Guest Reviews
- Bessie (9/5): Lovely, clean and comfortable.. stunning views for miles! Highly recommend. -
- Tracy (10/5): Hoping to stay again. - Peaceful
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): We spent two nights but would have loved to stay longer. - Fantastic location and great amenities.
- Duc Lan (10/5): This was just a wonderful little get away for our family of four. The kids loved the backyard that over looked the Murra - The view was just amazing. Nothing. It was perfect.
- Dianne & Garry (10/5): - Nice roomy house and comfortable bed. Plenty of space out the back and nice views from the entertaining gazebo.
- Christine (8/5): We loved the house and gazebo views and appreciated the quietness of the setting. - Lovely range of cereal and condiments - too many green teas, no varieties of black teas, and no instant coffee.
Loved the location and set up of the house and the gazebo - enjoyed all the areas of the garden, the gazebo views were fantastic and the inside greenery and fish very relaxing area. Beds were very comfortable and overhead fans a bonus in the rooms.
Close to town - I would have walked in to town had we been staying longer. Certainly will be recommending the property. We didn't know how to start the BBQ - Being 3 single ladies hadn't ever had to start a gas bottle BBQ and no instructions.
Having the good supply of water in the house was great. Little noise, which did not disturb us from the trucks on the highway.
- leeanne (9/5): -
- David (8/5): Just what we were looking for - Thoughtfully stocked. Spectacular BBQ and view area
- Sheree (10/5): Second time staying at Neville's place, and we totally loved it. We will be back. -
- Brooke (10/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): Fully stocked house, made for outdoor entertaining - Neville was a great host with plenty of info ahead of and during the stay, plus some interesting history he's shared at the property. He was accessible over the phone for any queries. The house is just as pictured stocked with pretty much anything you might need. The standout is the outdoor area with fans, speakers and plenty of furniture and supplies to make for a great time outside. Whilst the pictures of the house are accurate. Ultimately it's an older house which means it's a little harder to keep out spiders/bugs. On a hot day we found a few critters making their way in.
- Dean (10/5): Perfection, far beyond high expectations, will return. - Far exceeded expectation sin every way imaginable, best stay I've had in all my years of travel. Perfect in every way.
- Emlyn (10/5): Very comfortable home with magnificent view of the Murray River. - Clean, comfortable and well appointed home. Plenty of entertainment areas in a pleasant garden. The river view from the large deck is exceptional.
Good, clear communication from the host who is a pleasure to deal with. Some vehicular noise from the highway when outdoors. Not an issue indoors.
- Alison (9/5): We’ll be back. - We loved to sit in the pergola in the evening and watch the river and birdlife. The kitchen was well appointed and it is a roomy house for a group.
- Jaime (10/5): - The location was perfect and the view over the river was amazing. The hosts had thought of all the little things that that you might need while on holiday.
- Kate (10/5): Beautiful property! Host communication and effort to make our stay carefree was truly appreciated. - Very simple instructions and very easy to find the lock box.
- Hannah (10/5): Awesome home away from home - Excellent kitchen facilities, comfortable bed and great shower, spacious house with room for the whole family, fantastic garden with plenty of seating options and fab BBQ set up and an amazing river view WiFi didn't connect to main TV, other TV in the dining area was fine, not a big issue
- Rebecca (8/5): -
- Tanya (10/5): - The beautiful house and the wonderful outside with the fantastic view
- Jan (10/5): -
- Renae (10/5): Thankyou for letting us stay at your beautiful home - Beautiful home and beautiful views, plenty of space for everyone Nothing we didn’t like, it’s was all amazing
- MS (10/5): Incredible views, lots of space and great for the dog. - There were stunning views of the river and plenty of space. Great we could bring the dog.
- Kayla (10/5): Had an amazing time! Weekend went by way too quick - I love the views the property brought! Was very peaceful. Loved the old style to the home and how every room had heating / cooling! The outside bathroom was also an amazing feature - Actual bed was comfy!!! The firepit area just needed a little extra clean up, but nothing major. Maybe make the area a bit more kid friendly for kids in the future. Just a minor thing. Plus the cleaner had cleaned some areas for example - not cleaning under the table runner that sits on the table. Again minor things - The pillows were a little too uncomfortable
- Sherryl (10/5): Absolutely fabulous place to stay! - Fabulous location and stunning views! The house had everything we need, it was lovely and cosy and well looked after!
