Guest Reviews
- Laurence (10/5): Charme à l italienne - Magnifique demeure.

- Jessica (10/5): We had a wonderful stay. Just being in the villa felt like a vacation! - Huge and beautiful. Amazing property. Nice location away from the crowds. It was a bit difficult to figure out how to get in when we first arrived!
- Ricardo (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house in Florence with a nice garden and decoration. Rooms were comfortable and quite large. A bit far from downtown but easy to reach with bus lines 11 and 12.
- Antonio (9/5): Superb -
- Burke (9/5): Superb - The location and space was ideal for our group of six adults. The house and grounds were beautiful, everyone enjoyed the house. Walked up to La Terrazza for dinner both nights, which was wonderful! Since we arrived after dark, the first evening was a bit tricky (e.g., the on-street parking and the security code/keys to the house). Didn’t take long and it all worked out fine. Barbara was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay again!
- Lynn (9/5): Superb - Location and the villa is very spacious. The coffee maker was not working. Having to carry trash to the dumpsters that are 2 blocks away.
- Philip (10/5): Our stay at Villa Lia was relaxing, stylish, and comfortable. - The decor and styling of the rooms, as well as the spacious common areas. One of the bedrooms’ en-suite bathrooms has a rain shower head that can be a little messy. The water spills everywhere. It seems difficult to switch back to the normal shower head.
- Pilarova (10/5): Lovely apartment for a great price - The apartment was spacious and beautiful, garden gorgeous and private, lovely smelling flowers everywhere. All we needed for a great city break! Host Barbara was a pleasure to communicate with.
- Miriam (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely stunning place, really comfortable and great facilities. Easy walk into town or can catch a bus. Pictures don't do it justice, it is just so nice!
- Alok (9/5): Superb -
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amy (10/5): Beautiful Italian Villa - The house was beautiful and in a very nice neighborhood! It was easy to walk to sights or to get a taxi to things we wanted to see! The house was so quaint and comfortable! The owner was so easy to communicate with!
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Carmel (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, specious, clean place - 40 minutes walk to the center.
- Laura (10/5): Loved Florence, loved Villa Lia. - Our stay in Villa Lia (1st floor apartment) was very good. It was large and all bedrooms had plenty of space. The rooms we used had ensuite facilities, and all are air conditioned (which was still much needed in September). Barbara, our host, was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions that we had. The entry gate and door codes are sent to you on the day via WhatsApp. Note the gate entry is at 17 not 19, and the door to the first floor is round to the right of the building. There is a lovely café just up the road by the traffic lights (Bar Gianno) where we went for breakfast each day. You can then either walk down the hill into Florence, or carry on past the café (about 75m) to the number 11 bus stop, which takes you into central Florence. Bus tickets can be bought in the café and you need to stamp them in the machine on the bus when you get on. We usually caught the bus back as it's slightly uphill. There are several restaurants within walking distance, or numerous back in the centre. We would highly recommend Villa Lia for those who don't want to be right in the middle of the City, but within comfortable walking distance.
- Graeme (10/5): Our stay was excellent, I would highly recommend staying at Villa Lia. - The property was very comfortable. There was plenty of room for our group of 7. Barbara answered any questions we had quickly. The pool, more a splash pool was perfect for sitting in and having a drink after a long day exploring Florence. 7 adults had no problem sitting in there all together. It was perfect! Nothing
- Saoumya (9/5): Superb -
- Pope (8/5): Beautiful location, spacious apartment for leisurely stay in Florence. - Lots of space for our group of 7! Barbara was immediately responsive via WhatsApp texts, though we never met her in person; she sends the gate code/front door code the day of your arrival. Charming apartment comfortably decorated with a fully equipped kitchen. The neighborhood is gorgeous, with a bar/cafe (great pastries, cappuccini and Aperol spritzes) and bus stop about a block away. Bus tickets can be bought at this cafe, too; take the 11 bus to get to the main tourist area of the city, and be sure to stamp your ticket at the machine at the front of the bus when you get on. Official ticket checkers boarded a bus we were on one morning and we watched him give a fine to a passenger whose ticket wasn't properly in order. We enjoyed the ~1-mile, gently downhill walk to the main part of the city most days, however, as well as the 1.5-mile, virtually flat walk to San Miniato al Monte and Piazzale Michelangelo on wide, tree-lined sidewalks. Highly recommend taking in the sunrise view from Piazzale Michelangelo one morning! There are several restaurants less than a mile away, which we walked to as well. Chalet Fontana is a gourmet-style restaurant with beautiful garden seating and only .25 miles (5-minute walk) away. Pizzerias and trattorias Barbara recommended are also good recos and located about .8 miles away. Parking in front of the villa was ample, but we don't love navigating the narrow roads and parallel parking you encounter throughout Florence, so we left the car parked the whole week and opted for walks/bus rides. Very minor issues that could easily be resolved: The entrance to the property is not located at the address listed on reservation documents, but at the next gate over (to the left), so this resulted in a little confusion upon arrival. Also, it took a minute to locate the button that buzzes you out of the gate to exit the property (it's about two feet away from the left side of the gate). The faucet in one of the bathrooms and the radiators in a couple of locations were dripping. No handsoap in most bathrooms (we bought some liquid soap dispensers and left them there so I hope that issue is resolved!). No apparent dish towels in the kitchen. No trash can in one of the bed/bathroom combos. The apartment occupies the full second level of the house and the first level of the house is under renovation so there were a few instances where we could hear that activity, but it wasn't disruptive. This note has been reported before, but advertising a "pool" is misleading. It's more like what we call a kiddie pool in the U.S. Not a proper swimming pool, but we weren't interested in the pool anyway so it didn't affect our experience.
- Hodgins (10/5): Lovely Villa within the leafy suburbs. - Liked the fact that we were outside of the busyness of the city. The Villa was lovely with a nice garden for the kids to run around in. The ease of the Bus stop near by made it very easy to get to the city within minutes. nothing , everything was wonderful
- Stanley (7/5): Good - The accommodation is spacious, facilities are good The entrance is not good, road side parking, top many staircase, elevator not working, air conditioning is controlled by owner, it is OFF after 10pm and pretty cold if u are not sleeping and staying up late.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Louise (10/5): Excellent apartment, good location ! Felt very luxurious -
- Thomas (5/5): Felt stranded in an inconvenient neighborhood. Bugs on windowsills!~ - This is an apt, not a villa. We did not have access to the garden or the pool. It is not convenient to historic district as listed/. It is almost an hour's walk away through an uninteresting residential neighborhood. There are no services nearby, no cafes, grocery stores etc. Main transportation is by expensive taXi. There were many dead bugs on the windowsill of one of the bedrooms. Nobody met us when we arrived. Someone texted door code, but not gate code. We had to pick our way through a cluttered garage to get in, and later got yelled at because of that.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Exceptional -
