Guest Reviews
- Ella (8/5): - Nice feel in this cosy little cottage. Location convenient for us for Blackheath Choir Festival, with easy access to parking at railway station. Nowhere to put suitcase in smaller bedroom other than on floor. No clothes hanging space in larger bedroom. Took a while to work out heating despite detailed instructions.
- Susan (9/5): Superb - It was a classic Blue Mountains holiday cottage, like the ones we stayed in when I was a child.
- Marlene (10/5): Great place to stay for a trail runners weekend away .. - Great location..comfortable like your own home ..everything I needed was there ..my dog Trevor enjoyed his stay ,plenty of room for him to wonder ..it was amazingly quiet ,lots of beautiful bird life to watch That we had to go home so soon ..just asked my husband he said he’d like the lounge to be more comfortable 😆
- Nicole (7/5): A quirky, lovely cottage - Great location. Beautiful garden. It had a lovely ambience. Very cosy, and the bed was comfortable. As it was the Christmas period, the price was reasonable. Was great I could bring my dog. The owner was very helpful and responded to my enquiries very quickly. Very difficult to use the gas oven. In fact I couldn't light it regardless of the excellent instructions, so I was without an oven for the duration of the stay over Christmas. I didn't attempt to light the gas fire in the main living room. Overall, the house was clean, albeit a little tired with areas needing repair. However some areas were a little cluttered and there were too many cushions on the bed with limited space to move them. There was no availability for hanging clothes - the wardrobe and cabinet in the main bedroom were locked. The kitchen utensils ie. pots, pans and cutlery were stored in an untidy manner and the pots and pans were sub-par for cooking. There really wasn't practical parking in front of the property. I have a small car, so was able to fit into the limited area in front of the property on the side of the narrow road. Unfortunately my passenger side view mirror was tampered with during the last night of my stay, and resulted in damage causing expenses to repair. Even though I was grateful for the option of an earlier check-in, I do think the advertised check-in time is quite late - given the check out time is still 10am and given every property I have stayed in previously has a check in time of 2pm - in properties of similar size or larger and needing to be cleaned in between tenants. The property was advertised as pet friendly, however I was advised days before my arrival one of the fences were not secure. It wasn't an issue for my small dog thankfully, however it could be problematic for other pet owners.
- Sharelle (6/5): Pleasant location but cottage average - Good location. Complimentary wine & snacks on the first night. Bed comfortable. It was dusty, particularly the storeroom area. Hot water tank was too small & ran out. There’s is no way it would accommodate 4 people. It’s needs maintenance. Garden area very over grown
- Stephen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jenny (8/5): Cute, quiet and comfortable cottage. Close to Blackheath village. Dog had so much fun in the garden. - Excellent location. Walking distance to Blackheath village. Short drive to bushwalking trails. Comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Host provided good pantry & fridge items. Delighted that he also provided a bottle wine and Tim Tams. Enjoyed the room that had music CDs, games and books. Love the gas heater in the lounge room. Nice garden for dog to run around. The dusty & musty smell - which could be improved if there were windows that had fly screens to provide fresh air.
- Patricia (8/5): Very good - Loved the cottage it had lots of personality.
Very clean and was easy to navigate.
Rod Moran was easy to contact if we had questions. Maybe less pillows and cushions in the bedrooms.
- Brian (4/5): Disappointing -
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (8/5): Good spot close to shops - No people More firer alarms in the house
- Catherine (6/5): Enjoyed the area very much. Lots to do and see. Most restaurants were closed Monday night. - Good location. Quiet street Furniture fittings could be updated . Cleanliness of shower could be better . Lots of mould in the grout . Unused furniture pretty dusty Bedrooms were very comfortable. Cosy at night time with warm gas fires . I found it a bit expensive for an old weatherboard cottage . Photos look lovely but in reality the cottage needs a facelift if charging these prices. $344 per night for 2 people.
- Lancashirelass (8/5): Very good - The cottage has all amenities and is well furnished. Rod gave very good instructions for access and heating. The area is quiet but it is only a short walk to the shops and cafes. Nothing to dislike
