- Maggie (9/5): Unique experience - Wonderful heritage home. So big we kept getting lost in it!
Lovely environment to relax in. Very comfortable bed with quality linen.
we really enjoyed meeting the gorgeous dogs. No Wifi.

- Lainie (9/5): Absolutely delightful, relaxing and easy! - Our group loved everything about this property. It was just as we hoped and as advertised from this charming property and grounds.
Peter’s hospitality is genuine and generous.
We joined him for a BBQ dinner and his legendary wood fired pizzas.
A fifth generation winemaker whose passion for his craft and region is evident.
Highly recommended this property.
- Kymberley (10/5): Just a wonderful getaway! - It’s location was perfect. We had a beautiful welcome from the owner and the actual house was amazing!
The kitchen had everything we could have needed. Beds were so very comfy. It was just 10/10 all round! Absolutely nothing! We loved everything.
- Sally (8/5): It was a beautiful place and my families loved it. - It was great to have indoor fireplace! The host was very kind and the dogs were so cute, they love people so much! Everything met our expectations. The host home brewed wine taste very refreshing and love the Riesling & Moscato! It was a quite old building, so it explains the "old building smell" and there were some insects like cockroaches on the curtain and under a carpet.
- Martin (10/5): Great host and comfortable accomodation in a great location. - The host provided a delicious dinner and the accomodation was very comfortable. All good.
- Karsten (8/5): - Tolles,Erlebnis. Nichts

A special mention goes to Peter, the owner and host. He was absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure his guests had the best possible experience. Our conversations with him were a real highlight of the stay, and his hospitality made the whole visit even more memorable.
If you’re looking for a relaxing retreat surrounded by beautiful scenery, with a host who truly goes above and beyond, this is the place to be. Highly recommended! Everything was great

Don't take food with you they make amazing pizzas (even an amazing desert pizza) Peter is a very modest wine maker his Shiraz wine is amazing. Fully stocked bar also available with a well stocked pantry with fresh milk, bread, bacon and eggs.

- Valerie (10/5): Relaxing stay in a beautiful homestead close to the Barossa. Highly recommended. - Always wanted to stay in an old homestead in the Adelaide hills and Grand Cru ticked all the boxes. It was huge, facilities were fantastic specially the kitchen dining with the wood fire 🔥. Special touches such as the bacon, eggs and bread were appreciated. Loved the gardens. All in all perfect 🤩

- Mark (8/5): - It was comfortable and clean . Was nice walking the grounds in the sunshine and playing with the dogs. Seemed to be missing the washing machine but had a dryer.
- Catherine (10/5): Beautiful homestead, generous host, picturesque surrounds = perfect getaway. - We (a group of four sisters) were pleasantly surprised to have the choice of three different living areas to relax in while we shared precious time together. We loved the option to have a fire while knowing the central heating would have our backs toasty warm should we forget to stoke the flames. The homestead was beautifully decorated lending the feeling of being in a cosy home all the while being spacious. The kitchen was very well appointed. Our host, Peter was welcoming without being fussy and treated us to some delicious home made soup and bread rolls when we joined him at the cellar door for a complimentary glass of wine. The surrounding area was a picture perfect place to spend the day meandering and sampling the local produce. Zero

