Guest Reviews
- Amanda (8/5): -
- Ajeesh Philip John (10/5): - The view and the rooms very cozy and nice. Pretty much nothing.
- ArtM (8/5): Tranquil and relaxing. - The location provided a great view of the St. Lawrence and it has a nice beach. Lack of toilet paper, easily rectified.
- Evelyne (7/5): Bel emplacement - L'emplacement est super. Plage privée. Calme. Appartement doit être rénové, cuisine en mauvais état et pas assez bien équipé, vieille cafetière.
Isolation phonique pas terrible.
- Suhel (10/5): It was a great experience staying at this cottage.location is superb, very clean - Amazing location by the water,.quiet,. private with all amenities expected in a cottage
- Muhammed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Timothy (9/5): Superb -
- Tom (9/5): We loved our stay and will definitely return to rent again one day! - We liked the location the most, perfect dock for our boat. The tv cable box wasn’t working g so we didn’t have a television the whole time. But, I actually think that was good thing too! Also, I thought there would be cleaning products available, I couldn’t mop or wipe down sinks etc.
- Jianqiu (8/5): Very good -
- Eunjung (9/5): Superb - Nice private beach. Need to kayak!!
- Jigar (10/5): A wonderful 2 night stay in the gananoque..we had booked 2 bedroom suite and both the rooms were spacious and clean. Thi - Location, spacious rooms, private beach Can arrange for toiletries?
- Raju (8/5): Very good - The location was amazing. Great river-facing property with a beautiful lawn and deck too. We enjoyed the firepit and barbeque. We all enjoyed the trip and the stay definitely was a key part of it Due to the location and weather, there were quite a lot of bugs and mosquitoes - which is fine. Also, this is a 2-bedroom suite accommodating two small families. Having 1 bathroom was a little inconvenient, especially since the bathroom is not in a common area, but rather attached to a bedroom.
- Niranjana (8/5): Family holiday - Stunning location, prompt replies from Lance the host of the property. There were even beach towels provided, which was a nice touch.
Nice and private location, easy access to the town. The furnishings are extremely dated. The bed and pillows are so hard/firm.
The windows and stairs were covered in cobwebs which unfortunately interfered with the beautiful view of the water.
There is no washing machine, it's hard to dry the wet clothes after a swim, no airers.
- Deborah (9/5): Very nice. We will visit again. - Location is PRIMO. I grew up in the 1000 Islands and love the river. No meals were included, but there is a fully furnished kitchen, linens, hand soap, dish soap, and even salt and pepper. It was quiet and cozy. Lance was attentive when I had a question, and resolved it in a timely manner. The weather! LOL...
I am used to a coffee pot, and there was not one there.
Only a Keurig. So, I went to McDonald's every morning to get coffee, as I did not have any pods.
I suppose I could have purchased some at Metro or No Frills!
- Charlotte (9/5): Spacious, gorgeous views, a haven of peace. - The Home of a Thousand Islands, was spacious, clean and well equipped. Such stunning views from the living room, large patio and private outdoor area. The new dock, was a delight. The communication between the owner and the staff was always quick, friendly and any issues that arose were quickly solved.
The space had more of a home away from home feel, than a cottage. Large bathrooms, plenty of cupboards, closets, a variety of seating areas lazy boys and an abundance of slippers.
There's a great BBQ for outdoor cooking and several fire pits that were wonderful to sit at under the stars. Wood and anything you can think of can be purchased in town (5 min drive). If you like art, the OCONNOR gallery on the high street is well worth the visit. Renting a canoe was easy, and much cheaper than the offers in town. I travelled with my elderly parents, teenage son and husband. We all had plenty of space. The ample cupboards in the kitchens, blocked the view to the lake, but such a minor detail, that may be renovated in the future. As we had days of rain, a smart tv would have been great, but we made use of the computer to entertain our older guests. (There was cable TV, but my dad only watches war films, so needed access to a streaming service).
- Ruth (1/5): Read all the reviews before you consider booking. We moved out as soon as soon as we could find another place to stay. - The location and views are outstanding. Excellent quality towels were provided. The owner was responsive and apologetic and quickly refunded our unused night. The ground floor flat photos do not represent the reality of the flat, which is extremely dark and not a pleasant environment to stay in. As well as a lack of lighting, there’s a mouldy smell, old and damaged furniture and fittings, as well as disturbance from other flats. Other reviews mention these, as well as the inconvenient en suite, hot water issues, and unusually hard mattress. I wish we’d paid attention.
- Panna (10/5): Exceptional - Home of Thousand Islands is a perfect retreat. Its exceptional location, unforgettable experience, and the outstanding hosting by Lance make it a true gem. I highly recommend this destination for a rejuvenating getaway. I can't wait to return and relive the magic of this remarkable place.
- Andrew (7/5): Great location, great deal, helpful owner but not "luxury" - The location is fantastic - on the water, on the bike path and a quick drive to Gananoque. Enjoyed a fire in the fire pit ( bought wood at a nearby gas station). The owner was very responsive. The price is good compared to other places nearby. The mattress, although high quality, was much firmer than my wife and I have experienced on our extensive travels but our friends were good with it. We had challenges with enough hot water for more than one shower. The owner promised to look into it. This was a lower unit in a building of 4 units and we could definitely hear the guests in the other units but they went to bed before we did. The place is clean and functional but "luxury" does not come to mind. The decor is quite dated.
- Talnariu (8/5): Very good -
- Nancy (7/5): Very relaxing and fun - The house is big. There is plenty of space. We appreciated the air conditioning and the dehumidifier. Very quiet place and the view of the river is breathtaking. Looked like the property is poorly maintained. Many cobwebs on the exterior building and furniture and appliances are obsolete, broken. Several outdoor chairs around the fire broken. When we arrived, it smelled of humidity inside the house. We appreciated the dehumidifier and air conditioners which eliminated odors once we turned them on.
