a great location and was comfortable the possums on the roof all night, the burnt fry pan, the leaky roof
- Bec (8/5): Very good -
- Mirella (9/5): Superb - Loved the location, around the corner from the main road but still felt remote and private.
Loved the space inside and out, very much a social setting to enjoy each other's company Only a little thing but while I loved the open space, the noise carried upstairs and every step seemed to be heard throughout the house
- Orlaithmoore (9/5): Loved it! Perfect place for a group getaway. We shall return! - Great location and gorgeous property - inside and out! Warm, inviting, comfortable -has everything we needed.
Highlight was the hot tub undercover - perfect for warming up on a cold winter's night.
Our host Robyn was very attentive and assisted with lots of queries in the lead up to our stay. A definite plus was using Barossa and Beyond to transport us to our winery lunch and distillery visit then back home. The personal service was appreciated by all. An improvement could be - more seating on the front verandah to admire the garden view.
- Suzanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (5/5): Overall the location was great but wasn’t what was advertised. - Great location No wifi
No firewood unless you are willing to pay extra
No firewood for the outdoor fire pit
Does not have three bathrooms as advertised. Only 1 bathroom, a shower in the laundry and a separate toilet. Only booked this place as we had three couples and wanted 3 bathrooms
- Kellie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Angie (9/5): A lovely, enjoyable stay. Thank you - Location was great, peaceful on a long weekend. Hosts were amazing and friendly, great with advice on things to do. Provided everything we needed without having to ask.
- Jeremy (9/5): Convenient location. Well equiped house. - Comfortable beds. Clean house in quiet street. Wine and milk in the fridge.
- Fiona (8/5): Great value accommodation in the heart of the Barossa. - The location was fantastic, central to Angaston which is in the heart of the Barossa. There is a wonderful garden surrounding the house, and our large group were able to be accommodated together. The host was helpful and able to be contacted throughout our stay. Fantastic food and wine options within easy walking distance. Whilst some of the guests did not find their pillows comfortable, there were many to choose from so alternatives were available.
- Mellisa (8/5): Very good -
- Craig (9/5): Superb -
- Suzie (8/5): A great weekend retreat. - Thank you for a wonderful stay. The welcome bottle and cheese was such a lovely addition as well as the bath robes and pre-stacked fire. The spa was set and ready. Very quiet location and an easy walk into town for coffee. Lovely addition of quality shampoo/soaps in the bathrooms. Some cooking utensils need replacing and a new frying pan is needed.
- Alicia (8/5): Fantastic stay, thank you! - The complimentary cheese and wine, the preheated spa, the activities/boardgames and condiments in cupboard/fridge, the spaciousness of the house, the garden, the location The microwave needs upgrading, A better variety of pillows, fireplace smoked out the house a couple of times (might just be a blockage in flume)
- Deb (8/5): Very good - We are used a king bed so a double was a bit small for us but the accomodation was very comfortable thanks
- Nantapat (10/5): I would highly recommend this place to anyone wishing to spend a few days in the Barrossa . - A beautiful cosy and well set out place to stay with everything you would ever need. Good base for exploring the Barrossa and hosts were easy to connect with.
- Cathy (7/5): Great to find a place in a handy Barossa location that can accommodate a group of friends. - The location was good and the cabin was quirky. We were not able to work the microwave and the oven hotplate was worn and a bit dangerous.. (we cooked each night).
More instructions onsite rather than on the app would be helpful (as there were 6 people needing to know which was the filtered tap and what to do with heating.
- Annie (9/5): Superb -
- Declan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (10/5): Great place for staying with friends - wonderful space for enjoying a long weekend with friends.
plenty of space inside and out and the spa was great and very peaceful
would really recommend for a trip to the Barossa nothing
- Trevor (10/5): Excellent - Great rustic vibe with all amenities & more catered
- Nick (9/5): Fantastic short getaway in the Barossa Valley - The hosts were excellent to deal with. We booked a morning breakfast and winery tour with John and Robyn who went out of their way to make everything perfect. Breakfast was scrumptious and very filling and we had an extremely enjoyable day visiting numerous wineries which included a very tasty lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.
- Lynne (4/5): Disappointed - The proximity to town of Angaston and surrounding areas. Listing says 3 bathrooms with shower when only 2 bathrooms, one of which was not inside the house and had no exhaust fan and broken towel rail. Tumble dryer not working.House is very dark with poor lighting. Light bulbs blown or missing. Could not access wifi. Fire pit "garden"not as described. House in need of an update and in the meantime a really good deep clean. May be ok as a party house for groups of 20 somethings but definitely not for anyone expecting the comfort the price tag suggests.
- Michelle (7/5): Overall we enjoyed our time here. - Good location. Walking distance to Foodland, a playground and a yummy pizza place called 40's cafe in Angaston. Large house with plenty of room inside and large lawn area outside too. Oven and microwave didn't work very well. Loud possums or cats jumping on the roof at night, which woke us up a few times.
- Krysten (9/5): Superb - Very spacious and the spa and speaker was fantastic!
Robin and John were amazing!!! Picking us up, transferring us around the whole time and just so lovely and helpful!
- Michelle (8/5): Girl's weekend at Angaston Winter by the Creek - Spa and the karaoke where great Spider webs
- Rowan (8/5): Very good -
- Stephanie (9/5): a perfect place to explore the Barossa from and the hosts Robyn and John were amazing - great location, beautiful gardens and had a real felling of being at home.
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vanessa (10/5): Robyn and John were fabulous hosts , very accomodating and friendly , right from collection to departure they were on ca - it catered for a large group easily nothing it was great
- Sheryl (10/5): the hosts where excellent it was very relaxing and in a very good location - The host Robyn and John where fantastic they where so helpful with both the accomodation and transport to our booked events . The property was excellent for our group including both the location and amenities
- Wayne (7/5): Good -
- Fellows (3/5): Great outside garden and hot tub area. - No breakfast as breakfast was extra charge No WiFi could not find the network provided / Dryer does not work / Light bulbs missing / Clock needs batteries/ Loud noises in the middle of the night / Powder room did not have hot tap / Dirty pots and pans.
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional - How laid back everything was , from the accommodation , to our amazing hosts, Everything was perfect, except the weather and well we can't control that lol
- Josh (10/5): Great homey and cosy feel. Plenty of room for our large group! Excellent!!! - The bubbley breakfast was fantastic!!! The hot tub was perfect for the chilly nights and the entertainment system was lots of fun. It rained, so we couldn't enjoy the garden as much as we would of liked:(
- Sophie (8/5): Very good -
- Tracey (9/5): Superb - comfortable, warm, had everything we needed for day to day enjoyment. spa was amazing. very accomodating with baby facilities. bathroom facilities were a bit odd and not really as advertised. lounge area wasn’t as functional as we would like for 6.
