Guest Reviews
- Hawkett (10/5): A wonderful quiet getaway. Very peaceful. Beautiful environment. -
- Fathima (9/5): We as a family enjoyed the stay. - Very clean and tidy I like almost everything
- Amelia (8/5): Pleasant granny flat with leafy outlook - Lovely leafy outlook with a pleasantly appointed interior. It is the granny flat of a suburban house with an independent entrance via the driveway. Good WiFi and adequate kitchen. A short drive to the lovely Mt Painter reserve. Although there was aircon in the kitchen/dining there was none I could see in the bedroom and no additional blankets which left me a bit light on for a cool autumn night short of heating the whole apartment. The bed was a bit squeaky which could be annoying.
- MarishMadhav (10/5): Neat and Tidy - The property had almost everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and it was clean and well‑kept. The internet connection was very poor, which made it difficult to get online. If anyone plans to work or relies on having a stable connection, it’s worth checking with the host beforehand to confirm whether the internet speed has been improved.
- Greg (9/5): Cook Cottage is highly recommended in every area, clean, comfy, convenient, home away from home. -
- Anuj (10/5): -
- Anu (10/5): Amazing cottage - Nice cottage with kitchen clean and tidy We need extra quilt or a thicker quilt and extra pillows
- Svetlana (10/5): - A wonderful place for those tired of the hustle and bustle of the city. The house is very well-appointed, clean, and cozy. We will definitely come again. Happy New Year to Victor, Yulia, and Petya! We wish your family health, love, and happiness.

- Jocelyn (9/5): - The cottage included everything necessary for a comfortable retreat as well as little extras we didn't expect! Can't really find anything.
- Anna Marie (10/5): - Nice and quiet. A little oasis in the ACT.
- Mussawar (10/5): If you see this available, don't miss this place and book it ASAP. - The property is exceptionally clean. More than we expected. Felt like a 5 star place. It was properly heated on a cold night. Even my 2 year old got so comfy straight away. He loved the stay. It was so comfortable. I loved their hospitality, specially they set up a bed with cars bedsheed for my little boy which he absolutely loved. This tiny detail made us felt great. Nothing. It has everything you would expect.
- Bruce (9/5): Enjoyable stay in this well appointed cottage. Good value for money. - Exactly as described. Comfortable. Well outfitted. Nothing.
- Peter (10/5): Short and sweet - Everything Nothing
- JAMES (10/5): - Wonderful accommodation, it has everything you need.
Exceptional value for money, very quiet location close to all Canberra has to offer , great kayaking, cycling tracks, walking trails.
The hosts are nice people who leave you alone but close at hand if you need them.
I spent two nights on my way to Wagga Wagga as part of holiday, so glad I stayed at Cook Cottage.
Thank you Victor & Julia! NA, all good!!!!!
- Tania (10/5): -
- Rowena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Toby (10/5): Cozy cottage! - A cute and super comfortable cottage. It was cozy and warm, the kitchen was very well equipped, the bed was comfy and the shower was nice. Everything was very clean, fantastic! Nothing negative at all.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Dorette (10/5): Holiday Stay - Was better than we expected. The cottage was exceptionally great with everything you could need. The gentleman was very welcoming & nothing was a bother. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE PROPERTY & we will DEFINITELY stay there again.
- Jo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karl (9/5): Quiet, private, close to shops and amenities. - Very private, quiet. Generally very well equipped, but could be improved with a few small extras, such as box of tissues and face washer for bathroom, plus some extra toilet paper, and, a roll of paper towel in kitchen.
- Charles (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (9/5): Superb - The property was clean and as advertised. Would definitely stay again. The hearing was very good, an electric blanket would be lovely though.
- Anne (10/5): Charming and comfortable. We’ll be back . - Its cuteness Hubby unhappy with toilet seat lid not staying up!
- Andrew (10/5): Excellent. - The host, Viktor, is very helpful and friendly. I arrived a little early and that was no problem at all.
- Naleen (8/5): Very good -
- Khalil (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. host is awesome. property has full equiped kitchen.
- Kvack (10/5): Clean, comfortable, private cottage, helpful hosts. - Clean, comfortable, quiet, good location, helpful hosts. It is a nice private cottage in the back yard of the hosts house. Off street parking is good. All was good
- Perri (10/5): Exceptional - Victor was very nice and easy to reach out to. Location was close to everything, and the accomodation itself was clean and comfortable.
- Cheryl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (9/5): The stay was fantastic with everything close by including shops within walking distance. - There was no breakfast. Full cooking facilities. Hosts were very friendly & helpful. Hosts did not encroach on your privacy at all. The only thing was that the couch could have been a bit firmer. The 2 of us rolled into each other.
