- Alisdair (9/5): Affordable luxury in the Barossa. - What a fabulous house! Beautiful, both inside and out. Comfy Beds , a great kitchen with everything you could think of. All the appliances, dinnerware and cookware were all very good quality. The huge bathroom, although not ensuite, is really well thought out with lovely partition doors to divide up the different areas if needed and the finish is very high quality. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into setting up this house for a guest's every need. Its only 2 min walk (if that) into the centre of Tanunda or the house has really nice gardens to relax and enjoy a glass of wine in. We had a wonderful stay and Max (the host) was extremely accomadating and helpful So if you fancy a bit of luxury at affordable rates I would thoroughly reccomend Basedow House. Nothing comes to mind.

From the moment we arrived, we noticed the luxe touches throughout — quality linens, elegant finishes, and those little extras that made the stay feel indulgent yet incredibly welcoming. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and wonderfully comfortable, creating a true home away from home — with a boutique, high-end feel. It’s the kind of place where you instantly relax and feel looked after. The location is fantastic — directly opposite the vineyards and just a short stroll to the main street of Tanunda, cafés, and restaurants. We especially loved unwinding in the beautiful garden, soaking up the peaceful Barossa surroundings. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and communicated so clearly, making everything effortless from start to finish. It’s the perfect base for exploring the Barossa Valley, and we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

- Hamish (10/5): Basedow Haus is a very high standard of accommodation - The property is centrally located - in walking distance to cafes and restaurants. It also has a great central location for exploring local wineries and nearby towns. The property is exceptionally clean and well organised. Communication with Max was easy and clear. A folder of useful (and accurate!) recommendations for experiencing the area fully was provided. The bed we slept in was extremely comfortable and the property had all the amenities that we required. It was a home away from home. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends and seek to stay here again when we return.

The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Basedow Haus was beautiful, Max and Neale were fabulous hots giving us plenty of information about the house, surrounding vineyards, destinations and restaurants N/A

The host, Max, was super responsive to our upfront questions & sent very clear instructions. Nothing was too much trouble. This cleverly & tastefully renovated house is a home-from-home which contained everything one could possibly want for a relaxing stay - fully stocked kitchen with water filter, comfy beds, thick walls providing sound proofing, individuality zoned rooms for heating/cooling, a formal lounge/dining/kitchen overlooking large private garden, outdoor dining setting & BBQ. The quality of linen, towels, bath robes, toiletries, etc. did not go unnoticed. Only a few minutes walk to supermarket, cafes, restaurants & bars. 2 nights was definitely not enough time to fully enjoy everything this house has to offer AND see the local area (we felt torn how to spend our time). We will definitely return. Literally nothing. It was fabulous!

It was stocked with everything to prepare your foodie feasts after sourcing in the Barossa. We loved the concrete floors too and the central cooling, it was so homely. We didn’t want to leave! Nothing. It was perfect.
