Guest Reviews
- Mathew (9/5): It was really good and amazing. A small feedback is that a clock in the lounge room would be better. - Location
comfort
whatever we needed was there Nothing
- Neesha (8/5): - It was clean and had all the necessary facilities. Only 1 bathroom for number of people.
- Patricia (10/5): - The house is well located in Kingscote, walking distance to the shopping area and to pubs and a wine bar. There was off street parking for our car. The beds were very comfortable
- Saini (10/5): -
- Joanne (7/5): Comfortable and clean accommodation - Comfortable and clean. Property manager was helpful when called about looking house with no key! Internet was sketchy. Kept dropping out. There was no plug that fitted either the bathroom sink or the small bath. Was disappointed that the bath was only really suitable for small children as it was very small. Couldn’t have used it anyway as we couldn’t find a plug!
- Nikki (7/5): - Close to town and the coastal walk. Centrally located to access the different parts of the island.
Good bedroom sizes.
Nicely decorated and the kitchen has everything we needed. Older house which could do with some maintenance and removations. The backyard was good for the dog and washing, but not a space you would want to spend time in.
- Emmanuel (10/5): I had an amazing time with the family. - Peaceful Some doors did not close properly
- Kerrin (8/5): - Loved that the kitchen was fully equipped a d had a proper pantry including seasonings, alfoil/clingwrap, sugar etc. Didn't need to go out and buy these basics just for a couple of days use, and I wish more houses did this. Great WiFi available and streaming services so we could unwind with a movie at the end of a day of touring. There were plenty of spare blankets and cushions and a nice comfy couch. The beds were comfy with plenty of soft pillows and the linen and towels were soft and of excellent quality. The house was a little shabby looking in parts inside and could do with a coat of paint here and there to cover big, chunky chips and rusty bits but this is just aesthetics as the house itself was very clean. The screen door at the front is hard to open and close as it jams on the threshold so couldn't quite get it fully closed. The shower taps are difficult to manage as the cold water tap was very sensitive and only needed to be turned on by a few millimetres. Any more than that and the water would go from hot to completely cold and this was a little hard for my youngest child to manage because it only needed a little finger tap on it (rather than actually turning the tap by hand) to change the temperature by a lot.

- Jenni (9/5): Definitely recommend this property especially if you have pet. - Great value for money. Cosy and clean.
- Gai (8/5): -
- viola (5/5): Not happy - Close city centre House is on a slant
Driveway was very uneven
Bedding linen was little
No firewood for heater
The price paid was ridiculous for a week stay
- Michelle (9/5): Great location, clean and tidy, plenty of beds and bedding. - Location was good, plenty of spare blankets and towels and toiletries. I left a note as the water was leaking out of toilet cistern/bowl onto tile floor and pooling in right hand side corner. We cleaned it up a couple of times. Otherwise everything else was excellent.

- Oleksandra (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (7/5): Comfy Honey - The house was well maintained and nicely presented. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds very comfy. The backyard was so muddy that it was unusable, which was disappointing as the property was chosen because it had a backyard.
- Georgie (10/5): Wonderful, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. - Had everything we needed.
- Renee (7/5): Good -
- Harry (10/5): Highly recommend for this property as we loved to stay there and felt like home - House was close to everything
House was fully furnished with all utensils and equipment we needed for our use
Highly recommended There was nothing to go wrong
- Wai (9/5): Superb - Well equipped stand alone house, with 3 rooms 2 queen size bed and 4 bunk beds. Kitchen with stove, oven and microwave, and plenty of pots, pans, plates, bows, forks and spoons. Can foods are provided, and coffee machine with ample of coffee tablets, besides coffee and tea bags. Sitted on the hill, about 500 meter from the edge of the sea, walking at the seaside trail and enjoying the peaceful environment is soothing.
- Drew (9/5): Get in and relax - A wonderful retreat from the busy world here on KI. Very comfortable bedding and clean bathroom and floors. Staff were very good at communicating and made us feel welcome.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Carina (8/5): Everything you need in the heart of Kingscote - Nice house in a good location walking distance to shops etc. Older type house but was cosy and clean. It had pretty much everything we needed. Great comfy beds and good sized main bedrooms.