- Amanda (9/5): For my son and I being tourists in Canberra, this place was perfect. It was central to all the attractions and the owner - It was like home away from home. The facilities great, had everything you needed for a short or long stay…and a coffee machine! The area was quiet and easy drive to city and shops N/a
- Lionel (9/5): Great value, comfortable, friendly hosts. - The cottage had all the necessities - full, well equipped kitchen, washing machine, lounge, table and chairs. The beds were comfortable and location is good with easy access to Belconnen, Civic and through the motorways to all of Canberra. The cottage is very quiet and set in a nice garden. The flooring was a little dated. We would have liked a ceiling fan rather than needing to use the air conditioner.
- Lorraine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gay (10/5): Relaxing, romantic, enjoyable - Our host was very friendly & helpful, The Cottage was bright inside & cosy, very clean & well set out, we had all we needed, at the back of the garden it was surround by trees which gave it a secluded feel & very quiet at night. The Cottage was only 3 minute walk to the venue we were there to visit, + a fantastic pizza restaurant and cafe etc. We really had a wonderfully relaxing time there. Nothing, all was wonderful.
- Keitht (9/5): Quite and convenient; comfortable and well located. - A comfortable self catering cottage in the rear of a suburban block. It was spacious (one bedroom but good kitchen, and lounge/meals space), and set in a garden setting. It was the end of spring and we enjoyed the fragrances of the plants in the garden.
It was in a perfect location - close to a supermarket, and pizza restaurant, a coffee lounge, not far from Jamison shopping centre and within easy reach of Canberra Civic or Belconnen Mall, by bus and the Belconnen market and Bunnings is a good walk away or an easy drive.
It was quiet and you would be hard pressed to think you were in the capital of Australia. There were birds everywhere, and the roosters crowing in the day gave it a rural feel.
Lots of trees and clean fresh air. A good place to act as a base for anything you do in CBR. I had trioubke sleeping but that was my problem. I think a blanket would have been better instead of a doona (although we didn't look for one and I was not aware of any other bedding).
- Robyn (9/5): A great place to stay while visiting family. - The property was good for our use. Just a couple of things we would expect in the property that were not included. The property was very clean and comfortable although bed a bit firm for our liking. It is very quiet location and close to most things. A couple of minor issues we would expect. Maybe a towel rail for the towels. Bedding to include a sheet and a blanket available instead of a doona only which I discussed with the owners
- Karie (9/5): Great stay, comfortable and friendly. Would thoroughly recommend - Friendly host. Easy to find. Close to our destination. Reasonably priced. Fully self contained cottage with all amenities
- Robyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and quite, and not too far away from everything
- Robyn (9/5): Ideal stay, good value - Location was ideal. On arrival I spoke to them and they walked us down to the cottage opened door and gave us a tour of the cottage and the facilities there. Friendly welcoming couple. Did have slight problem with the tv but they fixed it straight away. Will recommend the cottage to others to stay there. No problems
- Suraj (9/5): Superb - Cleanliness, Basis grocery items provided Television as no smart TV to watch YouTube
- Neil (9/5): Superb - Quiet central location
- Collins (9/5): lovely little cottage - very comfortable, with lovely touches like providing basic grocery items and a coffee machine. Very private with a pretty green area to sit in. Certainly recommend it.
- Plumbridge (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mathew (5/5): The bath towels were clean but rock hard- like they had been line dried in the wind - We found it a bit average - when you walked in the backyard where the unit is situated,it just looked like the yard and the garden and veranda could do with a good clean up. The table and chairs on the veranda need in our opinion a good clean up (or replacement).
- Janet (8/5): Very good - Very close to our venue. It wasn't an easy walk to the cabin once you were in the back yard
- Robert (7/5): We enjoyed our stay even with the above problems - Breakfast was not applicable, Location was fine The doona on the bed was too small for the bed and with below average temperatures left us a little cool. The 2 seater couch was most uncomfortable to sit on as it sloped into the centre. The pathway to the cottage was not suitable for older less sure footed people
- Tammy (9/5): Loved it - It was cozy, quiet and beautiful
Appreciated use of the driveway
Awesome location The bedroom curtains could be a little darker
- Jo-anne (10/5): Exceptional - Everything It was completely perfect
- Colin (8/5): Cooks cottage stay - The peacefulness of rhe home .
It was situated in a good area to get into shopping complex
Short drive from major highways Everything in home all good
- E (9/5): Spaciously self-contained - Self-contained and spacious.
