Guest Reviews
- McCulloch (10/5): -
- Nehalkumar (9/5): - Good house and it's facilities. Location is good.
- Jan (10/5): -
- Clarke (3/5): Very disappointed. - The property was unclean ..dirty floors, sticky table, worn furniture in need of replacing .
- Jennifer (9/5): Staying in Kalbarri highly recommended - this property is great for families/groups - Loved the quiet location, the roomy indoors and large modern well equipped kitchen upstairs with ocean view. Because one of us has difficulty with flights of stairs, we were a bit nervous about the elevated living area before booking but they managed the external stairs surprisingly well, with help. The upstairs lounge furniture was comfortably worn and homely. Upstairs there is also a modern ensuite off main bedroom, 2 other bedrooms, sleeping 7 total and a separate toilet. Downstairs there is a bedroom sleeping 3 and a combined laundry/shower room (with pegs but no bath- BYO laundry detergent) plus a large man cave with TV, billiard table, darts etc. We also loved watching the pelican feeding, especially "Naughty Boy" penguin's antics. And the bakery near the jetty! Thankfully we brought our own bathroom supplies - it would have been nice to have had handwash supplied, we left some for the next tenants. We were used to living out of a suitcase on our road trip but we would recommend in each bedroom for those staying for more than a few days, having somewhere to hang a few clothes up eg wall hooks and drawers for clothes storage.
- Keegan (8/5): Can't wait to stay there again. - Loved the sunsets over the water from the kitchen window. No light over the dining room table.
Spiral staircase.

- Martin (9/5): Loved it - Overall it was a pleasant stay, all went well took a while to work out the appliances but once familiar it was good .
Kalbarri lost power for a while early one morning , wondered why I had a cold shower Ha, Ha , but it came back on After breakfast . It happens š
We used the BBQ too cook breakfast that day .This did need a clean but we sorted it . I wouldnāt say didnāt like . Iād say just didnāt realise / may require improvement / just letting you know
Didnāt realise : that the sprinklers come on Fridayās so my washing got wet on the line .no big deal
Just letting you know: when first arrived , that main / master bedroom wall had a dent in the plasterboard Iām assuming you know it was already there .
Just letting you know : that the two internal sliding doors arenāt sitting in there guide on the floor Track .
And the upstairs sliding door has come off its track all together .
These are just somethings I noticed after I seen the damage to the bedroom wall.
May require improvement : āup to you of courseā re locate clothes line too back of house (Games room side)
Provide a key to up stairs back door ie (didnāt seam too find one that fits.)
Overall we loved your house and would definitely stay there again
Iād recommend your house to all my friends.
- Carolyn (7/5): Good - The house was spacious, and the games room was fantastic with a pool table and arcade console. It's a great location, walking distance to shops, beach and cafes. The kitchen was fully equipped. Tv's galore and the foxtel and wifi were a welcomed addition. Definitely would stay here again.
- Paula (7/5): Good -
- Rhianna (10/5): Amazing. Nothing short. - All the amenities. Could have done with some more dishwasher tablets, bin bags & dish clothes. But otherwise amazing.
- Con (9/5): Very nice, relaxed, definitely would book again. - Views, relaxed, space, games room No hand wash soap, and no spare toilet paperā¦at least 1 spare roll would have been plenty, had to go out and buy our own. Also only 2 dish tablets provided, maybe 2 more at least, there were 5 people staying for 6 nights.
Not that this is the property owners fault but the neighbours next door were so noisy, and theyāre dogs would be barking from 4:30am!!! I had to shout out the window at the owners to make them stop, they seemed not to care too much.
- Robert (8/5): Very relaxing and enjoyable - The spiral staircase was a little tricky. Not to great for the elderly but the outside stairs were handy The metal strip on the spiral stairs cut my daughters toe.
For the rest the comforts were excellent.
The washing machine the dishwasher the TVs and air-conditioning were all brilliant. Also the entertainment in the games room kept the children busy . The area was very quite and the view amazing.
- Ajay (4/5): Disappointing - Location The house is very dated with a lot of the furniture is in very poor condition.
One of the showers does not run properly.
I feel the cleaner done a very poor job of cleaning the property before we arrived , the dinning table was very sticky when we put something down on it .
The bed sheets are in a poor state .
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Albert (9/5): Superb -
- Gerard (8/5): Was as planned very restful - The game room was a good addition especially on bad weather day Was a per expectation
- Mary (2/5): Very spacious perfect for big families but cleanlines and responsive wise from the owner you cant count on them - Location wise It was good, close to shops ,Parks if you have kids like me, close to town and beach too, inside the house What I like is complete kitchen utensils, entertainment for family and kids and spacious, good wifi connection, great for big families. I feel safe this location. What I didn't like? Especially when we arrived
1. lack of lights especially on dining area we need to eat on the kitchen table, (imagine we are 7 people)overall the light in the kitchen, Dining and lounge area on the 2nd floor is deemed.