The only bad points were mould on the silicon/grouting in the bathroom and kitchen. The toilet was in a strange location in the laundry away from the bathroom (and bedrooms).. We also could have used another garbage bag as there were no spares available. BBQ and outside of windows could have done with a clean as well. The garden was a little bit sad with lots of cracking soil visible but there is little water available I think so probably that's why. These were only minor things and did not impact how good we felt in the house, however!
- Janet (5/5): Passable - None of the interior doors closed very well.
Not all windows would stay open
- Megan (9/5): We had a wonderful time at honey in KI. It is a lovely, comfortable and welcoming home. - Had everything we needed. Was homey and comfortable. Nothing.
- Julie (9/5): Comfortable older home in a residential neighborhood - The house is spacious with good natural lighting from the windows. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds are comfortable, and the washing machine is a real bonus. There is detergent, coffee, and some basic seasonings. A grocery store is a short drive away, walkable also if you don't have a car.
- Blake (5/5): Passable - Reasonable for the price and has all your basics price is suitable for the property. - no plug for bath and sinks except kitchen.
- not vacuumed under bed and couch etc. consequently makes me wonder about AC filter and such.
- not all windows had working locks and windows screens were poor and let bugs in.
- screen doors don’t lock.
- tap in bathroom washer is perishing leaks from cold tap when turned.
- vacuum cleaner has poor suction and was initially dead.
- Penny (6/5): Pleasant - Very Clean The kitchen taps need new washers as they drip (was annoying). Hot water needs looking at as it has air in the system or something.
- Paul (10/5): Relaxed place. No frills but it was all we needed. - Neat, clean, no frills, easy to find, central to everything.
- Becky (9/5): Superb - Was great location for our holiday cosy house and it was a quiet location
- Maria (7/5): Good - Close to town. Quiet street. Comfortable bed. Kitchen and bathroom taps leaked. Bit hard to turn off. Notified host.
- David (7/5): Nice stay on KI - Clean and comfortable. Especially liked that it had a washing machine. The taps in the bathroom and kitchen dripped constantly.
- Margaret (3/5): Poor - Clean sheets and towels. Christine was lovely, helpful and responsive. Weeds and grass in backyard was at knee height when we arrived, and the owner’s Ute was parked in the backyard. The BBQ had no gas. The house was too small for the number of beds. Not even lounge space, or even enough chairs or space at the table for the number of people the house supposedly accommodates. One bathroom and toilet for 8 people is inadequate.
- Kathleen (9/5): Superb - Very accommodating for children and for colder nights. Close to all the shops, had all the facilities needed to make us feel at home.
- Julie (9/5): Excellent would definitely recommend and want to stay here again - Comfortable homely spacious well thought out plenty of last minute supplies catered for that you don’t always think to park. Easy access to property and good location ample bedding for number of guests booked I think perhaps having a better ac system and. Supplying a dishwasher (no one wants to wash up on holiday) would’ve been great but only minor concerns really
- Kalyani (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grant (9/5): Honey on KI - a very pleasant stay. - Property was easy to locate and was a good location.
Key safe was easy to locate and easy to open.
Grandkids loved the bunk beds - must have been really comfortable as the slept in - a rarity!
Beds were comfortable and bedding was just right.
The property manager was great - gave us plenty of information on what to see, where to eat, etc.
- Appleton (4/5): Average bit in a good location - For reference this property didn’t have a bath as advertised and lacked basic inclusions such as hand soap in the toilet and spare towels that we had to source ourself. Be prepared for very basic inclusion
- Anonymous (9/5): Excelent location - The kitchen was comfy The cleaner under sofa
- Brazzalotto (9/5): Superb - Property was clean, tidy and comfortable. Really enjoyed the wood fireplace especially as it was cold weekend and the island lost power for a little while. Communication with hosts was great!
- Alma (4/5): Much to enjoy about our stay. - close to everything. Sloping floors throughout the house
Barbecue not cleaned for use.
Side gates would not close securely.
Everything seemed to run down hill including the tank and clothes line.
Even though we were not using the third bedroom, (nor paid for) it was left very untidy.