Will definitely stay again. nothing
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (9/5): Cozy, relaxing, serene getaway by the firepit watching the pelicans float by! - The outdoor setting was exceptional! Stunning river views from the great large outdoor gazebo. Fire pit was an added bonus on a cold afternoon/evening. The second bathroom was very welcome adding to the exceptionally large main bathroom. Heating (and cooling) available in every room made for a warm and cozy winter stay. The second bed was a little too soft for our liking, but that’s it!!
- Wayne (10/5): Our river stay - An absolutely beautiful cottage style house with all the comforts of home. Everything was provided that you could possibly imagine and more, spectacular views and comfortable beds.. the house was exceptionally clean and well presented and had a real homely feel throughout. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone wanting to relax and unwind on the river.. Neville the host was very responsive to any questions we had via email and made our stay easy.. thankyou for the use of your beautiful house and we will definitely be returning one day in the near future..
Kindest regards,
Wayne, Lisa and family.
- Paul (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay using Riverview BnB as our base to visit Gluepot Reserve. - The location was as described in other reviews, awesome river views out the back and noise of semi trailers on the Sturt Highway throughout the night. We were that tired it didn’t bother us. Unfortunately I stubbed my toe on a couple of occasions due to the different floor levels.
- Hotdog71 (10/5): Charming slice of river land history - An exceptional experience. A very charming historic home, well appointed with thoughtful features throughout. Wonderful views with a cosy lounge and outdoor areas.
- Geoffrey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (10/5): This is an amazing spot with spectacular views - we didn’t want to leave! - The facilities are excellent - everything you need for a getaway, the hosts really have thought of everything from a well equipped barbecue area to plenty of pots/pans/crockery etc in the kitchen, Nespresso coffee machine, aircon in every room… the list goes on. It is hard to spend time inside though when the views from the back deck are so incredible! We enjoyed every aspect of our stay - thank you Neville!
- Kym (10/5): Exceptional - Simply.the perfect location , amazing hosts who are always responsive and helpful. The property lacks nothing for a perfect family get away on the river. The gazebo out the back is simply.tje perfect place to watch the river and unwind from city life. This was our second visit and hope to return again Nothing...just perfect
- Scarce (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful home with exceptional view. Beds were very comfortable and the host was very responsive and friendly.
- Cedrik (9/5): Superb -
- Emlyn (9/5): Very happy with this comfortable property with stunning river views. - Comfortable home. Very clean.
Outside entertainment area is excellent and the view of the river is fantastic.
Excellent communication from the owner. The welcome goodies were a very nice touch. Some traffic noise from main road but then we were aware of proximity when booking.
- Margaret (8/5): Very good - Absolutely everything you need and wonderful view
- Anthony (9/5): A great place to stay and would have been fabulous except for inclement weather on arrival. - The view out the back over the river.
Privacy and quiet (some traffic noise from the highway)
Lovely Mediterranean feel with colors and design
Undercover parking
- Aleisha (10/5): Perfect!!! - Pulling into this beautiful property we haven't even got into the house and my husband and I were talking about selling up and moving to a place like this. The views and tranquillity had us sold already. The outdoor area is set up beautifully and thoughtful, maximising the views and entertaining space.
Once we finally got into the house the charm and set up had us completely relaxed.
Travelling with 2 young children and 2 little dogs it was perfect for our needs. Clean, spacious and equipped with all we may need for our stay. The Host has been excellent with communication and I feel confident that if we needed any information or had any issues we would get a prompt and kind reply.
We will definitely be staying again!
- Janine (9/5): Great place to stay -
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (9/5): We had an enjoyable stay & definately would recommend to friends - Everything was there, it was home away from home. Lovey ambiance about the property as soon as you walked in. For a couple in our age (60s) the seating in the lounge room could be upgraded for mobility & comfort
- Lin (9/5): Superb - The location above the river was amazing for watching the birds come and go and it was just a short drive to supermarket and butcher. We needed more time to enjoy Waikerie!