Even in the room is not working properly its blinking the whole time of our staying
2. Im not expecting a hotel vibes but at least decent because the linen doesn't smells good and clean and the rooms and beds are dusty even on the lounge thats why i need to vacuum them all
3. If you have toddlers like me the stairs inside the house is not safe for them because there is no gate to make them safe.
4. The owner is not responsive when I message her about our experience when we arrived And when we're running out of gas for hot water
The contact person that needs to be contacted posting in fridge is no longer connected to them 2yrs ago.
The caretaker of the house is not responsive as well you can receive a response on the next day
5. I considered this as worst experienced no hot water for 2 days considering we have toddlers
The gas has run out so they cant replace the tank asap because the caretaker is not living in kalbarri. So if there's any emergency they can't help you asap.
6. Kitchens utensils still sticky and oily
7. Bathrooms and toilet smell bad and not clean properly
- Danielle (10/5): Thank you Mandy! We had an amazing, very relaxing stay at this spacious property. Great value for the price, would love - Lots of space, excellent games room for the kids, who loved the pool table and arcade machine, and great for playing board games as a big group at night. Beautiful views from the living area/kitchen, and a short 10 min walk into town/shops. Our host Mandy was very helpful and accomodating: she was happy to let us park a caravan on site if friends were visiting (even though they didnāt end up coming)! Need to bring your own salt/pepper, and tea/coffee/sugar. We had all that with us, so werenāt really bothered. The indoor stairs are a very steep spiral, so older people with knee issues might find staying downstairs tricky. Also, the living room/kitchen is upstairs, so this property would be difficult for those requiring walking aids. Our group was fine though.
- Ussh (10/5): Exceptional - Came up for the weekend for the Kalbarri classic fishing comp the house was perfect heaps of room
Will hopefully stay again thanks family retreat
- Matt (9/5): Very relaxing thankyou very much - The separate zones. Loved the games room helped heaps with the younger kids. The shed door out the back bangs during the night
- Alagappan (7/5): Good - Indoor games, TV Sets in every room, Kitchen and appliances, Washing facilities, aprking etc., No Air Conditioner in one Bedroom (Down floor)
- Thetpaing (8/5): Very good - Nice place. Clean.
- Barry (8/5): Wonderful house for catching up with friends/family and making new memories - Spacious property with plenty of entertainment: tvs everywhere, foxtel, internet, pool table, darts etc Lovely breeze kept the place comfortable. Walking distance to foreshore. Great for a group of friends/family. Not a complaint; just need to know to bring some of the basics. Eg salt & pepper etc; glad wrap, tin foil etc; soap, shampoo etc
- Trevor (8/5): Great holiday stay with excellent inside facilities. - Location was good. Having wifi was terrific as very few houses to rent in Kalbarri have wifi. Kitchen supplies were fantastic - dishwasher, t-towels, detergent, sponge/scourer, microwave - and plenty of knives and forks, plates, glasses, pots and pans, bbq utensils etc. Having linen was also a bonus. Kalbarri Accommodation Service houses/units/apartments definitely skimp on many of these. Cancellation conditions were good, with full payment required one week out. KAS require full payment a month out with little room for reimbursement on cancellation. Nice grassy backyard As Kalbarri can be quite windy, there was limited space to sit outside out of the wind. If being picky, it was a 10-15 minute walk to the shops and beach - also. a light above the dining table would have made it easier to read the paper and eat dinner in the evening. But really, very little to complain about.
- Francine (10/5): Absolutely fantastic for a family holiday or group of friends, large space was perfect - We absolutely loved this property! plenty of room for the kids to run around and not be ontop of eachother! had everything we needed and was just perfect! The owners were lovely to deal with aswell!
- Steve (7/5): Once we settled in we were very comfortable and happy in the house. - There was more than enough space for our group of 4 adults. The kitchen and upstairs living/eating was spacious, especially with the balconies to enjoy as well.
The downstairs game room also provided us with an entertainment space. Not having stayed in a holiday house for sometime we were surprised at the lack of some basic ingredients in the kitchen (eg. s&p, a few tea bags, coffee and milk). Arriving late in the day we needed to do a quick dash to the supermarket to grab some supplies.
The bbq had a rusted through burner - still useable, but possibly not safe.
Very little hanging space for clothes and only 3 hangers supplied.