Tourist info, videos and some reading material available. A warning if you have a large vehicle and you are not a confident driver that I notice some mirror level damage to a wall which is probably from another guest reversing out of the driveway.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Hannah (9/5): Superb -
- Frances (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage has everything you could possibly need for a short or longer stay. It is conveniently located close to Canberra but gives you a sense of privacy. The hosts are always friendly and welcoming and even thought eh cottage is located at the rear of their property, they are not a disturbance at all.
- Sab (9/5): Peaceful and relaxing - The Cottage is a beautiful, quiet abode, fully furnished, spacious and very comfortable. The quiet factor is always what I'm looking for. I enjoyed the coffee machine, the air conditioning (it was very cold this weekend) and the shower as well! The chirping of the birds outside, the convenient location and the lovely hosts round it up nicely. Nothing!
Just a suggestion for later, when the TV needs replacing: a smart option to connect with the customer's own streaming services would be an added bonus.
- Farah (10/5): Nice cabin with good privacy at a quiet neighbourhood - Updated the owner about my ever changing ETA as we were driving from Sydney, and he was cool about it, as long I arrive before 9pm.
The place is isolated from the owner house, and yet giving the secured feeling given its the same compound.
The kitchen is well equipped with herbs n olive oil i actually made a pasta meal from there. Coffee pods, washing machine, all other things are on good condition.
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Ali (8/5): Very good -
- Sue (9/5): Excellent location to our son and family - Excellent location
- Robert (9/5): Highly recommend, and will most likely return within the next year or so. - Close to a variety of shops and public transport, and not too far from the city A comfortable easy chair would be an asset, but that's a personal thing. We had been driving for a few days and needed somewhere comfortable to sit.
- Penny (8/5): Quiet and Pleasant - Very quiet at night, and the cottage whilst at the back of a suburban house felt very private. Walking distance ( 5 mins) to the local shopping centre.
The bed was comfortable and I personally very much liked that the doona/s were feathers/ duck down so much better than polyester and beautifully snug I personally like a TV in the bedroom as when I go away I like to cosy up in bed, before I go to sleep and or if I wake up early and watch the box, so I was a little disappointed there wasn't one in the bedroom. I felt the place could have done with a few large rugs, the linoleum floor was a bit cold. Also the blow heater for the kitchen area smelt toxic when I turned it on. I don't know if that's because it's new or something but I didn't use it so whilst I had the little oil heater on most of the time the place was a little cold for -3, - 4 mornings.
- Mena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bronte (9/5): Superb -
- Dennis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oldcarlovers (9/5): Lovely comfortable cottage in good location which met all our needs with good parking - Location, overall comfort and ease of facilities, all needs met, good parking, very pleasant host, quiet and safe. Good wi-fi. Nothing.
- Michele (7/5): Good -
- Alisha (9/5): Great, convenient, cozy cottage. - Lots of facilities - able to do own washing, full kitchen, fridge, aircon, nice touches like washing powder provided and oats in the cupboard which I wasn't expecting. Stayed with child, very suitable for this.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Comfortable , enjoyabe and relaxing. Quite area. Not far from most attractions. -
- Danny (9/5): Superb -
- Kim (9/5): Great location in a quiet neighbourhood. Hosts were very friendly. Very private setting. -
- Robyn (10/5): Peaceful oasis - Spacious rooms. Great cooking facility and nice and peaceful. Not too far to where we needed to go Bed was very hard so maybe a matress topper to help soften it
- Riki (9/5): Superb - The cottage was clean, private and comfortable! It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay
- Georgina (8/5): Very good - Viktor and Julia's place was cosy and comfortable and they were most accommodating in giving us access a bit early. I didn't get to meet them but knew they'd be responsive if we'd needed assistance.
- Rina (8/5): Very good - Location Noise of the heater
- Caroline (9/5): Superb - It was cosy and comfortable
- Merryl (9/5): Great accommodation - Comfortable, very clean, very quiet and the bedroom was very dark at night. Lovely hot water in the shower. Towel rails and a shower caddy would be very useful. The bathroom is a good size and there is plenty of room for both.
- Madan (10/5): Exceptional - Everyone perfect
- Janet (7/5): Good - Friendly owners
- Stephanie (8/5): A quiet location only a 10 minute drive to the center of Canberra. - A quiet location only a 10 minute drive to the center of Canberra. I did not realise that it was a cabin in someone's backyard.
- Shelley (9/5): Superb -
- Maryjane (10/5): The owners were lovely we enjoyed the stay in that cute cottage we will definitely go back .. thank you 😊 - Close to everything , everything was near by to were we wanted to go too .