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheree (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suzanne (10/5): perfect Accomodation 💕 - the accomodation was perfect. Beds comfortable. host thought of everything we might need. well equipped.outdoor eating looking over the Murray river was spectacular. we loved everything.
plenty of undercover parking for our bikes and kayaks
Neville the host -Brilliant well done . Highly recommended stay
- Kate (10/5): Peaceful relaxing wholesome amazing trip away :) - Beautiful big property, stories from the family on wall all super interesting, warm homely feel from the whole place :) amazing views from the entertaining area :) also fantastic because we got to bring our dog so the whole family was together :) I loved everything about it
- Parsons (9/5): Superb -
- Frehd (10/5): Loved our stay and can’t wait to return! - The outdoor entertaining pergola that overlooks the river is a highlight! The house itself is comfortable and feels like home.
- Brenda (9/5): Absolute bliss - The view from the pergola above the river. The house is very well appointed. Has everything. Having to leave
- Sparrow (10/5): Stunning view and stunning house - Everything Shower was a bit dodgy but the owner got it fixed for us
- Kylie (10/5): Very noice! Would stay again! Amazing views! - Fantastic property and great value! Plenty of spaces to hang out. Fans and air-conditioning in every room.
Cute fish pond. Loved the family heritage in the house.
The kitchen is big, loved using the big oven! Laundry facilities if needed.
2nd fridge in the back room we turned on and used.
We did a day trip to Renmark, went to the Woolshed Brewery in Murtho and popped into op shops on the way.
Great BBQ facilities under the rotunda and the fantastic view of the river!
Love the poo with a view too! Normal wear and tear for the age of the home.
The weather was over 30+ degrees when we went, unfortunately it was too hot to be outside comfortably. We would love to see it in Winter with the fire pit.
There are fans under the rotunda but when cooking the BBQ it heats up a lot.
The place would be perfect when they put in a second shower as we had to juggle 6 people. Also, a dishwasher would be awesome, not a big deal having to do dishes by hand for a few days though.
The kitchen is very well equipped but knifes seemed to be blunt even after trying to sharpen them.
A vacuum cleaner accessible might be handy, used the broom and dust pan.
Had to buy additional boxed water, not a big deal, only $4 from the local Foodland. It was nice keeping one in the back fridge.
Would have loved to stay for 5 nights instead of 3.
- Lee (10/5): Great weekend - Absolutely stunning views from the deck, straight over the river.
The house is comfortable with plenty of room.
Photos do not do it justice. That I don't live there 😁
- Cherena (10/5): Exceptional - I liked Absolutely everything from the very second I drove into this property, it's honestly the best rental holiday house I've been too
- Mara (9/5): We had a great time in Waikerie mostly spending time looking at the view from the back deck! - The view is spectacular at the Riverview BnB
- Linda (10/5): Perfect gorgeous cottage! - The location, the rotunda, the old world charm of the cottage. It was spotless. It had everything you needed from condiments, milk, all the pots n pans you could ask for. The rotunda's outdoor kitchen was awesome too..overlooking the river. Did i mention the fernery with fishpond a beautiful spot for breakfast. Just LOVED this place...exceptional value for the price. The owner was lovely to deal with to. 10/10 No ceiling fans in rotunda.
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yani (10/5): Relaxing and enjoyable for a family of 5 - How clean comfortable and spacious it was. Good location We loved the property and the war memorabilia. The only thing I would suggest is possibly putting locks on the cupboards so little toddlers cannot try and open it up to get to the fine china. Other then that there is honestly nothing wrong :)
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zhen (8/5): Very good -
- Kylie (9/5): View from the deck with bar and BBQ is fantastic. - Very well equipped with everything you would need. Beds were extremely comfortable. Air conditioning in every room. Would like to have been able to let the cool evening air into the house but very few fly screens and some had holes. There were too many mosquitoes to leave a door open.
- Kym (10/5): Exceptional - The view from the gazebo was spectacular , the house was very spacious and comfy, the pics don't do this place justice. Excellent value for money, id recommend this place to anyone looking to experience the beauty of the river land and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. We will be back Nothing. Just perfect.