Both of us are in our eighties and we felt unstable walking throughout the house because of the slant.
Instructions for the coffee machine would have been nice.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - It was a great location and was nice to come back to a place and just chill on the couch. It was so cold in the bedrooms at night. I used about 4 blankets
- James (10/5): Exceptional - A very clean and comfortable stay,it had everything we needed
- Gizelle (3/5): Okay I guess - It had a great washing machine which was handy with two kids It wasn't overly clean, the facilities were dated but got the job done, there was mouse droppings, the floor is extremely uneven our toddler had a hard time navigating the ups and downs, the beds weren't even and banged on the wall everytime we turned over, it's extremely cold and the split system didn't do much to help.
- Judi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phone (10/5): Great, house, everything you need is there! - Great location, perfect for our needs Nothing
- Pieter (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very pleasant. - It is a homely place to be based and was comfortable with all we needed. Within walking distance to town and the coast. We appreciated the heater being turned on before we arrived. Made us feel welcome.
- James (5/5): Disappionted!!!! - location clean nines of the place and general condition. Cobwebs on windows, mouse droppings amongst toys, very dirty under the lounge . bed had no electric blankets which we think are a must in such an area.Lawns han not been mowed!
- Sue (8/5): Very comfortable and warm a great place to stay with the dogs and family. - Although fairly old it was clean and comfortable with everything. we need like bedding towels crockery. It was like being home and the dogs were happy and safe in the garden although the back garden was a bit muddy
The internet was fast which was great as I was working as well as travelling. Muddy back garden
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (8/5): Like having a home away from home - It was good
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Deanne (7/5): Our stay was enjoyable, although we were taken back in the appearance of our accommodation it served the purpose of prov - The house was within easy walking distance to restaurants, cafés and shops. The property is very dated and in need of some serious maintenance, particularly the floor which is very uneven. Although the property is clean ‘on the surface’ the exhaust fan, door frames, windows, blinds etc are very grubby. The property would benefit from a major clean.
- Maurice (6/5): As a base the property was satisfactory, but was not what was expected - a little dated. - Bedding all clean. Property is aged with living areas satisfactory (bedrooms good). Property needs a freshen up, cracking around internally. front screen door did not lock, second bedroom window - no fly screen (found it at the side of the house- screen torn).
- David (8/5): Very good - property was adequate with nothing outstanding. Facilities are clean, tidy, but a bit tired. Bathroom and toilet are adequate but nothing great. Bedrooms clean and comfortable. Living facilities ok. Kitchen - neat and tidy. Upgrade bathroom + add second bathroom if larger group of people, add a deck - but nothing major.
- Zhang (8/5): Nice and clean place - House is clean and comfortable for a group of 6. Very easy check-in, host provided lots of information before check in. Comfort Big bed, Big backyard, and plenty parking space. Close to the beach, but street view is average.
- Ratheesh (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (7/5): Good -
- Ben (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (7/5): Comfortable and well located. - The property was reasonably well equipped. Whilst it was self contained we decided not to cook but there appeared to be everything we would need if we had de died to do so. The property was due for a spring clean - there were biscuit pieces under the lounge From a previous occupant.
- Stefanie (8/5): Excellent location & great house, just needs a bit of maintenance. - Very comfortable & clean.
Well-equipped kitchen, could cook full meals easily.
Great location in central Kingscote.
Excellent water pressure.
Great TV with Netflix etc subscriptions. House needs a bit of maintenance - the laminate edging on the kitchen floor is sharp and could be dangerous for a crawling baby, overgrown weeds on the side of the property.
Only access is via stairs, which made it difficult to get the pram inside - this is not obvious from the listing/pictures.
Would be good to have a couple of board games, also would be better to have handwash at every sink (eg laundry sink where the toilet is)
- Sally (8/5): Tidy, clean house, central to all attractions! and pet friendly for medium to large dogs😃 - property was an older style house in need of some repairs, but comfortable enough for our family and dog to stay for the week🙂
great location, central to everything we needed to see! We thought that the mattresses could probably be changed out for something less hard, or mattress toppers.
- Lisa (9/5): Superb -
