Guest Reviews
- Susan (9/5): - Beautiful cottage in a great location. Everything you could need in a home away from home. Beautifully presented, clean & tidy. The mattress in the main bedroom was super hard & uncomfortable & could do with a pillow top mattress topper on it.
- Wu (10/5): Great place! - Nice home with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Clean, nicely furnished, well-stocked.
- Tracey (7/5): Nice stay location good for Fremantle. - Location. Nice big living room. It needs an upgrade. Outside was very tired. No heating in one of the bedrooms. The single bed was uncomfortable because of the springs sticking up. The house was quite dusty too.
- Simon (9/5): Had a fantastic time! - We had no internet connection when we arrived, so it was a bit of a trial trying to find somewhere we could connect to the internet to log on to booking.com to get door code. Perhaps an information folder, providing information where nearest hospital is, what to do in an emergency i.e fire etc, instructions on how to use oven etc
- Captain Hall (10/5): Great location and well furnished - Well equipped, great location ,quiet and comfortable. Had everything you would need for self-catering. Would stay again , support service was excellent if you have any issues Second bedroom no aircon
- Paul (7/5): - Clean in side
Close to the pub
Good size Lack of air-conditioning in main bedroom
Outside dirty, table and chairs had cobwebs
Could not get tv to work, lots of remote controls some did not work. Light in 2nd bedroom did not work and bathroom. mirror in main bathroom too high. In freezer someone put a piece of capsule in the ice cubes
- Amber (10/5): -
- Miriam (9/5): Comfortable cottage in a quiet suburb, close enough to the centre of Fremantle. - Nice location
Had everything we needed
Nicely styled Would be good to have a lock on the main bathroom door
- Abby (7/5): - Location and style of property Needs some attention to small details.
- new batteries in remote
- fix dishwasher
-replace lightbulbs in living area
- fix leaking sink in en-suite
- Kenneth (10/5): - Quiet and spacious.
- Susan (5/5): Disappointing - Easy front door code access. Master bedroom had an ensuite, shower water pressure and temperature was good. Beds in bedrooms 1 and 2, although firm, were comfortable with clean linen, clean towels, Bedroom 2 was a lovely room with a fireplace and air conditioning. The bathrooms were clean with shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap were supplied. Spacious open plan kitchen, dining and living area at rear of house with air conditioning. Kitchen had large cooker and everything required with the exception of a coffee machine, only a plunger. Off street parking for 1 car. The booking is managed by a WA booking company, they charge immediately and separately, not through booking.com (confusing) and also hold a deposit. The company is not easy to talk to via the phone but do respond to email.
Front door patio and doormat were not clean, lots of dirt and cobs webs, needs new front door mat. Front courtyard outdoor table and chairs covered with cobwebs. The house had a slight odor on entering, maybe the last booking had a dog.
Appears to have only had a quick "refresh clean" in-between bookings, as there was thick dust under the beds, cobwebs in corners and around window interiors, dust on bedside lamps. Felt not clean.
Every wall was scratched or marked as was most of the furniture and benchtops are stained and scratched. The curtains in the living room were cheap and flimsy. The dining chairs were not clean. Lounge room lamp was crooked. The furniture was tired and/or cheap and flimsy.
The third bedroom's single bed was old and bouncy and there was a chunky dusty desk and office chair taking up alot of space unnecessarily.
The kitchen and bathroom tap water is not drinkable, not clear and tastes odd.
The back courtyard outdoor table and chairs were covered in cobwebs and the courtyard garden is overdue for a weed and tidy.
Overall, 114 Solomon Street cottage was tired, dusty, underwhelming and disappointing. There are not any special features to note. The property does not look like and photos on booking.com.
- Christopher (9/5): -
- Judy (8/5): -
- Zuhal (9/5): - Specious, beautiful, clean Mirror in main bathroom too high on the wall
- June (9/5): - The TV had no terrestrial reception and we had no access to Netflix or amazon prime it could be a lot more user friendly.
we had to use our phone to watch the news.
- Susan (10/5): Great clean well present property - Great facilities Nothing
- Annette (5/5): - Inside the house was clean and tidy. Kitchen well appointed. The property was advertised as having a BBQ and this was shown in one of the pictures, unfortunately there is not one there. I contacted booking.com and they confirmed it wasn’t available and have taken it off the listing. This was something we wanted. The hot water tap in the kitchen stopped working, only one dishwasher tablet was left for a 3 night stay. Light bulb needs replacing in the bathroom. Outside areas were unkept and overgrown. This was emailed to booking.com and I haven’t received a reply. Needs a light on the front porch
- Janiexox (8/5): - Location was excellent. Close to the venue for a wedding we were attending and just a short distance into the heart of Fremantle. Walking distance to a pub and cafes. Accommodation was comfortable and fitted out with everything we needed.
Easy access with a coded lock, so no problems with collecting keys etc. Accommodation needed some maintenance. We had a nice spring weather but the garden area was not inviting, so we didn't venture out at all. Very overgrown with weeds.
- Nur Hayati (7/5): -
- Deborah (9/5): Vaule for money and suitable for 5 guests. - Location was convenient, house relatively spacious. Kitchen well equipped. Staff were responsive when contacted. Property is a little old n dark, especially entrance not sure if there is light or it's faulty. Very inconvenient when returning after sunset. Floor also quite noise when we were walking.
- Muxian (10/5): -
- Emer (10/5): -
- Quiss (7/5): Excellent - The house is clean and fully equipped with everything we needed — very comfortable stay overall. The location is convenient and the surroundings are beautiful, which made our experience even better.
Especially appreciated the washing and drying machine — it really helped us during the trip. The only downside was the bathroom. The water didn’t drain properly during showers, so the floor got very wet. Also, the hot water was a bit unstable. Hopefully, these can be improved for future guests.