- Jayne (10/5): Absolutely amazing place to stay, the Best Private View off the River and BBQ facility's on decking. - It was a Beautiful Homely setting plenty off room, and Very Well Equipped, I will be recommending to all our family and friends, well worth the relaxing stay and the best view..... Amazing Place Well DONE Nothing Better Really. Was a few mini Ants on toilet paper in the outside Loo with a view, main bed was a bit uneven sloped on one side. But thats nothing to complain about really....trucks a bit noisy but you expect that near the Hwy..... The bed room 3 was a bit off a moldy odor , didnt bother us as not in that room, Nothing to complain about really, It was awesome.
- Tracey (8/5): Loved it, will be back💕 - Views, cleanliness….beautiful homely feeling …everything needed and extra in kitchen, outside loo
Outside ..great pergola area with bbq n bar, just watch young ones near edge Ant infest in back lawn, had 2,4 and 5 yr kids, purchased some ant powder so kids could play without getting bitten….
Home advertised all ages, suggestion some form of safety barrier, clear plastic
- Lesley (9/5): Superb -
- Maria (9/5): Superb -
- Melissa (9/5): Superb - Spectacular views!
- Phoebeblue (9/5): Location on the Murray was superb. Breakfasts on the deck and drinks around the fire pit at sunsets - The location on the Murray was superb. Breakfasts on the deck and drinks around the fire pit at sunset will stay in my memory a long while.. loved it
- Rebecca (8/5): Good house - Good view of the river, close to town centre
- Kim (9/5): Would be very keen to stay again. - Beautiful location. Very well organised and supplied. Friendly and informative host. A curtain in the main bedroom would have been good for a sleep in. But a very small issue overall.
- Gina (10/5): Beautiful spot right on the Murray. Quaint modernised house. - Location Few bits broken down but that’s to be expected in an old home
- Larice (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (10/5): Would love to come back. - Beautiful house in a lovely tranquil setting.
Probably the best equipped kitchen and house I've ever seen in a BnB.
It really feels like a home.
Gorgeous views over the river from the bbq and fire pit area.
- Faye (10/5): Had a wonderful time! Very relaxing listening to the sounds of the river. Plenty to see and do. - The house was fantastic! Smart Tv ready to put your personal subscriptions into. 3 toilets one with a view!! Hot powerful shower. Heating and aircon in every room. Huge oven and stove top. Laundry facilities. The out side facilities were excellent. Plenty of parking area. a lawn a magnificent fire pit area and a separate BBQ area called the TAJ has to be seen to be believed! Large outdoor table with plenty of seating, a sound system, beautiful lighting and big BBQ. The view over looking the river is 10/10. The Host was fantastic. Kept contact by message letting us know the details and asking if all was okay. WE will certainly be back! very very relaxing! The Riverland area has plenty to see and do! We especially enjoyed the wineries and Distilleries and buying some local produce. Everything was great!
- Rebecca (7/5): Good - Beautiful location with lovely views of the Murray. We loved spending time in the Taj.
The Nespresso was much appreciated.
Access to a washer and dryer was very handy.
The visitor information booklet was wonderful. We had no idea there were so many things to do in and around Waikerie!
Owners were lovely to communicate with. Two of us shared the accommodation and slept in one room. If we’d been sharing the house with other guests we would have been fighting over the best room…
The accommodation doesn’t have a dishwasher. A lot of the dishes in the cupboard were dirty/sticky. I appreciate that it’s likely a challenging property to manage and maintain but I had to thoroughly wash everything we used before use.
The place is loaded with Portuguese millipedes, which are an invasive pest. I’m sure they’re harmless but I really didn’t want to bring any home with me.
- Janine (10/5): We loved our stay and host Neville was very good . Loved the location too. - Did not realise breakfast was provided. No dishwasher and bathroom separated from house.
- Demis (9/5): Superb -
- Trevor (10/5): very relaxing ,will book again - everything
- Sukriti (10/5): Aweome mind blossom - The property was very well maintained and the host was very accomodating. The cottage had all the barbecue facilities and the bedding was great. It was a 10/10 trip. Will definitely visit again.