Our family stayed there for three nights and would have been very happy to stay for longer. The historic house is bursting with character - and spacious and comfortable. - Kelly (7/5): overall a great stay, no wifi is the only issue in that area, but sometimes its good to unplug :) - Breakfast provisions were excellent and more than expected
- Mike (9/5): Quirky and fun, and great host made it. - Interesting history and host, very friendly.
- Irene (9/5): Superb - It is a beautiful property, clean, comfortable and homely. Peter the owner was welcoming and over a glass of wine from his wine yard we had a nice chat. He also cooked the most delicious wood fired pizzas for us.
A very nice surprise was a fridge, stocked with eggs, bacon and other goodie’s for a real country breakfast. Thanks Peter for making our stay a special one. N/A
- Pat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (10/5): Beautiful location, very comfortable cottage - There were some extra touches that made the stay great.
There were plenty of provisions in the kitchen to made breakfast or potentially another meal.
The location is quite remote so it's a bonus that Peter has the option of purchasing a pizza from his pizza restaurant. Nothing
- Lynch (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent accommodation. The homestead and property is beautiful and very cosy. Peter is a wonderful host and we couldn't be happier with our stay
- Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (9/5): Superb - . .
- Darren (10/5): Clean, comfortable and homely, but didn't spend enough time at the property on this trip. - Lovely country location within easy reach in a car to surrounding towns. Homestead style property as shown in the photographs. Hosts very friendly, but do not impose. One of the two bathrooms is accessed by heading outside. Lovely bathroom, but need to be mindful in winter. Ultimately could use the inside bathroom (as it is identical) unless staying with friends and allocated one bathroom each. The inside bathroom is also at the other end of the house to the bedrooms. Not an issue, just need to be aware of this.
- Victoria (8/5): We very much enjoyed our stay but feel some time and money needs to be spent to lift the property to what it could be - The peace and lovely property The wildlife. Peter was very friendly and obliging The outside facilities were not at all clean or looked after. No really comfortable seating. And very dirty. No sweeping had been done BBQ not clean. The whole property looks unkemp
- Julie (7/5): Good - Peter and his team were great hosts. We really enjoyed our stay. The photos on Booking.com were a little out of date. The grounds were quite overgrown and unkept
- Sue (9/5): It was a privilege to stay in a renovated historic homestead and being looked after by a fifth gener - It was a privilege to stay in a renovated historic homestead and being looked after by a fifth generation wine maker. Great pizzas!
- Fiona (10/5): Total relaxation - The perfect place to relax and unwind. This spacious home has been lovingly restored and decorated to give the most beautiful calming peaceful ambience. A credit to the owners who have thought of absolutely everything. The pizza next door at the cellar door was outstanding as were the staff. Hope to come again soon. Not a single thing
- Kerry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Wendy (10/5): Excellent homestead, food, wine and company - Beautifully renovated homestead with everything you could possibly need. Grounds were inviting to go for a stroll. Wish I was brave enough to try the outdoor bath.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Renee (10/5): A beautiful oasis to relax and recharge. We’d definitely be happy to stay again at this homestead. -
- Joyce (10/5): We all enjoyed the comforts and could have stayed longer - Well stocked kitchen. Log fires. Very comfortable. Beautiful location. Wood fired pizza night. Nothing to dislike.
- Leanne (7/5): It was fine - Breakfast was good. Quiet area Was hoping to relax in the lounge to watch the Olympics. But unfortunately the WiFi wasn't working and we spent the night in the kitchen area. Oven didn't work, but owner heated the food up in his oven
- Debra (10/5): A wonderfully appointed homestead set in gorgeous surroundings. A beautiful relaxing place to stay. - Absolutely amazing homestead set on beautiful grounds. There is a pizza restaurant on site with wine tastings available which was a lot of fun with Josh. The pizza was amazing and the wine tasting was well worth it. We bought a few bottles of the local estate wine which was very good. Very peaceful and relaxing surroundings. A haven from the hustle and bustle. The homestead was incredibly well appointed with everything you could need. The fridge was stocked with breakfast supplies which was a lovely surprise. Warm cosy fireplaces were perfect for the cold nights. Perfect location for exploring the Barossa region. The homestead is also a lot larger than what the photos suggest. The host Peter was very warm and friendly and up for a chat and made us feel very welcomed. We will definitely recommend the Grand Cru to our family and friends and we plan to return for a longer visit next time as two days was not enough! We loved it! There was nothing we didn't like!
- Anna (10/5): Fantastic, would come again - Fantastic little homestead, room is generous size. Living area and dining area have fireplaces to cozy up the place. Peter’s hospitality is unmatched and we would stay here again Only little downside is the cold hallway to the bathroom, especially for those in the middle of the night bathroom trips
- Denise (9/5): Brilliant - Extras supplied was great and unexpected Was very cold air con not working great
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional - Comfort hospitality and a generous host.
Beautiful gardens and a stunning homestead.
- Leonie (9/5): Wonderful! - There was bacon & eggs in the fridge for our breakfast which we really appreciated. We also enjoyed some pizzas and wine in their restaurant just a few meters away from our accommodation. They were some of the best pizzas we have ever had! Peter was a great host and made time to come to our table and chat. Very warm hospitality from all of the staff at Grand Cru Estate. None of the 3 TV's were working, however, it just meant we got to enjoy more time playing cards and games - very enjoyable!

Hospitality was second to none.
Scenery was relaxing Tbh nothing we had everything we needed
- William (10/5): Great Homestead getaway - Peter and the golden retrievers were great hosts. We spent the evening chatting over his exceptional pizza and wine. The homestead is very clean, quiet and has all the amenities. The fridge was stocked with bacon, eggs, bread and all the extras needed for breakfast. It's a great location to base a weekend in the Adelaide Hills or Barossa Valley for an adventure. You will not be disappointed! Everything was great, but two nights is not enough.
- Olga (10/5): Exceptional -
- Manreet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bronwyn (9/5): great place to relax and unwind. - Breakfast provisions where wonderful foe a fully cooked breakfast, Pizza was amazing from the restaurant, the hosts were so friendly and we felt like part of the family, peaceful lovely old building was fabulous for our stay
- Sharon (10/5): Luxury in serene surroundings - I have found many wonderful properties through booking.com -- but this may be the best in terms of location & comfort. Wonderful welcoming details such as rugs on the sofa. Peter even made us pizza! So welcome after a long, cross day travelling. Loved it!and left making promises to come back .... Nothing could have, been better. Apart from maybe the oven (didn't like us & didn't
behave)
- Polly (10/5): Simply the best, don't pass up the opportunity to stay here. We will be coming back. - Peter was such a great host; nothing was too much trouble. We had the original homestead to ourselves, and it was like stepping back in time with all the modern comforts and more. The gardens and surrounding areas are simple stunning and waking to the sound of magpies trilling and watching kangaroos watch you as you sip a morning coffee on the back verandah is so heartwarming and quintessentially Australian. Peter makes THE best Pizza's we have ever eaten, and they are generous in size and great value. We had one each of the three nights we stayed even though I never thought we could eat that many. They were just so good. Peters' knowledge of the wine industry is of course second to none and we were privileged to indulge in a few of his special vintages. Wouldn't change a thing.
- Lisa (10/5): A tranquil gorgeous homestead in the most spectacular setting! - The location and host- absolutely gorgeous!!!
- Marie (10/5): Amazing and relaxing - The hospitality that Peter gave was above and beyond.
The accommodation has a rustic feel, clean, very spacious with very comfortable beds. Beautiful walks available or you can just sit back and relax in the garden areas.
No need to travel anywhere as he offers woodoven pizzas along with a variety of his own wines, plus of course no alcoholic beverages. Nothing
- Andrew (8/5): Comfortable, host very friendly and accommodating and uniqueness of property - Location, ability to fit 5 friends, the host and seclusion Garden maintenance