Some of the bedside lamp globes were not working.
No washing powder supplied in the laundry.
- Rodney (9/5): Superb -
- Belinda (9/5): We loved our time and will be back again - Awesome family room and plenty of space for the family. Big drive way with plenty of room for cars, boats, bikes etc
Convenient location,
Close for a bike ride or stroll down to jetty or beach Would like outside sitting area with shade and fly screens on the doors
- Sucy (9/5): Superb - Nice location and plenty of space Dining area lack lighting š
- Sal (9/5): Excellent place to share with friends and families. - There was EVERYTHING there we needed. The games room was great. TV channels and Foxtel were great. The rooms need a clothes hanger. The room with the modem and Foxtel in should be changed to another bathroom - guest of two bedrooms (possibly 6 people) have to go downstairs and share the laundry/bathroom with up to another 3 people.
Like all other guests, I agree it needs a light above the dinning table.
- Malan (9/5): Good house and facilities especially for larger family /group. . - Good kitchen. Space. The stairs (inside set) are a bit difficult to use and we preferred to use the outside set instead especially with the luggage.
- Rachel (8/5): Very good -
- Samantha (10/5): This place was epic! - Very spacious and great entertainment with the pool table Floors were creaking a bit but not badly
- Debra (9/5): Memories Are Made! - So much to do to relax, games room/bar a winner!Very suitable for extended family vacation. Comfortable in general, good air-con. Big ensuite, great double shower. Water pressure good and nice hot showers. Everything you need in a well equipped kitchen. Gas bottle was quickly refilled upon request. Single bed/top bunk in upstairs bedroom need mattresses replaced. Could do with mobile hanging trolley in 2 double bedrooms to hang clothes. Small table and couple of chairs on front upstairs verandah to chill out or even a hammock.
- George (9/5): Fishermen's paradise - Facilities were great and we could leave the boat hooked up to our vehicle NA
- Lorraine (5/5): great place, clean, just very tired looking. - loved the location. was very clean. we had a cockroach in the main bedroom and a cockroach in the downstairs bedroom though. loved the family room. felt a bit tired. blinds were stained and marked in the kitchen. big dents and scrapes on the wall. in the living area and no wardrobes in any of the bedrooms.
- Brenda (8/5): Roomy House With A Well-supplied Kitchen, A Combo Washer-Dryer, And Three Toilets - The house is roomy and in a quiet neighborhood. One can see the ocean and sunsets from the kitchen windows. The kitchen is well-supplied with cooking utensils, dishes, appliances, etc. There is both a stand-up freezer and a full refrigerator in the kitchen. The air conditioning worked very well (though one of the remote controls needed new batteries). There are three toilets in the house (two are in their own little rooms). We did our big load of laundry at the laundromat in town, but my husband washed and dried a shirt in the washing/drying machine in the house. (He was afraid the shirt would have a permanent stain if he didn't wash it right away.) The washing machine worked fine, though like other machines that do both washing and drying, it left the shirt more wrinkled than usual, so he had to iron it as well. (There are clotheslines outside and clothespins, for those who would prefer that.) I didn't meet the owner, but I did talk with her briefly twice on the phone. She seemed nice. Kangaroos come into the neighborhood and yard sometimes, which might not seem a "plus" to Australians but was a "plus" to us. The bed was too firm for me and could use a "mattress topper." Both queen beds seemed to be about the same firmness. (There are also two other bedrooms with beds mainly intended for kids, I think.) The circular staircase inside is narrow, so it is not easy to bring things up and down inside. The best way to bring suitcases up and down would be to use the outside back stairs. We just left our suitcases in the recreation room, rather than cart them upstairs to the bedrooms. There is a small room upstairs where one can hang clothes, but there were only four hangers. The shower temperature varied somewhat when my husband was using water elsewhere in the house but not otherwise. The shower pressure was good. (There is a very roomy shower with two showerheads upstairs, and another shower on the lower level.) There was a burnt-out light bulb in the lamp on my bedside table . (I left a note for the cleaners, so it is probably replaced now.) I wasn't sure if the microwave oven was working properly, since it seemed to stay on after the timer dinged. My husband thinks it was just the fan that stayed on after the time was up. The only reason I felt why the house did not meet my expectations was because of the firmness of the queen mattresses.
- Eric (10/5): It was brilliant - We really enjoyed the stay Could of had some shade at the rear of the property
- Kelly (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (8/5): Very good - The house was perfect for our family holiday. All adults- plenty of room. Games room was fantastic. Nothing really. Everything was as expected or better.
- Carole (9/5): Superb -
- Leslie (8/5): Very good -