- Susanne (9/5): Nice cottage on the river - Good contact with owner and remedy of a couple of minor issues.
Great view over the river!
Main bed was very comfortable. Heating systems were good and the contents of the house were sufficient for our needs and there was tea and coffee etc. Thankyou for the firewood also. Traffic noise from the highway was disruptive to sleep.
- Tony (8/5): A comfortable and cosy house in a good location with a great spot to sit outside and enjoy the views - Good location, close to town but on the fringe. Great views from the backyard pavilion. Air conditioner/heater in the rooms made it very cosy on the cold nights. Spacious kitchen. Very comfortable space for the two of us. Close to the bakery!! Bed was very comfortable. If I am going to be picky -the lounge suite and chairs were very uncomfortable.
- Helen (10/5): A great BnB with amazing views. - The BnB was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The provisions of breakfast, wine, choccies and a cheese platter was a lovely surprise. The view of the Murray River from the rear of the property was amazing. We loved the fire pit and the huge gazebo too. The double bed in bedroom 2 was a bit small for us, but a minor issue compared to the rest of our lovely stay.
- Anne (9/5): Superb -
- Vanessa (9/5): Perfect location - The location was defined, Neville the owner was lively and more then accomdating. Lovely cottage and fully furnished and equipped just bring your bags and food No complaints
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Alex (10/5): Easy to find Excellent views very accomodating Our Woolowrth delivery made it easy -
- Gary (9/5): Superb -
- Norman (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay and the wonderful outlook over the mighty Murray - Breakfast of bacon and eggs and nibble tray plus wine was a very nice surprise
- Anneke (9/5): Superb - The gazebo on the river' bank marvellous views of the river. Bathroom separate from the house.
- Dawn (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (9/5): Superb - Great location. Interesting old home. Everything you need for a short stay. Fire pit area has spectacular views.
- Mike (9/5): Really enjoyable and would strongly recommend to friends. - Excellant location and great views' Traffic a bit noisy but would not put us off staying again.
- Peter (9/5): A gem in Waikerie - Location was excellent. Accommodation was clean, modern kitchen and bathroom facilities and bed was very comfortable. Plenty of room outside and gardens were neat and tidy. Deck overlooking the river was outstanding with bbq facilities. Nothing.
- Deb (9/5): The view was worth a million dollars, and the rest was so relaxing and comforting like home - All was excellent The view
- Mel (9/5): Absolutely loved it . will definitely book again - the views were spectacular and the property in the perfect location overlooking the river only thing I can pick is maybe needing a few more items in the kitchen like salad bowls and a potato peeler
- Kerrilyn (10/5): The outdoor pergola area is amazing. Great views. Large area that is equipped with everything you ne - Accommodation had everything we needed. Excellent location. Neville was the perfect host. Answered any questions and went through everything with us. Will definitely recommend Riverview BnB. We will be back.
- Sally (9/5): Superb - Spectacular views and facilities to enjoy them by do not disappoint. They are excellent.
Had a relaxing time enjoying the views and watching the Birdlife.
Will be back 😊 There was some road noise but the views and the singing birds make them disappear.
- Jacqui (8/5): Very good -
- Natalie (8/5): Beautiful views of the river - Nice location and beautiful views. Deck area over looking the river is a great place to relax. Big kitchen with large fridge/freezer. Lots of parking space. Not far from the town and just a short walk to Newland Bakery. Aircon in the bedrooms would be great (it was 42C the days we stayed and the bedrooms had difficulty receiving cool air from the lounge & kitchen units).
- Maureen (5/5): Very disappointed with the property, it didn't live up to expectations. Grossly overpriced for what we received. W - View was spectacular, two bedrooms were comfortable, main part of the home was cool. Outside bathroom and toilet, the shower cubicle was dirty, property not fenced along the cliff, too much furniture in the kitchen, lounge and passage. Lounge suite had torn covers. Third bedroom was too hot to sleep in and didn't have a door - we made a bed in the lounge for our grandson. Back door didn't feel secure. Unsure what breakfast was supplied, ate out for breakfast. Shed outside the back door and messy garage spoil the size and view of the back yard, ( selling point of the home). The information folder needed to be less tatty!
