There was nothing to not love about Candlebark, there are few places that we have stayed that we could make this statement about.

- Sue (10/5): - Beautiful setting.
Very comfortable.
Friendly & helpful host.
Interesting and scenic area, especially if you are interested in bushland plants. Native orchids and wildflowers were in bloom. Nil
- Wendy (10/5): A perfect cottage for a 4 night getaway! - Candlebark Retreat was just bliss!
Fleur and Digby have thought of absolutely everything and the cottage was a perfect place to use as a base for exploring the wonderful townships around Beechworth.
The birdlife in the trees around the cottage were varied and beautiful. Salty dropped by to say hello and check to see if we were settled in ok. To top off the trip the wine made onsite was perfect.. had to purchase a couple of bottles to enjoy later.
- Giulia (9/5): Clean and comfortable accommodation! - Perfect location for a country getaway
- Laura (10/5): -
- Murray (8/5): -
- Matthew (9/5): - A lovely quiet location surrounded by beautiful bush land looked after by the owners. Nothing
- Rabies52 (10/5): A quiet retreat from work & City and a base to explore Beechworth and surrounding areas - This cottage retreat is located a short scenic drive about 5km north of Beechworth just past the spectacular Woolshed Falls, on private property/vineyard with separate driveway to the cottage. The owner, Fleur advised key location and pre-heated the cottage for our arrival. The building is very roomy, equipped with everything you could possibly need and more (see photos) The hot water is hot, AC works very well, Internet is fast, bed and lounges are comfortable. Outside there is a modern BBQ, seating areas, fire pit and magnificent views. We used it to explore surrounding areas but also loved being in the cottage. We stayed 5 nights and did not want to leave! Nothing
- Nicole (10/5): Perfect, peaceful and restorative place for a break. - Beautiful and quiet bush location just outside Beechworth. Loved the cottage and views across Beechworth bush. Perfect getaway with lovely hosts. Nothing
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - It was in such a beautiful location. Had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. So peaceful and relaxing.
- Radnell (10/5): Exceptional - Perfectly cosy in such a beautiful quiet spot. Has a magnificent native garden with so many native birds.
- Roger (9/5): Excellent small home away from home. - A fabulous property in a secluded location. The serenity, beautiful surrounds and bird life were the favourite features. The small home was spotless. A small, equipped, kitchen and an outside bbq enabled meal preparation. Home produced, quality, wine was sampled and purchased. When you've stayed once, you will have the desire to return. Fleur visited to make sure that all was OK. (Affable and caring). All good.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kellie (10/5): Exceptional -

- Dale (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julian (9/5): Beautiful private getaway, surrounded by nature, beautiful gardens and birds. - Far enough away from the traffic, close enough to pop into town for supplies. Heaps of books to read, DVD collection was useful in wet weather. The visiting dog was adorable. Bed was very comfortable, water was clean. Heaps of seating areas under the eaves, trees, garden and a firepit for cooler times. The birdlife was lovely with golden whistlers, choughs, red browed finches, blue wrens, eastern rosellas, grey strike thrush. Slightly larger fridge would have been good, but not a problem.
- Jean (10/5): A piece of Paradise. - An exceptional experience. A beautiful cabin in a peaceful location with amazing views. A wonderful place to sit with a glass of wine and look out over the fields. Waking up to birdsong is also an additional bonus. Fleur is a wonderful hostess and visits from the dog Salty just add to the pleasure of staying at Candlebark. There are also many books - in fact so many books and not enough time - and DVDs to while away the hours if it's bad weather. Not a thing.
- Col (9/5): Ideal for a Quiet Getawy near Beechworth. - A very quiet and cleen cottage in a secluded location 6 kms from Beechworth. Our host was very friendly, and responded quickly to a small prblem with the smoke alarm - which was unavoidable at the time. Nothing to dislike about this property, and the hosts were very attantative when contacted durin our stay.

- George (10/5): Quiet, relaxing and comfortable. - The location was amazing, set amongst paddocks and trees with views of surrounding hills. The cabin was comfortable and well equipped. Easy to locate and close to Beechworth. The shower and kitchen were a little small, but understandable given the design of the cabin.

It was in a great spot, very serine and most relaxing. Just outside of Beechworth, so easy to get back to town when needed. Lots of spots to take advantage of the great views. Mobile data reception could be improved but I’m sure this is more to do with being in the country.
- Danny (10/5): A divine place to stay to explore the Indigo Valley. - Lovely cabin, beautiful location, great communication. Thankyou. The bed was a little hard.

- Liza (9/5): Superb -
- Cherylann (9/5): Superb - We loved the seclusion of the property away from busy Beechworth.
1 other thing I would like to add but wasn't major.
The bed size was queen and so was the doona. When your partner is a little bigger than you, and especially in Winter, it's nice to have a bit more doona to cover you. King Doona would have been better suited. What we didn't like was the weather, out of the hands of the property.
- Flavio (9/5): Superb -
- Marion (10/5): Shall return for longer next time - Home away from Home - Spacious cabin, private from home owners.
Peaceful and quite country location. Great kitchen facilities, hot showers and very good heating. Nothing to fault here!

- Alfred (10/5): Exceptional - The country air and wildlife It was nice and peaceful no crowds nice and quiet
- Keith (10/5): A great cottage environment - Great views in quiet rural setting. Had everything we could want and more!! Clean and spacious. Entry signage could be easier to see at night
- Caroline (9/5): Superb -
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional - Very peaceful, well equipped and comfortable.
- Vikki (10/5): If you are looking to get away to relax and unwind, come to Candlebark Retreat - Lovely property, easy access, great to meet Fleur, the horses and Salty the dog, so relaxing.
- Roger (10/5): Cosy, spacious house in the middle of nature near town - Everything from the warm welcome from Fleur, to the privacy, being totally surrounded by nature in a gorgeous house which had been supplied with everything you would need for comfort and convenience. Sitting on the veranda under the grape vine, listening to the birds was heaven. All within about a 5 minute drive to Beechworth. Nothing, except not staying longer.
- Paul (10/5): Candlebark Nature Retreat ☆☆☆☆☆ - Sooo quiet. Surrounded by nature and wildlife galore. Salty, the one-eyed dog, was a great companion. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable and had everything you needed. Water pressure in the shower was poor.
Limited internet connection.