- Colina (10/5): Had a great time would stay again. - It was nice and quiet. 15-20 minute walk to everywhere or $8 uber if raining. 3rd bedroom bed a little small.
- Saoirse (10/5): Exceptional - liked the code door lock
- Lucy (10/5): Pure Fremantle excellence - Loved the decor
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional - Great house for a family group. The location is amazing too.
- Jan (8/5): We had an enjoyable stay the house is lovel and comfortable - Location was okay. The outdoor area needs a bit of care and tidying up. The gates need some mending.
- Emer (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious Shower curtain
- Suzie (8/5): The location of the cottage was its saving grace. - Perfect location. Well equipped. No instruction information. (Could not get stove to start. Light switches in living area a bit tricky.)
Hoot tap over kitchen sink would not turn on.
Bathroom mirror far too high.
Lack of off street parking for two small vehicles.
Mattresses very firm.
Shower in ensuite didn’t drain well (hence very dangerous wet floor after shower).
Lack of towel rails for bath towels.
- Leanne (8/5): The house is in a great location. Walking distance to the local pub and close to the centre of Frem - no breakfast provided The hot water tap in the kitchen was stuck, we could not turn it on so no hot water in the kitchen.
Mirrors in one bathroom and bedrooms were too high to see yourself, ( we are average sized people) .
There were about 4 remote controls for the TV we worked out which one to use however it was at times unresponsive unless pushed really hard & repetitively. Perhaps needs new batteries?
- Anne (6/5): May be okay for younger people not older ones like us - Nice street, convenient, easy access Beds were lumpy, house was old, kitchen taps hard to turn on, courtyard bricks covered with moss and accident waiting to happen. Lounges were really low.
- Lindsay (9/5): A charming home in an excellent location. - Excellent location, well equipped, charming interior. Outdoor spaces are unkept and neglected.
- Williams (8/5): Was overall a good stay - Location and charm Tv had a few issues wanting a log in. There was no dishwasher tablets/powder to use the dishwasher
- Adrianne (8/5): Enjoyed the stay. - Very quiet. Great living space. Having to phone three times to get security bond returned
- James (7/5): Good - location was fine needs New kitchen ware and maybe an air frier
- Wiebke (9/5): Perfect place, clean, well equipped, lots of space, comfy beds, you name it. We will be back!! - We had a great stay, a true home away from home! Clean, well equipped, great location. More than happy to recommend to others and to come back ourselves! We loved it all!
- Elizabeth (8/5): Quiet location in reach of the facilities of Freo. All practical details were smoothly operated. - The house was well maintained and met the description online. Internet reception proved tricky but the host responded to our message and sorted the data needed.
- Suebeez (9/5): Gorgeous and homey - Gorgeous little cottage, cozy and well equipped. Enjoyed a weekend with kids and grandson. Nicely located in a charming neighborhood. The common area was open and cool from A/C Could not get wifi working but we had data so not too bad. Also one bedroom of 3 has a/c.
- Ballard (9/5): Superb -
- Jacqueline (10/5): A place that you would retirn to....time and time again. - Quaint, well equipped, comfortable and excellent location.
Someone had put a lot of thought into all the little extra home comforts. Nothing, everything was perfect.
Lamp in 2nd bedroom on right doesnt work. Tried changing bulbs. Didn't matter, not a whinge, just heads up for you.
- Stephanie (9/5): Great stay, would recommend - Great location. Clean and tidy house with good facilities. Beds very comfortable. Outdoor area untidy - leaf litter.
Lounge sofa and chairs
- Agnes (7/5): location is great but house has to improve . - location is near to Fremantle and sea bay. convenient. We have 5 of us, the queen size bed is like super single so sleeping was uncomfortable. wall is too thin, could hear sounds from other rooms, toilet shower curtain was short in one and missing on the other. easily wet. disappointing that there is no bbq pit.
we need to do our cleaning & clear the rubbish - charges for not following instructions. this is our first time dealing with such instructions. not service oriented.
- Toni (9/5): We had a great stay at this property it was so close to town, cosy and comfortable. Kitchen was fantastic. Would definit - Close to town, cosy and comfortable. Nothing.
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lionel (9/5): very comfortable place and all my family members love. - easy to check it nothing all good
- Vicky (9/5): Superb -
- Frank (5/5): Location is great but the house requires a little TLC - Location Uncomfortable beds & lounge furniture
- Janet (8/5): Very good - Location was great
Quiet area
Ample space Winter - levered windows let in draught
- Sue (9/5): Superb - location & homely bathroom drainage could have been better & somewhere to hang your towels, clothes etc
- Commins (10/5): Exceptional - Rustic n modern mix, extremely well appointed. Nothing
- Grace (10/5): It was a very relaxing stay. - How quiet the area was, the big windows/door in the living area and that opened up into the courtyard, open plan in kitchen and living area, amenities in the kitchen, wifi for youtube on the tv screen. Close/walking distance to south fremantle food strip. Getting in and out of the main bathroom’s shower - needed a thick bath mat and handle as the edge of the bath lip was quite high and the floor was very slippery. the light switch didn’t work in the front room.
- Clare (8/5): Very good -
- Nicola (8/5): Very good - The spacious living and dining area worked well with our family reunion. The household bin was completely full when we arrived and we were unable to empty our rubbish.
- Kelly_patricia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kathryn (8/5): Good location and a comfortable and well set up house - Nice location and well equipped, comfortable property with good outside space
- Dajana (7/5): wonderful location and space. - beautiful location and garden. The front room with the open windows is beautiful. the floors were sticky, there was dust everywhere when you look closer.
