• Guest (9/5): Great value, brilliant location and lovely host. Just what our family of 5 wanted! - Lali the host is really lovely and made us welcome. She lives next door and also guided our turtle tour. She communicated really well with us about arrival times. We were met at the boat and taken to the house and shown around (via Pura Vida tours, who we booked a turtle watch & canoe tour with - also recommended). The property has a great location on the edge of the football field and within a short walk of everything (though Tortuguero is small - so everything’s easy to get to!) The kitchen is basic (3 electric rings for cooking) but fine to make a simple meal. The aircon in one big bedroom was very welcome, and the Wi-Fi worked fine. Altogether a great base to explore the park & wildlife of Tortuguero. The kitchen could be better stocked - a sharp knife, a bit more cutlery - but this was no big issue. The shower is weak - but again, it works well enough and would not deter me from staying here again.
• Jane (6/5): Great stay. - Big open property with plenty of space. Basic facilities. Owners live next door and were very helpful. Location is by the local football field. We were entertained by the kids skim boarding across the field after the rains. Everything was damp- but what do you expect in a rainforest. This would be the same for anywhere.
• Irby (9/5): - Close to the beach, trails to national park and restaurants. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Lots of beds so great choice for large families.
• Susan (9/5): great quiet spot away from the main walkway - quiet right on the futball green and beach completely clean nice little casa super comfy beds would be perfect for 2 couples / although one room has so many beds you can barely move great for a huge local family with kids too complete kitchen with fridge
• Líadain (9/5): Great location with lots of beds and lovely host - Location really good and central to tortugeuro. The house has Wi-Fi which was great. The air conditioning in the room it was situated in worked perfectly. The host provided towels for us which was very appreciated and left fresh bananas and mangoes. There could have been more cutlery for the number of guests we had staying. The shower was a little cold which we didn’t mind as it was very hot outside and the pressure wasnt great. We all really enjoyed our stay and these things didn’t impact how much we liked the accomodation :)
• Manda (8/5): Big central house great for large families, amazing owner (Lali) - Very welcoming owner Idalia (Lali) is also an excellent night guide for turtle tours. She is very helpful also with arranging different kinds of transport or services, and even kindly did our laundry. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook every day, and one room had a welcome AC unit. There are so many beds in this house, you could comfortably host a VERY large family! No hot water for showers, but that is a common situation in remote areas like this. The electricity and internet do go-out frequently in this area due to storms and its overall remoteness, but that isn’t the fault of this property, it’s a general issue that affects all of Tortuguero.
• Pedro (7/5): Positive overall with great people around and fun activities to do. - Great location, by the soccer field. The beach was across the field. Everything in town was very close. Having to pay cash in the local currency. After agreeing to pay online a certain amount, we ended paying a bit more due to the currency exchange rate of that day. When one agrees to pay a price, that should be the price paid.
