Guest Reviews
- Sophie (7/5): No staff present so can’t comment on that. House was clean and nice. Huge spiders on bed when we arrived so I was parano - Large and can sleep a few Huge spiders inside on the bed and in bathroom when we entered
- Lisa (5/5): It was ok - The location was great and the cottage was cute and quirky. We were firstly disappointed at the lack of consideration when our mum/grandma became unexpectedly ill and could not travel. Rather than offer some flexibility and allow us to change our booking to a time we could all come we were referred to the cancelation policy and advised they would not help. I feel that this is pure greed on the part of the property owner and management. But fine because it was policy and its not their problem if our mum is very ill.
The house is quirky and cute, gives European ski chalet vibes. But we found it was not well maintained. Clean on the surface but lots and lots of thick cobwebs. The polyester shower curtain was old and very moldy and stained and should have been replaced some time ago.
The grounds and gardens also nice but in need of upkeep. The pavers / cobblestones surrounding the property need leveling and I feel they would be dangerous to either young children or people with any kind of mobility challenges.
Overall this is another example, in our opinion, of an overpriced run down property on short term rental in Australia where the owners are raking in ridiculous amounts of income from tourists but not putting any of that money into the upkeep and cleaning. Disappointing for us. Others may be happy to settle for this.

- Regula (7/5): - tolles haus, eigentlich… nur, s/negatives etwas staubig und ich als allergikerin hatte reaktionen darauf, aber für „normale“ leite sicherlich toll.
- Jay Ruth (7/5): - The whole place was great, good location and close to Coles bay and Freycinet National park. The house was cozy and clean. We didn't have enough water on our last day so we weren't able to take a shower.
- Paul (6/5): -
- Edwina (6/5): Staff lovely and helpful. Great location - Comfortable beds Uncomfortable couch
Photos made it look newer than it was
Slightly dusty and cob webs up high
Only one bed made but staff helpful when we called and quickly came and fixed the issue
- Za Hoop (9/5): A relaxing stay. House is beautiful and spacious. - Very cosy and welcoming house. Has everything we needed. Peaceful and quiet location to relax with family and friends. Very spacious house. The Dog/pet flap door has no lock as it was a big door and we were concern if anyone will go through it in the night.
- Hodgson (6/5): -
- Toni (8/5): Comfort in prime location - Beautiful timber meets homely comforts. The gorgeous furnishings made starting in a pleasure. Everything we needed was at hand.
- Matt (9/5): Superb -
- Cody (7/5): Good - Good location in Coles Bay, can be used as a base for exploring the region.
Wouldn't recommend this place for families with elderly or young children as it's quite poorly designed upstairs - you have to duck under the sloped wall to get around the stairs and through to the only bathroom in the house (there is a powder room toilet on the ground floor).
Overall we thought the property was overpriced as it is showing its age and the layout is eclectic, verging on being a hindrance in some cases - the professional photos made a big difference to us booking it originally.
All that said, we did enjoy the stay, mostly due to the amazing Freycinet National Park region.
- Belinda (9/5): It was lovely! -
- Raymond (1/5): Bad - the style of the house was ok. But there is no water in this building when we arrived.
- Kaur (10/5): Very good - It’s very beautiful, boat shaped. The house was equipped with everything. I like the property a lot, just one thing - we got mosquitoes on second night, this could be because we might have left door open for some time. May be worth mentioning to guests, not to open doors for long and may be of some mosquitoes spray could be provided.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (9/5): Well equipped spacious accommodation - Spacious, well equipped, interesting architecture
- Kylie (8/5): Great Rustic House outside of Coles Bay. Very clean and spacious. - Rustic Place outside of Coles Bay, great garden and facilities.
- Joseph (8/5): Very good -
- Sylvia (7/5): Good -
- Océane (7/5): Beautiful wooden house - The house was amazingly beautiful and cozy, really feels like holiday.
Good location.
Spa bath & aircon was a bonus. Wifi didn’t work so we had to use our phone’s data.
For such a high price, we would expect to have shampoo and conditioner, we could not wash our hair for 2 days.
The shower tap wasn’t great (gets really hot & cold in seconds).
And the fact that we had to put all the bins out ourselves before we leave after paying $300/night wasn’t really fair.
- Nilakshi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clare (10/5): Would come back in a heartbeat - Beautiful house, lots of character More an fyi for anyone with toddlers, just be careful with the stairs
- Martin (10/5): Very comfortable and enjoyable stay - Great location, good layout and facilities. Well equiped Nothing
- Roger (8/5): Very good - The water ran out just before we were about to leave which was inconvenient.
- Glen (8/5): Great - Large great facilities and great location The couches were strangely uncomfortable we always felt like we were falling off the front? I’m not sure why it was strange. The shower head was also strange in that the water sprayed out not down, had to dance under it to get wet
- Shane (9/5): Fantastic holiday home, would definitely recommend - Couches weren’t very comfortable, but everything else was fantastic
- Alicia (8/5): Very good -
- Kristy (10/5): wonderful setting - so homely and welcoming. love the dog friendly beach just a few minutes away - everything
- Rebecca (10/5): stunning chalet-style house thats well located, for a fun and relaxing stay - The location couldn't have been more perfect, with the beach just a short walk away. It was close to shops and a few restaurants, a great base from which to explore Freycinet.
From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the attention to detail in every aspect of the house. The decor was beautifully rustic with a warm and cozy feel, while still being modern and comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything I could possibly need.
I also loved the outdoor space, which was the perfect spot to unwind with a glass of wine. The owners had clearly put a lot of thought into making the area comfortable and inviting, with outdoor furniture and a barbecue.
Overall, I would highly recommend this stunning chalet-style house to anyone looking for a cosy and relaxing stay in Freycinet, Tasmania. no extra towels
- Vinni (7/5): Good -
- Karen (7/5): Good - Lack of bedroom lighting
Bathroom mirrors
Couches
- Chang (8/5): Very good -
- Nina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Qian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (10/5): Well managed holiday house in Coles Bay region - Well managed holiday house in Coles Bay region. Pet friendly, the welcome note for our furbaby was particularly a nice touch. It was a cold arrival day but the aircon heating and some light music was already on when we arrived, really make you feel the warmth and hospitality. Not much. The main door lock/key was very old style, a bit of modernization would be nice (lol).
- Mun (8/5): Quaint cottage but has a number of architectural shortcomings. - The huge bathroom. The narrow stairs, the tight space at the top of the stairs. The step between the staircase landing and the living and dining rooms had cased missteps and can potentially result in serious injury.
