Guest Reviews
- Anna (6/5): - The location is lovely especially with the horsies who come up and say hello. It is a great place for stargazing too. The fireplace keeps the whole cabin nice and toasty. It is very basic set up. There is no microwave which would be great to have. The bed and bath was clean but it was a bit musty and the kitchen had a funky smell. If your not a fan of creepy crawlies or mice/rats this place wouldn't be good. We did find a dead mouse under the fire place. However, it is a farm so it is normal to have little visitors.
- Justin (8/5): Quite relaxing atmosphere with board games for your use. Peaceful getaway - It was secluded and relaxing Bathroom toilet area. Too many creepy crawlies due to the roof being tacked on and unsealed

- Madeleine (10/5): Perfect Winter getaway! - We loved our stay at Myrtle Mae Farm.
A very cute rustic cottage with beautiful views out every window. Booked with every intention for nothing fancy and everything wholesome, with dog welcome.
Comfy midcentury armchairs infront of the fire.
Four friendly horses my kids pat and brushed all day.
A perfect Winter getaway - thank you. Not a dislike - but the oil and salt had run out.
We had our own so not an issue.
- Hannah (10/5): Beautiful stay in a beautiful location - Beautiful location, easy drive into town. The house itself is so cute, really loved the brick floor and the big windows.
We loved the view of the paddocks from the front. It felt super cosy.
- Carolyn (8/5): A lovely country stay - Stunning location, a lovely rustic country experience. Nothing really
- Christopher (9/5): Beautiful place in a lovely, quiet location. - Amazing, beautiful old place in a very quiet location - a bit of highway noise in the distance but it's a fair way off the road so not bothersome at all. Right by a big nature reserve with lots of walking trails. There were a few small things missing that I assumed would be present as they are so standard in places like this: sugar (tea, coffee, and milk are provided but no sugar), a microwave (there is an oven and a stove so this is a surprising omission), and some kind of shower gel or body wash (towels and hand soap are provided, so again, you'd expect this). Everything else was amazing.

- Ann (10/5): - Set between Donnybrook and Bridgetown quiet farm like getaway.
Warm ,comfortable and cosy.
Great bush walking nearby.
Great communication from owner
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
- Kayla (8/5): Very good - We stayed here for our 1 year wedding anniversary, the property is beautiful, very rural and simple though so don't expect anything grand - but that's exactly what we loved about it. Horses come to visit in the morning, wines on the patio watching the sunset in the evening - bliss! We were able to bring our German Shepherd too she had the best time. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful getaway :) Nothing :)
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabby (10/5): Sweet and wholesome, our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! - I loved the garden, animals and walking close by, also cooking in the kitchen was made easy with the nice stove and oven.
The horses were so friendly and lovely 💖 The views outside the windows were splendid! Also, the herbal sprinkle in the pantry was a true revelation, I can’t live without it now! 🕺🪩 Unseen mice were around, but that wasn’t a bother to us.
- Brittany (10/5): Very Relaxing country vibe. Cosy cottage. Definitely worth every penny I spent. Probably owner Al was very helpful with - Very relaxing country vibe
- Craig (7/5): Great place to enjoy with the family dogs. - Fantastic location and beautiful property with heaps of wildlife. Few updates required.
- Wijnand (9/5): Superb -
- Robyn (9/5): A peaceful, enjoyable stay at Myrtlemae Cottage. - Loved the simplicity of the cottage. The surrounding gardens were beautiful. Great location. So lovely to be able to bring our two dogs with us. Communication with host was very good. Would love to come back in the cooler weather when the paddocks are green.
- Nesben (10/5): The PERFECT break from our city lives and was everything we wanted in a farm-stay. - The location was perfect. It wasn't in the town and it was on top of a hill overlooking farms/valleys. We were provided with utensils, Nespresso machine (owners provided us with more pods than expected even though we brought our own), bathroom was modern, the toilet view was amazing, we were able to walk the property and walk through the paddocks (my dogs loved this). There was so much fauna around - MANY birds, possums, kangaroos, emus, cows and horses. There was some bricks on the ground that were falling in, just outside the bathroom door but it was easy to remember and to step around. Everything about the property was just perfect for what we wanted.
- Parsons (7/5): Pricey for what you got. Flooring dangerous. Mirror needed in bathroom. Outdoor chairs need replacing. - Quiet Lacked a few things
- Brando (7/5): Good -
- Vicki (6/5): View wonderful but would not stay again - Nice view No microwave....no tv. I had to sleep on a single bed !!!! double bed not made up....no coat hangers to hang up clothes..not very clean when I had to pay extra $60 for cleaning..chairs on front veranda very uncomfortable.. very expensive stay when I have stayed at other places for cheaper and much better...locks on doors very very hard to unlock..
- Fiona (8/5): Very good - Lovely rustic, vintage vibe. Lots of birdlife, very peaceful & relaxing Bathroom was like going into a freezer!
- Deborah (5/5): Passable - Lovely spot.
Loved the cottage.
Wasnt very clean shame as we loved the place.
- Richard (4/5): Disappointing - The property was secluded and peaceful with interesting wildlife. It has rustic charm and great potential. The air conditioner was largely ineffective unless you sat immediately in front (it was a significantly warm weekend). The air flow did not extend into the raised sleeping area, making sleeping uncomfortably warm.
After warnings of possible snakes, the large gap under the verandah door gave cause for concern.
- Sonya (7/5): Good -
- Justine (9/5): Superb - Excellent location near a natural bush reserve and close to Balingup. The view over the paddocks was lovely to wake up to. The wood burner heated the whole house very effectively. The shower delivered very hot water with excellent pressure.
- Clifford (9/5): Superb - First time experience staying in a farm house. Most best memories and would love to come back again in the future. None to be honest
- Melanie (8/5): Cute little cottage for a weekend away. - Wonderful little place for a winter getaway. This is our second time staying here. We love it!
