Guest Reviews
- Carroll (8/5): - Nature A little spooky!!
- jennifer (9/5): Stay here! The best accommodation for price in the lower Yorke! - Perfect place to stay at Innes. A cosy well appointed house with the comfiest bed and excellent cooking facilities. Nothing
- Gary (9/5): Wonderful - Location The flies
- Thomas (9/5): Wildlife, walks, dramatic coastlines, the vast open sky and the sea… so good! - What a fabulous location! We stayed for three nights and would happily have stayed longer. Two of the three nights we had the whole town to ourselves. The building is heritage and rustic. It’s not fancy accommodation, but the location, the history, the isolation and the landscape make it an extraordinary place to be. Wildlife, walks, dramatic coastlines, the vast open sky and the sea… so good!

- Peter (9/5): History and Wildlife - Quiet location in a beautiful national park. Didn't have a tv and flies and mosies pesky.
- Lindsay (9/5): -
- Robert (8/5): Overall a great stay, should stay a minimum of 3 night - especially for photography. - Location was, provided easy access to the sights within the National Park. The only issue we had was a tissue found in what was a roughly made bed.
- Matt (9/5): Superb -
- Mike (10/5): Amazing National Park Experience - It's location in a ghost town in a National Park was absolutely amazing with wallabies grazing outside in the evenings & kangaroos in the morning It was a little basic but it's location more than made up for that.
- Jayashanka (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rickard (10/5): A great, quiet location with nature on your doorstep. - The location and isolation
- Danielle (9/5): We enjoyed the time away from the rat race and were able to reset - being secluded was lovely, very peaceful although there are signs to advise people to be mindful of others staying in the property, some we defintely not.
with no tv or signal, it would be nice to have some books or magazines or somethng else to provide some entertainment/ activity
the bed was quite soft
the minimum requirement for 2 nights booking, we only needed one night and were there for less than 20 hrs total
- Lynne (10/5): Memorable and unique - Being able to stay in such a historic placce
- Venessa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cheryl (8/5): Unique and special place to visit. The national park shoreline in incredibly beautiful - The location is very special being within an historic village. For most of our stay we were the only guests so the experience was quite unique and special - at one with nature and very peaceful. The local Tammar wallabies have been well-trained. We had to depart pre-dawn and driving out we encountered a wallaby sitting dead centre on the main (bitumen) access road. The wallaby, now in the full glare of our headlights, sat quite still and let us pass uninterrupted on 'our' side of the road. Thank God for the 40km/ph speed limit. If you are staying in a residence at Inneston Historic Village you will find the collection of keys at the National Park office is fine if you arrive in daylight hours. But if you arrive after dark - or leave before dawn - the key lock cabinet presents problems. The outside light does illuminate the wall where the key cabinet is located - but does not illuminate inside the key cabinet itself. The buttons you need to press in the keylock are black, very small and hard to read in the dark. A torch is highly recommended..
- Jeff (10/5): Extent - Great place 👍
- Michelle (9/5): Great for nature lovers - The location right in the national park was amazing. We saw beautiful sunsets and sunrises as well as lots of wildlife. We could also easily drive to nearby walks and beaches. The accommodation was so authentically restored that several people thought it was an actual post office and walked right in! Some clearer signage would be good.
- Sherryl (8/5): An enjoyable stay in a perfect park setting: 5 Tamar wallabies regularly visited the cottage at dusk. - Clean comfortable and well suited for 2 people
- Darrell (9/5): Great Spot to get away from it all and enjoy the native wildlife, roos and emus - Peaceful Location few others about only daytrippers Limited phone coverage
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Very good - The national park & walks Not much
- Kaisha (8/5): Very good - I enjoyed how remote the Lodge is, and the wildlife on the doorstep. I saw a wallaby four the first time! The 'off grid' experience was wonderful - electricity and hot running water, but no internet, no phone reception (telstra/optus), and no TV. My partner wasn't much of a fan of this, but to each their own. Be prepared for wildlife - we were woken by a currawong chasing bees on the tin roof, I was delighted, my partner wasn't, ha ha.
- Swee (8/5): Very good -
- Flynn (9/5): Superb -
- Hilary (9/5): Lovely experience - Lovely quiet little cottage in an isolated setting. Nothing to hear but birdsong. Visited by kangaroos and emu with chicks regularly. Good position within the park to access walks and the fabulous views. Cottage well equipped and comfortable.
- Leonie (9/5): Superb -
